Music and vent
General | Posted 4 months agoI'm gonna say it... And you probably heard someone else say it too, or not, but anyway, you're gonna hear me say it in my words...
Well, music contests on the internet are biased as hell.
And I've been in like two of them. Three if you consider OCRemix, but I'll talk about it soon, I suppose.
No, I'm not frustrated or disappointed that I didn't end up winning the Furry Musicians contest. Really, why would a track like Éperdu win that contest? It has no vocals, no real instruments, it's just synths on top of each other and, frankly, how do you pull up a "Hymie's Hymn" or a "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" or a "Blood Promise" in one minute? You can, but you can't, like, I can do short tracks filled with richness and depth, but I also do lengthy ones for many reasons. One is that one minute isn't just enough to express a lot of stuff I feel, two is that I hate the “tiktokfication” of our society with stuff like Youtube Shorts and Tiktok becoming the standard while people struggle to watch movies like Kagemusha and 2001 because they are too long and boring and they can't pay attention to what's going on and...
Yeah, I forgot what I was talking about, sorry. So, uh, one minute is too short, simple and clear. And no, I had no freaking chance of winning and I didn't upload, create and mix that track only to win. Nah, I just wanted to showcase my skills and that's all. Still, music contests made online are very biased, I'll tell that.
I once tried to upload some remixes of video game OSTs I've made on OCRemix, but I failed to do so because their judging system is, well... They don't like experimental stuff, and when they do, it's not experimental enough. It's like those guys want to hear the exact same notes they heard in their childhood but they want "real hui-quality equipment" instead of "midi", which is kind of ironic considering that most high-quality game music back in the 80s and 90s were, you know, midi files, or heavily compressed .wav files with background noise in them (unrelated, but I miss that aesthetic).
And, oh, most old game music had clipping too, by the way. OCRemix feels less of a fansite dedicated to video game music remix and more like a corporation in which boardrooms disguised as evercaring fans decide what they wanna hear and what they don't according to some bullshit standards they themselves have invented for whatever.
So, really, self-release is the way to go. You won't be famous, but you'll let others know your stuff is out there somewhere.

The reason why I draw so much silhouette maybe
General | Posted 5 months ago1. It's easier than drawing full bodies with lots of acessories and details and stuff;
2. To fit with the drawing's mood. Sometimes less is more, and more is less. Yeah, makes sense;
3. Shadows add depth to drawings. Well, most of the time, they do;
4. One of my favorite music videos ever is "Hunting High and Low" from A-ha. You know, the one with the man in the wilderness turning into an eagle, then a shark, then a lion at the end. As a kid, that video always impressed me, like the "It's My Life" video from Talk Talk in which Mark Hollis refuses to lip sync to the lyrics while some footage with animals are shown on screen, nothing to do with the song at all, and that's the most elegant way you can pull a middle finger to somebody, but that's a story for another day...
And that's it, hope you enjoy my short ramblings. See ya♥

Life update, what's new and stuff
General | Posted 5 months agoHello everyone!
It's been a while since I wrote any journals, lots of events happened in my life recently that I had no time to do anything to be fair, but since I got the time to do so, even if briefly, well... Here I go.
To begin, I got a job, YAY! I work as a cashier in a supermarket, it's not a hard job, but it can get tough sometimes, especially in the rush hour. Little by little I learn to be independent, which is a bit liberating, come to think of it.
My mother is currently undergoing treatment, she's been suffering from severe depression due to many things that happened in her life recently and in the past. I hope she'll be fine by the next few days, and yeah, depression is this shit that makes us feel worthless inside and out, it's not funny and I don't wish it to happen to anyone, not even the worst person on this planet.
Well, since I got a job, I have little time to do the things I like, only on Wednesdays, when I'm free all day. Oh, and some Sundays too. Work is like school part two, except you use the numbers you learned as a child, like one, two, three, then you multiply, you add, you get it. Life as a cashier is great, all you have to do is learn how to count. I think human beings evolved to count the numbers they learn every day, not percentages. News love percentages, don't they?
Anyway, I'm planning on releasing more music on my Bandcamp and I'll participate in this year's Artfight too, it'll be great. Anyway, wish you all the best and have a nice day! ♥

