Chugging Along
Posted 2 years agoSpent the last couple months burnt out/ withdrawn. Getting back into it slowly. I'm finishing a commission for free and then from there on out I can't take any more comms for the time being. I have some more dinosaurs to draw and other projects to ketchup on.
No excuses for the absence, I let my depression get the better of me and rather than be a downer I lay low until it improves.

Status Report
Posted 2 years agoHey there friends, kameraden, colleagues and compatriots.
I hope I'm doing enough by you guys in keeping up with the commissions. I'll explain why it's only been paid work:
1.) I chose a maintenance position at my job instead of a retail one almost a year ago to-the-day. I work 5:30 am to 2 pm M-F... or rather I would but I'm covering for someone who's out and have no idea when or even if they'll be back. Since the end of January I've been getting up at 3am for a 4:30 to 2 shift. Sleep is already hard to come by, but I also have to get up at 11pm to move my work vehicle since I live with family who work 3rd shift.
2.) My usual routine after work is to decompress for a little bit, get changed and catch up on YouTube subscriptions/ other general things for an hour or two, and then I hit the treadmill and lift. I would like to eventually run a marathon, however right now I'm trying to manage consistent 5 Ks/ 10 Ks throughout the week. After the surgery over the summer I gained weight up to 240 pounds and have lost a majority of it, but I still have a few pounds to go until I'm back to the 190s and I would like to eventually reach my minimum healthy BMI/ Waist-to-height-ratio as I intended to do before I got laid up and had to pee in a bag for 2 months. So by the time I finish a workout and shower it's 6/7 o'clock and I'm well exhausted after already running around cleaning for the work day, so the possible 2 hours I have I'm usually just waiting to get sleepy. Last Saturday I slept around 20 hours because I sleep anywhere around 4-6 hours when working. So that leaves the weekend to get anything done, in between laundry and cleaning the house up. I'm not even going to mention what my IRL relationships ask of me because I'd get angry listing them.
3.) I know I have pieces I myself would like to do still and am working on little by little, but if somebody wants to pay me for my time I respect and honor that commitment. They could easily go to somebody else but instead they chose me, that means a lot and therefore their pieces mean a lot and will take precedent over work that ultimately I just have to make more time for if I want to see them done. And I do. But my health and wellbeing (including my finances) have to come first. Gotta stay alive to keep the lights on before I can utilize them if that makes sense.
TL;DR: There's not enough hours in the day, and if there were they'd likely have been stolen by a corporation already. I currently have a very full and heavy plate beyond creative endeavors, but I am trying to keep those creative bits off of it as I can.
I hope you understand where I'm coming from. Younger/ more depressed me would simply fuck off for years at a time and not even try. You and I deserve better than that. My art and music are what make me feel fulfilled and like I have a purpose, I refuse to let my best years physically only be reserved for income tax.

I am alive, work is still on the way
Posted 2 years agoUpdate
Posted 3 years agoApologies for the radio silence, I had a very eventful October and am just now starting to get into work I started then, now.
As a result, 2 commission pieces I had projected to be done in 2 weeks, like 4 weeks ago, are now being done for free, and I am not taking any more until those 2 pieces are done, if I even decide to do so. I just don't have the time between work and dedicating myself to fitness.
Appreciate the understanding. Will have updates for you soon.

I caught the coof
Posted 3 years agoI tested positive for COVID and it is kicking my butt. I get time off so I'll be able to draw when I'm feeling better. Sorry guys.
Did you know I do music too?
Posted 3 years agoIn addition to drawing, I have been dabbling in music just about as long. I specialize in 80's/90's "New Jack Swing" style music, it's a blend of hip-hop and RnB with some pop elements sprinkled in.
I'm on Spotify, Apple Music, etc., but my SoundCloud is where I make first contact. I've been performing live since high school, started out doing Michael Jackson and Bobby Brown impressions, then I started doing my own thing incorporating their styles of choreography and music. I also have some trap bangers, inspired by XXXTENTACION
Give it a listen, let me know what you think!

Poster Commission
Posted 5 years agoHola!
Was wondering if anyone would be interested in in doing a mostly text based commission for me. Just shoot me a note and we can talk more. I shopped around but the artists I intended to ask were unavailable.

Transparency On My Return
Posted 6 years agoHello,
So it's been a while since I did anything that wasn't favoriting people's artworks, Truth be told, I got tired of creating in this specific context. I would work 8 to 2, come home, and do anything that wasn't drawing because I often ran into the situation of I'm drawing too much stuff that's not what I want to draw... and this is my own fault.
I took on way too many projects that I just couldn't keep up with, this is a problem I have had in the past. It's disappointing that I repeated this behavior, I would quite literally tell myself to finish a picture on or by a certain date, and I lacked the discipline and work ethic in this hobby to do that as a side business.
So I'm scaling back. I will no longer be accepting commissions or RP offers (I already don't really accept the latter but it was never official as far as I can recall... I notice the "On The Topic Of RP's" journal as I type this so I might re-read it but I digress.) BUT I do have some prior obligations to fulfill which I will do, and you are welcome to give me ideas, I just will never guarantee that I will use them.
Hope you're not mad. Enjoy the new dinosaurs!

