DAY 1:
Not much to say about the first day, was actually pretty dead, ended up hanging around and talking for the most part, but was very dead. On the way home, got a fine on the train because I forgot to validate my ticket, then got hit by a dog while driving home. >_< Considered staying home for the rest of the weekend.

DAY 2 (from DA):
So I ended up dragging Shawn early this morning to the con, against his previous dissapointment about it. Started the day with an over-priced and very mediocre breakfast, and then headed down to the hotel.

We arrived at the hotel and met up with our comrades who were having a pow-wow, talking about anime, Naruto, and such high intellectual conversations us furs have. One guy had a Naruto headband, we lol'ed. One fur was sitting with an antique looking laptop,(useless tidbit of info, Shawn calls his grand-parents The Antiques) and when I crouched to get a better look at it, he began to talk to me about a fanfic he was working on. A librarian, he explained to me in great length about the intricacies of his project which honestly had me slightly creeped out. The day wasn't off to a good start.

The morning started slowly, we walked around, talked with a bunch of people, nothing particularly outstanding, but much more NORMAL, SANE, HEALTHY socializing. Contrary to yesterday, I did not have to resort to using my blue "minors" badge to protect myself. The furs seeemed much more friendlier and approachable, even Charger, our DS and rat enthusiast, was on his best behaviour.

We hung out with the goddes panda named Mangi who emanated an aura of angelic beauty and grace. he brought cheer, energy, and pep to our little posse and everyone around him, and greatly contributed to the overall atmosphere. (I want in his pants so bad lol )

We hung around the games room, and Shawn was doodling some on some pads of paper, and was feeling pretty down about the overall quality of the sketches (although still tons better than anything I can draw). As Viper was walking around the room, he noticed one of the sketches, and immediately recognized it. He at first mistook me for Shawn, but had already associated the art with a name, which surprised Shawn immensely, but should encourage him to continue drawing.

Around 3 we headed off to get grub, we were a rather large group, 7 furs, we went to Frite Alors! and got some fries and poutines (VIVRE LE QUEBEC), and Nico, my brethren who shares the same family name as me, and the same first name as my little brother, ordered himself a club which was accompanied with a mountain of fries, which he didn't finish. We ripped a bit on Shawn for being such a damn squarehead, but we still like him anyways, cuz we need someone to make fun of, right?

When we headed back, we watched the Fursuit games, which were decently amusing. The Twister game, we're sure, is simply an excuse to make a furpile. But I digress. We then brought Twister upstairs and played for a good while (MAN! can Stripes ever bend XD) We gamed and chatted with people for a while, then at 6 we headed down for the Masquerade, which was lacking in sustance, but Mangi made it entertaining. Then back up to the games room to game some more, and declared Spaceboy Fatty, a.k.a. Shawn as the WarioWare champ.

Then back onto St.Denis for supper, made Shawn try sushi and got discouraged trying to teach him to use chopsticks. It took the combined efforts of myself and Viper to attain a half-decent semblance of proper chopstick mannerism. Went to the candyshop, where Shawn proceeded to spend 20$ on fudge. Crazy mofo ate all the wasabi in one go! >_<

Finally was the dance, which assembled around 20 dancers, or in our case posers who pretended to know how to dance. Although not my kind of partying, nor Shawn's, it gave us the opportunity to fully see the extent of Nico's homosexuallity. It was a different experience, to say the least.

And now, we've taken the metro back to his place, tired from a day in the big city. Walking back to his place, Shawn kept repeating "I want to fuck a dog up the ass". I think he needs to get some sleep. (another random tidbit of info, Shawn squeaks when his feet are tickled) I know I plan to attend tomorrow, and I'll try to drag the squeaky dragon along also. DAY 3 (from Shawn's DA):
We ended up sleeping in, and only arrived at the con around noon. we chatted it up with with a dude from New York named Railride, a good artist at that. We discussed anthrocon, because a group of us are considering going down next year... well after we chatted.. we hit the games room as most people were there.. we gotta mention the hotel SUCKS the elevators are cursed/possessed, no air conditioning WORKED.. except in the games room so we chilled there [literally] where it was almost freezing [ 10*C].. while there I talked to a dude named mokuu.. heres his da page [link] ... he draws like crazy, always got a sketch book.. life drawing = win. jebe was playing guitar hero.. I played Super smash 64 with HPOA [link] .. by 3 oclock we went to a place called double pizza ... 4 of us.. me, Jebe, HPOA and a dude named Nico, good stuff.. then we went back.. by then it was 4 and we went back to the games room, because thats where everyone was.. we continued to game till the closing ceremonies commenced around 6.. and Kevin [Mangi] pretty much rounded up everyone.. At the ceremonies.. where I accidentally removed a chair right before Mangi sat down and he fell on his making a ton of people laugh.. that really was memorable ;3