Quick list of updates
General | Posted a year ago• I'm officially 20 years old! Well, my birthday was in March, but still, 20 years... I've been living for a long time, folks.
•Twitter is now blocked in my country. I'm from Brazil, in case you did not know, and Musk being Musk, the ass that he is, got his own app blocked in here, which's great. I never liked that cesspool of misinformation and far right glorification anyway...
• I'm not collecting comic books at the moment, though I've made a side blog on Tumblr where I share a few pages from my copies, it's called Comics With Imperfect Blacks and you can read about it here: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/comicsw.....mperfectblacks
• The hell was that with e621 deleting one of my burmecian artworks during the human purge? Fortunately, my artwork's been restored, human eer, machine eer, it doesn't matter now that the issue got solved
• I've participated this year's Artfight, and it was great! I drew people's OCs and I even got to see other people draw my OCs. Hopefully I'll be back on next year
• Doing fine at school, that's it. History is one of my favorite lessons so it's not that hard to learn and relearn stuff that I'm fond of
• I found an option on VLC that adds some grain on top of film, which's neat when you're watching one of those old movies where the restoration process took so much grain out of it that it feels like everyone's made of wax, eugh
• Currently working on a Moomin comic titled "Paper Hats", based on the fanfiction I've written
And that's it, hope you have a nice day!

Two years on FA *oowee*
General | Posted 2 years agoTwo years, folks! TWO YEARS since I joined this gigerian nightmare, this goghian landscape, this tachism abstraction that is FA. A lot of stuff happened in between, so here's a recap:
For the first time I'm reading Ultimate Spider-Man, the comic book written by Bendis. It's rare to find some issues of Ultimate, they don't republish it very often, and so far the only Spider-Man comic that gets published again and again is Power and Responsibility, which's... fine, but it feels incomplete because it sets a lot of things that will only come to more setup later in the run. That's how Bendis' books worked back then, you bought one, then another, and another, and another... I've read from issues 5 to 14, because I wanted to buy Power and Responsiblity, it's really good, but man, is it expensive;
Commissions can be frustating if Paypal hates your country so much that it does not allow a popular method of payment to be avaliable. God, i just hate Paypal but everyone uses it. it's like the folks who still use Winrar, except Winrar is free forever and it does not make stupid ass decisions. Leaving my eternal struggle/vent about Paypal here, because I just don't like it, if it works for you, that's good, but they don't care about Brazil and it sucks. Also, my credit cards are working, yay!;
Curently I'm working on a comic book based on a Moomin fanfic I wrote a year ago, "Paper Hats". You'll find some of the artwork by checking out my Scraps page. I'll go for a very uneven artstyle, which means not a proper artstyle at all but random drawings varying with each mood I have when I draw them.
I got a Patreon, yay! I may open it soon for commissions. And that's it, I hope I can share my artwork and music and stuff there. I also opened an Internet Archive account to store my music, but I also found it as an opportunity to archive the Final Fantasy IX fanfiction I've read. Speaking of Final Fantasy IX, I may be writing more chapters of my fanfic, Under The Crescent Moon;
And that's it. Hope you have a nice day!

Random thoughts and updates
General | Posted 2 years agoI think I am the only person in the world who is a fan of Sir Fratley. I draw artwork of Fratley, I write about Fratley, heck, I even make covers of his theme song. If there was a Sir Fratley fan club, I'd be a member.
I bought a new set of pens. It says 'ultra soft', and it's genuinely good material for drawing.
I have published 45 chapters of Under The Crescent Moon, my current Final Fantasy IX fic.
I'm not done enough with music, but sometimes I feel like I did enough. Last month I published the unnoficial soundtrack of Thirteen Ways To Say Goodnight, one of my favorite FF9 fics ever, and I feel like... Man, 42 tracks, three hours of music dedicated to a fanfic that has not been updated since 2005. You know that feeling when you did a lot and there's no way you can improve anymore? I feel a bit like that. A bit, but I'm doing fine and creating more music for myself.
I have reached 499 videos on Youtube. I'll be making something special for the 500th video, you will see... And of course, it has to do with Final Fantasy IX.
To be honest, with the amount of artworks I have done, the word Burmecian will be associated with my stuff, who knows. Maybe I'm secretly inspiring a bunch of people to do artwork of what they enjoy.
The latest comic book I bought was Fantastic Four: Authoritative Action. It's really good, it was written by Mark Waid and it's what comic books should be: The first half is a serious, politically-charged story, while the later is a more emotional, fantasy-driven story.
Have a nice day :)

