5 Days: Canada and the mess...
General | Posted 17 years agoOk I am going to rue this for sure, but considering the volatility of this subject I am going to ask that comments to the subject go on my blog.
Why, I want to read opinion on this since it's really unclear about what happens now but I would rather that FA not be view to the bile, if possible. That said, this is mostly for the Canadians here and I am going ask that both here and there that the venom spitting be kept to a minimum since the political bile is deep. That said... here we go.
Well, don't you love our fair county? No, well if you foolhardily step into the political drama that has gone by in the last few days... I can't blame you. Wild ride to nothing uh? In less that 5 days, our elected offical's have done more damage to this country that would take most States at least a year or 10 to do. And all for one man... at times I wish we had a Sparta Pit at the hill to kick them into when they do something this stupid. It's better than what happening now...
That said, here is the link [ http://duvworld.wordpress.com/2008/.....-and-the-mess/ ] and what do you think, how do you feel and more importantly where do we go from here?

Anime: Gundam 00...
General | Posted 17 years agoOk, every so often I seem to have this hook that I am on. Lately, it's been this resurging love for all things gundam (and if you know me, no good comes of this.). Blame the new Double O, for that... It's odd, a friend and seller of wares nearly hooked me on Code Gesse.... rather glad I miss that boat, just too much over the top things for my liking, and the plot... train-wreck city. But 00, wow taking cues from Zeta sure helped, the plot seems to be this lovely kettle of woe and action.... lots of action.
So whom else is hooked?
So whom else is hooked?
Furry: Where do they go from here...
General | Posted 17 years agoA rather simple question to those that identify themselves as furry and have some eye on the community. You have seen what the community does but I find that so few ever as the question on what direction that the community is taking. So I ask, where in god's name do you think the community is heading?
LiteStep....
General | Posted 17 years agoYou know, one of the bigger reasons that I have been in linux for so GOD DAMN long (4 + years) is a rather simple one. The Simple Power... to do anything that I care to think of. Don't get me wrong, I am an old dog of the MS-Dos days, but for sheer simplicity in making changes... Linux + X11 + GNOME/XFCE = Laze me and Happy me. Sure it's VERY daunting to know that EVERYTHING (even things that you would not touch and leave to an expert) can be configured, rebuild and tempted with; but if you can put-up with that you see the beauty of a system that doesn't hide from you. Unlike windows... Unless....
Which get me to LiteStep.... I not sure, it does alot to make Windows work in a similar matter, if it was not for the tools that it backs in on and Mircosoft conventions that it can't avoid I would be happy. Mind you, this makes me interested in ReactOS again, if I feel the want to experiment... I'll keep it and LiteStep in mind.
So this and HaikuOS.... Which will be first.