What a great event for boxing fans, and fight sports fans in general with the stellar performances by both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.

On Pixiv and Tags
Posted 8 years agoHi everyone,
About a month ago I was browsing Pixiv, minding my own business as per usual, checking out the boxing tag like I do, when I stumbled upon a collection of pictures of wrestling in my search results. Some of you have discussed this with me before.
Now of course this might not seem like a big deal to many, but for those of us who are connoisseurs of the puglistic arts, it's a case of apples and oranges. Both are fruit, but you know which one you would rather want.
So I did what I thought was the right thing. I left a comment on one of the artists' pieces, and I told him that both sports aren't the same and all he's doing with tagging wrestling pictures as boxing is mixing up the two, if you want to be overzealous you can call it a "contamination." I was polite and I did my best to let him know respectfully his tags were wrong, because it's literally in a dictionary what the difference between the two is.
This fuckin' guy LMAO
Again, not to make it personal, but he responds back to me in a PM detailing how because nobody has spoken up, it must be okay. Scratch that, one person did, but they were easily waved off. He claims because he makes pictures of girls fighting, period, it doesn't matter what sport he tags it under, essentially throwing his hands up and saying "Don't care lol."
So in response, I told him I would simply keep posting the dictionary definition of boxing on any wrestling pictures that are tagged as the former until he got it right. As long as I can see wrestling pictures still coming up in the boxing results, I will find a way to convey that we have different words for different sports for a reason and his mis-tagging does us all a disservice. (Note: I am NOT adhering to this. This equates to hounding and that's not right. Even if he is wrong my goal isn't to harass him off the site, just to follow the conventions of words.)
Now whether or not you find this petty, I couldn't care less. What I do care about is not seeing our content getting tagged willy nilly like it's all the same thing. e-hentai has a specific wrestling tag, and boxing falls under the ryona tag with all the gore and dismemberment, hardly fair, and he wants to do that to the boxing tagged images. I say no, and I'm putting my foot down. If this causes drama, so be it. If it backfires on me, IDGAF.
If you personally feel the same way, and you know who I'm talking about, please do send him a message and let him know you too don't like what he's doing, but keep it respectful and civil, no witch hunting or anything stupid like that. I want people to be able to create and share their content freely, but in order to do that right, you have to use the proper tags for your pictures. I don't tag my pictures as "wrestling" out of respect for wrestling fans and people who want wrestling content (Also because I know there's a difference as laid out by the fact they have two different words to describe the two different sports) and I'm asking us, as a community of fans of combat sports in general, that we ask him to do the same as a participant. Because it matters to us what pictures go in what category.

NOT Closing Shop!!!!
Posted 8 years agoI won't delete what I originally wrote, but I was way off. I was talking from a place of depression and therefore anger. I'm sorry I ever doubted the people who support me. I've got love for y'all. Being so emotionally charged up and making rash decisions isn't wise and I advise against doing that.
Always take some time to relax, literally stop when you think you're going to reach your boiling point, and remember, like my favorite T.V. Lawyer, Saul Goodman. I don't want this to happen again.
~~
Let me preface this by saying that I am solely responsible for everything leading up to this moment.
I'm dissatisfied with my art career in all honesty. I've worked hard for years to be good enough. For money, notoriety... I mean who doesn't chase fame and success for those things?
However, much like life beyond the screen, you have to be better than others, you have to outcompete them. I'm tired of trying to do that, the number of artists in this subject grows more and more every year and like an overstuffed can some of us get pushed out.
The truth is I think there's a mutual disinterest between us, the viewers and myself. My stuff isn't good enough for attention. That's fine, whatever.
I'm not trying to stir the pot, I frankly couldn't care less what the reaction (if any, though I doubt it) is, I'm going to move on.

Thanks For Celebrating Jurassic June With Me!
Posted 8 years agoHi everyone,
Just wanted to drop a quick thank you to everyone who participated during Jurassic June, the comments, favorites, and new watchers are all appreciated, thank you for your support.
There is one more image that I wasn't able to sneak in prior to the start of July, but it will be done soon. Keep your eyes peeled.
Of course, it's not just June in which I celebrate, so for me there's still a whole 11 more months of dino fighting I gotta fill in, and I hope you'll stick around for that.

On The Topic Of RP's
Posted 8 years agoRight off the bat, it's not "good" news.
Because I'm returning to my more productive artistic self, I don't have time for roleplays. As such, I'm removing most references to RP's in my profile.
However, what this does not mean is that I have forgotten the RP's I was supposed to draw over a year ago. I blew up way too fast to be honest, not that I achieved stardom or anything like that, I just grew too quickly to keep up with the increased workload that demanded.
So, I'm going to ask those who RP'd with me, if you still want those drawings, I need copies of our RP's, I lost mine a while back. Send 'em in as one complete story and I'll illustrate up to 3 pictures from it.

