DIY, Borderlands, and such
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, life is actually going pretty well right now to be honest. payed off almost everything I owed money on (most of which was vidya games >_>;;; ) and school is leveling out. Learning a lot about Adobe Flash and I think I'm getting better at drawing in general.
Also, I have to give props to my fundamentals of sculpture teacher. She's a very firm believer in "do it yourself" and taught me yesterday how to break open the casing on a piezo speaker and change it into a contact mic I can use on my computer. gonna use that in a sound sculpture which should be really fun.
Other than that I've stopped achievement hunting on Halo 3 for now so that i can focus on Borderlands, got it at the midnight release and I'm really enjoying it. three friends and I got a group together prior to the release and decided on classes and stuff so we've been getting a lot done on it.
Other than all that, just working at Subway and taking care of my aquariums. Gonna try doing some art here soon, really been slacking off on it with school and stuff going on.
Anyways, that's about it for me right now, hope everyone's doing well and have a great day!

So this was interesting
General | Posted 16 years agoApparently yesterday around 4:30pm we had a lockdown of the college campus due to the fact there was a murder suspect in the woods. so i got to chill in the hot woodshop and then the computer lab until about 6pm when they decided to clear the campus for a full search, this of course led to a huge traffic jam seeing as the UWF campus only really has one road into and out of it. this meant that I didn't get home until around 7 pm. Then I wake up this morning only to find out that they still haven't caught the guy, but classes are still going on.
Anyways, that's about where things stand currently. just thought that was pretty interesting.

Where is Jenks!?
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, honestly, I've been all over the place, work, school, social life, to be honest I really haven't had much time to be on FA lately, though I've been getting my schedule set and everything so, yay.
in other news, started drawing again thanks to the fact that my Drawing teacher wants us to keep a sketchbook and draw anything we want in it, and no it's nothing bad, just a lot of body work and trying to get the human figure right finally, who knew practicing could be so fun?!
Anyways, that's pretty much all that's going on, playing ODST and stuff, so far it's ok, nothing spectacular, but then again, since Halo: Combat Evolved, since when has bungie come out with anything amazing?
but yeah, hope everyone is doing well, I'll, probably be on MSN and AIM a lot more now and stuff so hit me up there!

first day of classes
General | Posted 16 years agowell, went back to college today, looks like I have a pretty fun schedule, Drawing 2, Western Survey, Fundamentals of Sculpture, and advanced digital multimedia.
However, the thing setting this year apart from the rest is the fact that it is my little brother's first year at college, which to me is extra freaky.
it is pretty nice though, we had been kind of distant for a while and over the summer sort of rediscovered our friendship, which is a wonderful thing, and now I get to play the helpful, knowing big brother as I help him find classes, get his bearings, find books, and just overall learn the ins and outs of college life.
Honestly, it;s kind of nostalgic seeing him, I really do see the same, nervous freshman I was when I first got to college, and I think this is going to be one of the best semesters I've ever had.

General | Posted 16 years agoWell, just got in from Alaska tonight, lots of art to upload and some sketches to finish, but all in all I had an amazing trip.
Basically, it broke down into a land tour and a cruise. Before that though we decided to tour around Fairbanks and drive up to the Arctic circle IN A RENTAL SUV. Well, after flying into Fairbanks late due to plane connection issues, we realized our luggage was not there to greet us, which means I got to walk around Fairbanks, Alaska in shorts, a T-shirt, and flip flops.. yeah, it was effing cold.
Anyways, we tried our jolly little Arctic circle trip, emphasis being on tried because halfway there the transmission started messing up, so we turned around and headed back into Fairbanks where there was still no sign of our luggage. So we went out and checked out the Midnight Sun Festival, which was actually really cool, bands, arts and craft tents, stuff like that. We got back to the hotel to find our luggage happily waiting for us. After a change of clothes we slept very nicely indeed, me moreso because I finally had my contact case and solution
After this we visited North Pole Alaska for some pizza the next day (not kidding, Santa's House was there and everything! :O) Then joined up with the tour group that proceeded to take us on a riverboat ride one day, a Bus tour of Denali National Park another day, and then to Anchorage where we took a glass domed train ride to Seward where we checked out the Sealife center. (lots of cute seat animals and such there, including an otter named Skittle)
We then loaded onto the cruise ship, Radiance of the Seas, and proceeded to visit Scagway, Icy Straight, Ketchikan, and Juneau. In those stops we did things like hiking, Salmon Fishing, Bear Watching, and buying souvenirs.
After a week of endless buffets, seeing the sights, and sitting in a hot tub staring at snowcapped mountains, it was finally time to leave. Honestly, I was a little sad to fly out of Seattle (cruise ended in Vancouver so we drove down there to save some money). I loved the time I spent away from it all, no feeling the urge to check site updates, no running to get online and chat about the latest goings on, just Alaska, me, my family, and my drawing book, And to be honest, that was all I needed to be happy.

