Some people have asked me if I do 3D commissions. I think a previous journal entry stated that it'd take a while to finish work like that, and that I wasn't all that confident in my 3D work at the time.

I may redact that statement (or at least modify it) ...


Are people interested in getting 3D commissions from me?

There are FAR BETTER 3D ARTISTS out there than me who also offer the same thing, and they probably have a better grasp on converting files to SFM, SL, or VR Chat. If I can learn to, I will try to see about making proper export for SL and VR Chat at least. There is no reason to offer 3D commissions if nobody cares for them, though.

In the middle of a stream, my tablet started to lose pressure. While it still functions, I feel like I may need to buy a new one soon.

However, I don't have a lot of money at the moment, so I've been wondering:

Would people be interested in a YCH pic (SFW or NSFW) to pitch in for a new one.

I don't like asking for money, so rather than just ask for donations, I'd rather make something for people in return. And if nobody is interested, then I'll just buy a new pen, and deal with my current hardware until I have a nice sum from commissions to buy something, then. It just sucks to have it hit at a time when I'm actually feeling confident with my art.

AS A NOTE -

I'm not aiming for a high-end tablet. :P I'd be fine trying out a Huion tablet for this. Something priced well, since Wacom likes to charge a lot. Problem is I dunno how reliable Huion is, or if there's a better option than those two brands.

Just curious. I've got a new project I started up (among the myriad of projects I haven't finished .. .go me! <3) and I'm curious how people have been fairing, transitioning to some of the newer features/UI choices.


So far, I'm a little weirded out that some of the shortcuts are different, but I'll eventually retrain myself. Been attempting to get used to the tabbed Workspaces. Seems neat, but the Outliner is weird, now that they have a new display function for meshes that I'm not quite certain about.

EEVEE is pretty sweet, even if it's just a real-time graphics simulation, at best. Would have loved to have seen it come out when real-time Raytracing was .. well... an actual thing, and not some pretty tech demo. Screen-space reflections were a neat trick to create visual of blurred reflections without killing GPUs, but the effect always felt too muddy to feel "good" at a glance. Still messing with baking normal maps in Blender, but the results I've managed recently seem alright, and EEVEE is taking advantage of it pretty nicely.

Haven't gotten much further into it. Still need to fuck around with Grease Pencil, since THAT looks pretty fucking great from the videos on its development. Will see about maybe trying my hand at 2D animations again... as time consuming as that is. xD

I will be posting to other places. Any animations I had on there I will need to re-post, but I think I'll be using Twitter and Mastodon.ART for WIPs, Sketches, and random/misc. things.

Dunno if they allow it, but WEBM work may show up there, if not my DropBox.
