Slowly picking up speed
Posted 5 years agoI will be completely honest here, as of my last two journal posts, I had hit a major wall with my work.
Trying to wrap my head around the idea of the novella series was the sole culprit; I managed to get about three chapters into the first one and found that I was struggling to come up with the open channel needed to translate what I had in my head to paper. It took me a bit more than two months to get through those chapters, then stalled completely, depression and anxiety ensued, and after consulting both the artist for the story, and a friend, the side series was shit canned.
Now however, with the lock down having come and gone in my home town, I've begun proofing the first book, and making head way in leaps and bounds. This was a step that I was dreading from the very beginning of my journey into this series, but now that I'm doing it, I can't believe how easy it is to find and highlight the changes I need to make!
This has really boosted my confidence and I'm glad to say that -- in respect to the actual writing portion of the work -- I'm back on track. It's still slow going, particularly trying to manage writing, editing, life, and work all at once, but I've struck on a rhythm that seems to be fairly conducive to keeping my mental health levels above where they've been hovering for the last six years (borderline suicidal) and I'm glad to say that even though the deadline of publication has come and gone, I am the only one responsible for setting it, and I've given another six months to the writing/editing portion. So in short I expect to have the first draft of the second book ready to be revised a couple times by then and edited shortly after!
I'm slowly picking up speed as my life begins to improve, and if things keep on track the way they seem to be going, it's only going to afford me more energy and drive to make this happen!

Delays
Posted 6 years agoDon't we all hate them?
I had expected to be finished with the last major edit of my story by this time, and have the final excerpt up, but three things happened in the new year that I certainly hadn't expected...
1: I began the moving process in the form of packing up as much of my stuff as I could and still function. I'm only moving across town to a house that my mother owns after the last tenant violated the terms of occupation.
2: I found out that this edit would most certainly not be the last as I have multiple minor errors that I was unable to catch.
And 3: I got hit hard with some kind of bug that laid me out for nearly four days, and I'm only just now getting back to feeling like I can do things.
So there's my news, it's not what I wanted to write, but something tells me that this story is still just well enough on schedule to make it when it needs to. I'm almost finished with the edit, will be sending the updated file to the artist and a friend who agreed to proof read it, and while I wait on them I'm going to do two things: first, I'm going to start on the first part of the miniseries. And second -- which I can actually get a start on this weekend -- I will be getting a 3d animation project set up so that I can begin promoting my book over youtube, and more visually here, on twitter, and on facebook. I don't know how well this will go, but perhaps I can drum up some interest through it.
Either way, that's all for now, but I'll certainly keep my pages posted and up to date,
Until then, cheers!

Miniseries Novellas
Posted 6 years agoLadies and Gentlemen, I have been contemplating entering into an Expanded Universe for the Prophecy Series for nearly a decade -- almost as long as I've been working on the series in its current form -- and I have finally decided exactly how I want to accomplish this...
With each installment to the series I will be writing a miniseries of short stories focusing on events that directly tie into, and are relevant, but do not necessarily fit into the main story. These novella style stories will be short one offs that follow one event [per short story] that lead up to what I personally consider a confusing point in the main story.
With that, I'm pleased to announce the Second Chances miniseries which will follow the events leading up to two main plot points in the first book that -- due to size constraints and overall relevance -- were not clearly defined. These stories aren't 100% necessary to enjoy the story as a whole, but may help to clarify certain events.
I will be making them available separately from the main series, and I plan to offer a limited run package with all three (the main book and the two novellas) books from time to time. If I do end up doing that, the limited run will be autographed, personalized, and numbered.
Anyway I'm getting off track here, but the message is the same, I have a multitude of works planned for this series and with God willing, and no small amount of luck, I'll be able to accomplish this!
Thank you all for your support!
Onward!

Excerpt #2 Up
Posted 6 years agoOkay, things are getting real folks!
In truth I'd meant to post this the weekend of the 21st along side the artist and cover reveal, but due to extenuating circumstances neither of us really had the time needed to complete our respective works by that deadline. However, that being said, I am about 13 chapters from being finished on my end, and with a further four days off work after Christmas, and a day over new years, I should have those chapters knocked out by the end of January.
This will likely push my presale schedule forward by about two months if nothing happens in the mean time, as the artist and I have high hopes that the cover for the book will be finished by the end of January. If that is the case the only remaining tasks will to be to generate some publicity for this project, and finish the chapter art before publication in [hopefully] May.
I am greatly looking forward to this being completed, and look forward to furthering my work on the second book, as well as the side stories I've since begun planning for each installment. (I will have a separate Journal being posted regarding that)
I will be making the announcement for the artist, and revealing the cover on my website as soon as the cover is finished, then the following day I'll everything here as well as the third and final Excerpt for this story. Rest assured that I am not going to simply disappear after this is done, I have so many more stories planned out, and God willing I'll get to finish them!

Excerpt #1 Up
Posted 6 years agoTo all my watchers here,
I've finally managed to get into the position of saying that my manuscript is ready to be sent in for publishing, so here is what I can only assume a long-awaited/ forgotten about post promised what seems like eons ago!
The first excerpt from my newest story titled, 'The Boy With No name' just went up!
I cannot begin to express my excitement at getting this far, and will, in the near future be posting at the very least one or two more excepts from the story.
Please note, there is no art available at this time, however I am working with an artist to flesh out the visual aspect of this story, teaser and submission thumbnails will be added as they become available.
Also I will be posting my website here once I go live, there you can learn a bit about me, and read up on all the latest news and events that help or hinder my efforts to help this series take flight!
I will be taking pre orders sometime shortly before the actual release date, which as of right now is slated loosely for mid May. You will be able to register for a preorder through the contact page on my site, but for right now, the first excerpt is up, and I'm looking forward to taking this endeavor to the next level!
