Something I've been doing lately that finally seems to have worked is draw in stages

Every day of the week I feel like drawing, I draw a stage in a single drawing to not keep my mind in the thought of finishing an entire drawing in one sitting (Unless it's something I REALLY want to get done)

At least with commissions it's working nicely. I do the base sketch, sketch or color stage and call it a day, it's slow but way better than giving up with an empty canvas cuz I can't wrap my head over having to do an entire thing in one go. Setting goals, even small ones is FINALLY working for me

Expect art to be slowly uploaded, I have a little backlog going and hope to keep adding to it as I work on stuff slowly, both commissions and personal art involved! I'm finally also drawing for myself

It's been so long making a journal that I forgot how

Yeah, I had been planning on uploading a few pieces and then working down my queue to upload as soon as I finished each piece but I got caught off guard last month when an interview I went to actually landed me a full time job as a graphic artist. It's been literally eating all my time and now I get either 5 hours to an hour of free time before bed, which really sucks but I was pushed into getting something with a more stable income

I'm trying somehow to get back to drawing with the tiny amount of free time I have but it's extremely hard.. I don't know if I have anything positive to say, I miss having all the free time in the world and drawing whatever whenever

Pretty much the entire planet's seismic activity decided to simultaneously concentrate on my island, Puerto Rico. I wanna believe the 6.4 we experienced a week ago was the last strong quake but we got a 5.9 today and that wasn't even the only one.. so uh.. yeah.. I'm fine, but I'm scared as heck

Soooo uh.. yeah, life update

I finally somehow managed to get a job! I went to a job fair last week and was surprised I got pulled right to recruiting after an interview I was sure was a wreck again like previous ones.. but I got a handshake and realized I was actually hired! I start tomorrow too! This would also be the reason why I was also busy this weekend, getting stuff ready with this as well as other last minute things with friends

This will most likely not affect commissions, I just had pressure from family but it makes sense, I guess. I'll make a stable (Or as stable as it gets) income with this job, still work on commissions and keep working on my 3D animation portfolio as best as I can with my team so I can then apply to animation studios on the island and move upwards on what I WANT to do

One difference this job will make is that I'll probably just be more quiet and slower than usual in private messages when I'm working, so there's that.. This is also my first official job, so I'm a bit nervous

Alright, so, I've been wondering what you guys would think of discounted stream sketches, would you attend once I announce streams?

My sketches normally go for $20, but would go for $10 in stream, and my colored sketches go for $30 but would go for $20, what do you guys think? :o

I also changed my streaming software from OBS to Streamlabs OBS and redesigned my stream, it also now has things other streamers use like donations and subs and stuff like that, I think it sounds like a fun idea and just makes me want to stream!

I woke up heavily motivated to finish my queue as fast as I can so I can get streams going again xD

After a recent Windows update, I noticed Windows Ink had automatically been turned on again on my PC. Windows Ink is a handwriting and gesture software Windows uses to allow gestures using drawing tablets. I turn this off since it enables "double clicking" with my pen in the form of tapping an area with my pen and holding down. This messes with my workflow and makes my pen lag, something I don't want when drawing

Today a friend got an issue where her Photoshop would mess up and would become unusable after a recent Windows Update. The canvas would scroll up and the pen just wouldn't work on Photoshop. I remembered my Windows Ink had turned on and told her to turn it off, this instantly fixed the issue. I didn't have an issue with ClipStudio to this magnitude but it would still do the double clicking when holding down the pen

To turn Windows Ink off, open your Wacom Preferences, go to the Pen tab, click on Mapping and at the bottom there's a box to enable or disable Windows Ink. Make sure to untick it and press okay

PLEASE let others know about this if you see that you or artist friends have an issue like this after a Windows Update. The setting is pretty hidden and might be an issue

It took a while, but I'm fully back in business!! I have power and got wifi back today, some almost 200 days after the hurricane first hit. I'm still updating things on my desktop but I can now upload freely and work on commission without any of those time limits I had before!

I finally got power the day before yesterday, but it's unsafe until it gets repaired by official restoration crews as the one that repaired it enough to be there was my uncle. It took 165 days for me to get power. Once it's fully repaired, my house will be safely connected to it but I won't have WiFi yet as my grandma needs power too.. She lives next to the repeater signal tower my WiFi antenna used to be connected to

I hope to have safe power soon and will be able to draw more often and overnight.. But I'm not sure how long WiFi will take to come back, or even know if my WiFi antenna got damaged by the hurricane

It's almost been 4 months since the hurricane and I should update here too

I had been updating on other sites but it's been hard to update here. I recently got my fast data back and have good signal, so that's good

Anyways.. Long story short, the hurricane has took away a lot from me and severely limited what I can do. I got running water again just a month and a half ago, before that we used river water, which is dangerous. Signal had been an issue and sometimes still is, food wasn't a big issue, but we got lucky.. Power.. I might not get power anytime soon.. There's no way to know.. Soon I'll be 4 months without power, and when I do, I still won't have internet service


You will notice I posted an auction some minutes ago. Money has been hard to make and drawing is very slow. We are lucky to have a generator, but we run it for a few hours a day, not 24/7. So my laptop can only be on for so long, meaning less time to draw. I have to make with what's available



Still.. We're safe, my family is okay, I'm okay, but my only way to make money is my current issue

Welp.. I will not lie, I am stressed out and scared of this one. Unlike Irma last week, this one won't graze the island, we'll be hit directly by this hurricane

It's not a nice birthday present.. but oh well..

