a few people have been asking me about when i'm reopening for commissions, and while i don't have an exact date for you, i will accept a few more before this month is over! so just keep an eye on my fa/ig/twitter. it won't be first come first serve, so you won't need to send it in right that second, and if you want to be ready, you can always note or email me for a quote now if you like!

i have two folks on a waiting list and will be taking three more commissions on top of those for a maximum of five, and the completion time range for those suits will be for APRIL-JUNE, and delivery for/at AC will be available for this set. as always, artistic freedom commissions are encouraged and offered at a discount. :D

i know this is a little different than a lot of other suitmakers do, but i'm hoping to keep this system since it frees me up to answer quotes and questions year-round without having to close my inbox, while at the same time offering you guys super short turnaround times of 2-4 months to have your suit made, and lots more one on one time per person since i only have a few customers at any given time.

i do also offer artistic freedom suits for a flat rate of $1900. a lot of people have been asking, so just to explain a bit, i love spending time on these and coming up with creative markings and using all my rare one-off furs that i haven't found a place for anywhere else, so no, you will not be getting a boring plain-cut single colour suit at this tier. usually folks provide me with a general species range (a canine, a wild feline, a house cat), or maybe a range of colours they like, any prompt like that -- and we go from there.

i am back home!! thanks to a ton of help from julie & the sebastians, without whom i would have been significantly more exhausted and also probably i would have starved to death

fwa is my original furry con -and- my hometown con so i am always kind of partial to it but this year was absolutely fantastic. thanks for all the support, guys! i'm going to unpack and reorganize the workroom over the next few days and then get back to finishing up three more suits that are near-fully complete.

i've had a customer drop out at the last minute due to pretty extenuating circumstances so i am trying to help comp the space in a way that benefits us both, so we will use the foam head we already have and you will get that much closer to a quick-turnaround fursuit. if you like dogs. dog heads. we could probably mash it into a foxshape, too.

blkrghfh! hello fa how are you i suppose i should update my journal

i had to cancel my trip to anthrocon at the (nearly literal) last minute because i managed to mangle my hand by flipping over a pan of boiling oil that was on the stove, which melted! all the skin off the side of my right hand and palm and thumb. i couldn't use it at all for almost a week and had it wrapped up for nearly two, which would've killed my ability to take work at the con. i tried to stick it out anyway, but when i couldn't even pack the car the night before i was planning on leaving, i just sort of gave up. i was pretty bummed about it (understatement) so i didn't say much, but stuff happens and there are other cons to look forward to. sorry i missed so many of you guys. ;-;

anyway, i've got three more suits from the last couple months that need to be updated here -- i just haven't gotten any photos of them quite yet. these days i'm most active on TWITTER: (( https://twitter.com/joecifur )), which is where i dump a ton of WIP photos and sneak peaks of stuff, all at the low, low price of your being able to tolerate my occasional post about a video game or picture of my dog.

i'm still working toward wrapping up work owed to work toward a faster average turnaround, so i'm taking commissions very sparingly right now, but if there's something you're interested in or something that you need help with, you can always drop me a note and i'll get back to you.

i have 15 current commissions counting the new commissions for beginning 2014 completion that i've taken recently in the past few weeks, and at the end of this month after completing a bit of back-owed work i should be fully caught up for the first time in forever! thanks for the support, guys, and i should have some more stuff up and some additional updates for those of you upcoming in the next month or two soon. :3

thinking now that i have my commission workload (including those new ones i picked up last month) down to a reasonable 10 folks remaining , i might open up for a couple of black friday specials to tack onto the end of that list since that's sort of an exciting thing to do.

i won't be opening for as many slots as previous years since i'm working at eliminating my queue altogether to start keeping my turnaround time low (and thank you to those of you who've been bearing with me in the meanwhile, i mean jeez, seriously, you guys are awesome).

Hey, FA -- I'm still alive, but closed for commissions for an indeterminate amount of time while I finish up the ones I have.

I've only got a couple of commissions left from my original 2011 batch as well as the three I took on for completion this year, so those are going to be wrapped up soon. New photos of three new suits up this weekend, including one cancelled one that I'm just going to put up straight for auction, so keep an eye out for that.

If you're waiting on a message from me look for one this weekend as I'm dredging back through eveything to get to the last couple of people who are waiting on info. Sorry, I can't answer any new commission inquiries or quotes right yet.

Played through dragon age II twice now, not counting the two dozen saves I rerolled over and over to eek out additional Hawke / Anders conversation options that I could not find on youtube. #whatiswrongwithme

Totally different feel than the first game while still ... feeling like Dragon Age, I guess. It's pretty clear this is a set-up for future DLCs though and I sort of want them to happen now, not months from now. But all of my various complaints are overwritten by how much I love the cast and how much more legitimate their interactions with each other feel. WHO HAS PLAYED THIS? ._. I am this close to commissioning angry little Justice icons hwaaaaa

Those who've sent in inquiries this week I've gotten another handful of commissions done so standby and I'll be getting to those. Only a couple new suits next month since I'm taking some time to make stuff for FWA~ where I will have a dealer's table but otherwise will probably be driving back home at night and hanging with my Spinfriends who're coming down for the weekend.

I have THREE available commission slots for heads, partials, full suits, etc. Exact due date may vary (expect ~May-June) depending on the order they're placed, but I do have at least one that I can guarantee for AC. To make this go quickly I'm going to try and get to those who are interested in placing a commission first, but I'll try to get back to just initial quote requests too.

I've been working toward keeping a shorter deadline for a long time now and capping out at 20 commissions at a time with the ultimate goal of going down to 10, and the next step in smoothing things out is I think going to be slightly tweaking how I handle quotes and commission requests without just fully automating it (which is meh) or spending so much of my day every day on just emails when I could be working on suits. So bear with me for a few more weeks..


Those of you already on the list, updates as always are on facebook, twitter and my livejournal (to a lesser degree). Out of the seventeen current commissions two more are going out shortly and the two next month should go quickly as well.

So, Wednesday we're leaving to pick up a friend in North Carolina and then Thursday we're going to be driving the ~9 additional hours to Furfright. I am pretty stoked as this is inevitably my favourite con, attended by the most of my friends, and this year's bonus is that somehow half of my guild from Warcraft is going to make it as well. HUZZAH


In the meanwhile email / etsy shop is going to be temporarily shut down while we're gone; will be back in the start of November, at which point we'll take on a couple more new customs now that I've had the chance to finish up a few more existing ones first. One alteration left here which will be going out at the start of the month as well.

Next month should see a kangaroo ( :D ), another snow puff, and a canine or two on the horizon since I've already got a head start on their head sculpts as well.
