Scavengers #5 has gone to print!

"Dewey and Friends" should go to print this weekend, and NAF #38 next week. The next issue of Xfrmations Unlimited is underway and we're still hoping to have Complete YARF! volume 4 at Anthrocon too.

We don't have a table, but some of the Jarlidium crew will be there, and some of our books! In particular, look for Shawn the Girl sitting at 41-42 with PMoss and Onna, who will have "So You've Become a Taur" with her.

Big thanks to everyone who has already purchased a copy! Shawn has our entire remaining stock from the first print run, but strong early sales mean that the supply is pretty slim. If you want to get a copy at BLFC, buy early! We have a second print run in the works so there will be more copies in time for Anthrocon.

Can you believe Jarlidium has been around for 20 years???

Back when Jarlidium started, all publishing was done in house with a photocopier and staplers, little booklets called Zines. Some artists still make these zines to this day to feature their art, but it's a thing that has fallen out of popularity. Tibo tells a bit of the story over here.

I came into the fandom myself probably around 2001? Even though I'd been drawing anthropomorphic characters since I was a young kid, it wasn't till then that a friend gave me a name for the fandom. I'd never heard of a "Furry" before so I began learning more and discovering the online community (anybody else remember TeamARTail?). I didn't get on the Convention scene till 2008 with my first Rainfurrest where I met  Flinters and Tibo eventually.

I became involved with Jarlidium in 2013/2014 I want to say. Now we are back to out of house printing because accessibility is so much easier than it used to be, the internet is an amazing tool. We haven't done a little black and white zine in a long time- though that sounds like it might be a fun throwback to do... Hmmm...

Tibo and Flinters have told me about these things called "Zaps" which sound like loads of fun. I think we should try and bring back some of these things, maybe put a modern twist on it.

Anyway! It's been amazing looking at how far Jarlidium has come over the years and be a part of them so far.

Check back for some awesome celebration stuff, there have been some mumblings about some things to come. I hope to have an official announcement next week! See you then!

Hello faithful watchers! Time for a long awaited update!

Did you know Jarlidium has been publishing for 20 years now? Almost old enough to get into the club! We've been busy since our last journal. "So You've Become a Taur" is about to hit the presses and in late Spring we will be publishing, "Tale of Jasper Gold." Thanks to everyone who stopped by the table and said hi, and especially those of you who bought something. This was another record year for sales, and despite bringing more stock than last year we still sold out of a number of titles -- primarily stuff that has not sold well in the past but suddenly was popular this year! For next year we believe we have a solution worked out for shipping stock at a reasonable price, which should let us finally bring enough. Anthrocon is always a lot of fun and I just wish I could do some shopping instead of being tied to the table, but somebody has to sell the books. :)

Our next convention is an experimental appearance at Rose City Comic Con in Portland, OR. It's not a furry con but it also is vastly bigger than any con we've ever been to -- about five times the size of Anthrocon. We have no idea how it will go, that's why it's an experiment!

Look at all this dust... that's what happens when you leave something alone for too long. Sorry!

We're leaving for Anthrocon tomorrow, and we'll be in the dealer's room at K12-13 ready to sell books on Friday!

Squeak! #7 - the next issue of our general naughty anthology, featuring comics by  Kompy  sailoranna, and a Sugarnutz story by  Flinters Also now in color!

North American Fur #36 - 200+ pages of art, comics, and stories by dozens of creators! Since last year, we also have issue 35 which came out in January. Pick up both! I'll make you a deal.

We will also be taking preorders for The Complete YARF! volume 4, which should ship in late August. It was almost ready for Anthrocon, but the document feeder on my scanner doesn't like the glue left on the edges of pages after disassembling an original issue. Scanning them on the flatbed works fine but is going to take a while for that many pages -- there's a reason I wanted to use the document feeder!

Edit: since last Anthrocon, by gracious permission of Ursula Vernon, we have reprinted her comic Irrational Fears in a handsome hardcover edition!

Table 16! It looks like we will have some space behind the table this year, so look for the cluster of standups!

This year doesn't seem to have been a big crud year -- I haven't seen that many reports, anyway -- so of course I got sick. That's pretty much the only downside of this year's Anthrocon, which was otherwise pretty extraordinary.

Thanks to all of you who dropped by out table in the Dealer's Room! If the display looked a little sparse, that's because we were already selling out of certain titles by the middle of Friday afternoon, despite bringing as much stock as we could fit in our luggage. I brought about 150 copies all told, and went home with about 15. Despite being limited by lack of stock, it was our best sales year ever. Next year, we will definitely have to ship additional books before the con.

