I love the serious emoticon , because sometimes I use to to mean "deadpan" when I tell a joke. I think its hilarious with that look on the face after a funny line, but I'm not sure people get it. What does mean to you? Does it work as deadpan or do you think people actually think I'm being serious and might get offended?

I'm sure some of you know that Jaspian will be featured as a character in the furry erotic card game Furoticon. Card art is being provided by  darkzel (thanks! Its looking good so far! -^.^-).... but I've also been asked to provide "flavor" and I'm looking for suggestions.

Before anyone starts talking about Orange Creamsicles, by "flavor" I mean the little bit of descriptive text on cards after all the stats and abilities, usually something about the character or item or place on a card that's significant. Sometimes its a quote... but its usually a 1 or 2 sentence description to give the character on the card.... well.... a little flavor.

Before I get a lot of really cute and silly sexy answers, I should probably mention that I'm being completely serious. Non-furry friends and family have asked me what I would like and I have no clue. Now that I have a decent job, I can pretty-much buy anything I want for under a hundred bucks without too much hesitation, and obviously I can't ask for anything too-too expensive....

(Just an FYI - this isn't the FOXmas *convention* which is still in the process of recovering from when the hotel pulled the carpet out from under us. Hopefully we'll get that back on its feet some day (or year) soon... )

Today I've gotten my 1000th watcher on this FA account! Its  tiziu who, from his icon, appears to be a Brazilian fur who likes to watch and fave everything. O well. :P I like his dancing raccoon icon.

So tonight I am milking whats left of the weekend and staying up all night. Then I'm gonna go to work crazy-early and leave crazy-early and then to go bed. Such extreme measures are necessary due to my sleep patterns being disrupted from Halloween parties.

Sorry for missing Furfright. I know some furs were looking forward to hanging out there.... but I really dislike that con. Its just soooo laaaame. Its so cool that their biggest party last year was CAKE CON. That is... a party... where people eat cake. If that's the best thing going on at a con at night, that convention is unsalvageable,

At least if I don't go, I can go to some real parties. Furfright is run like its for little children who all have to be in bed by 10 pm. Makes me sad that they were the first to think of having a Halloween-themed furry con, (Halloween being the sexiest of all holidays,) which they then proceeded to neuter after they moved it out of the Bradley Sheridan.

I'm quite pleased about this... but Mr. Rush picked my submission for the 40 Hz Gypsy remix contest track. Not to sound conceited, but I am not surprised at all by this. I knew it was gonna win because it came out ridiculous. Plus, all the folk I sent it to for crits were like "WTF u made this? Can I give it to people?"

I am working on a couple other tracks.... trying to push out one a month. So far I'm already behind because I missed an August 31 release and I'm unlikely to make up the slack in September. But its hard to keep rolling on music with so many other things going on.

One of these days, I'll get my FA music profile up and running so you guys can actually hear my choons. Until then... I dunno. :P "Stay chooned" I guess.

Sex Fighter update: I'm going forward with it... tentatively at first. Checking out a few technologies before I invest a lot of my own money. I've got an A-list artist lined up and a part-time developer in addition to myself. I'll probably be looking for more help as I start to realize what else I need.

I found out tonight something that I should have suspected all along. Notice when you complete Starcraft2, even including "choice" missions, the counter of how many missions you've completed doesn't reach 100% (its something like 25/26).

I thought this was just a bug in the game. Turns out, there's a secret mission - and it gets worse. You can't unlock the secret mission by replaying the mission where you unlock it. You have to start over from the beginning, and unlock the mission the first-time-through.

Worse still is that the secret mission contains information that advances the main plot.

Those devious Blizzard bastards!

Anyway - word has it that the way to complete this mission is to destroy a specific building on Korhol during the rampage of Thor (or Odin or whatever its called) sequence. Then when you complete the mission, this new mission becomes unlocked.

Guess how I'll be spending my weekend? :/

As I'm sure many of you are well-aware at this point, I commissioned an idea from  Bonk awhile back depicting a sexual "fighting" game, which he finally published yesterday ( its up at: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4303011 ). Perhaps I was selling the idea short a little bit, I knew that a few furs would say "This game should be made real". Perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised, but the number of people saying that the game needs to be made far exceeded my expectations.

And so.... I am seriously considering actually doing it. But I need some advice to help keep me centered on this, and so I'm hoping you will take some time and answer some questions I have about your personal tastes.

1. (The Obvious) - Do you think this would be a worthwhile project for me to pursue? Will people play it, or do you think it will be a waste of time and effort?

2. If it meant better graphics and smoother gameplay, would you be willing to download this game? Or should it be 100% flash-based?

3. Would you pay money for this game, if it meant higher quality? (Money means I can hire content creators)

4. Most likely the game would be for computer only, at least initially. This limits the interfaces I can support. Would you prefer keyboard sharing controls, or LAN play? Can you think of a better UI system?

5. Would you be willing to donate, or invest in this game, to see that it gets created? If so, as an investor, what would you consider an acceptable return for your investment?

