I'm not going to make a habit of flooding y'alls journal inboxes every time I make a patreon post, but I did want to let everyone know that I've written my first personal story of the year, and that it's now available for $5 and $10 patrons to read immediately via my patreon page. The Disciples of Ecstasy is an M/M story about a group of college buddies who worship Ecstasy Embodied, a minor deity to... you guessed it, all things lewd and erotic. It's around 2700 words of supernatural hyper-orgasmic fun between a bunch of shamelessly horny guys, and I had a tonne of fun writing it.:3

You may or may not be aware that I paused my Patreon last month after making the decision to alter its format somewhat. Instead of being primarily focused around "commission level" tiers that allowed folks to get a repeating monthly story of 2000 or 4000 words, it now functions more solely as an early access branch for folks who want to read my stories and skip the sizeable upload backlog I'm posting my way through.

The keener eyed amongst you may notice that many of my story uploads say things like "written in 2021", and that's because I really do have two years worth of complete stories that I haven't yet posted. It's not because of wanting to lock them behind a timed paywall or anything, it's just really hard to find the time to format, tag and upload a story every single day, especially when for the last few years I've been consistently writing 30 or more stories a month.

Previously the access to my most recently written work was available at $5 per month, now though from just $2 per month you can get the monthly PDF bundle featuring every story I've written that past month for public consumption (the only stories not included would be ones that were requested to be kept private by their commissioners, or, if I ever decided to start submitting entries to anthologies for publication again, pieces like those), ready to read at your leisure without any delays.

At $5 you'll get access to the PDF story bundle, but also near-instant access to any personal (that is to say, not commissioned/requested by someone else) stories I write. I'll share them the same day I complete them, alongside any thoughts I've had on my process of writing it, why I wanted to write that particular story, why I love working in a particular setting if its relevant, etc. Even if you're only supporting at $2 per month though, you'll still get access to all those personal stories at the start of the next month.

There's also a $10 tier for folks who want to show some extra support, and if I figure out any future rewards I can add to my patreon page, that tier will be the first to get access to those!


Additionally, one old feature of my patreon that I'm no longer doing there was a trio of monthly Request Days for all $5 supporters and above. I enjoyed the variety of ideas that always got put forward for those request days, but fitting in three days of them atop my already busy schedule, and feeling the pressure of writing as many as possible across the three days, made it kinda unsustainable. Thus, I'm not doing request days on patreon as a tier reward any more. HOWEVER, I'm not stopping taking requests entirely. Instead, I'm going to be doing them as an unscheduled, just "when I have time/when I feel like it" thing. Sometimes on patreon, sometimes here on FA, sometimes both, but always available for anyone to submit ideas to with no payment barrier at all. It'll just be a case of whether your idea is something I'm interested in writing at the time. :D

A little while back I said I'd be posting a journal today announcing my commission openings for January. Well, turns out that after contacting everyone who's already expressed interest in getting a commission written by me next month, I've already filled up my schedule. In 2024 I'm trying to take on slightly 'less' work to give myself more time to work on personal pieces, and generally to actually take some days off too, haha. As such, I don't really want to open up for 'extra' slots that would fill up the days I have pencilled in for working on my own stuff.

I hope anyone who was planning on snagging a slot when I posted my journal today isn't too disappointed. But if you were really hoping to get a slot from me, please feel free to just send me a note (or get in touch with me elsewhere, telegram, discord, even bluesky if that works for you), and like I have for other folks this month, I'll hopefully be able to offer you a slot for completion in February. In the past I avoided taking on any sort of "waiting list" and instead tried to be "fair" by making my commission openings first come, first serve. Buuut looking back on it now, that's really only fair to the people who have time-zones that line up with mine, or who have the time and ability to schedule a break in their days around being able to camp out on my FA page for the very specific time when my commissions opened. So now I'm gonna try to be more flexible. If you want a commission, I may not be able to oblige you immediately, but get in touch and if your idea is one I think I can do well, I'll gladly offer you a spot in my next available batch of work. :D

I'm enjoying my break immensely, and am certain that this time off to recharge my creative batteries (via eating ALLLL the tasty food, playing a tonne of Planet Zoo, some Slay the Spire, and reading a bunch of manga that I got for xmas) will leave me all the more eager and enthused to get back to work next Thursday when I resume both writing, and posting stories here on FA. :3

Absolutely no pressure to anyone, but as a couple of folks have asked about the possibility of ways to "tip" me for work this year, I thought I'd offer this option. I'm doing okay financially so I don't want anyone to feel like they need to throw extra cash my way, you're welcome to save that for a future story commission if you enjoy my work! Buuuut there is a Steam sale on right now, and with the next week and a half or so set aside as time for bunny winter vacation, there's definitely a bunch of gaming I want to do. :D