Thanks again for the support! Things are going to be a little quiet on the Jarlidium front through the summer and fall as I get the website redone, and then spend a couple months working on other projects, but in the winter we will have a steady stream of new titles coming out, so stay tuned!

Also, if you want to see Scavengers #5, let  Flinters know. He has a plot now, he just needs to script it and actually draw it...

A bit less than two week from now, we will be set up at K12/K13, right along the central aisle in the Anthrocon dealer's room, right next to  Flinters at K13/K14.

Then, in mid-August, we will be at Rocky Mountain Fur Con in Denver! They don't have a room map up yet, but we'll be there somewhere.

We applied for a table at FC2016 and were turned down, which marked the end of a long streak, being the first FC ever that we didn't have a table. It also made a hard decision much easier.

Sales at FC have been trending downwards for years, to the point that I had to wonder if we should keep going. With no table in 2016, we were able to go to BLFC instead, where we had no trouble getting a table and made just as much money as we have been at FC. It's also a growing con and a shorter drive.

Due to limited vacation time, we can go to one or the other, but not both. Under the circumstances, we have to favor BLFC. We will not be applying for a table at FC2017.

Here's what's going on between now and Further Confusion:

* "Starlite Gardens", a 24-page comic from  Dustmeat, is getting close to being ready to print.

* North American Fur #30 has been postponed to next summer due to scheduling issues. Look for it at Anthrocon!

* Scavengers #4 is also postponed.  Flinters has been posting pages on his FA as he gets them done, but doesn't have enough for a book yet.

* On the other hand,  Flinters is looking at putting together an art collection book in time for Further Confusion. Stay tuned!

* Squeak! #5 and Xfrmations Unlimited #6 depend on whether  Flinters receives enough content to fill the book. It's down to the wire with about a week before deadline. Please contact him for more definite information or if you have something you'd like to send in.

* The Complete YARF! volume 3 is still on schedule to debut at Further Confusion.

Rainfurrest is over and the numbers say it was a pretty decent con for us, which just shows how wide of the mark an impression can be. Sales may have felt slow, but the numbers say that we sold a good bunch of books! Also, the dealer's room did not flood, despite threatening to, and we got to say hello to a number of NAF members and other folks we have worked with over the years.

One of them was  PORTZEBIE -- and we discussed the possibility of doing an ArtZone with him next year.

Also, I have been an admirer of Dewey Teagarden by  Chromatophore for some time now, so I was excited to notice that our table was back-to-back with Chromatophore's -- and then confused when an artist who I've known for some time (by a different name) showed up and sat there! It's a small world sometimes. Anyway, that made it easier to float the idea of doing a Dewey Teagarden book next year.

Also also, we have been tossing around the idea of introducing a tentacle-themed anthology to run beside Squeak! and Xfrmations Unlimited. I see enough tentacle art here on FA to believe that we could come up with the content for such a book, but the $4 question is, how many people would buy it? Opinions welcome!

Setup starts tonight, and tomorrow we will be there selling books, next to  Flinters!

Also, until I can find a new printer, we have five copies left of Endtown volume 1, and volume 2 is pretty limited too.

All preordered copies are in the mail, thanks to a very patient clerk at the post office. I think the receipt is about fifteen feet long all told.

We have received an ETA from the printer for the main shipment of Endtown volumes 3 and 4, and expect to be shipping preordered copies starting on the 22nd.

Time for us to start making our way out to Pittsburgh, to meet up with our stock courtesy of a loyal minion, and hopefully sell some of it!

Stop by our table (K13) in the middle of the dealer's room, right next to  Flinters at K12. We have Endtown volumes 3 and 4 for an at-con special price, or we can make you a deal for all four volumes! We also have a new adventure with the ROOMIES gang from Flinters, just $4!

Preorders for Endtown volumes 3 and 4 by  Aaron_Neathery close at midnight Pacific Time on Saturday the 22nd. Get them while they're hot! After this, it's going to be a few months before they're available again (unless you find us at a con), while we find a new printer and/or format that will allow us to sell the books through our retail partners (Rabbit Valley, Second Ed, Amazon) without losing our shirts.

Speaking of cons, we will be at Anthrocon at table K13 in the Dealer's Room, right next to  Flinters. The printers continue to assure me that we will have the limited edition copies of Endtown 3 and 4 in time for the con. Fingers crossed!
