Birthday Again!
Posted 5 years agoAnother birthday, and honestly after the dumpster fire that was 2020, the fact that that year is over is enough on its own to make this birthday worth celebrating >.>
Another birthday?! Where did the year go?!
Posted 6 years agoAnother trip around the sun and another step down the age line. Wait, I'm 32 now?! Meep, what happened to the last year?!

Birthday coming up
Posted 9 years agoIt occurs to me that my birthday is coming up very soon; on the 24th. I've also discovered that quite a few of my close friends also have birthdays in January, most of them before mine x3. Makes me wonder about all the naughty shenanigans that went on in the April or May prior to those birthdays XD.
Anywho, my hope is that I can get myself a nice birthday gift in the form of a replacement CPU fan, as the one in my PC is broken and off balance, making lots of noise and making the PC get a bit too hot. Sadly liquid cooling isn't an option with this rig or I'd be looking into that.
Aside from that, I also hope that all of those friends of mine with January birthdays have enjoyable ones themselves, full of happiness.
Now excuse me, I must find things. Hmm, now where did put day...*Rummages through someone's very deep cleavage looking for tools* (Yes I love super huge boobs and all the shenanigans that come with them. Big whoop, wanna fight about it? X3)

Looks like the FCC hasn't given up.
Posted 10 years agohttp://action.politicalmedia.com/17.....eover/?ifr=820
So it seems the FCC hasn't given up yet. After 2 failed attempts to pass SOPA which would have given the FCC control over the flow of information on the internet they're now attempting a much more direct approach, and this comes up for vote in Congress on Feb 26th. If this passes, then the federal government under Obama (I refuse to use the term President with his name) will have quite literally taken the constitution and burned it in front of our faces when it comes to the First Amendment and the free flow of information on the internet. I would personally prefer not to see this happen.

Birthday Wuff
Posted 11 years agoAnother year gone by in a flash. The time just flies by when we don't pay attention to it.
So now I'm 27, feeling much the same as the last year, with a few minor improvements.
This time last year my sociopath of a cousin was still living in the house, which is no longer the case. That has been a tremendous reduction in stress, though work is as stressful as ever. Need to work harder on getting a different job, start applying to more than 2 places a week.
That's probably the biggest change, few minor changes here and there that have overall been positive, though not without pitfalls.
At this point I'm mainly happy to be alive and have several close friends out there. Now, time to start seriously saving money for AC later this year!

Little updates
Posted 11 years agoJust wanted to clear out that SOPA journal post, guess I could update a few things in the meantime.
Been working for the most part [job is terrible but it's a paycheck].
Also been through a few hard moments lately. Lost 2 friends from work, may have lost a friend or two online as well, all people I cared about deeply. Hard to deal with but we muddle through somehow.
Trying to get all the bullshit paperwork done to start back taking a class or two this coming fall, going for a 2 year networking degree, since I have to have a Ph. D to be marketable in Forensics, which is what my Bachelor's was in. Keep running into unnecessary red tape or people (seemingly intentionally) screwing up the paperwork I'm submitting.
Anyway, few quick updates. Thanks for reading.

SOPA 2014

Can this even be legal? Could the government really declare all fan-art, in all forms, illegal and impose fines on people for posting it? If so then it needs to be stopped.

