Hey, so, about gender tags, etc?
Posted 5 years agoIf you don't like how I tag my characters, stop following me and fuck yourself.
They're tagged the way they are because that's how they identify. I've been over the issue of DID before, and how these aren't "just characters" to me. They're individuals, with their own preferences and lives, personalities and beliefs. Some prefer Trans, some prefer Herm, so on and so forth. You want to die on the hill of PC bullshit? Cool, do it somewhere else.
I've seen a few too many people pulling the SJW card and Virtue Signaling lately for my own comfort, so I'm just throwing that out here before I get anymore flak for it than I have in the past: Fuck you, fuck your opinion, it's my decision and you don't have to look at a goddamn thing of mine. I'm neither A: hurting anyone, or B: violating any rule, regulation or law.
So yeah. Throwin' that out there now, just to get it in the open. I'm not going to engage in so-called "discourse" with anyone about how "wrong" I am. You're a cunt if you try it. Period. Full stop. I'm normally a saint; I'm normally an INCREDIBLY patient and nice person. Ask my friends, my customers, complete strangers I've been cool with time and again. But on this issue?
Call me a prick if you like, but that's where I stand. Don't like it? Too bad. I'm gender fluid, I'm older than more than half the whiny little bitches trying to get into people's business, I'm sick, I'm tired and I'm not putting up with your immature garbage.
To everyone who's been cool to me for all these years on FA? You guys are great; love ya. We've always been cool, and always will be. Don't think this is aimed at you, or even any one particular individual. I'm just tired of some really toxic shit I've been seeing of late, and I'm not standing for anyone trying to bring that my way.

Out of the hospital and on the mend.
Posted 5 years agoFor those who are interested, I'm out of the hospital and in recovery. Doing a bit better, though not perfect, and I'm going to be recovering for a couple of weeks before I'm back to what I'd call "normal".
To those who showed concern and wished me well, thank you so much. It really does mean a lot that some folks cared enough to comment. Hope you're all doing well.

Hospital update
Posted 5 years agoStill in the hospital, on a lot of antibiotics. No idea when I'll be out. Thus far, no word on whether I'll be dealing with surgery, either.
But I'm alive. So there's that.

Going into the hospital
Posted 5 years agoNot going into significant detail, but I'm very unwell physically and going into the hospital tonight. Don't know what's going to happen, what's wrong with me, or what treatment will amount to. I'm scared and in pain, but wanted everyone to know what was up.
I'll update when I can.

I need more artists...
Posted 5 years ago...With reliable work flow and quick turnaround time. I actually have money right now, but all my artist friends are either on hiatus, having trouble or just...AWOL. It bums me out, 'cause I so rarely have commission funds, but I've been doing well with my writing work lately and I want to get more work.
I'm at least waiting on one piece that should be in relatively soon. Just need more trustworthy and reasonably quick artists. Every time I get a new artist I have this trepidation about them, though; I've been burned SO many times now ;_;

Artist needed for story cover/art. Special requirements!
Posted 6 years agoAlright, folks. I haven't gotten any new art in a while, but I've been getting back on the bike with my writing, and have a finished story in the wings. What I'd like, though, is cover art, or even just an eye-catching art piece to go with it.
The very specific requirements, though:
I need an artist who's comfortable drawing humans.
I need an artist who's comfortable drawing feathered/winged characters.
I need an artist who likes BBW and Shortstacks.
They must be willing to work from real-life refs of one of the individuals; my commissioner and friend has provided me with pictures of herself for this purpose.
My budget is currently sitting at $50, but I may be able to work out some wiggle room. I'm also hoping to find someone with a good turnover, because I've had a lot of artists (and I mean a lot) flake and burn me, which is part of why I haven't GOTTEN any art recently. So...Like...If anyone reads this and knows of anyone, or is an artist looking to help out, just note me or comment below.
Thanks!

