I updated every chapter of When Rufus Met Arrhan
Posted 2 years agoExcept for updating every chapter, there's not much else to post in this entry. I scoured each chapter through Grammarly and did the best with what I had (I have yet to pay for a premium account)

Aggemar's flowing black hair hangs down to the bottom half of his back; stopping just above his buttocks. He's a rotund man whose complexion will grow darker when out in the sun too long. His eyes are identical to his mother's, being the same color and shape.
When asked about his past, Aggemar is a little slow to speak of it. The "How of Aggemar" began when his mother and father met at a bar. Simply put, they shared one night of fun culminating in his existence.
After realizing she was with child, Aggemar's mother (an elf ranger by the name of Jehenna) spent months searching for his father (an orc barbarian by the name of Zag). She frequented the bar where she met his father on the off chance she would find them. When she finally found the man, he asked to help raise the child. Aggemar's mother agreed.
Making about to provide for their child, Aggemar's parents retired from adventuring. Neither of Aggemar's parents married, opting to remain friends and to parent Aggemar equally. They struggled with money but still thrived.
Zag found bouncer work at the same bar where it all started. Jehenna made a living with her throat singing and drums. When she wasn't working, Jehenna taught Aggemar throat singing and how to play various instruments.
Outside of his house, Aggemar was an outcast because of his Elvish and Orcish roots. He would often tag along with his mother when she performed her music on the streets. But, he stuck to the shadows and kept his distance so as to not affect his mother's performances. As such, he learned to observe and listen carefully.
After turning fourteen, Aggemar began performing on the other side of their city. One day, a mysterious and well dressed gnome approached him. With a flourish and a bow, he introduced himself as Orxif Dazzlehelm, leader of the Selune's Eclipse Acting Troupe.
If he joined, they would train Aggemar to be a professional thespian. Upon hearing how much gold they received, Aggemar immediately signed on. He stood to make twice the amount of money he and his parents made otherwise.
Though, he soon learned the acting troupe weren't just actors and musicians, they were all con artists. Because of this, Aggemar received more training than he initially thought they'd offer. Over time, Aggemar ranked as their highest con man.
Conning the nobles was exhilarating, but he still longed to act on the stage. After two years of being passed over on lead roles, Aggemar grew fed up. The group also threatened his family if he didn't perform one last con. After all was said and done, Aggemar quit the acting troupe.
The last thing he heard as he walked away was Orxif Dazzlehelm yelling about how Aggemar would never work in their city again.
Unfortunately, they still threatened his family. The only way to keep them safe was for Aggemar to leave. Having his fair share of regrets, Aggemar bid his parents a teary farewell. He wouldn't have them suffer for his mistakes.
Before leaving the city, he learned one of his innocent marks had been committed to an asylum. Feeling a deep burning regret in his chest, Aggemar visited the mark and vowed he would never con an innocent again.
He wasn't going to stop playing the game altogether, but he would be more choosy with which marks to scam.
For eight years, the Bard traveled from town to town, honing his con man abilities and musical skills. Every place he stopped at, the Bard made more than enough money to keep his belly full. However, the higher his profits rose, the faster his coin fell. Aggemar enjoys the finer things in life, turning into a smidgen of hedonist and glutton.

Edited and Updated When Rufus Met Arrhan – The Twins
Posted 2 years agoI wasn't satisfied with some of my writing. I decided to edit Chapter 1 and update the file. I'm so happy I decided to edit it because there were some typographical errors caused by Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
I'm steadily working on the remaining chapters to rid them of typographical and grammatical errors. I'm hoping they will read a lot better after I'm done. I'm also replacing some of the lackluster thumbnails

It's Finally Finished
Posted 2 years agoI finally finished When Rufus Met Arrhan! The original title was Dilemma of a Giant and a Halfling, but I preferred When Rufus Met Arrhan. This story went through so many revisions before I completed it.
I originally envisioned the story as two enemies finding common ground after being attacked by a dragon. In order for both of them to survive, they had to work together. Eventually, I scrapped that idea.
Then, I tried to make it a little more action-oriented by having Rufus fight some orcs. But, that started sounding a little too escalation for me. I honestly didn't think myself capable of writing action-oriented scenes, so I switched gears yet again. That's when a friend suggested I write a disability allegory.
Every word came tumbling out after I took his suggestion. In my mind, being a halfling raised among giants made Rufus akin to being disabled. I don't think I explored the theme as fully as I wanted to, but I finished the story anyway.
However, I never uploaded it anywhere. It sat on my hard drive for years before I revisited it. Since I was using the character names for a separate story, I changed the characters to Rufus and Arrhan. Then, I set about retooling the story. I'm happy that I'm finally sharing this story online.

When Rufus Met Arrhan
Posted 2 years agoThe whole story is almost complete. I think I have enough material for 2 or 3 more chapters. It's because When Rufus Met Arrhan was written years ago.
But, I never got to posting it anywhere. It didn't even have a title at the time. Lastly, the main characters had different names.
It's been fun reworking the original story. Originally, I didn't dedicate single sections to one point of view. I focused on everyone's point of view. However, I thought it worked better to switch between character perspectives when I reread the story. Besides, if I had focused on everyone's POV, I think readers may have found it confusing and jumbled.

Older Stories
Posted 2 years agoI'm looking to upload some of my older stories that got lost way back when y!gallery had that major crash. I have them in my files somewhere, I just need to find them. It might take me a while to find them.
I'm also taking the opportunity to edit and rewrite some of the stories. As I read through them, I could get some ideas for adding to them or writing other stories. When I found out y!gallery had opened their site again, it was disappointing to learn my old account and its content were long gone.

Rule 34
Posted 2 years agoIf anybody actually reads my journal, I figured I would put this out there.
The Internet needs more rule 34 of American Dad's Al Tuttle! The same statement applies to other characters I'm going to list below.
Del Chillman from Scooby-Doo! and the Loch Ness Monster and Chill Out Scooby-Doo!
Coop from Megas XLR (yes, I know there's plenty, but there needs to be more)
Fat Neil from Community
Broadway, Hudson, Hollywood, and Burbank from Gargoyles
Greg Universe from Steven Universe (we need to see more gay-themed 34)
Bill Green from Big City Greens
Soos, Love God, and Free Pizza Guy from Gravity Falls
Dale from Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil
Stingray (before he was Stingray) from Cobra Kai
Gale Snoats from Raising Arizona
Ralph from King Ralph
Regis from The Legend of Drizzt Do'Urden books
Oliver deBurrows from The Crimson Shadow books
Jak Fleet from the Sembia and Erevis Cale trilogy books (like other halflings, he needs to be appropriately chubby, LOL)
King Robert Baratheon, Sam Tarly, Tyrion Lannistser, and Varys from Game of Thrones (for the latter, with or without cock and balls. If without, I can easily imagine Tyrion being the top)
Willow and Burglekutt from Willow (I can easily imagine the latter becoming Willow's submissive bottom)
Did I forget anything?
PS: Any of these can also cross over with each other, LOL

Posted 3 years agoThis past year has been so hectic! Hopefully, I'll get back to writing soon enough. My current life situation hasn't been the best…
I'm also on the revised y!Gallery if anyone wants to check out my user page. Though, I post the same stories here. https://old.y-gallery.net/user/jerrbear81/

Counseling
Posted 3 years agoI received a voucher for a 30 minute video session with a counselor on Talkspace. I haven't used it yet, but I have talked to my counselor via messaging. This feels like a good first step getting my mental well-being to a better place.
After I use this first voucher, I can get at least two more. I hope a half hour will be more than enough time to create update