All 25 XXXmas stories have been written, and now only a few remain to be posted tomorrow, on Sunday and of course one final one on Christmas day itself. It was an absolute blast getting to write a whole bunch of short, festively lewd stories for a whole bunch of you, and it's been great seeing so many of them be enjoyed by many more folks beyond those who commissioned them. In 2024 I definitely want to do another couple of monthly challenges, though perhaps different ones than XXXmas. Perhaps I could resurrect Kinktober, or maybe a Nonstop Nut November selection of orgasmically excessive stories. :3

Either way, all that lies far ahead. Right now I'm wrapping up a last couple of remaining commissions, and then I'll be taking a little time off to relax and enjoy the holidays. Anyone playing the new Scarlet/Violet expansion? I was a bit lukewarm on the story of the Teal Mask, just because I wasn't a fan of how the game made you react and respond to a certain character in a way that really messed them up. XD But since this next part of the story seems to actually be making the player deal with the consequences of those actions, I actually like it a lot more retroactively now!

As for the Indigo Disk itself, I'm enjoying it so far. Having lots of fun just running around doing BP quests while filling out my dex. And on the topic of filling out my Dex... if anyone else is playing it right now, wanna trade?? :D I don't have that many folks on my Switch friends list who are playing the game, so I'm currently sitting on a couple of pokemon I'm ready to evolve but can't without a trade partner, i.e. Rhydon>Rhyperior, Porygon>Porygon 2, etc. :)

That's going to be the name of my next D&D character, a Kenku (wingless raven-folk, for those not up on their D&D lore) bard! Not the words mind you, but literally the sound of birds singing together at daybreak. After all, Kenku speak in mimicry rather than using words of their own, according to D&D lore, so if she was raised by and amongst other Kenku, why would she not have a name that is a sound, rather than 'words'.

Of course, she will be interacting with non-kenku characters and NPCs, so she does have a name she uses around non-kenku that's a... passable approximation of her true name.

I'm loving playing my current D&D character, my kobold sun-soul monk Moxt Ixen. But, I also can't wait to play * The sound of birds singing together at daybreak * or, as she's otherwise known, Dawn Chorus.

What are XXXmas commissions?

They're a series of winter and festive holiday season themed prompts that y'all can choose from to purchase and have written featuring your own choice of characters, and which I'll be posting every day from December 1st to the 25th (assuming all 25 slots sell, of course. :D)

How long will each XXXmas short story commission be?

Each story will be approximately 2000 words in length, the same length as one of my standard "short story" commissions. :3

How much will each XXXmas short story commission cost to buy?

Each story will be £25gbp (British Pounds), a £10 discount on my normal 2k story commission price. :)

How do I buy an XXXmas story?

Simply respond to this journal saying which one or two of the 25 story ideas below you would like to buy. Alternatively if you wish to have your purchase be anonymous, simply note me with the numbers of the slots you'd like and I'll post in the journal that they've been purchased without naming you, just so everyone can see how many of the 25 available commission slots have already been claimed.

How many XXXmas stories can I buy?

Each person can buy up to two XXXmas slots each, and there is no limit on the number of people who can pick an individual theme/prompt, so don't worry if you see that someone has already picked the prompt that you had your eye on. :)

Why 25 slots?

I'd like to post one XXXmas story every day in December from the 1st through to Christmas Day.

Does that mean my commission will be completed by Christmas?

Yup! All XXXmas commissions will be complete by Christmas, so if you've been thinking about treating yourself to a lewd story as a holiday gift this year, this is a great chance. :3

Okay, so I've decided which idea/two ideas I want. How do I pay you?

After asking to claim the slots in the journal comments or via note, I'll ask you for any relevant details (characters, any other relevant info to personalise your picks), and once we've agreed on those details I'll ask you for your paypal email address to send a payment request to. Payment will be taken up front in full prior to work being started.

Please only claim xxxmas commission slots if you are able to provide the details of your ideas and pay within 72 hours of my commissions opening. Thank youuu. :3

You mention providing character details, how much detail do you want?

For each theme slot you've picked you'll be able to put forward one or two main characters of your choice (OCs or famous 'rule 34'able' adult anthro characters, one or two depending on the prompt's details).

Please note that because these commissions are discounted, you won't be able to specify the overall plot of the story in detail.

You'll be able to provide character information (visual refs and/or a written description), state any relevant preferences (the genders of any other characters involved, sexual preferences, etc) and pick the prompt that will inform the story's content. However you won't be able to ask for additional kinks or major plot elements that are outside the scope of the prompt/theme you've chosen.