A chance to get Undertale on the Switch! (Possible trade?)
Posted 6 years agoThat's right, folks; I have a download code for your own copy of Undertale on the Nintendo Switch. If anyone would like it, I'm happy to trade for a modest piece of art (It's a $15 value) if you're up for it, first come first serve, but if nobody wants it then I'll be choosing a random person who comments for it in three days.
So, that's it. Want a copy of Undertale if you don't have it? Either trade for the code, or just comment and we'll see who gets it via an RNG on the 13th.
Happy Holidays!

Creative Exercise! Let me craft you a Sci-Fi character?
Posted 6 years agoHey everyone. Been a while, and I'm kicking around trying to chip the rust off of the ol' writer's block. So I had a random idea, and thought I'd throw it out:
Would anyone like me to create a random Sci-Fi based character for them, just for fun? If so, comment below. Here's what you'll get:
Character name.
Species.
Description.
Ship model.
Notable Crew.
Current activities.
Adult Info, if requested:
Sexual Preference.
Kinks.
Notable sexual escapades.
Lovers/Frequent Partners.
Any other details can be asked about post-creation, and you can choose Adult or Non-Adult. The character will be from my main Sci-Fi setting, though I can also do my Post-Apocalyptic setting if that's more your speed. If you have a general liking for a certain archetype (Mechanical, Near-Human, Mammal, Reptile, Aquatic, Exotic, etc) just include a request for something like that. Same goes for sexual preference.
These're just concept characters, but I might use them for stuff later with permission (Writing, art of both adult and clean varieties, etc.)
I'm not really expecting any takers, but if this does work out I was considering doing this for other settings later. So...Uh...If anyone likes the idea, just comment? Kay?
Thanks, love ya guys.

Happy Halloween, folks.
Posted 6 years agoThough I've not been doing well, and have been on something of a hiatus, is still important of me to wish everyone out there a happy Halloween! It's my favorite holiday, and also my anniversary with my poly-family.
So have fun out there kiddos; watch something spooky, get some treats, and just enjoy!

Hoping for Halloween Art. Anybody up for it?
Posted 6 years agoI'm considering whether I can get some seasonal goodness this year, as I've been a bit slow on the art collecting gig these last few months. I know a few artists on here, and I'm wondering if anyone was planning some seasonal works, either for commission or for free? Just curious; my budget's pretty slim right now, but I like to plan ahead.
Doing a bit better.
Posted 6 years agoHopefully I'll be back on track soon. Again, sorry for the delay. Just coping with my cat's death, and some other stuff. Sick right now, which suuucks.
I just lost my cat...
Posted 6 years agoI'm posting this as a heads up to anyone who knows me; I'm going to be taking a couple of days off from writing and other projects. My cat, Lexi, passed away today. I'm really torn up about this, and need a bit of time before I try to get back into a head space conducive for creativity.
Sorry for delays on the seasonal shorties.
Sorry for delays on the seasonal shorties.
Possibly going to open Shorties for Halloween again.
Posted 6 years agoJust wanted to get it out there that I may do Halloween short stories again this year, focusing on properly seasonal things.
We're talking probably around a 5K word limit, payment only upon completion (per usual), with my normal caveat and warning that if I get a block, I won't be able to work. S'why I don't take payment up front.
But, if anybody's interested, let me know via PM and I'll see what I can do.
Going to be low-balling prices, per usual with my Shorties, so expect a few bucks off if you do get something.
Seasonally appropriate themes this year will include:
Ghosts.
Demons.
Monsters.
So yeah. Just let me know!
Love ya all;
Joe.

A terrible, dumb idea that I love.
Posted 6 years agoSo I've been working on my Pokemon tabletop concept that only I give a crap about, and I just had to throw this out there:
An obsessive trainer who is basically a Pokemon conspiracy theorist, but whose focus is NOT on legendary or rare Pokemon. Rather, on the concept of totally mundane Pokemon and how their evolutionary lines make no sense. A "Sane man in an Insane World" character, who wants nothing more than to prove that he's not insane by finding a pre-evolution of one particular Pokemon just so he can verify its existence.
This Pokemon? Doduo. The pre-evolution which I've decided WILL be a thing? Doduno; a small Flying-type still in the shell, save for feet and a single long-necked, goofy looking baby bird head. This poor sucker'll never find one, and even if he does, I'm going to make sure that little fucker evolves before he can prove it.
Welcome to Hell, long-suffering conspiracy theorist Pokemon guy.

