I am excited to say that it is that time of year once again! Time to be ready to head to Central BFE, Florida for Elliott's Fall Festival!!
I love this event. It has always been a good time for me over the last three years and I doubt that this year will be any different!!

Posted 12 years agoI figured that I would post this journal so that I could both bump that KrisPup raffle thing off my main page and send out a message of generalized gratitude to the furry community as a whole.
I think it may be safe to admit that some crazy shit goes down in our tightly-knit community, this week's drama/uproar/possible criminal behavior being a prime example of such, but this does not mean that some truly amazing things do not take place amongst the diverse population of the Furry Fandom.
Furries all over the world create wonderful works of art, engage in activities in their normal life that keep the world spinning, work together to contribute to charity and generally so all sorts of awesome shit all the time.
But, it is an aspect of the furry state of mind that has really had a profound effect on me as of late. Furs have this truly unique and immense openness for those individuals who don't fit into what one would call the normal sexual paradigm. Not only can one find a warm welcome for those who fit in the straight/LGBT mold, but also for those folks who sit outside and between those established categories. Pansexual, asexual, polyamorous, gender-queer; all these folk are welcomed with equal readiness and ease.
Where can an individual like me find a place where he can stop hiding those little bits of himself?
Well, I know that I can find it here. That is a good start.

Live Music Journal: Of Montreal
Posted 17 years agoI am practically Vibrating with excitement about monday.
On monday Of Montreal rolls through the Tampa Area and I could not be more thrilled. The Tubes have told me that this show will be a Once-In-A-Lifetime thing. Of Montreal is almost bankrupting themselves putting on this tour performing what is both a Concert and a Theatre Production.
This is a writeup from Stereogum about the opening show in NY.
I will update this with actual facts after the show, and if you are going to see them/have seen them say so in the comments.
This is going to be Amazing.

Live Music Journal: Broken Social Scene!
Posted 17 years agoWewt! I saw Broken Social Scene at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg, FL on Friday.

Wow.
What a Show, Land of Talk opened for them and counting the Openers they played for FOUR HOURS! Land of Talk was some good Pseudo-Brit-Rock, but with a Canadian, Female singer. Very Interesting.
Broken Social Scene was pretty Amazing. They are one of those 'Unstoppable Musical Forces', like the Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade. Their concerts are very engrossing, and this one did not fail to deliver that powerful 'Wall of Joy' experience.
But by far the best part of the Concert was when Kevin Drew walked the audience through some Canadian Screaming Therapy. In the middle of what I think was 'KC Accidental' he stopped and said that he wanted to do this with us. He asked us to bottle our fears, loves, hates, hurts. Everything. He asked us, on the count of three, to scream them out at the top of our lungs. The music started back again and He counted...

Two...
One...
All 1,100+ people in the Venue screamed into the night sky.
Kevin had His arms over thrust over his head and a look of Utter Joy on his face.
Shit was magical.
You always know a Great Concert when you are exhausted and grinning like an Idiot when you leave. I was both.

My name is Jakkob and I am a recently-outed Furry and Bisexual! Aren't we excited?!
I have been a lurker on FA for a long time (More then Two Years, Holy Shit!) and a Fur-In-Denial for even longer (Probably about Five Years). I figured it was about time introduce myself to the world I now accept I am part of.
Recently my best friend
Demetrius confessed to me that he was a Fur and Homosexual.
I, in a huge leap of faith, told him that I was also a Fur, but that I find both Men and Women Sexy. Thus started a Three-Week torrent of conversation that was completely devoid of Confidentiality. This was HUGELY relieving, and I Thank him for the Massive stress he helped absolve.
Demetrius has encouraged me to participate in my New World, and this Journal post is my first step. I intend, over the next month or so; to build a Fursona (Rawr, I'm a Lion =3) and possibly start drawing again (This is an Art Community).
Feel free to drop me a line, anytime. I am actually Quite Excited to get to know my Fellow Furs, instead of being a Damn Dirty Voyeur.