BBL ALASKA
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, tomorrow at 9:30 I leave for a two week trip to Alaska, going on a family vacation where we'll take a land tour and a cruise. We're also planning on driving up to the arctic circle as well so that'll be cool.
I'm going to be leaving my laptop at home, so any updates or staying in touch i do will be through my phone. Hopefully this trip will be just as productive drawing wise as the last trip I took up there!
stay safe everyone and I'll see you all in two weeks!

Summah Timez
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, I can officially say my summer is in full swing, school's out, the weather's warm, and I'm not using nearly the amount of sunscreen I should be.
In other news, next Wednesday I will be heading out to D-Day in Oklahoma. For those of you who don't know about it, this is the world's largest paintball scenario game, last year when I went they had around 6000 players taking the field in the final event. Every day they have a certain scenario going on, such as a valley battle that involves taking and holding three key points, an urban type battle, and even a civil war style no hopper hand load each ball style game.
The final even on Saturday morning is D-Day itself. I'm on the allied side again this year, so I'll be loading onto a pontoon boat converted into a landing craft (complete with a drop down landing door in front) and charging up a huge slope riddled with foxholes (shut up) and bunkers full of Axis players. After that the game will move to several other objectives. I think last year we started playing at 7 am, and the game finished around 5 pm that afternoon.
So yeah, really really excited about that.
That's about it as far as the immediate future goes! take care everyone!

General | Posted 16 years agoWell, classes are officially over for me, which means the only thing I have to do this summer is work and stay out of trouble!.
hopefully the break will give me a chance to get out to the beach and maybe even draw more.
That's about it for me, can't really think of much else to write!

Pinko's Vespa
General | Posted 16 years agoAlright, so one of my good friend's
Pinko is trying to raise some money to get a scooter so that she can get around seeing as her husband has to use the only vehicle they have for work.
To raise a bit of money she's trying to sell some stuff. She's also a very talented artist and is also getting into ears, tails, even plushies.
So here is the link to her info for the little fundraiser http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/677496/
Please head over there and check it out, it's going to a good cause seeing as she is stuck without transportation while her husband is at work all day.
I know this journal will probably be read by all of three people, but spread the word if you can!

FWA.... just... wow..
General | Posted 16 years agoSo, I just returned from FWA, and I have to say I had nothing but fun for the entire weekend.
right now my mind is a bit of a blur seeing as it's 2 am and I just got home and settled in, will probably post a journal later going over the event's weekend's in more detail, but suffice to say it was a long, fun, banana phone filled fiesta of madness, fursuits, safari hats, Sparta, and art... ooohhh so much arts....
ok, I'm going to bed now, laters!

FWA? maybes
General | Posted 17 years agoThis is Rumor Control. Here are the facts!
Ok, so, for the people asking. If everything works out I WILL be going to FWA.
In order for everything to work out I will mainly be hoping things come through at work. We just had a person quit out of the blue and throw everything off, but I'm on good terms with the management and I'm also that guy who almost never asks off. So outlook is good on me getting the weekend off.
Not saying a definite yes, but here's hoping for the best!

