My FurFright "Draw or Die" art...

comus' page, because I'm basically too lazy to post stuff and Comus, being such a nice guy (and attention whore) volunteered to put it on his page where it will likely be seen by a lot more people than will ever pass thru these parts...
I had a great time at FurFright (If anyone's interested) and very much enjoyed hosting a session devoted to my anthro hero "The Incredible Hare." (Just wish a few more folks had shown up, but those who did had a splendid time.)

My writing, editorial & graphic design services now availabl
Posted 13 years agoThere are a lot of folks advertising for commissions in the FA banner ads, but I’m making my own, quite different talent available…
if you haven’t caught my banner ad (and they can be quite elusive) I’m now offering my expertise as professional writer to FA members who need help getting their own literary projects in shape. (I’m also quite good at doing Photoshop graphics, logos & general design work.)
Here’s the link to the top-secret, furs-only page on my joestrike.com website that will tell you the whole story:
www.joestrike.com/websitepage.html
There are no internal links to it within joestrike.com; it’s only reachable via FA.
Hope to hear from you!

I just started a thread on the FA Forums Writers' Critique page asking for feedback. If you want to check the thread, here's a link to it:

Just as a reminder, this is the kids'/furs' novel version of a TV series I've yet to get off the ground. In the TV show his origin is explained in the opening title sequence beginning here:
but the book goes into a bit more detail about How It All Began...

A live-action "My Little Pony" ?
Posted 13 years agoNo, no, of course not - but I made you look! (I'm a sneaky bastard, aren't I?) I just mashed up my two latest AWN articles into one deceptive journal title:
My report on last month's Bronycon convention:
http://www.awn.com/articles/events/.....t-big-bronycon
and another ten-best list (I love doing these):

WHILE WE'RE ON THE SUBJECT:
I'll be making an announcement about my writing and editorial work soon; watch this space...

My review of Pixar's "Brave"

This is the second film from Disney or Pixar in the last ten years featuring a bear transformation. (I wonder if this is how they found all those Country Bear Jamboree musicians...)

Posted 13 years ago'My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic' article... by me
Posted 14 years agoSome of you may know I'm an animation journalist & have been covering cartoons for awn.com, an animation industry website for quite a while now. Since they stopped paying me in favor of my occasionally blogging for them, I only write about subjects I'm personally interested in - like MLP:FiM:
http://www.awn.com/blogs/miscweant/.....es-and-bronies
I'm planning to write a longer version of this article that'll go into more detail about the show, MLP's history, Lauren Faust etc - and bronies. (Speaking of which, in Ponyville I'm known as "Crackerjack" - thanks to
speet for suggesting that name.)

These were given to me by a Huzzah! contributor who wishes to remain nameless, and due to my perilous financial straits, I've put them up for auction.

Apologies to all who have been trying to reach me; expect to hear back from me very soon too.

Yay AnthroCon, yay, yay, YAY!!!!
Posted 16 years agoWow, I am still buzzing from the great time I had this year in Pittsboigh!
Don't know why it made such a huge impact on me this year as opposed to past ones, but it did. Maybe it was the feeling of being a part of something that's growing bigger by the day or maybe it's no longer giving a damn what people think furries are. Right now I wish I had the $$ to go to a few more cons, but I'll have to wait until FurFright in October.
I wrote up a con report for fanboy.com, the blog I contribute to:
http://www.fanboy.com/2009/07/furry.html#more-8190
And in conclusion, I can only say 'hoo-hah!!'