6. I am almost 100% sure that I will not call the final game "Sex Fighters". Any ideas on titles? I thought "Street Yiffer" might be OK, but that kind-of implies that all of the locations are public. Perhaps just "Yiffer" or "Yiff - the Game"? Any ideas would be appreciated.

These are some of the questions I am currently dealing with. If you have an opinion, please let me know what you think, even if (ESPECIALLY if) you think your opinion is contrary to what I want to hear.

I've decided to nix the "controversial" Jaspian outfit on the grounds that it might offend some people. While I do think some people really need a wet slap, I also acknowledge that I don't need them as my enemies and so I'll probably just wear the new show costume again. This will be interesting in AC's elevators....

I'll be arriving sometime on either Thursday or Friday (depending on how tired I am after work on Wednesday) and I'll be staying in the Westin as a roommate of  taridium .

Don't you just hate how much stuff you have to do to stay current with your FA? Its totally too much of a good thing. Every day I have like 100 new images to look at, people watching me, journals to read...

.... believe it or not I'm almost "caught up". I've thanked everybody who watches me (if I missed you, I'm sorry!) and checked out the thousands of images, music tracks, and stories and all the other great stuff that you guys have posted, and read scores of journal entries.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the great producers of furry culture.

Also - I am planning to attend AC. I'll be wearing my most controversial outfit so far. Should be interesting to see the reaction...

For those of you who know me iRL, you know I see a *lot* of movies. This is because my best friend is a film major, and he drags me out to the opening of just about any film that you can imagine.

Since so much of my time is spent watching film, I started a little column in my LJ called "Fennec Film Review". To my surprise a lot of my friends told me that they read the reviews and enjoyed them. Over time, I started to make it more elaborate, putting up the poster of the film I was reviewing etc etc.

... to my dismay, this caused something unexpected... I discovered that searches for "Jaspian" on Google started to appear displaying movie posters!

And so, hopefully this will resolve that... along with any potentially regrettable legal consequences for posting movie posters that don't belong to me... I've changed the column to a new format.

Wow... I am surprised how slow my fennec brain can be at times because, after watching How To Train Your Dragon in 3D IMAX, it never occurred to me that there would be so much Furry Pr0n made out of it.

This is probably because so little furry pr0n was generated from some of the other characters in film whom I felt for sure would become ubiquitous in furry art... such as the Na'vi from Avatar and some of the Avatar animals, Aslan a few years ago, etc etc etc.

I don't know how I feel about Toothless pr0n. The first time I saw the movie I didn't even think of that. Guess I should go back and watch :P

Just wanted to make an announcement in case anybody is interested that myself and some of my friends will be hosting a Carnival-themed party at FWA, probably on Friday.

In other news, working with Fuzzwolf last night, we got FOXmas's webspace up and running, which also features Bonk art ( http://www.foxmas.com ) as a placeholder for what will hopefully be a useful and informative website on the most important event in Furry history: FOXmas 2009. Think I am kidding? Just playing up my own con? I AM. But I am not lying. FOXmas will prove the greatest thing to hit the fandom since hotel pizza delivery was discovered. In what way? You'll have to come and see. I am not joshing you - it will be an experience of epic proportions. We at the Frozen Oasis know how to throw a party better than anyone ;)

Lil extra info: FOXmas is strictly 18+ . It will be held in Rochester NY on Dec 12 2009, but we have activities the following day. Reg opens Dec 11, and we will have stuff to do, but Friday will be casual. We're kinda treating this as a mini-con. Admission is $20 currently if you pre-reg. For $5 more you can get unlimited free drinks on Saturday night (the night of the party).

Also - Knotcast is doing a fundraiser for us so we can get things like extra cables, decorations, reg machines, etc. Please contribute if you can. (I will post a link once I know where it is!)

I just realized I can watch myself on FA.... I am hesitant to see what will happen if I do. Sounds like the kind of thing that could rip a hole in the universe into a reality made entirely of raspberry jelly or some other unpredictable horror.

Yeah, apparently I've not got very much of interest on my FA 'cuz just about everybody I know has well-over 1000. But I'm happy about it anyways. (I've really only been posting to my FA for about a year, so I suppose it's not THAT bad)

Do you guys think that better technology makes better art possible?

Maaaan I really want to add more stuff to my FA, but it takes like FOREVER to get anything done. Everything gets to the brink of being done but then is on pause for months and months because of some tiny last detail that I need to make it perfect....


Oh well, such is the story of everything, right? If you want to do something worthwhile its never easy, because if it were easy, everybody would do it and it wouldn't be worthwhile anymore, right?


So I am sitting on a bunch of tracks now, almost-complete, waiting for licensing to go through. The sampling laws right now are ridiculous. It's crazy how independent musicians (like myself) can't sell tracks with samples in them without acquiring expensive licenses from big faceless corporations who otherwise wouldn't even know that we exist, then they charge exorbitant prices that a "little guy" is unlikely to ever make up in sales....

But then again, an underground musician shouldn't expect to make much, I don't suppose. It's more of a hobby than a career. Maybe I should just think of licenses as a motorcycle enthusiast thinks of new chrome doohickies, or a golf enthusiast thinks of a new club?