Triops!
General | Posted 17 years agoAlright, so things are going good for me, school is running along nice and all that. Drawing more than ever so I'm happy.
And today, I got a package in the mail from Think Geek. I opened it quickly to find my newly ordered TRIOPS!
for everyone who doesn't know what they are see this vidya http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4quPALV24Ww
Basically, the water has to condition for about eight hours so I'll be putting the eggs in the tank after class today. Can't wait for them to hatch, should be awesome. plus they lay so many eggs during thier lifetimes I may be able to breed another generation of them after these die off, my first step in TAKING OVER THE WORLD! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!

a lil update
General | Posted 17 years agoWell, lets see, not a whole lot going on. Working on art projects for school, mainly a cardboard chair for 3D design. The thing is taking a gigantic amount of the stuff and I'm having to ask local businesses for cardboard donations.
umm, other than that things are going oddly smooth, work is good, the manager has me closing the store regularly, which is good and bad seeing as yes, she trusts me enough to close, but I get to run around like a headless chicken at about ten minutes before closing because I always swear I've left something not done.
ohh, got a video camera too, so I'll be messing around with that and stuff.
other than that not much is going on, gonna start trying to do more art, which is weird because I'm realizing I don't suck as bad at being an artist as i thought I did.
Anyways, that's about all to this journal, take care everyone!

Curse you Mugen!
General | Posted 17 years agoBleh, so I was looking around youtube yesterday and stumbled upon some mugen videos. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, Mugen (sometimes called Winmugen) is a fully moddable fighting game. It's basically the kind of game you can have Ryu fight Ronald McDonald and Ronald wins.
So anyway, I had to look into it and downloaded it easily enough, and now I'm addicted to it yet again.
also am holding to my resolutions so far (and yes I am going to upload a pic later, at school right now)

General | Posted 17 years agoSo as part of my birthday my parents said they would get me a new phone. Little did I know that they got me a freakin Blackberry Curve. I'm currently typing this out on it. Sooo awesome!
Iz mah BIRFDAY!
General | Posted 17 years agoWoo hoo! I'm 21 today! so weird thinking I'm that old now, in some respects I still feel like a kid to be honest, but who cares! PARTY HARD PARTY HARD!
New years stuff.
General | Posted 17 years agoAlright, so I hope everyone had a good New Years, and yes I know this journal is abotu nine days late but whatever.
Basically it's just me listing off the resolutions I made so I can look back and see just hwo many I'm sticking to.
1. Eat Healthier: I've got a bit of extra padding I would like to get rid of, mainly cause I've been eating fast food more than homecooked.
2. Exercise: I've been lax on my working out and it's really starting to show, so hopefully I'll get to the gym and run more.
3. Be a better artist: This is mainly just for me to submit more art and actually sit down and draw.
4. Learn to color: my drawings are in graphite for a reason...
5. try to learn Parkour: probably the one I will be the least likely to do but I want to try anyway. for anyone who doesn't know what it is google it, it actually looks pretty fun.
and those are my four resolutions for the new year, writing them down here so I can actually have a list to look at this year!

well, I forgot I had a journal
General | Posted 17 years agoGeeze, nine months since my last journal, fun stuff. Just gettign on here and saying I am still alive, and I have not been abducted by aliens recently.
I dun got laid off
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, less than a week after I get a job TRAINING to be a waiter, I got laid off.
As soon as I finished working my shift tonight, I went to the front, clocked out, and collected my charge card tips. When I got my money the boss approached me and asked to speak with me in the back.
As soon as we reached a secluded place she goes through the whole bit of "Well, it's just not working out." and fires me on the spot. I go pick up my paycheck Saturday.
What I find retarded about all this is the fact that they gave me no training whatsoever.
They asked "have you worked as a waiter before?" No
"ok, we'll train you for now"
They then proceeded to make me wait tables on my second night, which was also Valentines day by the way so that was tons of fun. >.<
Oh well, at least I got about 100 dollars in tips out of this.....
This is your bitter, unemployed spotty otter sayin, Mexican restaraunts are only good for eating in, never working for.
