Now I Shall Reveal To You The Worst Kept Secret In The Wo...
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone! ^^
I'll try to keep this relatively brief because this is probably not news to most people who follow me anymore. However I cannot resist just a little bit of suspense behind a reveal, because I'm such a tease. ;3
So I guess it's finally time huh? Time to reveal the Worst Kept Secret In The World... or at least the biggest secret regarding me personally which most people in my life already know about...
The "secret" I never said out loud but left a thousand little hints all over the place... that which I've been struggling to say here for the last 3 years (both due to fear of being wrong/hasty and inability to get around to all the uploading I wanted to do first).
I would've done it sooner, but I had to be 100% sure it felt right. I needed to talk to a therapist and get their thoughts first. I needed time to experiment, to soul search, to ask all the questions until I was absolutely positive I wasn't making a huge mistake...
Well my friend, time has passed. Questions have been answered. My soul has been thoroughly searched... and I'm finally sure. My heart has shown me beyond a doubt who I really, truly am...
I am Jayni Rose, aka
jaynitigerpaw - My pronouns are she/her, and...
I AM TRANS.
It's been a long road to get here, but I've never been happier with who I am. :)
A million thanks to all my friends who have been supporting me on this whole journey. From the first wide-eyed questioning stages to the start of my transition and up to now. I couldn't have done it without you... especially my wife
katalina who has been essential to me pursuing my true self and not giving up. All of your support and validation means the world to me! ^^
Alright so... Now that the cat's outta the bag, what's next?
Good question! I will be making
jaynitigerpaw my primary fursona account for art and news, and my Patreon will be switching over too. This account here will be used still but less frequently, and usually just for certain content (like JT related stuff, older pieces like commissions and lots of old unseen fursuit videos... plus a few new ones!)
I still have a lot of stuff planned. Here's hoping I get around to doing it all. And also, here's hoping you'll still want to join me to see what I come up with. :)
Thanks for all the love over the years. Once more, please go +watch
jaynitigerpaw my new primary account to continue following me and my art moving forward. :)
The past was fun, but I can't wait to see what the future holds.
Love

If this journal seems out of the blue to you and you have no idea what's going on, the gist is someone made a profile on FurAffinity specifically to bash me in a journal where they claim they have proof of me and Kat "living it up" and then scamming people because we can't pay rent (once).
That account was created 2.5 hours before the journal about me was made. It has no watches/follows/comments, 12 views (last I checked, probably 5 were me) and only 1 journal, which was the one calling me a "scammer".
At first I thought someone random had seen my 'Please help' journal and tweets and posted to an actual "Furries Beware" page or something. But they didn't. They posted it to their brand new account with no followers and DM'd some of my friends and fans telling them not to give us money, that we were "living it up" and that we were "NOT poor" (which when I heard this I lol'd, literally. How much money does he think we're pulling in from this "scam", like thousands per month?! XD).
I'm not sure what he's trying to accomplish, but he's gone over the line with this one. Not only are all the tweets taken out of context, plucked from time and situation and stuck in a vacuum where assumptions can be drawn and applied, he misses a few HUGE elements to the story (like skimming over the part where my drum set was a gift). And most of it is stuff I spent my own money on. O__o
Aside from that, he seems to forget that my income fluctuates and is unpredictable (tips are not steady, and neither are my hours lately) and that there's this thing called "Unexpected Expenses" (like sudden car repairs). Also apparently poor people should never treat themselves or do anything fun ever because they might be in a bind in a month for some other unrelated reason and "you shouldn't have bought that shirt last month or we wouldn't be in this mess, dag nabbit!"
Anyways, in a nutshell... no, I'm not a scammer. If I am, I'm really bad at it, because yes we are still poor and yes we had some unexpected bad luck and a loss of one part time job, all of which accumulated and coincided with the bulk of my bills being due at the end of the month. Shit happens. It doesn't mean I'm scamming people, and that's a shitty thing to accuse me of.
Besides, out of everything he documented over the last 6 months (I won't link the journal because for one it'll probably be gone and two, it doesn't deserve your attention) I never asked for money! I only asked for money a few days ago as a last resort, but every other time I got money (whether it was for the drum set or to help me pay my car payment that one time) that was a result of friends doing genuinely nice things for me that I didn't expect. That's quite a big difference from "scamming" someone.
This is the third time someone has made a brand new account here just to troll me. It happened twice last year, and now I'm pretty sure they are all by the same guy. I also am pretty sure I know who this guy is.
Ok, now that you've been filled in, it's time for me to respond to the points the guy made in his journal. I'd reply on his actual journal, but that will soon be gone and he disabled comments anyways. It might read confusing to some, but he'll know what I'm talking about (as will those of you who received a message from this person).

