STATE OF THE BIRB - OCTOBER 2025
Posted a week agoWell, that's been a month alright.
TELEGRAM.
Still dealing with some rather heavy losses, I think the biggest issue since my last journal was the freeze of my Telegram account. I still don't know what caused it, be it the UK age verification, me adding too many people at once, or my account getting incorrectly labelled as a spam account.
Either or, it has been rough, but I'm rebuilding from there regardless. After what happened with Discord this one fazed me a bit less. So if you're trying to reach me through Telegram, I'm currently unavailable.
If you want to reach directly add me on Element, which is the Discord equivalent of an empty warehouse. DM me for my username if you'd like to add me.
COMMISSIONS.
Still purring along.
Finished a few despite all the distractions. I'm still getting back in touch with all my clients, so if I haven't reached yours yet please stand by. I'm getting to everyone one at a time.
I have also successfully upgraded my art programs, and I've gotten my PC back in working order. Now to focus on getting her a good GFX, upgrade my phone, and maybe get a Christmas present for myself with what's left.
Rent, bills, and food are all covered 100% for several months, so we're good to go.
HEALTH.
I have a surgery appointment on the 4th of November. Thing is, I may not need to take it so that's currently up in the air. I'll do a more dedicated journal about this at a later date.
UPLOADS.
Finally going to queue some of those pictures up, and get things rolling. It's been so busy with my part-time job (which I quit because low income), my family dropping by to visit, the Discord fiasco, and all the tech issues. Uploading pics was low in my list of priorities.
Not anymore!
CONCLUSION.
Thank you guys for your patience, and your support. All the comments I read in my work, from the most sincere to the goofiest (which are also sincere), cheered me up during the harshest days. Thank you for sharing my artwork, it means the world to me.

Moving Away from Discord Permanently

I think it's safe to say I am never going to get my account back, and for what is worth I think it's going to be a good thing in the long run. This may come across as copium, and it kind of is, but Discord has been in decline since arguably 2019. The program is more bells and whistles than it is functionality, crashing constantly, throwing pop ups, chugging GPU, and recently I discovered it's partially owned by Tencent, so that adds more to the pile of reasons not to use it.
It is a bummer to lose all my contacts in one swift move, but I've been reconnecting with everyone over the last couple of weeks, and hopefully I'll reconnect with more as time goes on. This is perhaps the worst security breach I've ever experienced, and while I take responsibility for clicking the wrong link, Discord should know better and not let their customer service in the hands of bots and AI.
I have been using Telegram since then, and so far it has been pretty good. It's not as neatly organised as Discord, but everything else is better, especially in terms of performance. If you want to add me there, my username is jamescorck.
I have also been using something called Element, which is exactly like Discord but if it was an empty warehouse. It's very barebones and very empty, but it has good sound quality for calls, good connection, no drops, and performance wise it's also good.

On September 7th 2025, my Discord account was hacked. A hacker accessed to my account, because I downloaded a malware program to my PC, that gave them access to all aspects of my Discord. When I noticed they were in control, they issued me a warning. Stop, or they will report my account as a CP account. They followed with the threat, which resulted on my account getting suspended, and eventually disabled. I contacted Discord customer support, and eventually they determined they will not restore my account, and it will stay disabled.
When trying to use my alt account to keep working, I was also kicked out, and eventually suspended. As of writing this I am fighting the suspension, but I don't have many hopes to get it back.
I know I haven't done anything wrong, other than giving a hacker access to my Discord account, but this has been a massive set back. Right when I need to get more work done and progress with my commissions. I am quite worried, outside of all the issues I was already feeling quite anxious.
I will look for an alternate form of communication, until then I encourage everyone to add me on Steam, as my main form of communication. My Steam name is James_Corck. If you have business with me, add me there.

It's been a hot minute without doing one of these, so this feels appropriate, considering we're finally coming to the end of the Summer. It's been a busy Summer, a mostly OK Summer, but with some bad dampers and rough patches here and there, some of which we're still going through.
Lets see.

I'll give you a word of advice on this regard, and that is to avoid the doomscrolling. It's too easy to get caught in the drama of it all, it's like a whirlpool, and you don't want any of that. It can make you sick, it can make your life rougher, and the worry makes things much worse than they already are.
Keep an eye on it, stay informed, but know when you have to turn away.

Bet George Lucas is laughing his ass off when, back in 1999, everyone said that the title crawl for Episode I was boring and had no purpose.
As of right now, there's a 10% tariff on US imports from the UK, which is causing things to increase in price, making everyone's lives a lot harder. So I'm going to take some measures, one might say they're a bit desperate, but I sure don't want to lose any clients, and those of you who want-but-can't-afford artwork need some form of relief. So I propose the following.
From now until the tariffs are lifted (if they ever are) I will offer a 10% discount for those of you living in the US. This will be applied upon sending the invoice, and it can be applicable to all commissions (fully colored, flats, ref. sheets).
This offer will also be reminded upon ordering a commission (see it as when McDonalds asks if you wanna "super size").
Lets get through this in the best possible way. I wish you guys the best, and thank you for supporting what I do

From now on, I'll only accept five commission payments at a time, instead of sending the invoices and getting paid in the act. This means you can get added to the commission queue and only get charged once you're in the Top 5 Slots.

I honestly thought I wasn't gonna make it through that one. It's been a rough 2024, so I only hope for 2025 to not get rougher (and hopefully get better).
I don't have many New Year's resolutions, but the usual list of keep creating stuff, work on my projects, spend time with you guys, and just be the best version of ourselves that we can.
I also gotta finish about 50 videogames, catch up with all the movies I didn't watch last year, binge a couple of shows, and see if I can keep slimming down (I've lost almost 10kgs, woo! Slimmer!).
Happy New Year guys. Lets keep going, together

My friend Bethiebo and I have an ETSY shop open at the moment where we're selling prints, buttons, and stickers. You can check it out right below these lines on this link.
I also have my Patreon for Movie Slate (which acts as a tip jar of sorts).
And a Subscribestar for the NSFW goodies (which also is a sort of tip jar).
I'm also going to open commissions during the second half of August, here's hoping I get a good chunk of my workload cleared. You can ask about commissions any time, just message me here or DM me on Discord at James_Corck.