Signal Boost: Help save a beloved pet!

If anyone wants to help out Tiki so they can save their fish-baby, it'd be a lovely thing to do. I don't have the cash for it right now, but I can at least signal boost and help out!

Any artists I know who use Clip Studio?
Posted 6 years agoHey folks. I don't normally do this sort of thing, but my wife was hoping for a bit of help with an art program she's trying to learn. She's never had any art program before, and is starting with Clip Studio.
https://www.clipstudio.net/en
She's hoping someone out there that I know can actually help her out with some pointers, or even walk her through some stuff if possible. Anyone know the program and mind lending a helping hand? Get in touch if you please.

Nerd Pile of Shame.
Posted 6 years agoSo, I've been working slowly on an endeavor on my end of things.
I am, for lack of a better term, a collector of nerdy media. Comics, novels, movies...And games. Hundreds of games. Thousands, even, across the generations.
So I have decided to start chiseling away at my Pile of Shame, as it were. Here's where you folks come in:
What sort of game should I play next? Action, RPG, Horror, FPS, Adventure, Survival, Retro Classic?

Posted 6 years agoOh yeah. I'm gonna have a hard time waiting for this movie.
Spoiler Free: Shazam and Hellboy
Posted 6 years agoSo, I'm on something of a new movie kick recently, and have now seen both of these films. Opinions?
Hellboy: B+, maybe A-. Pacing is a bit wonky, Milla Jovovich is still a fucking travesty as an actress, but everyone else is solid, and the level of respect for detail and comic lore is on point. There are, of course, differences here and there. That's fine, though; I didn't expect them to be perfect. My biggest complaints are, again, Jovovich and her inability to act her way out of a paper bag, and the soundtrack. It's NOT a bad soundtrack, but it is INSANELY LOUD and intrusive sometimes. The movie would be a solid A- if the soundtrack would just calm the FUCK down for thirty seconds and stop accentuating every single scene with a new song screaming for attention. We get it, you wanted to make a loud, fun action movie. Shut the fuck up.
Shazam: A- to A. Again, pacing's a bit weird, but the villain is good due to a strong, serious performance in a movie with a distinct sense of humor, the main cast and secondary cast are strong, visuals are great (save for one or two rough spots of CGI being too pervasive), and it's all in all a fun film. Weak points are probably the use of one of my least favorite tropes, the Precocious but "special" child (usually an autistic child, which seems to be the implication here), as well as ignoring some of the movie's own rules for the sake of cool/humorous things. Still, I can happily say it's a very solid film, with an interesting mid-credit scene involving a rather obscure villain.
Going to try and catch Captain Marvel before Endgame, as well.
If anyone wants a more in-depth discussion about the movies, feel free to let me know. If you don't mind spoilers or you've already seen them, can discuss the strong and weak points.
Either way, check 'em out for yourselves if you can. Good times!

My personal art.
Posted 6 years agoI don't do it often, but one of the things I do on the side is actually visual art in the form of pained canvases featuring Veve, or Vodou religious symbols. As an ordained minister in the Universal Life Church, specializing in the esoteric and less mainstream religions, I have practice with rituals and symbols of various faiths, including Vodou. I find the Veve to be beautiful symbols, powerful in both meaning and appearance, and have made them for protection, luck, love and wisdom for others in the past.
I just finished one of my canvases today, a freehand Veve painted for a loved one. It's rough, and due to the nature of Veve the exact design varies from creation to creation, but I rather enjoy the work of making them. Each piece is blessed and properly tended to, in the most respectful fashion. Would anyone be interested in seeing one of my projects? It's nothing professional, but it's not meant to be.

Q&A No. 2: Other Settings and my OCs.
Posted 7 years agoAnd here we have this one, for questions to ANY of my OCs, or about ANY of my settings/projects not related to my Pokemon Homebrew.
Ask me (us) anything you want, and we'll answer. No holds barred, as far as we're concerned.

