April 2019 Update! Lots of Exciting News!!

We have just over a week before we head to Motor City Furry Convention (www.motorcityfurrycon.org) and have our lovely set up in dealers den! We will be at table V2. We will have a large assortment of tails, gauntlets, and drawstring bags. We may or may not take some small custom orders (still unsure on it). If you're going to the convention and wanted some stuff, this is your only chance to get something immediately pay with cash/card!

We are in the secondary smaller room!
As with all other events, we do not sell everything at the convention. We are 99% sure we will have left overs, however, we have a different plan with this year's leftovers.
After holding a poll on our Facebook page, we received a 66% vote that most enjoy matching tail and gauntlet sets. So! We will be making matching items to the leftovers. Ex: A stand alone fire themed tail with get a matching fire themed gauntlet pair made to sell with it. We will not be doing this with every single left over project but expect a lot of sets! Tail and gauntlet sizes will vary. Most will be small and medium tails with small to large gauntlets. There will be some clawed pairs!
Due to having to make these matching items while also working on our custom queue, the stock drop date for them is being pushed to May instead of immediately after the convention.
The next stock drop date is tentatively set for:
Sunday, May 5th at 3pm , Eastern Standard Time (Michigan, USA).
You are responsible for your own timezone conversions. As always, we will give you guys a 1 week and 1 day reminder notification. Make sure our emails are going to your inbox and not spam/promotions.
Along with the stock drop of left over items discussed above, we will be opening for a large variety of custom gauntlets on Etsy! We are trying something new with these though. Instead of asking for a yarn and scale color, we will have drop downs for the desired scale color and sizing of your hands. Yarn colors will be a default color specified in the listing.
Here are some items we have in mind to list:
Small Gauntlets (You pick scale color, yarn colors will be black)
Medium Gauntlets (Pick scale color, yarn is black)
Large Unclawed Half Wrap Gauntlets (Pick scale color, yarn is black)
Large Unclawed Half Wrap Gauntlets (Pick scale color, yarn will match the scales)
Large Clawed Half Wrap Gauntlets (Pick scale color, yarn and finger scales will be black, claws are bone white)
The amount of slots per these listings is still to be determined. Obviously, the bigger the project, the less amounts of slots we can offer. As per all of our past stock drops, this is all first come, first serve.
In addition to these simple custom slots, we may or may not offer some artistic liberty designs to choose from and you select the sizing you need them in. Here is an example of what the listing design could look like:
Whatever is on the coloring sheet is exactly what you would get. In the notes section, we will be noting what the yarn and claw colors will be.
Hand/Arm sizing will be via our specific measurement sizing. A table and diagram will be provided in the Etsy listings and we will put it in our reminder announcements so you have time to measure your arms to our instructions. Overall, sizes available will be for adults only.

For those anxiously awaiting on our big custom commission opening, we do not have a specific date for those yet. We are thinking a June or July opening and it depends on how well we are able to get through our current queue. Typically, when we get down to 2-4 slots left to complete, we like to reopen for customs as the materials for new projects take 3-5 weeks to be delivered.
Once we have a better idea of when we are ready to open for more complex customs, we will try to give a minimum of 2 weeks notice.

Learning from our last customs opening, we will be extending our times to put in an application. Last time, we opened twice for 1 hour each, received 30 applications and accepted 16 of those.
This time, we will keep the applications open for 24 hours straight! All applications received will get an equal opportunity for consideration. 1 person may submit 1 application. We plan on taking 15-25 slots in that opening to keep us busy for summer/early autumn! If you want something for Christmas, this is the opening to apply for!
Right before sending out this announcement, we drastically lowered our prices in our Etsy shop for all our traditional items! Everything is now $3-8! Any left over traditional items will be taken with us to MCFC for super cheap prices. Anything left over from that will *not* be relisted to Etsy. We will be donating the items to some sort of local organization in our area afterwards. We are just trying to get rid of these old traditional items and wanted to give you guys the opportunity to get some super cheap handmade hats/scarves/etc.