General | Posted 2 years agoWell, it's been a while since I wrote anything on a journal, so here we go again.
Reddit refugee here. I do not miss much. I had a dislike towards a certain subreddit I will not be mentioning here, but it had to do with Artificial Intelligence and speculations. Gosh darn, that sub... why was it there anyway? I did not ask for any reccomendations of a group of people who believe AI will change the world for better, that AI will do this, will do that... screw it, I don't care. If some people care, it's fine, but I don't. It's not for me, if some people are into it, okay, but not me, stop reccomending this stuff for me. That sub had the same energy as a baby relevation party where it's revealed the baby is either boy/girl, but it does not matter since it's all but speculation. It's neither truth or lie, but a limbo of uncertainty in between. They can be wrong, but they do not admit, some folks treat AI as gospel out there and that's one of the reasons why I did not liked that sub.
I saw the recent Spiderverse movie. It's pretty good. One positive (out of a gagillion) is that I have never seen a movie with so much color be pleasing to the eyes.
I have been doing a lot recently. Writing my Final Fantasy IX fanfic, crafting an entire music album based on a Final Fantasy IX fanfic, making a Final Fantasy IX video on youtube... A lot of FF9 in my life xd.
Without Reddit, I have been active in a lot of places I haven't since, well, a long ago. Like Newgrounds, I share my artwork and music there.
And that's it. Have a nice day!

Life updates, FF9 and Romance
General | Posted 3 years agoHello everyone! Hope you're having a nice Sunday!
I have beat Phantasmagoria 2. Man that's a weird game, it kinda resembles Jacob's Ladder mixed with David Lynch and Cronenberg. Now I find myself very fond of 90's point and click games, like Dark Seed and Day of the Tentacle. Didn't one of the Stranger Things writers, directors, I forgot, one of them mentioned Dark Seed, though I'm not sure. The first is Giger horror at best, damned time limit, and the second game is more surreal and kind of dark humor. They're not perfect games, but I like them. I have also played a bit of Harvester, I heard about it years ago as one of the most violent games. It's a very surreal game as well, not just violent, but utterly bizarre. Oh, you were such a kidder, Steve.
Nope. No romance. Do I even care at this point?
I'm still working on the FF9 in a nutshell video. It's starting to look like a mix between nutshell, abridged series and wish fulfillment. I'm not sre when it'll be done, but I'm working on it and that's fine.
I'll be forever frustated that Freya Crescent got sidelined during Disc Two and reduced to a minor character. That one thing is the reason why I've been torturing myself over the years by creating fanart and fanfiction. Also because I like her character and she deserved more. I have been thinking about why I insist at doing fanart, that won't change a thing about Disc Two.
I hate my life. Tomorrow I'll have to study at school, but it's not that great of a school. Online school these days became just Youtube videos that you have to pay for. It sucks, and demotivates me a lot. I have talked a lot about the 300 student class and how those people didn't talked to each other and blatantly plagiarized quotes in their works. It freaking sucks, because I have studied ethics in school and it makes me think that I'm an idiot for following the rules and being good. I also give more effort at drawing artworks than I do with anything in regards to school.
And that's it. Have a nice day!

The printer is back! + Updates
General | Posted 3 years agoHello everyone. How are you doing? Hope it's alright, wherever you are.
Well, guess what? The title says it all. Yep, my printer is back from the maintenance. Like in the Frankenstein movie, "It's alive it's alive IT'S ALIVE!!!" Gosh, I'm so happy right now! I think I'll publish my new drawings soon enough.
My favorite band right now is Styx. They are a weird mix of Progressive rock and hard rock with synths. My favorite song is 'Sing For The Day', and my favorite album is 'Paradise Theatre', though I find myself singing 'Domo arigato Mr. Roboto' at times.
I have bought a few comic books. I've been thinking about collecting some X-men books from the Claremont era, but there are so many of them, so you'll have to pick up by artist. The ones I recently bought were issues 232-234, the second Brood saga. It's a good reading, from what I've seen. You know, purple Wolverine becoming an alien cover, that one is very iconic. I also found issue 251 too, with the crucified Wolverine on the cover. Yeah, pretty damn cool.
I have been working on the FF9 in a nutshell video. It feels more like an abridged series than a nutshell, though.
Anyway, have a nice day! I'm back.

I hate printers
General | Posted 3 years agoToday my HP Deskjet 1516 decided to die.
I mainly use the printer for digitizing my artwork, now I can't because the scanner is showing of some black/white horizontal lines while I digitize my stuff, and those lines look awful. Even when I tried to open the printer and clean the glass, the scanner and everything, it showed of even more lines.
I hate you, HP. So, guess that means no more fanart for now, until I get it fixed. What a bitch.

