Posted 13 years agoLesson 1: When you comment on something...don't fucking leave a comment on how you don't like the theme of the art. Say someone drew a picture of a shark girl driving a bright blue Lamborghini and you didn't like either of those things...or you didn't even like the Lamborghini.
DO: Comment on what the art is about. It's purpose. Art has a purpose...that's why it's art. If you wanna leave a comment, comment on how it makes you feel. The theme of the art, what you like about it. Actually have an opinion!
DON'T: Comment on how you don't like Lamborghini's and you don't like the style of the shark girl's hair and that you don't like the beach that she's driving on or that you think that she should be wearing better clothing...because you know what you are doing? You're wasting space, knitpicking, and completely obliterating the reason that the artwork is there.
The artwork isn't there to please you because you like Audi instead of Lamborghini or if you prefer jet fighters over cars, it's there to have a bloody purpose! The art has been drawn AND posted on the internet because the artist feels proud of his or her work and wants to show it off to his peers and receive actual and critical feedback. Such as how well he drew the Lamborghini or how he could be given a tip on how better to draw the rolling clouds as the car zips through the fields.
Commenting on a picture just to say you don't like Lamborghini's and therefore don't like the picture is like saying you don't like bologna therefore you will never have a sandwich ever again...
It makes no bloody sense! You must have had your brain and your colon switched to think that saying "I don't like shark girls" is a valid opinion! I mean yea sure it's your opinion but does it carry any meaning?! All you're doing is stating something you don't like...you haven't contributed to the artist in any way, you haven't sprouted ideas for conversation, and you've only made yourself look like an entitled asshole because you think the artist should have drawn a bleach white Ford van instead of a Lamborghini.
People like this piss me off and I have one thing to say to you...Fuck. Off.
This goes for just saying "It's cool" or "It looks good" or "I like bologna" too. Because again, like the "I don't like Lambo's" argument, it carries no weight! It has no meaning!
I see people bitching about pictures of two wolf males going at it bitching about how they think the picture would be better if there was a female wolf in the place of the other male, and vice versa.
I'm sorry but your argument carries no weight and you can't really back up an opinion like that because the artist isn't there to please you and only you.

Posted 13 years agoHey! Wanna become a great aspiring artist that people will recognize when they feel like it? Wanna get recognized on DeviantArt, Furaffinity and other possible websites that feature art but aren't as popular? Then just follow these simple steps and you too can be pulling your hair out at how little your work ever gets recognized!
Step One: Originality.
Originality is important in your field of work...and these days, that is becoming even more difficult to do, since now...everyone fuckin draws and it's not like you can be any better than those pricks who are RIDICULOUSLY good at photoshop! So the best strategy to originality is just to look up every single idea that could POSSIBLY be related to what you want to draw or could be traced back to it! In the end...you may not even find a drawing you could do...at all! But just in case you do, here's some more steps!
Step Two: Skill
You aren't gonna get very far using silly stick figures and witty dialogue to please your viewers...believe me, I know! Nobody ever pays attention to that shit! So this next step involves you going to art school, getting help from a friend, or just practice like a motherfucker! Those with the best skills to draw the art that appeals to most (in cases of DeviantArt, ZADR, MLP and the like; in cases of FurAffinity, LOTS AND LOTS OF PORN), will get their work recognized on a daily basis! And those who don't live up to those mountainous standards, will end up with very little followers and views that wouldn't make even the cheapest most desperate publisher look your way! So ramp up those skills with that pencil or tablet, because it's constant competition with some good and even some purely shitty artists!
Step Three: People
Being an artist means you have to appeal to people. Be it bronies, furries, junkies, fundies, bunnies and so on. So you have to find a niche that you fit well in and make sure you do things that appeal to your fans and ONLY your fans! Even if you don't really care about the subject you're drawing...who cares! You'll have legions of fans baying at your door wanting more and more art that you aren't even emotionally attached to! Because THAT is the internet artist way!
Step Four: Patience!
An artist like me who has been on the internet for a few years STILL doesn't have a whole lot of attention on his page! Even with all of the art I draw and the regular updating, I RARELY get attention from anyone other than flies and bacteria (which by the way are VERY loyal fans)! So, a good piece of advice to being an internet artist is patience. Again, you're competing with a LOT of people out there...but worry not! The good artists don't usually update often because their work takes a while to complete, however the really shitty artists will post bucket loads of artwork vomit to try and get attention, and will often overwhelm your attempts to get a single decent piece of work even noticed SLIGHTLY. So, patience is a virtue, it may be YEARS before you're truely discovered and have actual followers...unless you go to art school and learn to draw like Leonardo Da-fuckin-Vinci....but HEY!!
So with all of this information you've been provided, you're now ready to go and vomit artwork into the mainstream! Who knows, maybe you'll end up being a success! Maybe you won't! Maybe you'll get fans who will blindly defend you even if they're wrong...and who knows! Maybe you'll actually get your work published...but until then, good luck! Posted 13 years agoSo I told her I was gonna go to counseling...she starts to get upset and blame herself for all of this. I tell her regardless I want my problems fixed, she gets even more upset, she starts saying I don't care about us and that she hasn't helped fix anything. I finally get pissed off, I don't talk to her for an hour, all the while she's trying to call me back and text me, finally I answer the phone, she apologizes for the hundredth time, then her dad comes on, calls me a piece of shit, tells me to get my head out of my ass and says it's my fault...

