Sudden Conversation with Myself
General | Posted 16 years agoShared with A Pseudo-Journalist's Surreal DenI'm a writer, first and foremost... That's what I like to do the most...
However, I really don't know if I'm a capable writer at this point of my life.
(How do you define a "capable writer", Jey?)
Well..., I think a writer should be a pretty good storyteller.
(Do you want to tell a story to someone?)
Yeah, I think so, that's obvious!... I wanted to become a writer because that.
(So you really have a story... That's a good start.)
Honestly, I don't feel that is enough... I can't tell if there's someone willing to hear me.
(Does it really matter?)
Are you kidding me?!... Come on, any good writer has his own readers!
(So, you're writing because you want to please someone, don't you?)
That's not what I'm saying!
(Explain yourself, then!)
Explain?!... Okay, you've asked for this!
I think a good story really comes to life when someone hears it and, specially, when someone remembers it with a warm smile... If that doesn't happen, I don't think telling a story to anybody has any sense!
(So, why are you still writing, Jey?)
What!... What are you saying?
(Why are you still writing, KitsuneJey?!)
Well... Hey, why should I answer you that?!
(I'm your inner self... I already know the answer.)
That's not fair!
(And it's not fair when you have forgotten the answer as well!)
Forgotten?!
(You forget it more often that I like.)
All right!... So, if you really know the answer, Mr. "inner self"..., could you be so kind as to give me a hint about what I've forgotten?!
(You have a hero.)
Huh?!... What do you mean?
(You have a hero, Jey... Since the very first moment you decided to become a writer, you have a hero.)
Yes... Yes, I think you're right!... I remember that pretty well.
(Do you remember what your hero said about writing?)
Well... I don't remember the exact words, to be honest... But I think he said...
(Go on...)
...I think he said that writing is an act ...that writing is an act of love ...not a heavy task.
(And when does writing become a heavy task?)
It's hard to remember it well enough...
(Give me your best!)
Okay... Writing becomes a heavy task... if I begin to worry about it?
(Correct!... And what do you worry about it?)
Mockery.
(A-ha...)
Criticism.
(Keep going...)
But most of all... Silence.
(Your fear of not being heard.)
Exactly.
(However, has it helped you with your writing?!)
...
(Answer me when you're ready...)
It hasn't helped... It never helped me.
(Why?)
Because, in those moments..., I don't enjoy what I'm doing.
(And why you should enjoy that?)
Because... Darn, that's so corny!
(Still afraid of criticism?)
No.
(So don't stop!)
Because writing is a creative art... And a creative art is like sex.
(I love your analogies.)
Yeah, me too, he, he!
(Keep going.)
Any creative art..., like making love..., can become everlasting only if you put your heart on it.
(That's what I was waiting to hear!)
And writing is an act of love... love for a memory..., for a happening..., even for a character.
(Being in love with an idea.)
Exactly!
(Should someone else mind if you're in love?)
Only the person I'm in love with!
(...or the idea.)
I think so...
(And people are still free to love your idea or not..., just like you.)
And I'm free to write about that idea or not..., just like everyone else.
(At last you're getting the point!)
Do I?
(Of course!)
Okay... God, I feel... I feel better... A lot better right now!... Thank you.
(Any time... But do me a favor.)
I listen...
(Remember always his words, Jey... Words like these has helped you to come this far.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgkVNK6ViJk
That's why Ray Bradbury is my hero.
(He's mine too.)
I know... Can you do me a favor as well?
(I have no choice, he, he!)
Keep your talent alive!! =^_^=
(I'll do my best... Just like you! ;-D)

My first submissions at deviantArt ^_^
General | Posted 19 years ago"That's me in the corner... That's me in the SPOT!... LIGHT!... "
From the song "Losing My Religion"
sagn by Rapid Eye Movement (R.E.M.)
Now I've done it! One short story and one poem. My first two Non-Furry Literary Submissions are now online at deviantArt-dot-com! ^_^
Okay, I have to say these pieces are only in Spanish because I don't feel comfortable enough with English grammar at the moment... Shame on me! :(
But, in any case, if any of you can read Spanish (besides the Latin American and Spaniard fellows, of course ^^), please, take a peek of these literary pieces. I'll really appreciate any feedback from you :).
In the meantime, keep your talent alive ^_^

My brand new deviantArt
General | Posted 19 years agoI opened an account in deviantArt for all my non-furry stuff, mostly for my writing in spanish. I want to load there some of my short tales and poems.
Honestly, I don't know how big will be this new site. Let's see what will happen in the next few weeks.
If you want to take a peek (sorry, it's still empty, he, he), go to http://kitsunejey.deviantart.com/. I promise to load some of my stuff soon.
(Give me a month. I'm lazy ^^U.)
In the meantime, I'm going to fill this babe with favourites ;).