Next Custom Opening and Stock Drop Info!

Hello everyone!
We are almost all set for next weekend's custom commission opening! Our forms are pretty much ready to go and we wanted to allow those interested to go ahead and do the bulk of the reading before we open so the process goes a little quick for those applying. Here is some additional information for those who would like to be extra prepared!

The forms will be opened up 2 times, 1 hour each. We hope this helps with all the different time-zones and we apologize if it isn't super ideal for everyone. There is NO LIMIT to how many request forms we are accepting, so please use up most of the hour if you need to and make sure you are putting in accurate information!
The form will be opened on February 3rd from 2-3pm AND February 4th from 2-3am, Eastern Standard Time!
Overall, we are unsure how many large projects we are taking. We are waiting to hear on whether or not we are vending an event. We are anticipating no more than 10 large slot accepts. We do plan on having a summer opening event as well.
We are limiting what people may request due to the high demand. 1 Person may fill out 1 form total (not 1 of each form). 1 Person may request the following:
1) 2 pairs of clawed or unclawed gauntlets
2) 2 scale tails
3) 1 pair of gauntlets, 1 scale tail
Those supporting us on Patreon will be given special opportunities for the custom opening! They will be given special non-public access to their own versions of the same 4 forms for an extended time period.
+$10 Tier Patrons will get the form opened from February 3rd at 2pm and closed at February 4th at 3 am (essentially have 13 hours to submit their form).
Depending on what is requested, 2-4 patron requests will be reviewed and selected before the general public. If you would like to become a patron and have access to this opportunity, you can sign up now all the way up to Feb 3rd to have access! https://www.patreon.com/JayeCreations

We are also implementing we offered in our last opening called a Substitute Option. Essentially, we can only take so many large custom projects but we also want to try to take as many slots as possible. Right now we are still waiting on hearing on whether or not we we got a vending spot at a convention. So we are unsure on how much work we can take in this customs opening. This Substitute Option is at the bottom of all the large project forms. In case we cannot take your large project (if you are requesting a large one), and you would still like a little project, you can request 1 of the following:
1) Small Gauntlets
2) Medium Gauntlets
3) Large Half Wrap Unclawed Gauntlets
4) Small Tail
5) Medium Tail
All of these are projects we can complete within 1 day once supplies are in and great for us to work in between large projects (gives our hands a break). Obviously, if you are requesting one of these items in your primary request, you do not need to request a substitute.
These Substitute Options can still have intricate color patterning. It has been common in the past for people to create condensed versions of their larger projects. However, because they are designed to be quick to make, we do have limitations on patterning and they go as follows:
1) Solid 1 scale color, 1 yarn color
2) Gradient - Equal Quantity Split of Colors (Ex: 50% red, 50% black OR 33% white, 33% blue, 33%green, etc)
3) Randomized - Equal Quantity Split of Colors
4) Custom Coloring Sheet

Gauntlets best fit the following measurements:
Across palm: 3.5-4inches
Around wrist: 6-7inches
Around forearm: 10-12inches
Glove size: Adult Medium-Large
Scales are light weight anodized aluminum from theringlord.com. Claws are resin and spikes are rubber from Dream Vision Creations. Everything is hand knit and sewn together by us!
Tail weighs around 2lbs, gauntlets are around 1.25lb per arm. All very light weight and jingly! Scaletail is also filled with polyfil so it is also squishy and flexible. Tail took ~8 labor hours and gauntlets took ~9 labor hours per arm.
Buyer is responsible for all shipping fees. Shipping fees are not included in the auction price.
Auction winner has 72 hours to auction end to claim this set. We will attempt contact to winner. If winner cannot be contacted after 72 hours, we will relist the auction.
This is for indoor costume usage only. This is not armor or used for defense purposes.

Custom Commissions are now closed! We would like to say a big thank you to our 32 applicants!!!
This was our last opening in 2018. We are waiting on a decision from Midwest FurFest regarding a dealers den spot but after this custom batch is done, we will be switching to premades only. This is so we are not adding stress during our senior project college classes.