For example, if you pick the theme "Under the XXXmas tree - the main character wakes up to find a naked, ribbon wrapped body waiting eagerly for them under the tree" light bondage will obviously be a feature of the story, but I wouldn't be able to add inflation or TF content to a story like that. As such, if you have a character who has some innate kinky aspect to them (i.e. they're hyper-endowed or a living pool toy) please consider either picking a prompt that works with their nature, or picking a different character that does suit the idea and its themes more. :3





Here's the list of themes available to choose from this year. In previous years I've made it so only one person can pick each theme, but that always leaves people disappointed if someone else gets to the one theme/prompt they really wanted before they're able to claim a slot. So, this year any number of people can pick any prompt and I'll work to make them stand apart through the characters and their interactions. :3 Once again though, each individual may purchase a maximum of two commissions from the list.


XXXMas 2023 theme/prompt list.


1) Under the XXXmas tree - The main character wakes up to find a naked, ribbon wrapped second character waiting eagerly for them under the tree. (light bondage, light dom/sub)

2) The Sound of Sleigh-bells - The holiday season is always an intense time of year, but even more so after the main character is implanted with a hypnotic trigger that means they cum every time they hear sleigh bells. (hypnosis, public, uncontrollable orgasms, unexpected but consensual)

3) An Unexpected Snow-storm - The main character is caught out by a sudden intense snow storm, either while driving or out hiking somewhere far from home. Thankfully they find a house with a friendly occupant who not only offers them shelter, but goes the extra mile to make sure they get warmed up again. (shower sex, cosy fucking under blankets, one night stand)

4) The Nice List - The main character wakes up to find Santa Claus standing fondly over them, naked from the waist down and ready to lavish them with pleasure and praise for being good for the previous year. (sex with Santa, Santa can be any species or gender, praise kink, worship kink)

5) The Naughty List - The main character wakes up to find Santa Claus standing with arms folded over them, naked from the waist down and ready to "punish" them for being lewd and naughty for the previous year. (sex with Santa, Santa can be any species or gender, Santa doms you, rough sex and/or orgasm denial/edging; your choice of any/all of those), fully consensual 'punishment'.

6) Coffee Break - The main character hears noises from their home's kitchen, and finds all of Santa's anthro reindeer, naked aside from their harnesses, using their kitchen to make a quick pot of coffee before getting back to work. Upon being discovered, they eagerly offer a quick but wild orgy in exchange for the coffee. (Santa's reindeer can be a single or any combination/mix of genders, but they're all horny and eager to 'reward' you in exchange for the use of your kitchen).

7) A Cosy Christmas Sweater - It seems like the christmas sweater the main character received from a second character is way too big. But actually, it's perfect for both of you to slip inside and share a cosy Christmas cuddle-fuck. (wrapped up/cuddling in an armchair with two bare upper bodies inside the same oversized sweater, humping/riding, cuddlefucking)

8) Hot and Cold - Two characters share a hot tub together on a cold December night, and enjoy the intense thrill of slipping out of the water onto the snowy grass, then back into the steaming water, all while pleasuring one another. (temperature play, outdoor sex)

9) A Season for Self-Love - The main character bought themselves a new sex toy for the holidays, but has been waiting until Christmas morning to unbox it and try it out. 11) A Time for Family - After weeks or months apart due to busy lives, two related characters can't wait until after the family xmas party to show how much they've missed one another. (Any two related characters, so long as both are adults and fully consenting, incest, secret sex, almost but not quite caught in the act)

12) Spreading XXXmas Cheer - The main character seeks to bring some holiday cheer to other people's lives by spending a few hours in a local glory hole and eagerly servicing anyone who visits. (Glory hole, anonymous sex, semi-public).

13) Santa's Little Helpers - In Zootopia, a whole group of department store elf mice celebrate finishing their last shift before christmas itself by finding a much bigger creature to play with. (Micro-play, size difference, the mice can be any genders, as can the single larger mammal they want to fool around with. Your choice of OC is fine so long as you're happy with them existing in a version of Zootopia where creatures are analogous sizes relative to their real-world counterparts).

14) Fun in the Festive Sun - The main character or characters enjoy the fact that they either live in or are on vacation in a part of the world where it's summer around the holiday season, by visiting a clothing optional beach and fucking openly in front of the other beach-goers. (public sex, exhibitionism, casual nudity)

15) Hearthswarming Heat - It's Hearthswarming Eve in Equestria, and at the end of the night, the main character's favourite Pony invites them back to their place to ring in the holiday together by fucking them senseless. (Your OC can be a creature from the MLP Universe or not, or you can pick a second canon character from the shows to pair up with another pony, any genders are fine, it doesn't have to be an actual 'heat' scenario if they're just horny AF.)

16) A Jealous Bunny - The Easter Bunny is jealous of all the attention that Santa, Mrs Claus and all their buff reindeer get around this time of year. They try to convince the main character that they're much cooler than any of the winter holiday folks by making themselves the main character's fuck toy all Christmas day. (subby but bratty/needy easter bunny, they can be any gender but must be a rabbit. :3)

17) While The Husband's Away... - With Santa Claus busy with his deliveries, Mrs Claus invites the main character over to keep her company for the night. (Mrs Claus can be any species but will have a motherly yet horny personality and be somewhat 'mature' in age, it can be a cheating situation or a totally willing open relationship which Santa is totally cool with, whatever your preference may be).