10 points any good crtic should live by...
General | Posted 18 years ago10. Time... Regardless of what a person does, everything in art is proportional to time and careful detail. The rule of thumb being that the more time it takes to draw something, the more detail it has. The same goes with experience with drawing... any novice may take a while, you are not chew at their pride solely for time spent at the piece. You are not going to complain at all (remember, their work, their choice for a critique not yours)
9. When you criticize anything, you live and die by your own personal opinion. That is what you are stating first and foremost, what you like about a piece and what you hate. Emphases on the YOU!
8. On that same note, despite stating your own opinion... it is wise to not get personal. Reacting to what others say about your opinion is foolish, it's your opinion... only you can subject that view to some manner of change, you and you alone.
7. INGERITY... this is a big one, when you critique anything is it wise to be transparent. If you have a bias, state it. If you don’t have much to say, say what you can and move along. Need more time for review, state that. Not going to touch the piece with a 20’ poll, then shut up and move on. Got something to say about a piece, say it and don’t get rude about it. You have no idea how many flame-fest you can avoid by having some INGERITY about what you do.
6. Type/Speak clear, when you critique anything, you are to lose all slang. Don't act as if you are at 4chan/Fchan, with the 'o rlys', 'o shi-s' and 'lols'. It makes you look dumb and doesn’t carry any detail about what you are reviewing. No swearing, 'This sucks,'/ 'This is shit,' doesn’t help anyone (Trust me on this, I hear it about Gnome/GIMP a lot.)... And any artist that has done what they do for a while will ignore such rather swiftly. Want to be heard, don't act stupid. (If you can't avoid such, USE SPARINGLY)
5. You are Critic, not a charity... There is little love in this, people will hate you. Learn to live with that. Artists (most that I have seen) tend to be avoid having something critiqued. That is their right, and YOU have to uphold that as a Critic. In a word, being a critic is a dirty job... you don't play favorites (unless you can't avoid doing so, See point 7), you don't mince words. Does that mean you are a cold bastard about something that you review, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
4. DON’T BE RUDE IN ANYWAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. Next.
3. If you have any idea on how an artist can improve there piece or piece that may come afterwards... if you are an artist or not, say it. Odd as it might sound, Critic’s help Artists, anything you say to help in that said improvement is welcome (so long as the Artist is welcome to such, there are times when you are met with plain hostility... in that case, if you stated what you have… move on. If not, wait if the artist with invite your opinion... but don't hold your breath).
2. Some times research is necessary, don't be afraid to do it.
1. And remember, you are a critic... not an asshole. If you say something, stand by it but you are not going to make anyone a personal target. You say what you got, what you like, what you hate and any improvements. No more, No less... anything beyond that may get personal, which is gray matter, at times needed, most times not.

Yes, for what is it worth... I STILL FUNCTION!!!
General | Posted 18 years agoYou know for VERY time I crawl out of the gutter, I seem to be draged back into it. It's really beginning to piss me off... since things begin to just take off at that point in time.
That side, lost some 'friends', trying to work hard again to keep shit from happening, Fall out with the folks (namly my mother and I see to be too stressed and she seems to be looking for a arguement), and so on...
And the funny thing is that I still feel like heading to college... this is going to be difficult.
Oh yeah, while losing friends... watched spiderman 3. I'll say this much, save your money. As I fan, I still question if it was cash well spent or wasted.... it your call in the end, but that I left it with this feeling of disapointment that hasn't stoped.

What is Furry?
General | Posted 19 years agoYou know this question, many of you do... it is quite common in these parts. Call it odd, but have you noticed that furries can't really answer that in a straight manner. To think of it in the philosophical terms , what would furry be?
It seem that all we do is skirt about the question for some time. I know what I define it as, which is to say that is it the appreciation of the anthropomorphic form of animals. But that is not the answer to the philosophical terms of what 'furry' is... but then today as I was till some food for people (with the bulk and skull theme playing in my brain), I think that I managed to answer that question for myself. What is furry then... rather simple, Furry has little to do with the aspects of furry at all. If you try to define furry based on that, you'll fine that the answer is still void of meaning. It can't really be answered in the terms of imagery since the image itself must have to defined something to make an image of. But funny enough, writing has MANY examples of furry... as much as we do love the imagery, it is writing where you fined the philosophical terms of what furry are.
You see to me, the answer is, humanity and human emotions. Since in writing, a furry would be a direct interpretation of humanity itself, and all of humanities faults. It is nothing more that the very thing that many furries in the community seem to distance themselves from, being human. Which is ironic, no? Those that call themselves furries, shun the terms of what they are. Human, in all it's flaws... with issues and problems, believes and values, etc.
Call this a eureka moment, flame if you must... call me a lier, that my facts are baseless and without merit. But indeed, isn't that being... well... human?
This has been my two cent.... Discuss among yourself and here.

Oi, waiting again...
General | Posted 19 years agoFor those that give some shit about my well-being... Here it is.
So more or less, I dropped off the face of the earth again. As a means of focus towards my goals, finishing my applications to college, moving to a new place and so on.
The room I got it not half bad to speak personally. It was sort of funny, due to work ... I didn't sleep in the room for nearly a week of so, but with that done, I'm doing quite nicely. Back watching more Zeta. Which is nice...
Bumped into an old friend of mind (whos taking the same courses as me), and since there was nothing else to do joined him as he went club hopping. It was bad, not my thing thought... I am more the calm backyard party person myself. Still, just watching the dance floor was something else, so primal, instinctive, something that I might put to writing some day, in some manner.
Been also trying to contact this other friend of mine (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE... GRRR), no luck... Work, I guess, is keeping him occupied. -Sigh-
Lost my DS... (More stolen, but meh... I can't bother to replace it right now.) And am waiting on funds for school. Oi, Lots to do...

