Posted 16 years agoI just want to say, Thank you. All those people watching me here, everyone who gave me comments, and everyone that viewed and didn't do a damn thing (though you should have >:( ) thank you so very much. Because of you, I got one of my submissions to 50+ views... and I know that's not a whole lot, but still, that's more views than I ever had on submissions previous.
To me, this is a stepping stone, and I feel good about it. So, i wanted to say thank you.
and I did.
Go away.

Posted 16 years agoI have a serious hero, who died a tragic death far before his time. Arguably the greatest martial artist of -all time-, Bruce Lee, who passed away July 20th, 1973 due to an extreme sensibility to a muscle relaxant gave to him by a friend to relieve a headache. His brain swelled by 13% its original size. The world heralded this as the end of a great age, and the start of a darker one, because of one mans death. Creator of Jeet Kune Do, The Way of the Intercepting Fist, and director of some of the best martial arts films to hit the silver screen, I am proud to call this man my hero. Throughout his life, he's passed wisdom down to countless students and the world abroad, and the words of that wisdom that follow are the ones I believe in, and work my hardest to follow (and fail at most attempts). These are not all of my hero's quotes that I personally believe in and follow, but the ones I wish to share.
“Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.”
“If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”
"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”
“Showing off is the fool's idea of glory.”
“As you think, so shall you become.”
“The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering.”
And the particular quote i -have- been living by, for better or worse
“Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not you go out and look for a successful personality an duplicate it.”
I honor the man in many minor ways. Although I don't treat my body like the temple he had, a part of my mind will always live in his philosophy, and my respect will always be his. As one of the most influential forces in my childhood development through third party media, I can almost call the man a teacher of mine. May the memory and workings of Bruce Lee live on forever immortally, for his was a life worth remembering.

Writers stuff
Posted 16 years agoGirlfriend did this so I thought I would too.
~How often do you get writer’s block?
Man I can't remember that much. Don't give me so much credit
~How do you fix it?
Fixes itself mostly. Inspiration comes in many strange... -strange- forms.
~Do you type or write by hand?
Type
~Do you save everything you write?
Unless I delete it before I finish... which happens more times than I like to admit
~Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
Honestly, only once. Hopefully that'll be the one that gets to grow up to be a novel
~Do you have a constructive critic?
Only recently, but I'm glad for what I got
~Did you ever write a novel?
Nope, but I will.
~What genre would you love to write but haven’t?
Horror and suspense
~What’s one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
Romantic Comedy
~How many writing projects are you working on right now?
Just one. I like to keep my focus narrowed
~Do you write for a living? Do you want to?
God do I want to!
~Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
Four years running got 1-3rd place in the highschool literary magazine competition, but that's about it
~Have you ever won an award for your writing?
four times.
~What are your five favorite words?
Vehemently, Titanic, Gray, Plug, Horribifuckis
~Do you ever write based on your dreams?
several times.
~Do you favor happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
Content endings, where things aren't ever the same but life goes on
~Have you ever written based on an artwork you’ve seen?
Yeah, play silent hill 2-4 if you wanna know what art I was looking at.

Change in format
Posted 16 years agoIt was pointed out to me by a fan and cohort in creativity,
ken12, that I'd probably get more views if I were to put my submissions up by just putting the story directly on FA and not requiring people to DL or load it to their computers. While this is true, I also like being able to pull things up and change the font size or other things to help me read it. At first, infringement was a serious fear of mine, but I figure if I can prove I had it first then there's no issue.
So, format change.
I'm going to be doing both. You all will have the option of DLing the story for later reading or reading in a program, or just straight getting your verbal jollies from FA itself... if I can do that. I hope I can.
That's all, laters.

New Story Series
Posted 16 years agoSome things in this world hit us harder than others, striking chords in parts of us and lighting fires in others. We call these things inspiring. What is inspiring varies from person to person, but that doesn't make the art that results any less beautiful.
I'm an -avid- fan of the series 'Sons of Anarchy'. I've watched every episode since its creation date last year. Watching the last episode of the season just now, I watched family tear apart, brothers separate, and choices made that could tear rifts the size of icebergs in all it effects... and I was inspired.
I won't quite go into detail the story behind this inspiration (in full, anyway) because I think its a bit personal, but I wanted you all to know (those lucky few watching my account) that I hope to begin work on a new short story series entitled 'Tales of John the Revelator [sp?]'. These stories will more than likely not be connected, but in the end... you never know.
I'm beggining work on them as you read this journal, so hopefully I'll have the first installment for you all to enjoy very soon.
Thanks guys. You all give me a little reason to write again.