Posted 13 years agoI kept getting these stupid emails from Democrats supporting Obamacare after I agreed with them ONE TIME about a social issue...and I finally got fed up with it all:
No. I don't want your damn sticker. I have been getting SO MANY EMAILS from you people it's unreal. Yea, there was ONE time that I agreed with you guys on a social issue...but that's not because I'm a democrat! I don't agree with Obama Care at all! But I sure as hell don't agree with those stupid Bible Thumping Republicans either! The ONLY thing I agree with is being a damn Humanist. Being fair to everyone and doing the right thing...not something according to some stupid money grabbing agenda. I don't want free healthcare! I don't want Obama in office, I don't even want Romney in office! I'd rather have another Revolution! Because NEITHER party really follows the Constitution anymore or what our Founding Fathers wanted. This country is going to shit and frankly I'm not letting you people or anyone else bring me down with it. I'd rather be in Canada right now, or hell maybe Norway! They have the highest atheist rate in the country AND the lowest crime rate! How can you go wrong with that? Posted 13 years agoHey it's Jeff's fiance Holly, So I don't know how many of you out there are reading this, who actually care enough to talk to me about all this. Ok, after knowing Jeff for about six years, being together for at least four months now, happily engaged. I've come to look at some of Jeff's drawings for quite a while now, I'm a lil unsure, scared and worried, when I see some of the "different" ones, of him and some other guy. I"m not saying I"m against the whole gay thing, but when I see Jeff's pictures of that stuff, I- Sigh* I don't know what to think, he says all the time that he's not gay and he doesn't want anyone else but me-n that he'll love me no matter what. But I keep coming back to see that and I-Sigh* Honestly this is hard to say, it may seem like I don't understand, and I do love him wit all my heart-don't get me wrong, but what am I supposed to think when I see drawings of him being fucked or him fucking another guy? And most of the comments he makes doesn't really help. I start to feel ill, and pretty scared, and kind of upset. So, if you-any of you be kind enough to talk lil fox who needs someone to talk to, please.

I'm what you might call a Free Thinker, a Humanist, an Independent...I believe this country was founded as a Nation of the People, for the People, and by the People...and I want it to STAY THAT WAY.

I've done multitudes of giftarts for people expecting zero payment in the hopes that I'd get my name out there and my art appreciated...the only thing that has been appreciated however is the amazing silence that my page seems to generate...my point is...I really don't have any fans...
Yes I draw for fun, I draw what I want and I draw because I like to, not that I'm a needy attention hog...though some of my drawings spawn a tiny bit of attention from time to time...I'm just not...known...at all!

