Posted 12 years agoTaking my heart Meds again so that means I'm dreaming weird stuff again... I had a Dream last night where two twin kids where saving some people and running in a sewer and a frog monster swallowed one of the kids whole (and bit off his left leg and ate that too). The other twin kid kept running to save the rest of the people despite probably being able to save his brother by cutting the giant frogs belly but ehh it was a dream. Damn Heart Meds make me dream weird stuff.

alot of things we guessed about the darker side of the Pokemon World and games.
And even Shows Red's charizard getting Mega X evolution (which shouldn't happen in Origin
since it takes place during Pokemon R/B and not X/Y but who cares) in an epic fihgt vs.....
well that would be telling
And no I haven't seen it yet, just saw alot of spoiler gifs on Tumblr.

So I got a rejection letter for our next book Dragonlast. :/ a bit of fustration.
This is the email I got From Diamond:

It appears to be a title that would succeed in overseas markets and not in comic shops in the United States. We have seen comparable material solicited through Previews and retailers which have not been supported by retailers. At this point this is not something we would be willing to list.
The book feels very condensed. There does not seem to be much character development. The framing device with the old man who is telling the story to a group of children feels awkward because it takes the reader completely out of the story. There are times when the book does not feel that it is paced at the same tempo. A reader might be reading along with pages where there are sparse amounts of text and then they will hit a wall of text.
This title really feels more like a manga in the art style and story telling. Some companies have tried to recreate the success of manga titles but when the books are from the United States, historically, we have those titles not supported by retailers.

This greatly interfears with our Fall listings. As the other books are still not yet ready, and Evil Diva is taking a break for the new artist to catch up and to figure out how to make sure #3 sells as good as #1.

Posted 12 years agoBelive it or not I've been drawing alot lately. Some of it even decent. Just been drawing on pen and paper, and to tired after work to scann them. I tend to sleep way to much now. Something's not right. I hardly work, and I'm tired and just sleep.
Its slowing me down to get stuff done for AVP, and just my own desire to get my art and comic started.

Methyl isocyanate (MIC) is extremely toxic. The threshold limit value set by the American Conference on Government Industrial Hygienists is 0.02 ppm. MIC is toxic by inhalation, ingestion and contact in quantities as low as 0.4 ppm.
Keep reading it gets better... Its also the chemical responsible for this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_disaster

Sooo what I've been up too...
Posted 12 years agoBit of a long story. ^_^ but overall ok. Busy with comic company stuff. Everything is late, and people are upset. XD
Trying my best but its so hard and ugh so expensive.
Last week I did a mostly last min trip to Anthrocon in Pittsburgh since most of the
company hasn't seen me in 4 years and that's the easiest way for them to see me
(the guys have been worried about me since my heart issues started thanks to
the chemicals at my job at G.E. giving me a heart problem).
So I was at Anthrocon last weekend, and the weekend prior to that, a guy who worked with
James Cameron to secure the "Battle Angel" manga license contacted me about
doing a book with him based on a script he sent to 20th Century Fox. That
sounds exciting, but I haven't heard from him since.
He wanted to meet
up with me at Anime Expo last weekend but I had already had plans for Anthrocon
(and besides getting yet another ticket last min and one to California would have
been hela expensive). I still haven't heard back from him since however. :/
Saw
jayaxer and 
kamicheetah for the first time in years. They where happy to see me
but not so happy to hear about my situation. They chewed me out a bit. :P But only
because they cared. Thanks guys. :)
Most of the people who haven't seen me in years noticed how I didn't look
quite the same. Sure its been 4 years, but at the same time I guess I shouldn't

While I was still a broke poor ass Teacher in 2009 (the last time most people

To an equally broke ass G.E. employee XD (well only broke because
now that the company is doing err "better"? its now even more expensive

To well I don't have a more recent picture but Apparently my face looks very skinny
from stress while my body has gotten a little chubby (for me that is) due to lack of
physical activity. Teaching Job I run around town to 2-3 schools aday having to keep
up with hyper 6-16 year olds. To Working at G.E. where work around some not so
nice stuff with 50-80 year olds who tell me to "slow down you're working to fast"
XD
While I was away at Anthrocon, another movie guy contacted me about his script/comic.
Since hes a bit smaller he's been in contact of course since working with me/US
at AVP would be a boon to him if everything works out.
And on Wednesday a professional ad agency that works with Hollywood wanted to contact
me about turning our comics into Online games (but for online casino's so
not that cool, but still if it happens that would be money for us).
However I haven't heard back from them ether about the games. Some of the guys
where like "OMG they contacted you" and I was like yeah who are these guys?
and Apparently they are a big deal with Sports and acting and other Hollywood shit.
Still I never heard of them and they haven't emailed or called back. :/
I've also been drawing, well in pencil, still need to practice my digital drawing.
I'll try to scan up everything later.
Been busy trying to get the last 500 Evil Diva #1's in hand, they are waiting for me
at a dock in Boston, but I also have to wait until the shipper releases them. I was first told one thing and all I had to do is pay a release fee, which I did, but once I got there I had to go to customs to have them release it. However that should have already happens in NYC when customs got a hold of the books there. Anyway Customs then said oh since I could possibly make money off these books I need to hire a Customs Broker so they can help me figure out what taxes, bonds, and tariffs I will owe the U.S. Government. Then once I pay for all of that, I can then have customs give me a release form, so I can go to the warehouse and pay them to release the remaining Evil diva books to me.
Now no one has given me an idea of how much this will cost, but its surely more than the "oh it'll only cost an extra $300" the printer told me it will be. This is the same who is "located" in Florida, but prints in China and caused my huge delay and extra expense for Evil Diva #1 and Possibly hurt sales for Evil diva #2 and SWIPE #1 due to the book being late.
And with all that I'm still doing my day job, helping take care of my mom, and other issues with family. But hey
believe it or not... Things are better than they used to be. O_O
So yep thats what I've been up too. I'll try to scan some "art" later, but now I'm going to treat my slelf
and see Pacific Rim.