The Nomad Travels On...
Posted 9 years agoBefore you read any further: This is NOT a status update, I have no information regarding this issue and I won't disclose anything that's not common knowledge.
But regardless, I just want to write an "obituary" for my good friend NomadOfTheTwistingSands, their account has been disabled for reasons unbeknownst to me. Nomad helped me get back into the art community through our RP's and tossing me ideas that I have yet to test out, but because I have the utmost respect for them, and I honestly miss them, I'm going to go ahead and experiment with Nomad's ideas they gave me. We've lost a very important member of our community, hopefully not forever, because I'm hoping they return, but for the time being I am actually kinda saddened that they're gone, I definitely don't come back to FA as much as I did, I'm mostly over on DeviantArt making human art now, rather than opening a tab here and eagerly hoping I saw a note in my message box that fleshed out a whole complex story that has actually been interesting and has me re-reading our messages almost like chapters in a book.
I hope you come back Nomad, wherever you've gone, whatever is going on in your life at the moment, I am concerned about you. Thank you for all the good stories, the commissions, and just making this a fun place to be for me.
Now whoever is cutting all these onions needs to stop.

Posted 9 years agoSupporting the Community
Posted 9 years agoHey guys, not too long since my last post, but I got a proposition for you. I want to support the boxing fetish/ kink art community, and my own thought is this, for every femboxing artwork you commission from an artist inside our circle, you send the artist a boxing glove "stamp" that shows you supported a fellow artist and community member, besides having a name attached you could customize the glove how you please to make it your personal stamp. Then the same artist in question would "pay it forward," using their own glove to order a commission from another artist. Ultimately everyone would have a glove from each other.
Basically it's just a way of saying "I'm in the community, I'm an active participant, and I want to show my support." For those of you who don't or can't use Patreon, I think this is a great alternative.
I will work with this concept over the weekend to see how to implement it and make a proper base everyone can use for their gloves. Does this sound good or no?

UPDATE - Please Read!
Posted 9 years agoHi everyone, how are you?
I'm popping in to let everybody know until June 21st I'm going to be busy working on my upcoming debut album. What that means is I'll be working on art projects, but they'll be on the backburner for the time being.
By June 21st my goal is to have both the album done, and have some results for those who I'm working with I'm my art department. I'm sorry for those of you I've left hanging, but this is why I've been absent/ empty handed as of late.
Peace and love, see you guys in a few weeks.

Posted 9 years agoThank you guys so very much for your support over the past few weeks. You've helped me get through what could have been the hardest time of my life yet, but thanks to your assistance I was able to smartly plan ahead and prepare properly. I really do appreciate all of you who have helped, not just recently, but talking with me over the past few months, RP's, there's been commissions, requests, everything! It helps to know when I think my life doesn't matter, there are people who are willing to lend a hand and help keep my head above water when there's a flood.
Much peace and love to all of you. Watchers, commenters, fellow artists, friends, maybe even fans, haha, not going to let it get to my head, I swear.
If you need someone to talk to, I will always leave my door open. If you just want to talk, that's fine too. I'll do my best to pay this kindness forward, and to pay it back, either with money, or with artwork. These are trying times, but it's good to know I have people in my corner against this illness. I'll keep you all in my thoughts!

I'm in need of serious assistance
Posted 9 years agoHi everybody,
So bad news... I'm broke as a joke. I've mismanaged my money totally and through a fault that's completely my own I am now actually in the hole. This would be no problem if I didn't need this money for my therapy and group counseling.
Until I am able to find a job and earn a steady income again I'll be offering commissions at half price. Please consider me to make artwork for you! I will gladly take any help I can. Should only be for about 3 weeks until I have a job but that's $90 I'll need to make it until then.

I'm back
Posted 9 years agoSorry for the unannounced hiatus. I haven't bounced back as much as I thought I would. Depression is funny really, the cure to it is to actively fight it, but you don't want to when you have it, you just feed into the big ball of melancholy in you, and it strips all joy from your life. For a while I didn't touch the tablet or write a lyric.
But this is the first step in many for coming back correct. I forced myself to work on some pictures which you might enjoy. Your support means a lot to me and helps keep me going when I doubt myself. Now, let's have some fun!

Talk to me
Posted 9 years agoI'm 1 commission set down, still 1 more to go!
It feels good completing them, but it's certainly a realization that I can't live off this. I'm not complaining because money is money and I'm glad I can get paid for drawing, but I'm just saying that if you're like me and have dreams of making living amounts of money off your talents, go to school, haha.
Anyways, I wanted to ask what you guys would like to see from me as time goes forward. The future is looking uncertain, but I will most likely be working either full or part time rather soon to pay back student loans. In the meantime this refund cash ain't looking too bad though, lol.
So, come on, talk to me! Let me hear some ideas!