General | Posted 20 years agoWell first off, I am scared now...
Sort off been putting off my writing to chase this dream of mine. With two stories that are due to people, I think that I put a little too much on my plate. Not to say that they will not be done, more that I will be taking a lot longer to have them finished. Oi.
Second off...
My mother... whom has been completely over-reacting about my sexuality. This for the last 4 years now, so on one phone call lately... I decided to put her on the spot for once over her panic. Yes, I don't date yet... that will come in due time, with the way that my life is it's better that I confront that when it happens to me, not to go out and search for companionship. I simply have other stressing matters to contend with.
It's insulting in a way, that for EVERY time that I say otherwise my mother just seems to doubt me. It like a slap in the face to be honest, I wouldn't hide something like that to her. And Yet she keeps showing that she just doesn't trust that I would be forward with her (which I have been). Bah, and people wonder why I am bitter.
Third off...
Harry-fucking-Potter... so I saw the movie. It was the only thing that I was more likely wanting to see (considering that I am not the type to like the movies or the stories of H.P.). It was an IMAX flick (so, impressive BIG screen), but at least it entertained. Kind of sad that the industry assumes that the crap that keeps churning out of studios it going to make sales and earn that hard worked for dollar... luckily people are not zombies, idiots maybe (depends on whom you met) but not without brains. Not completely.
There, that is my piece for emo for the day.

General | Posted 20 years agoOh dont mind me at the moment. Going to be a little random here, give you guys a profile and see how things fly.
One of my "Characters based on something in 'teh real world'" so bare with me.
Name: Noel Delina Khristina
Age: 30
Hight: 4"10"
Weight: 100
Species: Cat (and yet her marking are that of a Panda Bear)
Noel is an odd girl at times. For someone as small as she is, this is one girl that has many hidden strengths. She is rather quite and calm yet tends to speak volumes about a scenario. Shes been known to fight in an underground fighting circuit filled with a colourful array of opponents. One of the few that survives the contest year after year, her style of combat is will ranked under the unorthodox. She tends to overwhelm her opponents with speed and movement, which is based on a form of dance that came from her homeland. Few things are know about the "lady with unending cheer," save for the fact that she is merciless within the ring and can take on most with ease. Beyond her cold glare, she doesn't talk much within the fighting world... so more or less you are forced to read her eyes for any emotion from her. That and her eerily warm smile as she kills.
And yet that is only one side of the girl. Outside the combat world, she is a nun that serves with a covert convent in the Northern Swiss. Helping others to the path of light, what ever that may be. An open woman about the world around her, she always seems happy. Few things get her down, save when her other life seems to enter this one. Where she show how cold she can be beyond others.
And yes, this is rather rough, do don't be gentle.

So first off, welcome back... one hopes for better things with the way that things work here. Call it odd, but I get this funny feeling that nothing has changed. But then, only time will tell of that one.
So more of less, I am stuck being the watcher here... out of want of my own, I guess. Just not in the mood to start relying on FA when things get harry, and they will. Guess that I am one of the few people that is not going to welcome FA with open arms, only to err to caution and history.
Still, don't read into that much, FA will be getting a equal review of things here... as owned to it. Just don't expect me to be like the others by being welcoming and overly trusting. That is something FA's Admin team is going to have to reclaim on there own merits.
To those that has been thanking me for the watch and fav's... thanks, they do mean something.
And yes, I am still very much the critic of artwork... a warning to the wise if they fear something that coukl be constructive, or heated.
So yeah FA back and I am here.... FEAR ME, Muahahahahaha!