Like my art or B. Just want to add to your watch list and don't really care either way and provide absolutely no feedback on any of my work...in which case "go fuck yourselves" (you know who you are...)
I have about 30 watchers give or take...and most of the time I end up going around their work and commenting and leaving praise in the hopes that they'll do the same...sure, some of you have come back and done something in return for me...but come on I've been generous enough to draw quite a few of you some good pieces of work! I mean I included Shantal's character Eero http://katwithknives.deviantart.com/ in a comic that took me 6 hours to draw!
My point is...I've been rather generous to the lot of you lately...ESPECIALLY YOU TONY! So...can I maybe have some comments in return? Some praise for my work? Maybe a llama or a slap on the back for a job well done? I'm trying my best and I update very often...I just get SHIT for views or anything else...c'mon! Generate some traffic for me at least! Show your friends and get them to either watch or comment! All I want is a bit more of a reason to draw rather than my own personal boredom!

I have about 30 watchers give or take...and most of the time I end up going around their work and commenting and leaving praise in the hopes that they'll do the same...sure, some of you have come back and done something in return for me...but come on I've been generous enough to draw quite a few of you some good pieces of work! I mean I included Shantal's character Eero http://katwithknives.deviantart.com/ in a comic that took me 6 hours to draw!
My point is...I've been rather generous to the lot of you lately...ESPECIALLY YOU TONY! So...can I maybe have some comments in return? Some praise for my work? Maybe a llama or a slap on the back for a job well done? I'm trying my best and I update very often...I just get SHIT for views or anything else...c'mon! Generate some traffic for me at least! Show your friends and get them to either watch or comment! All I want is a bit more of a reason to draw rather than my own personal boredom!
And no I'm not being ungrateful...because obviously if I was, I would never have drawn anything for any of my fans that asked...namely people like Nikolai McReady, Joey McPherson, and on multiple occasions Tony Ballister and the like...is it too much to ask for you guys to go HEY This guy's art is great you should check it out! A change in plans
Posted 13 years agoAlright just so I keep things straight with people, I've noticed I've been getting quite a few requests and have quite the list to take care of...
Problem is, I don't really know how well I can complete that list with the fact I'm currently homeless and looking for a place to stay, and the fact that I can't just pull these drawings out of my ass...I draw off of inspiration, not instruction.
So I'm making a bit of a change in this drawing policy. From now on, I'd like to do Art Trades rather than just straight gift arts. It's better than asking for money to be honest, and people have been asking me a lot for certain drawings.
SO HERE'S MY CURRENT AND UPDATED POLICIES YA'LL!! READ EM WELL!!!
1. I will no longer be taking requests for sexual drawings involving any of my characters unless the person asking is someone I've developed a friendship with or have known well enough. Due to the fact that, I don't wanna just draw something and have the person just run off and never talk to me again despite the fact I gave him some perfectly good fapping material.
2. I am getting plenty of watchers on my own just by doing my own thing, which is good! I've been getting WAY more on here than I ever would have on DA, and that makes me VERY happy. However, with that being said, I will be much more inclined to draw what I want since that's what the watchers have come here for.
3. I know I have a LOT of outstanding requests being put out, such as the picture of Anja and Semtexagon (which I'm afraid I have to cancel for now, but I WILL make it up to you by doing another drawing, perhaps one of your own character?), and a picture of Bowser and rmpsi's character, but I'd like to ask for something in return. Anything, a piece of art, a sketch, a comic, ANYTHING that you can give to me in return for me doing this for you. This way, I won't feel like you've just taken the art and ran with it, leaving me to stand there alone as if all I'm good for is drawing porn...
4. For those who HAVE received my gifts, I'm making the call out to you now, I'd like a bit of repayment, refer to #3 to what I'd like.
5. I apologize to anyone who was expecting something from me, but frankly, if you can't take it in your stride and be mature about it, then you don't need to be here.
6. If i put out a lot of drawings of me and my friends, that's because they're my friends...and I'm a LOT more inclined at this point to do things for them than for random people that I may not know or trust.
So the list will be revised and updated and along with it will be reasons why I can, or can't complete that particular request.

I know I'm not THAT good so I don't care if you don't wanna pay me for a picture...and I am getting a lot of requests from a couple of friends so I have a bit of a list to make up. So PLEASE bear with me. I have a FEW standards I need to go by.

1. I do NOT work well with deadlines and I may be less inclined to make you that piece.
2. I'm only so good at drawing but I will put in the MAXIMUM effort to make you the picture that you wanted, I work well off positive reinforcement.