Little update
Posted 13 years agoWell, it's been just over a year since I lost my job and was forced to seek other employment. This journal is basically just an update on the whole situation.
I did find another job, in March, and have been there since then. I work in a call center now, taking phone calls 40 hours a week. The pay isn't great, and the calls tend to get bad, but it's money, and that money has helped me stay afloat. If I had a choice, I would be working elsewhere, but I have not been able to secure another position anywhere else as of yet. As soon as I am able to find a job with comparable or better pay, I will be putting in my two weeks notice at this call center.
As for the money I make at this job, it's enough to make payments on my student loans and put a few little treats for myself in my pocket, but it's sadly not enough for me to make payments on my loans and afford rent in an apartment, even with roommates. I would need an apartment with 4 roommates, rent split 4 ways, to make enough, and even then, it would barely be enough to get by on. Hopefully I will be able to find a better paying job and get out of my parents' house within the next 6 months.
As for the situation at home, most folks don't know much about it. Suffice it to say I am forced to live with my teenage cousin, because her worthless father is in prison serving out a four year sentence for two meth charges (he got minimum sentence for ratting out his accomplices). This wouldn't be so bad, if this little demon-spawn wasn't a teenage sociopath, who I know would not hesitate to kill anyone who denied her what she wanted if she knew she could get away with it. She has even threatened me a couple of times, threats ranging from calling the police and screaming molestation to taking a knife to me herself, none of which she has acted on because she knows she wouldn't be able to pull it off.
Anyway, little rant over.
Long story short, I'm surviving, slowly stockpiling some savings whenever I can, and hoping to be out of this house within half a year so that I don't have to deal with a lot of the stress in my life anymore.
On a happier note, Thanksgiving was nice this year. Wasn't chaotic and insane like the last couple of years, and I'm looking forward to the Christmas holidays. A lot of people I know are worried about December 21, but at this point I've decided if anything's going to happen, then it's going to happen, nothing anybody can do to stop it at this point.
Hope everyone else had a good Thanksgiving and got to spend some quality time with their families, or the ones who are most important them!

A new year, hopefully new opportunities
Posted 14 years agoMy birthday is coming up (January 24th) and will mark the 2 month mark since my unemployment started, if I can't find a job by then. Hoping I'll hit a bit of luck here soon and manage to find a job. If I don't, I'll be up shit creek without a paddle...
What a way to start the day
Posted 14 years agoSo I woke up this morning around 7:30 and went into work 20 minutes later, which was going in 10 minutes early for me. Only to find out.....I'm being fired. Why? Because I accidentally damaged a $1000 piece of company property which now has to be replaced. And to cover the cost of this, I have to go, apparently.
Such a wonderful start to the day, wouldn't you agree?

Whatever
Posted 14 years agoFigured it was time to remove the last journal, since it's been over 6 months since it was posted. And unfortunately, there hasn't been much progress made in the way of finding a decent job.
Eh...whatever.
Eh...whatever.
Final stretch of the first leg....
Posted 14 years agoEver since February I've been up to my neck in school work - whereas I would much rather be up to my neck in some feminine flesh - but I digress.
On Saturday, May 7th, 2011, I will graduate with a Bachelor's of Science. This is the first big step toward making myself marketable in the real world. Unfortunately, to be marketable in my field, which I somewhat doubt anyone is interested in, so I will simply not state it, I require a Ph. D and Board Certification in order to work where I want to work, doing what I want to do.
That being case, I have made my plans. At this point, my plan is to work up an income and get back in shape for the next 6 months or so, and to enlist in the United States Air Force this winter. If I am in the military, they will ensure that I have a steady income and will help pay at least part of the cost for my continued education in a Masters' program.
That's all I can think of, for now.

Posted 15 years ago2010 is finally over, 2011 is only beginning.
About time I got rid of my last journal entry.

MW2?
Posted 15 years agoJust suddenly had a random thought: Any folks out there who play Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2? If you do, what are your thoughts on it? Also tell me which system you play it on.
Xbox360
Playstation 3
PC - whether that's through Steam or simply through the game disc

School is nearly OVER!!!
Posted 16 years agoWell, finally another semester is drawing to a close and hopefully I will have more freetime in the near future. There's still the matter of the graduation ceremonies that I will have to work during (hurray for stupid parents) and then I SHOULD be free for a week or two.
I say a week or two because I signed up to take a "Maymester" class. For those that don't know, this means a class that meets for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week for 3 straight weeks, and in the end you get credit for taking a 3 hour credit course as if you had taken it for a whole semester. I have to take this class for 2 reasons: First, to meet prerequisites for a class I signed up for in the Fall, and second, in order to graduate by Fall of 2010. So no, I am not graduating this year, I will only be serving the parents of the people who are graduating.
I want to apologize to all the people I watch but have not kept in touch with. I have been lurking around FA when time and internet permit, but I have not been all that talkative. Sorry everyone.
I have been trying to get steam to work for me but it keeps kicking me off every 30 seconds. Does anybody have any tips on what might be the problem? I've already tried a system restore, spyware/virus check, reinstall, and checked my firewall settings, none of those fixed the problem.
Hopefully I'll be more active on FA and my messengers in the future. Hope everybody is doing ok and I'm sorry if I ticked anybody off by not being here!