During the Ceremony there were allot of complaints alluding to the Hotels. um mismanagement.. and how the con was really lacking in sustance.. planning [sort of] events and ARTISTS.. we need MORE artists! After that Jebe walked me back to the metro and I ALMOST went home.. but after waiting for the metro.. for while and feeling unsatisfied... I decided to fuck it and I went back to the hotel to find Jebe and the others. it was amazing timing I met up with Jebe with 3 others.. just about to leave to go for sushi.. in the rat cage.. dude named hellbender [hes a rat! cool] and his squeaky car.. together we were me, Jebe, HellBender, Dan Racoon, and one of the staff named Viper Half dragon... we almost went to a place in montreal [Kanda] but it was full, so we drove all the way to a place called Grand Sumo Sushi on the south shore.. awesome sushi and chatted up and talked a bit about anthrocon and means of transportation... as we left there was a banner obscured by two pillars and it seemed to read "TINY CHRISTIAN CHURCH" .. it was hilarious.. it was actually Destiny Christian Church.. then we had a long drive back . Viper kept hurting hmself. I Lol'd. We came back and the dead dog dance was DEAD, no one was there so BT [babytiger, cool dude] closed up.. and then we went to a room party.. it was cool we chilled and chatted it up with some more people we didnt really get to know prior.. But our friend locked himself in a room with some chick and other people.. I rofld.. no idea what went on LOL...

anyways that really sums up the events of Anthrofest 2007... it was neat and different. but cool =)

Tomorrow I'm off to the Montreal con. My first con, woot! =P Looking forward to meeting people and all, and take the weekend to kick back and enjoy myself.

But...my parents are paranoid. They've been asking tons of question and aren't grasping why I want to go =/ And they're expecting me to come back from the con around 9pm .... errr....don't think so...so I'll probably get hell from them for that XD But it'll be worth it! (I hope)

I've been scarce of late, I know, although that just may be over soon as I've picked up the pencil once more! It's been 2 months since I've taken the time to draw, or sketch even for that matter. But now that school is over, and I've gotten my diploma, I can take a breather before college begins. But of course, work is taking up a good chunk of time, about 45 hours a week atm, and I might be getting a second part-time job on the side, so I won't have time to get bored ^_^;

What with all that, I've been neglecting my training, though =( I've got to give myself a good kick in the arse and get jogging a bit more, at the very least.

Tool show on Tuesday was simply amazing. I'm still riding on a bit of a high from the show. Never have I heard a band play so true irl. They are some of the few metal groups I consider true musicians, at the same level as classical composers. An absolutely moving experience. <3

It rocks, but now I have to get used to drawing with it. It's a Wacom graphire, 4 by 5, really happy I got it.

As for drawing programs, I have oC3.05E and Photoshop CS2, neither of which I've worked with before, I'm still finding my way around, and ctrl+z is my friend. =P

So after the freezing rain we got round here, the roads are pretty slippery. And as I was walking back from work a few minutes earlier, I saw the saddest thing.
Some idiot decided to use the ice to practice "drifting" with his camaro. -_- After skidding and making his tires scream for a little while, he ended up against a telephone pole. Anonymous idiot, I salute you. It's because of fools like you that I can barely afford car insurance.

Stupidity knows no boundaries.

At noon today, a shooter dressed in a black trench coat w/ a semi-automatic weapon approached Dawson College. As he neeared the building he unloaded several shots at passers-by, students and pedestrians alike. He then proceeded to enter the building and added to the number of victims. Chaos ensued. The final count as of this moment is one girl shot dead at the scene, and 20 casualties. One of these died at the hospital.

This is yet another major college shooting in the Montreal area. Another which comes to mind is the Polytechnic shooting of '89. Security is very lax, anyone can enter campus, regardless of who they are.

I wish to extend my support to all the victims, and their friends and family.