One of two Q&As I'll be posting: Pokemon Setting Q&A!
Posted 7 years agoAlright, folks. Been a while, so it's time for another Q&A Session! I'll answer any questions here about my Pokemon Homebrew setting, and you can ask questions of characters FROM the setting if you like.
Last time we had questions about Poke balls from the setting, and not much else. So by all means, go nuts, ask what you want.
People who'll answer questions, if asked:
Professors Peach, Peach and Plum from the Triple P.
Charlotte (Guest from
Ninjacharles, if he doesn't mind)
Our Assorted Villains.
And any of the Leaders/Trainers from my setting found in my gallery!
Knock yourselves out! I hope to get lots of questions to help flesh out the knowledge that's out there for my homebrew.

A touch-up for New Years
Posted 7 years agoWell, I've created a folder for my writing in my gallery, finally. Now, I won't be sorting in all of the pictures with standalone stories, but anything that's actually a word file will be going in there? I'll also be looking into posting more of my work. I have a LOT of stuff that I may not post, but a lot of stuff that I'm considering throwing up in case anyone wants to see it. I'm assuming not, but HEY, whatever. Enjoy, if you do. Tell me what'cha think at that time.
About the Godzilla Anime Trilogy...
Posted 7 years agoYou know, this requires a little explanation. I don't know if I've ever mentioned this on here, but Godzilla is, and always has been, one of my favorite things. My formative years included a lot of old movies, and of those my favorites were always Kaiju films, and my favorite Kaiju films were the classic Godzilla movies. I don't know what it was; maybe it was the goofy suitimation, maybe it was the scale of destruction, or maybe even the bad dubs good for a laugh, but I've always adored the Godzilla movies. And with Shin Gojira, I was super pumped for a new generation of Japanese Godzilla films, to go along with the modern era of big-budget American Kaiju films. And then they announced the anime.
I was so fucking excited, you guys. An animated feature-length Godzilla film is one thing, but THREE of them? Set in the distant future, with war-mechs? Holy Shit, that sounded amazing! So much potential, so much more that can be done in animation than what could ever be accomplished with suits and wires. It had every right to be amazing.
And then Planet of the Monsters came out. And it was trash. It was boring, contrived garbage that spent almost every second of its screen time rambling and getting nowhere, with little to screen time for the headlining Monster. It focused more on establishing some bullshit, awful political drama between three races (Humans, a hairy all-male race of purist/technologist losers who are basically just the Roegadyn from Final Fantasy, and shitty fucking Space Elves) than on ANYTHING of interest. And it introduced our "hero", a whiny idiot who pretty much spends all of his time whining, failing, getting his allies killed, willfully AND accidentally betraying them, and getting knocked out across the two films so far. Nobody in the film has any chemistry, and both the dub and sub voice acting *sucks*.
The design for Godzilla is moderately interesting. Yes, it's the biggest, but it's also pretty much the ugliest and least interesting. It's Godzilla as an Ent. He's slower than ever, dumber, and lazier. He sleeps through almost the entirety of two movies. The other monsters (not Daikaiju, since none of them are big enough to qualify) are hardly present for any significant period of time. And the absolute biggest sin, to me, is the use of god-awful J-Pop in place of ANY of the classic Godzilla music. Not once does the classic March of Monsters/Godzilla's March appear in two of the three films. This is inexcusable. Period.
I will say that the second of the three films has more action; I'd put it at about a 4-5 out of 10, with the first film being a solid 1. I'm going to stick it out and watch the third one when it hits in January, just because I'm not a goddamn quitter. But this has really soured me entirely on the concept of animated Godzilla ever being worth a damn. This was put into the hands of idiots who don't understand how to make something worthwhile with Godzilla. I've already seen what King Ghidorah is going to look like in the third film, and I have hopes that the action will make up for the amazingly unlikable cast, the rote Sci-Fi/faux fantasy tropes and the incredibly shoddy animation throughout. If it were a real Anime and not the hideous pseudo-CGI they went for, it would have at least LOOKED better. As it stands, everything about it is just solidly unfortunate.
This may seem like a lot of petty bitching, and it probably is, but it just kills me to see something I love as much as Godzilla get handled so badly. At least I have King of the Monsters to look forward to, and I can already tell it's going to be better in the first 45 minutes than the entirety of this bland trilogy. I know there are going to be fans of the anime, but I just can't get behind it. I'm going to watch something better than that to cheer myself up. Like the Legendary King Kong, or Pacific Rim.

Unrelated to holidays, but related to my writing concepts.
Posted 7 years agoSo I'm still in the middle of this bloody brutal block (not intentionally alliterative, by the way), but I'm still getting ideas that crop into my head. One of the most recent ones is a point-of-view sort of deal from the perspective of a group of misfits/monsters/villains in a fantasy setting, banding together to deal with the "heroes" that harass their communities. The heroes obviously don't know they're the bad guys to someone else, and most aren't interested in learning the truth. I've got ideas for some characters and their personalities, though, and I'm wondering how a couple of them sound. Let's start with one, and see what people think:
On the Heroes/Antagonist side, we've got Prince Caldwell. Tall, male model handsome, muscular without being "buff", blonde and blue eyed. He's the epitome of "Fantasy Protagonist", a seemingly selfless heroic figure whose one major flaw is a blindspot for the fact that monsters are people, too. Indoctrinated by his family and kingdom young, he believes that all monstrous races are to be eliminated due to the "threat" they pose to humans, Elves, and other allied races. He's a Spellsword, a master of both fire and lightning magics, and is most easily recognized on the field of battle by the Greatsword he wields, as well as his plate armor decorated with a golden rose motif. He's beloved by his people, and an all around nice guy...Unless you're one of those "lesser" races that cause trouble. Of the Heroes/Antagonists, he's the one most likely to actually realize that what he's doing is wrong and have a change of heart. Unlike several of the others I have in mind, he's genuinely unaware of the consequences of his actions, and the King (as well as the Church) act to keep it that way. He's a pretty face to parade in front of the public, and a weapon to keep races like Goblins, Trolls and Orc down, as well as suppressing Witches and other undesirable humans.
On the Villains/Protagonist side, we've got Wixette, a Clockwork Goblin. About three feet tall, bottom heavy and ostensibly feminine in design and personality, Wixette is a small, brass-constructed entity with the general appearance of a Goblinoid. Pointed ears, a long nose, large expressive eyes and sharp fangs are all standard signs of a Goblin heritage, but in this case the being was crafted, not born. Built by a Tinkerer and Artificer known to the general population of the kingdom as Mad Mortimer, Wixette was one of hundreds of clockwork creations made by her "father" to fill a void left in his life by the untimely death of his twin daughters. He imbued each of his creations with a little piece of her spirit, granting them life and self awareness. Unfortunately, Wixette was still in an unfinished state (missing her left arm) when a band of so-called "Heroes" broke into the lonely mountain tower Mortimer called home. False stories had been spread of mechanical monsters wreaking havoc, when in truth they had simply been gardening, tending the tower and helping Mortimer with his daily chores. Jealous mages and artificers spread lies, and for that he was condemned. Wixette was trapped in the collapsed beams of her father's inner sanctum, forced to watch helplessly as the man who had given her life was murdered by a group of self-aggrandizing "adventurers". Her mechanical siblings were likewise destroyed, leaving her all alone. It took days for her to dig her way out, given both her small size and her single functioning arm, but when she did get free she set about the task of burying her creator and salvaging what she could. Taking the most useful parts from her destroyed kin, the now one-of-a-kind little being set out into the world. Not just for revenge, but to find out where she really belongs. At some point she hooks up with the rest of the Villains/Protagonists and acts as the party healer/ranged support via use of gadgets. She's friendly, personable and cheerful, but a bit slow on the uptake and naive. She's also cute as a bug.
So, hey. There's some word vomit. More ideas in my head, but there y'go. Probably stupid, but what isn't, eh?