There is a big chance I'll have to get used to life without power for a month for real this time, there is no chance I'll get power back in 11 days like what happened with Irma, there's just no way. Irma hit us with tropical storm force winds and most of the island was left without power, only damage we saw near our house were some downed trees, tilted posts and lots of leaves.. this will cause a LOT more damage than that and I'm actually scared about what it'll do to our house. It's concrete but it's been forever since I've gotten to experience such a strong hurricane do a direct hit, so I think we'll sustain some damages. We're also recovering from Irma and we still don't have a lot of food or drinking water, so we might run short

I'll have to miss Pixie and I's monthly anniversary, which really really sucks.. I did not like this in my plans and I can tell Pixie's super upset about me not being able to see him.. I really worry about him down there

This will drastically alter my whole life until things come back to normal. I'll have to go out often and do SFW commissions and my projects in fast food restaurants in the city if they have generators running

With Irma, I was without communication for around 3 days, this might take me out for a long longer. So if I cannot reply to anything, it's because I cannot use my phone. I was also running low on my high speed data for the month because of having no wifi, so that will severely affect my communication as well

But the one thing that saddens me the most is the fact that there's refugees from the islands Irma destroyed staying in Puerto Rico.. they will have to hear those winds again and I think some might have been traumatized already. It saddens me a lot

We still have the generator and will put up the shields again. We'll be safe inside, but as before.. I'll be seeing you guys sometime later

The hurricane will hit the island on September 20 at 8am but we'll start feeling the effects of it on my birthday tomorrow

I was without power for 10 days and a half, sorry! That hurricane didn't directly hit the island but the power grid is fragile as heck physically and economically, so it went down pretty bad. Some parts of the island were hit by devastating wind while others got a tiny bit but were still affected with blackouts. Millions of people here lost power! I know nearby islands fared worse but Puerto Rico has been helping with how they can, it's kinda hard helping your own country and others, aaa

Anyways, my area wasn't so important so we stayed in the dark for a lot longer than the rest, but now I'm back, but I have a problem now. I now need to rush a lot of projects and need to catch up on things I've missed. I also lost my desktop's UPS battery backup so if power goes out, my desktop will instantly shut off and I risk losing art progress if I make any, which is not good at all and those UPS systems are not cheap. We also lost a lot of food due to the fridges not having power but we can recover from that

I spent a lot of the blackout playing with my old DS Lite.. playing some Pokemon Emerald and later Pokemon Black, it was fun. I'm not sure if I'll pick it up again since I have power now though, we'll see

Either way, I'm back! And I'm definitely back in business!!

I can still upload thumbnails whenever I upload art, but they never show up.. They used to show up in the profile page of an artist or when in a drawing's page where you could see small thumbnails on the right of the images, but now it just shows a big preview of each image

If custom thumbnails are gone, why is the feature to upload thumbnails still there? It's useless now

They wanted sketch requests when they were free, so I still plan to do those. Also a few trades and collabs people wanted to do with me will still be pending until they hit me up with a note!

I am sad and frustrated that even after a 8GB upgrade and an SSD install on my laptop, it's having some trouble working on big documents over just 2K in size with my current art skill (I'm doing more post-processing on my current work)

I've worked with 2K images before, but they didn't have painted shading or glows or bloom effects and high-resolution textures that they have now

I was just working on an image right now that was just 4K for a print, saving the file takes around a minute, the lineart process isn't laggy, but I have a big preview of the image on the side and it takes forever to update

Photoshop crashes a LOT when I'm doing basic functions that SAI can do with minimal lag, but it really tugs on my workflow..

I plan to stream a lot after graduating, but wow, it's impossible, and it really saddens me

Life update, I've been dealing with 3 lab classes, which involve video editing, 3D simulations and concept art. The class most taking my time atm is.. well, all 3 combined, as of now I'm not very rushed since I'm starting my finals, which is due in a month, but I gotta get to it since it'll be 2 big projects for 3D simulations class and video editing, though I got the hand of both classes. I also have another big project for a 4th class, but it's just a business plan, it'll take a while too.

This is what's keeping me from progressing on commissions or requests, so I have those on hold. When I'm free for a weekend when my current trimester ends, I'll try to finish the 2 commissions I have atm as fast as possible, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to touch the many requests I have..