18) Xmas Stockings - The main character dresses up in stockings/thigh high socks/leg warmers and either masturbates, or shows off for a second character who greatly enjoys the show. (it can be just the socks/stockings and nothing else, or a full xmas costume. Can be crossdressing or not, and emphasised as crossdressing or not, dependant on your preference and choice of gender identity for the main character).

19) Carolling - In some parts of the world people traditionally go out around Christmas and sing carols on the street for people to listen to. In the main character's world, groups go out and masturbate publicly for the enjoyment of those who see them. (Public masturbation, exhibitionism. The main character can either be a part of the group, or at home when a group of 'Carollers' arrive at their front door. You can pick the gender/body types of the other carollers, but only one fully detailed main character.)

20) Pulling the Cracker - Two main characters pull a Christmas cracker as they eat their festive dinner together. Instead of containing a cheesy joke and a crappy plastic toy though, it has some very intimate magical effect that neither expected, but both enjoy greatly! (You can choose any one/multiple of these magical effects: Species TF, Gender shifting, hyper genitalia growth, lactation, spontaneous/hyper orgasms, oviposition/egg laying).

21) Last Day of the Semester - It's the last day before college winter break starts, and two characters share one last passionate night together before returning home to their families and facing a few needy, horny weeks apart.)

22) Secret Santa - At a big holiday party with friends and a bunch of friends of friends the main character barely knows, they receive a "secret santa" present in the form of a hand written voucher redeemable for one free fuck before the end of the party. After bashfully refusing to say what their gift was, the main character is soon approached by a second character (a stranger) who knows exactly what their gift was, and is ready to let them redeem their voucher if they wish. (The two characters should be strangers for the purposes of this story, though it's totally fine if you pick OCs or existing characters who already know one another in 'canon').

23) Christmas Dinner - While preparing Christmas dinner together, two main characters "snack" on one another while the other tries to focus on the meal prep. (Casual oral sex, teasing, can involve fellatio, rimming, cunnilingus, ball-play or any combination of those).

24) Twenty Four - The main character has nothing to do on Christmas eve, so they decide to try and cum twenty four times in twenty four hours on the twenty fourth day of the month. (The methods of masturbation should be fairly simple, hands, toys, other common/relatively vanilla methods of self-pleasure, but slightly more niche extras like humping plushies/inflatables or self-oral are fine too if you want to ask for their inclusion).

25) Wildcard/Jeeves' Choice - If you want to be an absolute sweetie, you can pick this option and I'll write an XXXmas story based on one of the other prompts on this list, but with my own choice of characters/specifics. Bear in mind you'll have no input on the outcome of the story, so please only pick this option if you're totally okay with the potential of it being something you just aren't that into, but which you know will bring me a tonne of joy to write. What are XXXmas commissions?

Each story will be approximately 2000 words in length, the same length as one of my standard "short story" commissions. :3

Each story will be £25gbp (British Pounds), a £10 discount on my normal 2k story commission price. :)

When I open for the commission batch tomorrow, simply respond to the journal saying which of the 25 story ideas below you would like to buy.

How many XXXmas stories can I buy?

Each person can buy up to two XXXmas slots each, and there is no limit on the number of people who can pick an individual theme/idea, so don't worry if you see that someone has already picked the slot/theme that you had your eye on. :) Alternatively if you wish to have your purchase be anonymous, simply note me with the numbers of the slots you'd like after the commission batch opens and I'll post in the journal that they've been purchased without naming you, just so everyone can see how many of the 25 available commission slots have already been claimed.

Why 25 slots?

I'd like to post one XXXmas story every day in December from the 1st through to Christmas Day.

Does that mean my commission will be completed by Christmas?

Okay, so I've decided which idea/two ideas I want. How do I pay you?

After asking to claim the slots in the journal comments or via note, I'll ask you for any relevant details (characters, any other relevant info to personalise your picks), and once we've agreed on those details I'll ask you for your paypal email address to send a payment request to. Payment will be taken up front in full prior to work being started.

You mention providing character details, how much detail do you want?

For each theme slot you've picked you'll be able to put forward one or two main characters of your choice (OCs or famous 'rule 34'able' adult anthro characters, one or two depending on the prompt's details).

Please note that because these commissions are discounted, you won't be able to specify the overall plot of the story in detail.

You'll be able to provide character information (visual refs and/or a written description), state any relevant preferences (the genders of any other characters involved, sexual preferences, etc) and pick the prompt that will inform the story's content. However you won't be able to ask for additional kinks or major plot elements that are outside the scope of the prompt/theme you've chosen.