Custom Openings Announcement

First and foremost, we have confirmed our next custom opening! We are ahead of our schedule right now with playing catch up on our current queue. So we are going to open a little early so we can get a supplies order in.
The next custom commission will be: JUNE 7TH-10TH, 2018.
Emailing List participants will get the form links on Thursday, June 7th, 24 hours before the general public. The general public will have access to it on the 8th. The forms will close at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time, June 10th.

After review of the forms, for those who are accepted, 50% down payments will be due by 11:59pm EST, Sunday, June 17th. If everyone gets their payments in before that, we order supplies even earlier!
Here is our we determine our queue, which is why it is a little important to get your forms in/why the emailing list gets perks.
Although we hand pick what request forms we accept, we contact those accepted in order of the forms submitted. Our queue placement is based on when we receive the 50% down payments. So if you are a fast communicator and have your payment ready, you may be placed higher in the queue.
This will be a significant custom opening, we will be taking anywhere from 10-20 slots, depending on what people are wanting. As always, if everyone is wanting huge projects, we have to take less as we do not want more than 4-5 months of work at a time.
If you have not gotten a quote already and want one, we suggest you fill out a quote form sooner rather than later. Even if you do not submit a quote form, we suggest glancing at it if you are new to our system. Our quote form is a watered down version of our commission request form. This announcement is very important in that it is going to affect our entire business and possible future.
Due to collegiate obligations/priorities, We Will Not Be Taking Any More Customs After This June Opening Until Further Notice.
This does NOT mean we are halting scalemail work. We will continue to be knitting scalemail, and it will most likely be larger projects that we sell on Etsy or put them up for Auction.
The reasoning behind this are simple personal matters. We are going into our very last semester for our undergraduate degree with a very demanding class schedule. We do not want to take on commissions and be stressing to get that out the door while trying to get through 3 senior level classes. We would rather it be stress relieving breaks from our homework, so we would be working at a slower pace on artistic liberty projects that we have had in mind for awhile.
We are very sorry for this inconvenience. We are aware that there may be many who have been waiting for an opening from us and we apologize that we will not be able to accept everyone.
Going even further into the future, we literally have no idea what to expect in 2019. We have no intention of quitting scalemail, however, we do not know what the future as for us. We will be trying to get a job/internship with what we went to college for as a priority. If we can get settled somewhere and know we will be in that area for 6+ months, we may open back up for commissions. When we find out what our plans are, as always, we will be notifying this emailing list.
During this time of just premade objects, we may or may not take color requests or opening for 1 -2 slots at a time if we do not have any ideas. However, we cannot guarantee anything since we have no idea what is going to happen.

Custom Openings Announcement

First and foremost, we have confirmed our next custom opening! We are ahead of our schedule right now with playing catch up on our current queue. So we are going to open a little early so we can get a supplies order in.
The next custom commission will be: JUNE 7TH-10TH, 2018.
Emailing List participants will get the form links on Thursday, June 7th, 24 hours before the general public. The general public will have access to it on the 8th. The forms will close at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time, June 10th.

After review of the forms, for those who are accepted, 50% down payments will be due by 11:59pm EST, Sunday, June 17th. If everyone gets their payments in before that, we order supplies even earlier!
Here is our we determine our queue, which is why it is a little important to get your forms in/why the emailing list gets perks.
Although we hand pick what request forms we accept, we contact those accepted in order of the forms submitted. Our queue placement is based on when we receive the 50% down payments. So if you are a fast communicator and have your payment ready, you may be placed higher in the queue.
This will be a significant custom opening, we will be taking anywhere from 10-20 slots, depending on what people are wanting. As always, if everyone is wanting huge projects, we have to take less as we do not want more than 4-5 months of work at a time.
If you have not gotten a quote already and want one, we suggest you fill out a quote form sooner rather than later.