Posted 12 years agoCleaning and I found all my old art. 90's stuff too when I was a teen. Oh god why. How could anyone with a straight face ever have the Gaul to say to my face that any of this was even good or decent. ughh. Then I kept looking ehh not so bad,(early 2000's) wow this is good. OH WOW I DREW LIKE THIS ONCE(Mid2000's)!?! and then Ughh terrible again (2007-now) :/

SOme good News! (and a little bad) From Diamond for AVP.
Posted 12 years agoUGHh FINALY.. Just got word that Evil Diva #1 hit stores yesterday, after delays and delays from the printer. It really messed up alot of things planed. Figures our first outing with Diamond Previews and something goes wrong. After having such good pre-order numbers too.
Now on the slightly bad news. I also just got word that our 2nd listing was a bit worse than our first listing.. Like
really worse. Like only 90 Books for Evil Diva #2 and 123 for SWIPE #1 bad. Ughh yeah So got to turn that around
ASAP really fast to keep the company going. If you'd like to help (and I would love the help) You can
still order copies of Evil Diva #2 and SWIPE #1 between now and the end of July. If they get A LOT higher
then Diamond will be pleased, and if they are pleased the company lives another few months.

Now on the slightly bad news. I also just got word that our 2nd listing was a bit worse than our first listing.. Like
really worse. Like only 90 Books for Evil Diva #2 and 123 for SWIPE #1 bad. Ughh yeah So got to turn that around
ASAP really fast to keep the company going. If you'd like to help (and I would love the help) You can
still order copies of Evil Diva #2 and SWIPE #1 between now and the end of July. If they get A LOT higher
then Diamond will be pleased, and if they are pleased the company lives another few months.

Posted 12 years agoUghh the never ending panic attack continues... Today's "not good for Jason's Mental health issue... Comics! They "SHOULD" be leaving the printer now. They where due at shops on the 24th of April. The printer which is based in America has all the work done in China! @#$@# AGHHHH won't be useing these guys agian. Have untill the 24th Of May to get there or @#$king fubar.
Already have on my mind my own health issues, as well as finding out my Aunt Has Terminal cancer and probably doesn't have long to live, and my cousin spent the weekend in the hospital with his own heart issue now (though he cracked a joke about him "Still functioning" like Megatron). Kickstarter stuff is Late or "close to late", our 2nd listing in Diamond Previews is out but with the first book not even in stores, their goes possible momentum to build off of, and the constant other background Real life issues.
I need to tap out, and need a tag team partner to tag in. T_T

Angry Viking Press is a small comic book company, recently offered to be covered by Diamond Distribution in their Previews books, which are available at comic stores. However, this coverage and exposure comes at a cost, which is the requirement that AVP sell a certain number of books in order to stay in the Previews catalogs and to continue to be carried by Diamond. Now, for the big comic companies, this isn't an issue. They print up thousands of issues of multiple titles every month, and they have a wide fan base to help support those numbers and keep them listed. But AVP is much smaller than those companies, and it relies very much on the support of its artists and its fans. If the artists do not advertise the upcoming books to the fans, then AVP will have a difficult time getting the sales required to stay with the larger distributor.
Likewise, if the fans are not able (or willing) to purchase the books being produced, this can result in the company being dropped by Diamond (which would make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to reach such a large audience). This, in turn, could result in the company having to cease production of their books, which would mean folks would no longer be able to read about the adventures of their favorite characters.
Now, the "Skunkworks" book has been covered, but future books such as "Penance" and the "Caterwaul" series, not to mention the various assorted titles by the other artists in the company, may never see the light of day if the company gets dropped. The amount of exposure that Diamond can provide is necessary for AVP's continued success. The sales of the books are also mandatory to the company's continued existence. I realize a lot of folks would rather just get the scanned books off some media sites, but that sort of behavior is actually going to harm the company. If no money is generated by sales, then the artists do not get paid, the books do not get published, Diamond does not advertise the books anymore, and the company ends up folding. It's not a good thing. Many people state piracy/not paying for stuff is the way things are these days, but that sort of practice does have very negative effects on new stuff being produced. Hell, just look at what I'm churning out these days as an example. No prints, no portfolios, no more printed material, nada. It cost me money and time to make it, and if there's nothing coming back in, it becomes a money pit and a waste of time.
But I digress. As fans of these comics, help us keep these stories going! Believe me, the artists want to keep making these books, but it's a bit of an uphill battle that neither the artists, the writers, nor the company itself can hope to win without the support of the fans. So please, let your local stores know about these books, ask about them whenever you visit the shops, tell your friends, and place your orders for the comics. I'll admit I stopped reading comics back in the late 1990's, but I will do whatever I can to help AVP get these books out and exposed. This means I will also be buying every book they make, not simply for support, but to also see what the other artists are doing. A machine can only work if all the required pieces are working together and moving towards the same goal.

Posted 12 years agoToday was the Boston Marathon and just afew min ago two explosions went off. Unknown if its a Gas leak (very possible in Boson) or a bombing. :/