Happy New Year! 2022 Retrospective (I guess) +Romance
General | Posted 3 years agoHello everyone,
It's been a pleasure to publish my stuff on FA. I made an account last year by pure random lol, and I've seen some stuff that gape me in wonder and amazement, some disgusting and disturbing art as well, a mix of both... it was a wild experience. It IS a wild experience so far.
Yeah, I don't like New Year's Eve very much. It's one of those holidays that makes me think 'damn, an entire year is coming to an end and I did nothing', but really! Fuck my mind who can only think about past and future, we live now. Nothing really changes except that you need to buy a new calendar. I did lots of stuff and I still do, goddamnit! I bough lots of books, I'm about to finish Final Fantasy VII for good since 2016, an asshole hacked my computer and encrypted my data but I was able to recover some of it, my computer died and ressurected, I made a reddit account, made new friends on Discord, I went to a park I haven't been since 2019, I took three shots of the vaccine, and I'm sitll alive.
I plan to complete one of my FF9 fics next year. I guess I'll be able to do it, but who knows? The fandom is mostly empty of new writers, I know a few of them and some are dear friends of mine. Currently revisiting a story I wrote back in 2020, Under The Crescent Moon. Fun fact: I developed my artstyle through fanfiction art.
It's been a year since I began collecting old comic books. My favorite is Daredevil by Ann Nocenti, it's weird but cool. The characters talk like they're on a fever dream, there's some wild stuff happening and I like Typhoid Mary, she is like the innocent pure of heart girl/dominatrix from hell archetype mixed into the same character.
Hey, this year I did my first commissions, and I'm glad you enjoyed. Maybe I will do more, but I need to do a better promotion of my stuff. I don't want to keep posting reminders to fill in inboxs and neither I want to make money, that's a bonus. Opening comms! Yay! EEEEEEE. Okay, they will soon be open.
I wish I could stream on Twitch but OBS refuses to work on 32 bit systems. I got FBX to work with a giant watermark on it, screw that.
Nope. No romance, no crush, nothing. I'm so lonely, broken angel...
It's hard to be a dedicated member of a fandom with barely anyone active nowadays. I mean, I made a collection of FF9 fics on Fanfiction.net, on AO3, I wrote some stories, I did fanart, I publish it, why does it needs to be so hard?
I made an Instagram account, an account on Livejournal, revisited my Wattpad account to find the worst fanfic ever made, and it's so cringe it's not even funny. My 12 year-old me wrote some racist and homophobic stuff that is not even funny, it's just plain stupid. I'm glad I'm evolved with time. And also, I was really trying too hard to make someone laugh. I also found a Secret of NIMH/Jojo's Bizarre Adventure crossover. Don't ask why, 2020 was a painful year, even though the fic is nice. Fuck covid with a capital F.
I am glad that Bolsonaro didn't got elected. Damn, was he the worst... no, he needs to improved to be called the worst president. He made me and Brazil feel depressed for four years straight. I'm glad that genocidal maniac is gone and I hope he gets what he deserves.
And that's it! I do sound a bit bitter, but happy as well. See ya!
It's been a pleasure to publish my stuff on FA. I made an account last year by pure random lol, and I've seen some stuff that gape me in wonder and amazement, some disgusting and disturbing art as well, a mix of both... it was a wild experience. It IS a wild experience so far.

Merry Christmas, self-reflection, random shenanigans
General | Posted 3 years agoHello everyone! Today is Sunday, a day that used to bore me out due television. The most exciting thing to watch before internet at home (Pre-2016 me) was Woodypecker and Everybody Hates Chris. Even the religious cartoons were kind of amusing. Sunday used to be a kind of depressing day.
I don't know about you guys, but I feel rather different about this year's Christmas. Maybe it's just me growing up a bit, or not. The tree, the nativity play, the neon lights... It got so repetitive setting them up each year, but then I realized that setting them up again, this simple repetition that comes on every year's end actually gives me a sense of comfort, even thought everyone is not here.
Daredevil 241, 253 and 266 are my favorite Christmas comics.
I have no idea what will be of my History class. Have I told you about the infamous online class of 300 people that literally do not know each other? 300 people that study at same class and know no one, goddamnit. Even on Discord I know far more people than I do with my classmates and that's odd. Leave it up for them to make me feel depressed. It sucks my entire motivation to study.
Nope. No romantic life ahead. I feel like I'll never get to met the love of my life. But hey, this is FurAffinity, not Tinder Gold.
TIL Jaws the Revenge is a Christmas movie.
And that's it! Happy holidays for everyone, hope we get to see more burmecian content.

