Hey there!

It's been a while since I've done one of these. Anyway, I'm so happy you've all shared an interest in my work and I just wanna say 2 things.

Firstly, thank you all so much for the encouragement you've left in my comments and shouts. I may have not responded to all of them, but I wholeheartedly appreciate it when people talk about the stuff I post.

Secondly, COMMISSIONS ARE OPENING VERY SOON! I know many people who had an interest in me making art for them. There were only a few instances that I allowed one of my mutuals to privately commission me, and although I felt a bit rusty, I've been working hard to set up a good frequency. My commissions will be paid through Ko-fi and I will add better examples linked in the next journal that are more reflective of my work later tonight for when I'm officially open since Ko-fi's TOS doesn't allow some of the art I usually post here to be put there.

I forgot to mention this last year, so I'm sorry about that. Thankfully, I'm putting in the motivation to type this down in case you guys need a reminder. I'm turning 22, so that's a thing to get excited for. Also, I'm making something that I've been meaning to do for a long time since the start of last year (and no, it's not commissions, not yet at least), so (hopefully) by the time It's done, I'll be posting it on my birthday. If I don't make it on time, well, better late than never I suppose. Anyway, cheers to you all, and I'll be seeing you very soon!

If you've been keeping a keen eye on my work, you may have noticed some slight changes regarding the shading and among other things. That's because I've been updating the source files. After all, I believed that aspects of the art pieces could be improved upon. This, however, has been a habit that's been taking a toll on my work process and my mental health, causing me to have more and more frequent burnouts. I want to try ignoring those aspects and start improving my art and my future work, but I currently have a job, and that has made making me want to push things out faster, which ends up leading me to update the pieces and affecting my well-being. Pushing myself to do these things has been more of a hindrance than anything else, and I want to fix that whenever I can.

Anyways, thank you for reading through my vent. I hope you all have a good and relaxing weekend! I'm probably going to take a small micro-break from spriting right now (although I may post some of my art backlog in case I get a little antsy), so take care, I guess.

I've been wanting to make some more art that has been on my mind for a while, and although I have some stuff already done, I want to wait until the new year, which should be very soon. Looking back, I haven't posted a whole lot on here, mainly because of my personal life getting in the way, but I might as well go over some things I'd like to make next year. Here's what to expect (hopefully):

-Some minor/major Character Redesigns
-Low-poly 3D Models (This may or may not happen depending on my free time or if I feel like it or not (I'm still learning the ropes of using blender)
-Lore stuff
-The making of a new pfp

That's basically what's to be expected. Anyways, Hope you all have a Happy New year, and hoping to see if next year doesn't suck as much as the others :)

Edit: also I might not do commissions this year, believe me, I don't trust myself in confidently opening them up, so sorry about that.

Sorry for not posting anything this month, I wanted to take a break until I had the motivation to sprite something. I'll see if I can finish some stuff in early 2022, so sorry if anyone expected me to make something for the holidays. Speaking of which, happy holidays and hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

After much thought and consideration, I've decided to put my questionable/fetishy stuff under the mature filter. I've come to the realization that I need to take what I'm posting seriously if I want to seem more professional, so sorry for those who won't be able to see that stuff under the general filter, but I hope you understand that it's for the better.

As for some other stuff... damn. I haven't been posting that much this summer because I've been helping out with other peoples personal projects and irl stuff, and since college is starting up soon I might not be as active here as I would've liked to be. Who knows, maybe I'll have enough time to post something here and there.

I'm thinking on ditching the nostrils on the beak and the outfit entirely. I could also make her more fluffier around the neck and maybe even make her an Anthro Owlbear instead of just a regular anthro Owl.

Do these sound like good changes for Vell?