For example, if you pick the theme "Under the XXXmas tree - the main character wakes up to find a naked, ribbon wrapped body waiting eagerly for them under the tree" light bondage will obviously be a feature of the story, but I wouldn't be able to add inflation or TF content to a story like that. As such, if you have a character who has some innate kinky aspect to them (i.e. they're hyper-endowed or a living pool toy) please consider either picking a prompt that works with their nature, or picking a different character that does suit the idea and its themes more. :3

So, I've rambled here relatively recently about how I've been playing a tonne of Dwarf Fortress. So much so that I think since my last journal talking about it I've put almost 100 more hours into the game. But also, in moments where I haven't felt like I've had the time to lose several hours of my day to the intoxicating glee of DF, I've returned to another game that I've realised is becoming a 'comfort game' for me, in that it's something I can just log into for half an hour or so, doodle around with, then set down again feeling happier than before.

That game is Monster Hunter: Rise. I was something of a late adopter of the game, only picking up the base game when Sunbreak released on PC, then picking up the DLC when I'd gotten through the base game's content. But now? Gosh I find this game so comfy. Now that my gear's pretty heavily decked out and I have customised sets tailored to basically every monster, I can turn it on and leap into a multiplayer session, and be sure that I'll have a blast whether we're fighting a Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax or a Kulu Ya Ku.

What about y'all? Do any of you have any comfort games you turn to when you just want to chill and be certain that you're gonna have a good time, and what are they?

Also, if anyone else here played a bunch of MHR or still does, who's your fave monster to fight and what's your weapon of choice? In World I mained hammer, so in MHR I decided to go to the other end of the spectrum and went Dual Blades, and I love zipping around and dodging the monster's attacks so muuuuch. XD As for fave monster to fight, lately I've really been digging the edgelord that is Chaotic Gore Magala, but if we're talking monsters from any stage of the game, I will never turn down the chance to fight a Pukei pukei. :o

Up until earlier this year (or was it late last year? What even is time? o.o) I used an app called youtube vanced that blocked all ads on youtube when I was watching it via my phone. Then they got forced to shut down their app so it no longer functioned, and since then I've been basically unable to use my phone for youtube without getting spammed with ads twice the volume of the video I'm listening to every 5-10 minutes in a 30 minute video.

Assume I support the creators I watch regularly via youtube by other means so I'm not denying them ad revenue they might need in order to continue their work, and recommend me any programmes/apps you know of that function as youtube vanced used to, ideally just emulating/launching youtube but while blocking adverts.

I'm asking here because google is useless these days and just throws you a bunch of sponsored AI generated (at least they read that way with how unhelpful they are) posts for paid services, or three year old reddit posts asking the same question with equally out of date answers. XD

It'd be greatly appreciated if anyone does have a solution, because seriously I'm considering buying a second PC monitor at this point JUST so I can watch youtube while playing games in my free time without wanting to throw my phone out of the window every 5 minutes at the hellish interruptions for products I either can't afford or have absolutely no interest in buying. Today was a dark day for the dwarves of Steelwreath, capital of the civilisation of the Strifeful Banners. (bolded text are image links to screenshots of the game)

A great force of evil, a Forest Titan, came rampaging towards our fortress. An ancient being from beyond history that had killed many elves and countless animals living in elven forests. Now though, it had turned its attention towards dwarvenkind.

While the rest of the Steelwreath military equipped their gear, the two squads that had been training in the barracks immediately rushed out to drive the beast back. Alas, the bravest, those first out of the door and first to reach the titan, discovered the doom that awaited them as they became trapped in its webs while trying to strike at its solid amber body. Four dwarves fell before the titan could be overwhelmed by dwarven might. The moments of their deaths etched into the minds of all who witnessed them...

The first losses the Steelwreath military had experienced in the eighteen year history of the fort, including incursions by two dragons and hundreds upon hundreds of goblins, were felt by all. But, their sacrifice meant that their companions were able to strike back with deadly vengeance! And soon, one of them landed the final blow, earning himself the same glory that his fallen comrades had already known.


In the wake of the conflict though, rather than mourn, the forges and picks of Steelwreath set to work, creating tombs for their valiant dead. Thus ensuring that no matter how much time passes, their deeds will never be forgotten.

Here lie the Valiant Four of Steelwreath.

Muthkat Dumatthob Merrangusen, Flickerspark's Doom, Champion of Steelwreath.

Monom Amasmosus, Militia Captain, Goblin Siegebreaker.

Rith Bekariden, Swordmaster. Taken far too soon, but leaving behind an artefact that will be heralded by dwarven history through the ages.

Onul Mothdastkulet, Swordmaster. Another young prodigy, leaving an artefact that will forever carry the memory of his valour.

About ten months ago I posted a journal saying that after watching a bunch of streams of it prior to its steam release, I'd picked up Dwarf Fortress in all its shiny non-ascii textured, newly mouse-supported glory. I posted a couple of times after that babbling about how I was enjoying it over the first month or so since its release, but since then I haven't said much about it.

Does that mean I've stopped playing? Does that mean I enjoyed it for a little bit but haven't touched it much since?

Well, I did go through a few spells of playing other things when different games came out or I wasn't around my PC for periods of time. Buuut... * glances at steam * I may have played about 470hours of DF at this point, and a good hundred or so of those hours in the past month, basically any time I'm not writing or on my exercise bike, lmao.

I just wanna say again that, if you like what could broadly be called "colony sim" games and you don't mind taking some time to learn its intricacies and weirdnesses, oh my gosh this is such a fun game. :3 Case in point...

I've been playing in the same world for about fifty eight in-game years now, and for the last fifteen or so in-game years have been running the same fort, Steelwreath.

My current dwarven civilisation, the Strifeful Banners, began as a single fort of two-hundred dwarves tucked away in a frozen mountain area to the very, very far south of the world they inhabit. The surrounding area was so cold and harsh that they remained isolated and tucked away in that single fortress without trying to expand at all, and as a result remained cut off from other dwarven civilisations, developing into a strange thing for a dwarven culture, a virtually monotheistic society following Etur, Goddess of Wealth.

One hundred years of dwarven history passed with that single fortress and its dwarves worshipping Etur in their lonely mountain home, before finally the Goddess (or perhaps someone speaking in her voice? Armok, God of Blood perchance?) inspired seven dwarves to venture forth and establish a new home, Frostseized. Long enough had the Strifeful Banners been a small footnote in the world's history, tucked away in their frozen wasteland home. Now they had a mission. To strive forward and make a new home, and to grow it powerful enough that more dwarves could leave it and establish another fortress, and another, and another.

Fifty eight years later, Steelwreath stands as the seventh fortress of the Strifeful Banners. Though the lands are still a frozen wasteland, the dwarves have already pushed far enough north to breach the constant snow that left many of their early dwarves enraged at its ceaseless storms (seriously so many of my early dwarves ended up permanently angry due to exposure to the snow). There, with the King of the civilisation in residence, they have begun a new phase of expansion. Conquest. The goblin civilisation "The Doom of Papers" which had raided the Fortresses of the Strifeful Banners and sought to steal its precious artefacts right from the start has now begun to know fear itself as Steelwreath's steel wreathed (get it? :P) soldiers claim former dark goblin pits in the name of our own civilisation.

And clearly, it's not only the warring goblins under their demon overlord that have come to fear us. In past forts, the Strifeful Banners' militaries had fought off Cyclops', Giants and even a Desert Titan in the form of a giant serpent (indeed the Duke of Steelwreath, nicknamed "Serpentstrike" in his military days. received that honour after killing the Desert Titan in Kingrevered, the fortress established to celebrate the crowning of the new King after the passing of his mother the Queen from old age. But in Steelwreath, the dwarves' legend has spread to all corners of the earth, and the skies. Bringing not one, but TWO dragons to its walls (I had not encountered a single dragon in my first 400 hours of the game, then TWO attacked this single fortress!)

Thabost Nelasibmat Limullimar (Thabost Flickerspark, the Golden Wealth) was surely a test from Etur herself, given her title and golden scales. She burned the duchess of Frostseized, the first fort of the Strifeful Banners' expansion, alive with dragonfire while the duchess was visiting the King to pay her respects. To this day years later, her burning corpse lies in the frozen tundra, ever ablaze, utterly untouchable. Yet Flickerspark fell to Steelwreath's military might, her death ushering in the Age of Legends. Her skull adorns a pedestal in the King's future tomb, and her bones were used in the construction of an artefact dragonbone door, which now adorns Etur's temple.

When the second dragon, Bestra Nesimtul Cobim came just a couple of years later, he too felled a visiting noble, the veteran warrior known as "The Calamity of Irus" for felling a forgotten beast who bore that name. When "Bestra Parchedwarmth, the Bejewelled" met his own end beneath a silvered warhammer though, there was no doubt that Etur's challenges were not meant as condemnation of her worshippers actions, but rather as challenges to be overcome. The tale of the Strifeful Banners continues as they seek to share Etur's message with the entire world.

Wealth of gold and steel is all well and good, but true wealth comes from a valiant heart, with passion burning hotter than dragonfire. If the Dwarves of the Strifeful Banner can escape their frozen prison and outlive eternal dragons that have slain hundreds of foes before them from across dwarven, human, elven and goblin civilisations, any realm, any individual creature can become a legend beyond dragonkind if they possess the drive to do so.

Not a journal I enjoy posting, and frankly I've been putting it off since the start of the month, but... yeah! Earlier this year I announced that due to the rising cost of living, I was gonna have to raise my prices a bit to keep up with things and avoid having to add extra work days to my already pretty full writing schedule just to keep making effectively the same amount after basic living costs. I then delayed that price rise because I wanted to give some more folks the opportunity to commission me at my old prices following the announcement, but it's been almost six months since then, so I think I've gotta bite the bullet and do it, since prices for food, travel, energy/heating, etc are remaining high here and show little signs of dropping (because why would company shareholders lower prices for consumers when they can just make more profit as 'their' costs drop again?) at any point in the near future.

You can check my original announcement journal here for full details of my price increases. As I said then I tried to keep the increase as low as possible, and that's still very much the case now. I do understand that this may put some of my commission options just outside the range of some folks though, and for that I can only apologise. That being said, due to the value of the £ (GBP) dropping over the last couple of years, my Patreon prices will remain the same as they currently are since the exchange rate from $USD to £GBP means that my new prices will roughly line up with what my patreon tiers are already valued at. So if you already support me on patreon or have any interest in doing so in the future, the prices you see there will remain unchanged unless there's a drastic shift in the financial value of the dollar in years to come.

So, yeah, those new prices will come into effect for any commissions I take as of the end of this month, and my FA commission tab will be updated to reflect those changes at that time. Once we hit the Star Trek cashless society of the future though, I'll be sure to stop charging for stories entirely. If any of you have time machines and get Captain Janeway or Wesley Crusher or someone else who doesn't mind fiddling with the timelines here and there to hurry the future up, that'd be greatly appreciated. :D

Anyway, fun fact, I'm 35 today! Why do I say 'half way there?' Not because I've scryed into my future and seen that I live till exactly seventy, that's for sure. >.> But seriously, when I was a kid I had it in my head that seventy was "grandparent age", aka, fully, properly, completely "old". Of course, in the decades since I've recognised as most folks do that age has far less to do with anything about a person than their attitude and life circumstances (health, location, financial security, etc), but even so I've never forgotten what young Jeeves used to think when they were like... six.

So, in honour of my younger self, I hereby proclaim myself at the half-way mark to "grandparent age", regardless of the fact that I'm never gonna have kids, never mind grand-kids. And y'know, if by some bizarre chance this did turn out to be exactly the half-way point of my life? I'd be okay with that. :3 Thus far, with a few sizeable ups and downs here and there my life has gotten progressively better as I've gotten older. I spent most of my childhood terrified and confused by the world (thanks undiagnosed neurodivergencies!) and most of my teenage years either being abused or suffering the lingering trauma and fucked-upness of that abuse, not to mention messing up the lives of my family, friends and loved ones in the process. In my early twenties I started to pull things together, but had so much to learn about actually living as an independent human being that I still ended up struggling through serious mental health stuff, and in my late twenties... well, that was around when I took the huge step of becoming self employed, and working towards a lifestyle that reduced the various stresses, obligations and unnecessary societal expectations that had been keeping me from truly enjoying all aspects of my own life.

And now, I'm well and truly in my mid-thirties, and y'know what? Yeah, I still get stressed out by stuff sometimes and sure I live on a pretty tight budget to make my way financially in an ever more expensive world, but... I'm pretty damn delighted by where I am. I live in a beautiful village by the sea, I have amazing friends (and the most kick-ass D&D group which several of them are a part of!), I have hobbies and interests that bring me joy, and I have a career I truly adore that I count myself lucky to have each and every day.

So, if my life carries on with this trajectory, be it for ten more years, thirty five more or any amount beyond that? This bunny is gonna be one happy, uh... bunny. ^^


Whew, that journal got a lot deeper than I planned when I sat down to go "Wooo it's my B-day!" before heading to bed (it's 00:35 here as I finish writing this), but still! Happy birthday to me, and to anyone who reads this, whether someone who reads my stories, who has commissioned a piece (or many pieces) from me, whether you're a friend, someone I've chatted with casually or even a lurker who doesn't really ever plan to interact with me in any deeper way, I hope your next year is as amazing as I'm gonna work to make my own. :3

I've been a full time writer for about seven and a half years at this point, and I still think it's the coolest fucking thing in the world that I get to follow my passion and write fun stories for people for a living. In those years of writing full time however, there is one thing I've struggled to find the time for. Personal work.

I have so, SO many ideas I want to write. Series', one shots, stuff that y'all might love and other stuff that really is just self-indulgence on my part that no-one else has asked for or probably even considered, haha. Some that are smutty furry stories of the kind I'm known for writing, some entirely clean, some not even furry at all (gasp). Over the last year I've been doing a monthly story poll over on my Patreon where folks can vote on which of a handful of different personal ideas I work on each month, and that's been a great way for me to get at least one personal piece complete per month. But, it's still down to my patrons to decide which of the ideas they want to see, and as a result there are some stories I really want to write that basically never get votes when they show up, because like I said above they're ideas that are very, very specific to something I want to see/create, without as much crossover appeal.

So, I've been thinking... would it be ridiculous of me to add an extra tier to my patreon that is, essentially, someone offering to "sponsor" a day of me writing for myself?

Let me be very clear, I don't expect this to be a wildly popular tier or something that will always, if ever, get filled up. I know it's essentially asking for someone to pay for a commission and have no idea what it will be, or whether the content is anything that interests them beyond "I like some of Jeeves' stories and it'll be a story written by Jeeves". Which is a frankly wild and insanely over-generous thing to ask of anyone. And, that's why I want your feedback.

Basically, what I want to know is, does the idea sound selfish and self-serving to the point where it feels like a negative, rather than just something you might not be interested in (assuming you had the spare funds to do so, of course)?

If it just doesn't interest you, that's totally understandable. If it's something you'd be interested in contributing to in theory, whether or not you ever do, that's fine too. And of course, it'd be amazing if any of you showed interest in pledging that way, even if it was just a one off, single pledge that you stopped before the next month rolled over. But as I said, what I really want to know is if it sounds like a greedy or entitled thing for me to even suggest that people might do. Because, if that's a view held by even a small minority of people who put forward any sort of opinion, I absolutely won't do it. Because, to be honest I can see that perspective even when considering the idea in my own head, so what I'm trying to figure out is if that's unreasonable self-criticism rearing its head, or if that's a legitimate concern I've considered and should keep in mind before asking for something of that nature.

Please let me know your thoughts via a comment if you have any, and as I've said, please be honest if you think it's an unreasonable thing to ask for. Also, I hope this goes without saying, but do not criticise anyone else's responses if they disagree with your feelings on the matter. I am actively wanting to know if anyone feels like this is an awful idea, so negative views are welcome and encouraged if that is how you feel about the matter.

For reference, the tier in question would be $50USD, and while the main "reward" would be sponsoring a personal story chosen and written entirely by me, with the option of having your name included or not as the sponsor when I post it, anyone who pledged at that tier would also receive my patreon's 'standard' rewards that anyone at $5 or above gets, namely access to the monthly PDF bundle containing all the stories I wrote in the prior month, and the opportunity to put forward an idea of their own for my monthly Patreon Request Days. :)

(And, for anyone who thinks "wait, why doesn't Jeeves just have a much cheaper 'tip jar' tier that many people can contribute to rather than trying to get support for personal work via one or two bigger pledges?" I do. It's $2 per month and it has had either 1 or 2 people in it for the last three years or so, far less than any of my other more expensive tiers. So, this is me considering other options. :3 )

So, this year I took August off work, in part because I had a vacation planned, but primarily because last year August was so ridiculously hot that I struggled to complete my monthly workload, and I wanted to avoid having to force myself to work through such conditions again.

Thus I took August off, and August was... a pretty cool, somewhat rainy month, overall. Lmao. I could EASILY have done a regular month's work. But I still got the time off and even if my vacation plans were rather disrupted by several different unforeseeable circumstances, I did manage to rest up a bunch so that when September began, I was ready and raring to get back to work.

And now... of course, it's been a roastingly hot week of weather far warmer than ANY part of August was. It's currently 9.25pm as I write this, and it's still 27c/80f in my office, which might not be 'too' hot to some of y'all in places where AC is a thing, but... we don't have AC here in Scotland, not in a 'regular' home at least, and given that I've lived here most of my life, anything over 22c (roughly 70f) feels a little too warm for me if it persists for any length of time.

Thankfully I do still expect to be able to get this month's workload done as the weather forecast has this unseasonable heat melting away in the next day or two, but good lord it just makes me shake my head at the very idea of trying to plan out vacations and months off and stuff as a self-employed person. I think in future years I'll just take on minimal extra work throughout all the summer months while still working generally (i.e. just patreon + maybe 1 or two commissions, not a full batch, presuming that patreon remains a regular income source for me in years to come), and take smaller vacations where I can sit for a few hours in the evenings and work on some stories wherever I am, haha.

Anyway, no real purpose to this journal, just felt like raising my hands up into the air and yelling into the void about how hilariously weird and unpredictable some otherwise mundane aspects of life can feel sometimes. XD

This will only be potentially relevant to a small number of you, but I just wanted to say that having deleted my twitter a year or so back, I have no plans to join any other social media platforms at this time. Mainly saying this because I've had a few very kind people offer me invite codes to bluesky, and while that is very generous I just don't have any real reason to join there. Even when I did use twitter it was never a platform where I got much traction for actually publicising or sharing my work, and honestly I'm just happier not feeling obliged to participate in any social media sites like that any more given what a hate-fostering cess pit of elevated bigoted voices twitter became.
