I did it, I left Twitter
Posted 5 years agoIt took multiple attempts to get my brain to agree to ditch Twitter
Today I weighed the pros and cons of staying on the site, and decided the pros are just not worth it
It's too much weight on my psyche, it's too much anxiety, it's too much shit I don't want to hear about
I've taken steps over the past 8 years to remove things from my life like politics, racism, sexism, bad news, existential shit, societal collapse, all that fucking garbage that I want nothing to do with
And Twitter just makes it literally impossible to filter it all out
I have spent the last 2 years on Twitter because of Tumblr's porn ban and I've never been more depressed in my life than I have become because of it
It's the worst website for artists, and I even wrote an entire blog post explaining why on Tumblr
So, today, I used TweetDeck to remove my Timeline from Twitter, making it only show Mentions, DMs and my own blog now.
I'm completely out of it for anything other than posting art. I refuse to ever let myself be part of that shit ever again.
So, I'm back, FA.

Moving Back to Ohio

Create-a-Kynk How-To-Commission Sheet!

So recently I uploaded my open species Kynk stuff!
This pic right here, which explains what Kynks are
And these example pics: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
(ALL NSFW)
And there's ALSO a type of Kynk known as "Neon City Kynks" which are commonly born small, skinny, missing limbs (which are replaced by cybernetics, usually), and almost always have animal-like faces
Examples of my Neon City Kynk, Shilly, right here, here and here!
A few people have been a little confused about how to get their own!
So first off, I encourage you to join my Discord server, that's where you're gonna get the best information on anything you need to know
Plus, it's a nice community, you'll like it there
Second, so the process is basically like this:
- You let me know what kind of Kynk you want
- I get in contact with you in a way that we can discuss the character, write their lore, etc
- I go "Okay, I'm gonna go start working on it" and you pay and I go draw it
Kynks are 35 bucks as of writing this journal, and that price will increase by 5 bucks until it reaches 55 over time.
Simply because each one is a lot of work, and I want people who get in on the train early to get a discount.
"But Jay, are we welcome to just make our own if we can draw?"
Of course you can! This person, here, did!
They are an entirely open species, you are welcome to simply design your own. :)
My "Create-a-Kynk" modelsheets are just a simple poorly constructed sketchy modelsheet I make for you. :)
"Can we get a modelsheet that's higher quality?"
For now, not from me, I'm still clearing my commission backlog and working on these on the side to pay my bills, so I can't currently set aside the time to fully render these out.
They'll remain colored sketches for a bit.

It's been a while
I've been over on Tumblr, making pony art and such for soooooooo damn long
And I really do miss my roots over here
I have to say, the furry fandom really meant a lot to me and shaped me into a much more kind and polite and caring and generous person because of how they all acted around me
I started my artistic career over here, with generous commissioners and such helping me realize that I could potentially have a future as a furry artist
So I wanna come back, I wanna start being active here again and return to the world of the murry purry fresh n furry
So expect me making a grand comeback real soon
It's gonna happen

Posted 13 years agoSo I got a beta-key for Planetside 2 (thank you, Avid Brony), and I'm gonna give it a try.
Might stream it or summat.
We'll see!
In other news, I got some artists to gather up. I've looked over the money I've made in the last 3 months.
My 900$ debt has been reduced to 855$.
My monthly 300$ rent has been paid for the last 3 months.
My mother's negative 300$ a month has been zeroed out by my 300$ rent each month for 3 months.
In other words, in 3 months I've made a whopping 45$ profit.
Now I'm not complaining much, that's 45$ more than I had, and I haven't gone asking for donations like I usually do in times of financial crisis.
This time, I've got a plan.
I'm gonna get a bunch of my fellow artists together who are willing to help, and do a donation drive with picture rewards from them and myself for donations.
Maybe we can get some hand-made memorabilia made as well. Scarves or summat.
We'll see.
One way or another, I gotta get my debts paid off. Hopefully a multi-artist art-drive will work.
WE SHALL SEE!

After a year on Tumblr, having my account banned twice (today being the second time) for shit I didn't do, I've decided to start posting on FA again.
Because at least on FA, if you post a single against-the-rules picture, the admins will just take it down, instead of DELETING YOUR ENTIRE ACCOUNT WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND GIVING YOU NO HOPE FOR AN APPEAL.
I always liked the FA admins for that reason.
Tumblr got me a hefty amount of standing in the Brony fandom, thanks to Lil Miss Rarity, and I'm not outright abandoning Tumblr, I'm just posting my art on FA from now on, instead of Tumblr.
Tumblr -did- have a very nice system with reblogging, which helps gain lots of popularity and recognition, but it's kind of pointless when one person with a proxy can anonymously report your blog 100 times because they hate you for no reason, and get your account automatically deleted on-the-spot, thus making you lose every single one of your followers.
If people are wondering what happened to Lil-Miss-Jaye, it got deleted. My new blog, Little-Miss-Jaye, is where you should go if you wanna re-follow me.