1 Year on FurAffinity, YAY
General | Posted 3 years agoDamn. That's quite a long time since I've made an account here to share my artwork.
November 8th, that's when it began. I have improved a lot over this year. In fact, I have found my style. Kinda. Yeah, my stuff is abstract, but there are levels and levels of abstractness (I don't know if that's a word). Funny how you're like 'time moved quick' at year's end, given time itself is an artificial construct, but anyway...
Sorry nothing. I have nothing prepared for 1 Year FA anniversary. A lot of stuff amazed me, some pictures scared me a lot more than I thought I would be, a few traumas but nowhere as near as the many talented artists I have found out. It's amazing how a lot of people in here can do lots of crazy stuff beyond dreams. These days I saw an artwork of acrylic that, dear God, it looked so beautiful. Even some of the NSFW stuff looked okay for me. Good artists are good on what they do.
I might be the only person around who's still drawing burmecian ocs, and I don't know if I am proud of sad about this. Maybe both, more proud too.
So, that's it! 1 year on FA Heaven and Hell, hooray...
(I wish someone could draw my ocs without having to pay. Paypal hates South America)
Romantic life: Nothing. Othing. Thing. Hing. Ing. Ng. Gu.
Favorite Song: ''Cico Buff'' by Cocteau Twins
Favorite Comic Book: X-Factor 24-26 (aka Fall Of The Mutants)
Favorite Series: For some odd reason I'm enjoying Riverdale Season 2
See you later, and Happy Holidays!

Made a page on Ko-fi! Update on my romantic life
General | Posted 3 years agoHello everyone! Hope you're having a nice Sunday.
It's weird for World Cup to happen near the year's end, but yeah, life is strange.
So, I finally made a page on Ko-fi! I'm still working on a few things, but if you want to visit it, here's the link (that I might later include on my profile): https://ko-fi.com/janetwallace
Nope. No romance. I'm a kind of dork for such things. If you count the love I have for each artwork I drew, then maybe there's some romance, or something above that, in my life.
Music reccomendation: Cocteau Twins - Blue Bell Knoll(my favorite tracks being 'Carolyn's Fingers', Cico Buff and Suckling The Mender. God, I love 'Suckling The Mender', makes me feel like dancing near a waterfall. It's like one of those songs you hear at childhood).
And that's it. Have a nice day! ♥

Fanfic, favorite song & romantic life update
General | Posted 3 years agoOh hello there!
I am currently rewriting my first Final Fantasy IX fanfic, Under The Crescent Moon. Fixing typos, like my reading is %50 typo. Fortunately, I have made a backup of the previous version, entitled 'Beacause', hehe...
Favorite song: On The Turning Away by Pink Floyd.
Nope. No romance. That does not mean I'm an incel, thank God.
Have a nice Friday!

Closing comms for now
General | Posted 3 years agoWell, it's been two weeks since I began doing commissions. Since no one has taken the final remaining slot, guess I'll be closing it. My first time doing comms, not bad.
Commissions, paypal & my romantic life
General | Posted 3 years agoA reminder that there's still one slot left from the commission thing: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48776519/
Paypal sucks. It's good to receive payments, but it sucks when it comes to pay, and not being north american.
I have no romantic life.
And that's all!

Opening Commisions
General | Posted 3 years agoHello! everyone! I'll be trying commisions for the first time. If you want to try, here's a link for the sheet:

Yeah, I became my worst enemy. Like that Dark Knight quote “You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.''

DeviantArt No More! (+18)
General | Posted 3 years agoSoemthing awful happened today.
Accesed my dA account, to which a porn pic came up. It wasn't mature, no, that was some explicit content. Penetration, body liquids, erection, spreading... it was not even a character doing so, but a person. A real person posting pictures of his genitals on dA, and his account, her account, those accounts, all of them, they don't get reported or excluded at all. They are still there, it's been a week, a month, uploading pornography on a site which's already filled by gross fetishes, but at least I can avoid these, it ain't my thing, but when it comes to reality, to an old man, a sexual offender, a PERVERT...
Sorry. I'm still upset. Spamming porn is everywhere, as far as I know, but on DeviantArt, it's like hell. You don't need a Deep Web, we are already far deep enough. And I am sad. Dissapointed, frustated, all of these things, but sad, that's the first time. I shed a tear when I saw this gross, disturbing stuff. So disturbing I'd rather watch Martyrs while eating popcorn.
Sorry again. I'm still shaken by today's events. My back pain doesn't matter anymore, because I know what really pains me. It's after seeing those things I mentioned, report those users and feel like there's no justice, there's no punishment. DeviantArt's report system is awful, you have to read lots of stuff until you can fill in a report. Anyway... I'll be posting my stuff somewhere else. Like here. Yeah, this place... not the best, but anything other than dA is fine to me.
Have a good day everyone.
Like Radiohead's 'Bishop's Robes' lyrics say, 'I'm not going back'.

Made my own Discord server
General | Posted 3 years agoHello!
Recently, I've came with an idea of building my own Discord server. Don't know the theme yet, there's still a lot of stuff to be done, but here's the link if you wanna join in:
