First Patrons-choice story poll is now live! :3
General | Posted 3 years agoHey folks!
This month a new reward is available to anyone supporting me on Patreon at the $5 level or above. At that tier you already get to put forward a request for my monthly request days (where I normally write between 9-12 short stories for my patrons based on their requests over three days each month) and get access to a downloadable bundle of PDFs of every story I wrote in the past month, without waiting for me to have to upload 'em all here.
Now though you can get all that plus the ability to vote on another story I'll write each month, from my very, VERY long list of personal ideas. By voting you get to ensure that the thing I write is something you're more likely to enjoy, though whether you're a patron or not I'll be posting those stories here the month after they're first available to my patrons. :D
To give you an idea of what you'll be able to vote for, this month's ideas are listed below. The list will change from month to month (though winning ideas may return if they're part of a multi-story series), but to start with these are the five voting options!
If you want to vote for one of them yourself, I'd love it if you hop over to my patreon at www.patreon.com/jeevesroo and pledge at the $5 level (or higher if you want to get other rewards too, all of which are listed there), then look for my latest post which contains this month's poll. Otherwise, feel free to tell me which one you hope wins below. I'm excited to get to work on any one of them! :3
October 2022 Potential Story Ideas:
1) Judy Hopps Tries Everything – With her lover Nick's help, Judy explores all sorts of different kinks across the city of Zootopia. An “episodic” series where each chapter features Judy exploring a new kink, discovering whether she enjoys it or not, and then “winding down” and unpacking the experience with Nick in a cute aftercare scene at the end. (M/F sex, romance, various "realistic" kinks, aftercare.)
2) Cursed to be Caught – A dalmatian guy is relieved to finally be starting college not just to escape the small town where he was raised, but to have some greater freedom to explore his sexuality. Alas, his dreams of privacy are dashed when it seems as though every single time he cums, he somehow ends up getting caught in the act. (M/Solo masturbation, M/M sex, embarrassment-play.)
3) Many Ways to Save the World – A furry superhero story series with themes of polyamory, sex and intimate relationships throughout. Featuring Aliyah“Foursight” Brown, a hyena lady who is permanently able to see four seconds into a version of the future unaffected by her precognition. Gabriel “Newton” Ricardo, a wolf with gravity manipulation abilities, and Dr Kelly Paige, a rabbit E.R doctor who happens to be the girlfriend of both Newton and Foursight. (M/F/F sex, superhero drama, slice of life, non-sexual violence.)
4) Welcome to Arrandale Farm – A series of tales from life on a high-end farm that sells anthro by-products (anthro cow milk, anthro sheep wool, etc) to the luxury goods market. In the first chapter we are introduced to the farm by a prospective new hire who has made it most of the way through the intensive interview process, and has only one 'practical' test left to perform. To actively satisfy one of the farm's most demanding producers. (Bi/Pansexual sex acts, casual public sex, milking, farmyard antics.)
5) Pleasure on the Lower Decks – A stand-alone non-furry story, ghasp. A story chronicling a snapshot into the sex lives of the main characters of Star Trek: Lower Decks, Ensigns Boimler, Mariner, Rutherford and Tendi. Throwing this one in as a bit of a wildcard, dunno how many of y'all are into Lower Decks, but god I love that show. :3 (M/Solo and F/Solo masturbation, sci-fi, slice of life.)

Fun fact corner with Jeeves!

New Patreon bonus reward, monthly story polls! :3
General | Posted 3 years agoMany of y'all may already know that I have a Patreon, but for a while now it's been offering the same rewards I've had on the go for a couple of years. I still really like the way I run my Patreon and I think the reward tiers offer good value for money (from the commission tiers roughly reflecting my commission prices here, plus a little for the convenience of a guaranteed slot during whichever months you remain pledged, right down to the $5 tier PDF bundle of stories and the ability to submit a request day idea every single month).
Lately though, I've been itching to try something new, and the kind folks who support me on Patreon and make it possible for me to devote so much of my time to furry writing are gonna be helping me out in that regard!
Starting in October, I'm gonna post a monthly poll on Patreon in which my patrons get to vote on which of a bunch of personal story ideas I have get worked on that month. These might be concepts I have for an entire series, or something standalone, or just some shameless R34 idea I haven't been able to get out of my head for years. Regardless of what's picked though, they'll all be pieces that I've been eager to work on for a long time, but have never managed to find the time to devote myself to. To rectify that fact I'm doing what anyone working under the constraints of capitalism does these days, lmao. That's right, I'm motivating myself by making it a part of my job. :D
More seriously though, if you have been thinking about hopping onto the $5 tier (or perhaps $10 or $20 and getting yourself a monthly flash fic alongside the opportunity to put another idea forward for the request days), next month would be a great time to start. You'll have the chance to vote for the ideas that you'll enjoy reading about, and get some insights into the kind of stuff that I'm thinking about when not working on commissions. :)
I understand that there are people who aren't a big fan of patreon, and that's totally cool if it's not your bag. I'll be posting the poll options here every month and announcing the results, so you'll still be able to see what's getting picked, and I'm gonna be posting those personal pieces here the month after they're written and shared with my patrons. Nothing I write stays behind a paywall, folks on Patreon just get it faster, and have the opportunity to help guide which things get written sooner rather than later. :)
If you're interested in signing up to take part in the poll or just to get some of the already existing rewards, my patreon is at www.patreon.com/jeevesroo :D Feel free to wait till October 1st to sign up to get your full month's worth for the month, but either way I'll be delighted to have you hop aboard. :3

Nintendo Direct hype (spoilers if you haven't watched)! :...
General | Posted 3 years agoThere was a new Nintendo Direct today, and hoo-boy was it a banger (for me at least!)
I hope y'all had some games announced/confirmed/given release dates about that you're excited for!
For me, the highlights were...
Pokemon Stadium 1+2 for the Expansion Pack. Though I'm sad that you can't transfer pokemon to the games, because imo the pre-set teams they gave you kinda sucked, hahaha.
Goldeneye 64 - A tonne of people are hyped by the online play, and I'll DEFINITELY challenge any and all of y'all to a first to 10 kills with Proximity Mines in the Bunker. But, I'm really just super excited to play the single player campaign again. I still remember the full Facility map like the back of my hand.
Fire Emblem: Engage - When FE:3H came out I was surprised by how much I liked the look of it, so I bought it... and it became my favourite game of that year, and indeed supplanted FFX as my favourite game, period, for the first time since 2004. I still go back to it a tonne, and I am SO excited to jump into a new Fire Emblem world.
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - IT HAS A NAME. IT HAS A RELEASE DATE. IT HAS SKYYYYYYYYYYY STUFF. The whole world is hype about this, and I am joining in shamelessly with that hype. :3
Between these games and Pokemon Scarlet/Violet in November I'm gonna be very very busy and happy with games for the next year or so. Squee!!
How about y'all? What were your highlights? And, bonus question, will you play Goldeneye 64 online with me??? :D

Your fave fandoms/R34 to read about? :3
General | Posted 3 years agoEarlier today I listened to an awesome podcast called "Let's Learn Everything", where every week the three hosts talk about a scientific topic, pose and answer a really interesting question, and then share information about some incredibly varied, miscellaneous topic.
The most recent episode I listened to included as its "misc" topic, fanfiction! Where it began, how it was popularised, and indeed how it rose to greater prominence and regard thanks to the internet. It didn't focus much (or at all really) on furry stuff specifically, but it really got me thinking about how glad I am to have grown up in an age where fanfic is accessible and encouraged.
Some of my first 'serious' furry writing was fanficton based loosely on Stephen King's "Dark Tower" epic (set in a furry version of that same world), and throughout my time as both a hobby writer and in the last few years a full time commission-taking bunny, I've loved the countless opportunities I've had to explore existing worlds and develop classic or underrepresented characters in new ways. Basically, I really kinda love fanfiction, and it's no secret that even now writing stuff featuring characters/the world of Zootopia and My Little Pony are some of my absolute favourite things to work on.
But, I wanna share the love! I wanna know what fanfic topics y'all enjoy reading about, or writing about if you do (and are happy to talk about it, even if it's not posted/shared anywhere).
Like I said, I love writing about Zootopia and My Little Pony, but there are dozens and dozens of other fandoms I've had so much fun working in, from Star Trek to the Cadbury Caramel Bunny adverts to Looney Tunes to Pokemon. Even right now I have whole SERIES worth of ideas in my head for MLP and Zootopia that I wish I had time to write. But, what about you?? What fanfic topics do you love writing or reading about, and if there was one R34/Fanfic topic you'd like to see me write about that I might not have so far, what would it be? :ooo

CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT HOW THIS MOVIE STARRING LESLIE ODOM JR AND JANELLE MONAE MUST HAVE A MUSICAL NUMBER IN IT AT SOME POINT BECAUSE IT WOULD BE A CRIMINAL CRIME NOT TO WITH THOSE TWO PEOPLE IN YOUR MOVIE???
I fuuuuuucking love Janelle Monae so much. Electric Lady and Dirty Computer are two of my favourite albums of all time, and I had NO IDEA she was going to be starring in this movie, aaaaaaaaaaaaa!! Add to that one of the best and most talented parts of Hamilton and oh my god, I'm gonna screeeeeam if they do anything remotely musical during the movie. <3 <3 <3
Also, I'm just generally hyped for this movie because Knives Out was fantastic, and this cast looks just as wonderfully eclectic and full of potential as the last one. :3
Please be hype with meeeeee. <3

No Kinktober this year, I think? (Unless I can simplify i...
General | Posted 3 years agoHey folks!
With us being well into September, this would normally be the time of year when I'd be thinking about opening up for slots for my yearly KINKTOBER commissions, where I write 31 stories and post them daily throughout october, each one dealing with a different kinky theme (Basically a smutty written version of the yearly 'inktober' prompts that lots of artists do!)
The problem is, my schedule is already pretty busy this year writing-wise, and I've struggled in past years with the kinktober stories running away somewhat in terms of complexity. Even if I say "Okay you just pick a kink and give me a couple of characters" I often end up with many concepts given to me that end up taking more time than I'd budgeted, especially when they're often on top of, rather than instead of my existing commission work.
So, this year I probably won't be doing Kinktober. At least, not as commissions. Maybe I'll try to do some sort of flash fic prompt based challenge on my own and share the results with you, but... yeah. Unless someone can think of a way I can do Kinktober while at the same time simplifying it so I'm not spending 12 hours a day working every single day for an entire month, that might have to be something I hold off on for the foreseeable future.
Apologies to anyone who was waiting for an opportunity to grab one of the discounted slots I've offered in past years! Again, if I could figure out a way to balance the workload better I'd totally do it again. But as things currently stand, I'd prefer to stick to my existing obligations and not overload myself. Hope y'all understand. <3 <3

Time Team is BACK?? :oooo
General | Posted 3 years agoThis might be a journal that appeals to precisely 1 person (me), but forgive me a little indulgence.
Time Team is a British TV show in which archaeologists have three days to excavate and explore sites across (and in the past sometimes beyond) the UK which are, or might be of historical and archaeological significance. Roman villas, Iron Age forts, Medieval castles, 18th century potteries, you name it they've dug it. It's experimental archaeology at its most wonderful and eccentric, and for 20 years it was a staple on the UK's "Channel 4".
The show ended in 2013 after ratings had been in decline for several years, but thanks to crowdfunding, it's BACK!
With a lot of returning faces from the original show and some spectacular new talent too, they released two new digs for free on youtube earlier this year, and have more in the pipeline.
If anyone hasn't seen Time Team before but is interested in that sort of nerdy history stuff presented in a very down-to-earth yet practical and engaging way, you can find basically every old episode on youtube, and the new ones on their youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/TimeTeamOfficial !
You can also support them on Patreon, to help fund future seasons/digs of this amazing show that has been given a new lease of life. Again, I know this might be a very niche thing to be excited about, but YALL I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED THAT THERE'S NEW TIME TEAM IN THE WORLD THIS SHOW MEANT SO MUCH TO ME AND NOW IT'S BACK AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Will Not/Cannot Write List, 2022 Edition
General | Posted 3 years agoAs a little bit of bookkeeping during this odd month, I decided it was time to ensure that my Will Not/Cannot Write list is up to date. Mostly this is just so I can link it for easy reference when I open for commissions here on FA, but there have been a couple of items added/clarified more recently that I figured would be worth posting anew rather than just editing into the old version.
As always, if you're considering commissioning me and aren't sure if your story features something that is on the border of one of these topics, feel free to note me and ask. For the vast majority of the list it's all just personal preference stuff that I'm either not comfortable writing, or just not any GOOD at writing, and the few cases where I have a more serious objection to the material are clearly and unambiguously listed as such. :)
Jeeves' Will-not-Write List - Updated October 2023.
- Underage characters in sexualised/adult situations. Underage = anything less than eighteen years of age, fully adult by our human understanding. If the age of consent is slightly different where you live, I understand that. However, the hard line for my stories is a minimum age of 18 regardless. Asking for exceptions to or work-arounds of this rule will be met with a straight up block.
- Age-play. See above. I will not write characters role-playing or acting as though they are underage for any adult/sexualised purposes. This includes ABDL/toddler-play related content. I understand it is not a sexual expression for everyone who engages in it, however there are those who do and I will not risk writing something that encourages the idea of underage characters being sexualised for even a single individual.
- Rape/Non-consensual sex. Characters can be overwhelmed, nervous, surprised by what's happening to them, etc, but I will only write adult scenes where characters enjoy what is happening to them during and continue to be glad it happened after the fact. I.e, full and enthusiastic consent.
- Scat/Vomit play. My personal lack of enjoyment for these topics means I cannot write them.
- Harsh BDSM, Cock and Ball Torture, etc. I am happy to write things like overstimulation-play, bondage, dom/sub, etc. But I cannot write any scenes/stories where intense pain/punishment is the focus, and where the characters (even if fully consenting) are not enjoying what is happening to them due to the pain it causes.
- Vaginal Genital Mutilation. I will not write stories that involve the process of vaginal genital mutilation occurring, or about characters that have had this process performed on them.
- Bestiality. I will write stories featuring quadruped characters or quadruped and bipedal characters together, but only in situations where all are "anthro" in the sense that they are sapient/intelligent enough to communicate and consent, as will be made clear by the story itself. Stories featuring people (humans or anthro) abusing unaware, 'normal' animals who cannot give informed consent are a no-no, as that's rape, see above.
- Feral "mating" scenes. Unlike above, this is a personal preference/ability thing rather than a matter of morality. I won't write scenes or stories focused around sexual scenes between one or more animals depicted as fully feral, i.e. just regular animal level intelligence. Even if there's no abuse/consent issues, I prefer to write about anthropomorphic animals who have a greater degree of ability to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and to express and understand emotion to themselves and one another.
- Racism/xenophobia/homophobia. I won't write about topics that glorify aspects of racist, bigoted ideologies such as Naziism, or which feature characters who represent and embody such ideologies or behaviours in a positive light.
- Transphobia. I will not write stories that use demeaning, degrading terms for transgender (and other gender-nonconforming) people, or embody harmful tropes regarding transgender individuals.
- Permanent orgasm denial, i.e. statufication. A particularly niche one, but yeah. I'm fine writing chastity/bondage/teasing related stories. But for whatever reason, the idea of permanent/indefinite denial of pleasure even in magical/fantastical settings isn't something I'm comfortable writing.
- Humiliation/degradation/embarrassment. I'm unable to write stories where humiliation/embarrassment is the focus of the story in terms of kinkiness, whether or not the character is fully consenting and enjoying the experience. Stories with general teasing occurring or a more overt dom/sub vibe where some embarrassing/boundary pushing but consensual stuff is taking place are all fine, but where the whole focus is humiliation/embarrassment based, it's not something I'm personally comfortable writing. I understand this is a little more vague in its description than some other points, so please feel free to query if you're unsure. 9/10 times though if a story has another focus that just happens to include a bit of "Oh, and that makes this character feel embarrassed/flustered" that's totally fine. I'm talking much more about humiliation/embarrassment as a fetish/kink unto itself. No problem with it, and I've even enjoyed some art/stories featuring it. I just can't comfortably write it myself.
- Hard Vore/Sexualised Gore/Snuff/Death. I won't write stories where a character dies due to sexual activity, even if they're a willing/eager participant. The same goes for any lingering, life-altering injuries. A love bite or scratches as a result of rough sex is fine. A missing arm isn't. (insert Monty Python reference here :P)
- Intense odour fetishes. I don't find myself able to do a good job writing scenes focused on intense body odour, sweat, foot-smelling, etc. If it's a casual mention as part of a different story, that's totally fine, but I can't write it as the focus of a full scene/story.
It's COOL!
It's CLOUDY!
It's RAINING! It feels like Scotland again, rather than some Mediterranean beach resort that broke off and floated north! lmao.
Whether this is the end of the abysmally hot weather for the year or just a temporary reprieve before more hot weather to come later in the month, I don't know. But I'm relishing the cooler weather (and thus my ability to work in my no longer greenhouse-like home office again) while it lasts. :D
Seriously, this summer has been freaking unbearable in its heat. And, if this is gonna become more like the norm in even 'some' future years? I'm gonna have to develop a whole new summer schedule to cope with it.
I hope wherever y'all are (at least those of your in the Northern hemisphere where it's also summer) are experiencing some cooler weather yourselves. Now, if you'll excuse me I have stories to wriiiite! :D

The TMI Tuesday strikes back!
General | Posted 3 years agoIt's been a loooong time since I've last done this, and I don't even know if anyone really does these anymore but... uh, yeah! TMI Tuesday. :D Ask me anything you'd like, and I'll do my best to answer you. It can be about furry stuff, my characters, stories I've written, or hell, just anything you're thinking about that you wanna get some random internet person's thoughts on (because goodness knows there's noooowhere else on the internet where you can get that. XD)
What weird thing lives rent free in your head? XD
General | Posted 3 years agoBe it a fact, a long forgotten lyric from an obscure song, a line from a TV show. What's that thing which you can still remember clear as day despite having not necessarily interacted with or spoken about the thing in question for years/decades?
For me, (well, one of many things, haha) it's the name of a TV character from a BBC Kids TV show that aired for one season when I was 4 years old. The show was called "The Fiddly-Foodle Bird", but to this day and not even remembering any of the actual content of the show (which I must have watched when I was 4-6 years old at most) I can remember that the full name of the character was "The Fiddly-foodle-bimbamboodleoo, diddly-doodle-oodle bird."
This lives rent free in my head alongside the entirety of Weird Al's "Albuquerque", most of the "Pikachu's Jukebox" segments from the end of Indigo League pokemon episodes, and the phrase "Lilou Dallas, multipass". Meanwhile I can't remember the recipe for some brownies I've made dozens of times without looking it up. Brains are weird.

General | Posted 3 years agoTaylor Swift is pretty awesome, huh?
Been listening to some tracks from Red (Taylor's version) and uh... I keep finding myself replaying them almost immediately. 🤣
I feel like at some point I need to dive into the last 10 years of pop headfirst and catch up on everything I've missed.

General | Posted 3 years agoShare with me something you've been loving lately. A TV show, a movie, a song/album/artist, a piece of art, a game, ANYTHING so long as it's something that has been bringing you joy. :3
For me, I've been absolutely loving Monster Hunter Rise and the new Sunbreak expansion. It took me so long to get into this game even after it came out on PC, but now I'm loving it, and it's really helping to distract me from a couple of rough mental health days (I'm fine, just... clinically anxious. XD).

Awesome artist open for commissions! :D
General | Posted 3 years agoHey folks!
An amazing artist,
Kaemantis is currently open for some commissions so she can pay her rent after having to fund an operation for a beloved pet. She did this incredible piece of my mouse lady, Cara, a little while ago https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45995449/ and I can't recommend her work highly enough. She does amazing pride related pieces, and is queen of wholesome yet realistic depictions of relationships in her work and worldbuilding. If you've been looking for someone to get reasonably priced art from lately, I highly recommend you check her out. <3
You can check out her journal which has her commission details in it here: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10258680/

FIVE story commissions slots -FULL-
General | Posted 3 years agoHey folks!
I said a little while back that once I was back from my holiday I was going to start making a real effort to open for commissions here more regularly. Well, that begins NOW! :D
My standard monthly Patreon workload aside I currently have work in progress for two repeat clients, but my monthly schedule has space for a handful more stories. So, I'm now open for FIVE additional story commissions, to be completed within one month of the idea having been agreed upon and payment taken.
Commission slots are first come, first serve. I'm afraid my attempt to do a raffle system a while back resulted in WAY more confusion and struggle to get things organised, so until I can find a different more fair method, we're back to relying on y'all to be quick off the mark. I tried to be a little more fair this time by not publicly announcing my opening in advance, so folks can't be here to camp out for a slot at the exact time I open. XD
How do I secure a commission slot?
Reply to this journal saying you'd like a slot, then note me with what you'd like for your story. :) If five people have already replied to the journal ahead of you, feel free to reply stating your interest anyway. In case someone isn't able to go ahead with their commission, I'll follow up with the first person or two after them on the list.
What kind of story commissions are you open for?
As listed on the commissions tab of my profile, you can get a Short (~2000 words, £30GBP), Mid-Length (~4000-5000 words, £60GBP) or Full-Length (~6000-8000, £110GBP) story commission, or a discount "Three Word Prompt" commission (1000-1500 words, £15gbp).
Three Word Prompt stories are what they sound like. A quick, prompt based flash fiction where you provide me with three keywords as well as a couple of basic characters (or a preferred sexuality/orientation) and I write something for you based on those details!
Short commissions are good for single scene vignettes or individual sex scenes without much plot around them.
Mid-length commissions are good for smutty stories with some introductory set-up, or more in depth/lengthy porn that carries over multiple acts/scenes.
Full-length stories are great for more plot driven or complex pieces, or just a whole heap of sex. :D :D
Is there anything you won't write?
I have a Will Not Write List which you can check out! Beyond the items listed on that page, if in doubt ask. I'll ask you to detail your idea before agreeing to take payment. If I don't feel I can work with your idea, I'll be sure to let you know. :)
How do you take payment?
Payment should be made by paypal. Once I've agreed to your idea and the length/price of story you'd like, I'll ask for your paypal email address and send a payment request over. Please don't ask for a slot if you aren't able to get in touch about your idea and pay within 48 hours of this journal's posting. :)
When will you be open for commissions again after this?[/u]
Until the end of the year and barring any major life circumstance changes I'm going to endeavour to open for commissions of some sort here on FA at least once a month!
I have other questions!!
Feel free to ask them here or via a note! :D

General | Posted 3 years agoBack from my holiday! I had a great time, ate SO much delicious food, and walked a whole bunch. On Tuesday last week I walked almost 20km and gave myself a blister, lmao.
Also, if anyone else happens to be in London in the near future, do yourself a favour and go and see Six! It was the most phenomenal show, and even though both the other West End musicals I saw were fantastic too, Six blew them out of the water. <3

Reminder: Out of Office from 15th to 24th!
General | Posted 3 years agoHi folks! <3
A reminder that I'm gonna be "Out of the Office" on vacation from Sunday 15th of May to Tuesday 24th. This means I won't be responding to any notes or posting stories (because I won't have my laptop with me, thus no way to do so). I've made good progress on my work for the month in the first two weeks of May (aka 0 days off, lmao) and I'm still on schedule to finish everything currently owed by the month's end. As mentioned in a previous journal, I also hope to open up for a batch of commissions to be completed in June shortly after I return. :)
Looking forward to my first true holiday (which is to say, going somewhere to relax/have fun and NOT doing any work/volunteering, which discounts all the furry conventions I've been to, lmao) in TEN YEARS. :D And I dare say I'll be well rested and inspired enough to be eager to write a butt-load more stories when I get back!

Good books with trans characters/protagonists?
General | Posted 3 years agoHey folks!
A good friend of mine asked me a question today, and I thought I'd widen the net by asking a whole bunch of folks who I know enjoy reading LGBTQIA+ inclusive stories too. :D
She's looking for books, which is to say novels, novellas, short story anthologies, basically any printed fiction which features trans characters in prominent roles. They can be furry or not. They can be wholly smutty, totally unrelated to sexual activity or anywhere in between. They don't have to be of any particular genre beyond being fiction (i.e. not a biography/memoir/essay collection). She just wants to read some good trans representation (which is to say, don't offer up books where a trans character is traumatised, harmed or made out to be a villain because of their gender identity. Trans folks get enough of that in real life not to need to re-live it in the stories they read), and I really hope that collectively y'all will know some titles I can pass on to her. <3 <3
You can drop the recommendations here or note me, and I'll be sure to pass them on. Thank you ever so much in advance. <3
Trans rights are human rights. <3

Your fave turn based/non-real time/casual PC games?
General | Posted 3 years agoHaving 100%'d Elden Ring, I'm looking for something a little more laid back to play next. Some games that aren't first/third person action games, which don't rely on swift reflexes and timing, and are either turn-based or easily pause-able to let you take your time over decisions.
I have a few games in my steam library I want to go back to which already fit the bill. Stardew Valley, Two Point Hospital, Jurassic World: Evolution, Planet Zoo. But, I'm interested to know if y'all have any other recommendations for games. They can be old or new, so long as they're available on PC and single player (they can have multiplayer, but assume I won't be using it, lmao). :D
I already know about X-Com, Factorio, Satisfactory, Rimworld, Banished and Timberborn, and while there are some great games out there like Crusader Kings and Warhammer Total War, those kind of grand strategy/4x games are a little beyond what I'm looking for right now. :D
And even if you don't have any of those kind of games to suggest, what are you playing/enjoying right now? :D

100%'d the steam achievements for Elden Ring!
General | Posted 3 years agoLikely spoilers ahead!
WOOOO!
I've never played a FromSoft game before (besides about 15 hours of Dark Souls 1, which I bounced off after that), but I DEVOURED Elden Ring. My first playthrough took around 100 hours, and after that I decided I wasn't done, so I started going for steam achievements.
Well, today I finished the last one by completing my NG++ file with a particular ending, so I've 100%'d all the achievements! I think this is the first game where I've ever done that, and omg it was so fun (and frustrating at times, but mostly fun. :D)
I still don't think I'm gonna go back and play any of the other Soulsborne games, but it's certainly up there in my list of favourite games I've ever played. Now I'm gonna focus back on a much more chill game and play some No Man's Sky in my spare time.
If y'all are playing Elden Ring, how goes it for you? What's your build, and who's your fave boss? My first playthrough I went heavy on Str and End with a greatshield and curved sword (serpent blade, the one that restores health on kills). In my NG+ I used the Endgame sword you get from the final boss because I wanted to try out Faith, and that was super fun and wonderfully OP. And in my NG++ run I pivoted to Arcane and used a Rotten greathammer that I used ashes of war to give blood loss or poison infliction alongside its scarlet rot infliction. :D

Commissions in June. Not in May though because HOLIDAY!
General | Posted 3 years agoHey folks!
It's been a while since I opened for commissions on FA, I know! Part of that is because I'm very lucky that my Patreon is keeping me so busy and predominantly fulfilling my financial needs for each month, but next month in particular I'm making sure to be keeping any additional work to a minimum. Why? Because for the first time in years, not just since COVID but since a DECADE ago (not counting furry cons, where I was always running/taking part in writing/D&D type panel events and thus doing a bunch of work for those) I'm actually going on an honest to goodness vacation. To the sunny, exotic city of, um... London. XD
Seriously though, compared to the little Scottish village where I live (very happily) now, going to London is an incredible change of scene. I'm gonna eat sooooooo much food and go see a bunch of theatre, also did I mention about eating lots? :D
The actual point of this journal though is to say that not only will I be holding back on taking any extra work on in May, I'm also gonna be totally out of the office, which is to say not responding to notes, business messages, etc, from the 15th to the 23rd of May. I won't be able to upload stories between those dates either. My apologies for that!
When I return though, at the end of May, I'll be opening up for a batch of commissions to complete throughout June. After that, I'll be making more of an effort to open more regularly (i.e. every month or two), even if the batches might not be huge. Hopefully that way all y'all who have gotten in touch asking for a commission in the last couple of months won't have to wait forever. :)
London. XD

Schedule is weird, will be posting again regularly soon!
General | Posted 3 years agoJust a quick update to let y'all know I'm aware I've been slacking on the story uploads. Due to some other life stuff I've been working in the evenings lately, which is great as it means I'm still writing plenty of new stuff. The downside is that I'm writing when I'd normally be posting, and at 11pm I feel a bit too tired to re-read an old story so I can accurately tag it. I'll do my very best to start posting regularly again though. Literally hundreds more stories to share with you all, haha!