5/26 Wow I went to a show with my own money. And?
6/22 CONTEXT: Navient payment schedule online was misleading and they withdrew $214 I didn't have. #Unexpected
6/22 Because bad luck always comes at the worst possible times. Murphy's Law
7/5 Went to AC because friends wanted us to and let us stay with them and pay them back later. Paid for my part of gas with my own damn money.
7/23 Drum set was an unexpected GIFT from a very generous friend.
7/23 Overdraft almost caused by Paypal/bank account mixup but it didn't. Why even mention this?
7/23 Spent $80 to complete my drum set with my own money because I had a show coming up and I didn't want to ask my friend for help.
7/28 Splurged a little to take my wife to see her childhood idol for her fucking birthday. Sue me. (purchased 3 weeks earlier when I had the money)
7/31 I was just venting about my situation and a friend decided to help me. I didn't ask or expect anyone to help.
8/7 Went to a show with my own money.
8/7 Bought a shirt with my own money.
8/11 Spent $20 of my own money at a thrift store for a Western themed birthday party for my Mom...
8/18 This was the same drum stuff I ordered earlier, just now arriving
8/23 Bought with my own money.
9/17 Went to a show with my own money. It was $13 and local.
9/26 Went to a show with my own money.
9/27 A friend got this ticket for me in exchange for a commission.
9/27 Bought $15 of merch. Wow.
10/6 Went to a furry event that the founder (and our friend) invited me to personally and he paid for our cabin. Kat and I split gas with our own money.
10/8 My. Own. Money.
10/8 I had the money and could afford this at the time because (see below)
10/9 I didn't expect to have to pay $400 on brakes suddenly when the guy told me before we left that I could go at least another month or two. Unexpected expense at a bad time causes a domino effect. I also had to get tires too.
10/26 Ok? Also not my fault?
10/26 And here we are at my latest journal, a sincere plea for financial relief because some things added up at a bad time. Oh if only I didn't spend MY OWN MONEY THAT I EARNED WHILE PAYING MY BILLS before these unforeseen events occurred...
Dude, What The Fuck?! What exactly are you prosecuting me for here?! Spending my own money on things I like? I can't predict when a bill I thought I postponed comes through anyways, or my car needs 3 new tires and new brakes around the time of an event I had been planning for MONTHS. Cut me some fucking slack.
That drum kit was a GIFT! ALL OF IT! The first part was bought in Feb by Kat and her boss at the time. As a GIFT. My well-off friend decided to surprise me with money specifically for the second half of the drum set because he wanted to see what I could do with it. AS A GIFT. Then I bought a few things for the kit myself because I had to and I didn't want to ask that friend again, even though he probably would have bought that for me too.
My other friend helped me with a car payment ONCE when some shit added up, even though I didn't ask him to. And now the latest bit, which is the only real legitimate time I've asked for money this ENTIRE YEAR! All the other times I really needed money I refused to ask until it got extremely dire. I even turned down money from somebody (you?) when I had gotten the help I needed already. I'm aware I could have still taken the money. I didn't. I'm not like that.
I'm at least 80% sure I know who this is. But I'm not going to ever reveal that information just in case I'm wrong. However, if it is who I think it is, the passive-aggressive antics need to fucking stop. I already explained myself over the phone and you did too. I understood where you were coming from, and I'm sorry for how things happened (if this is who I think it is).
But this is just dumb. You have no proof of anything you claim other than a log of my spending habits that I've chosen to make public and again unless it was a gift, IT WAS MY OWN GODDAMN MONEY. NO ONE ELSE'S. MINE. Maybe Kat helped. But other than the few specific instances I mentioned where people chose to help me, it was my own money.
Basically what I'm saying is, don't fucking do this again. You think you're being clever with the other accounts you've made to troll me, but this shit is getting old. I'm going to finish your fucking art so I can stop feeling guilty for you ever helping me, which I actually still appreciate to this day because I really needed it then but whatever. Then I'm just going to leave you alone and hope you do the same to me.
So yeah, way to go. I enjoyed reading the documentary of a poor person's struggles to enjoy life as best he can while also struggling with bills and random misfortunes that crop up. Also I think I've seen that story before. It's called A Shitton Of People Live Like This Because Life Is Fucking Hard.
I am trying to better my situation. Maybe I can try harder. And shit, I'm sure I can point you to countless other times I've done something like bought a fucking Subway sandwich when I should've been saving exclusively for rent or some other bill (which if I did this for every bill I had coming up I'd never eat).
But this shit where you stalk me and then micromanage my spending habits and call me a fucking "scammer" is creepy, over-the-top and fucking disgusting. I deserve to live my life as best I can without being fucking shamed for it. That's my business, NOT yours. And when friends decide to help me it's because they're good friends and they've made that choice. I didn't scam them. If you feel I've scammed you, then I'm sorry but it is never ever my intent to do that and it never will be.
Finally, fuck you for making me waste all this damn time dealing with your stupid bullshit you wanker. I hope you enjoy your art.

Extreme Financial Crisis..... Please help
Posted 7 years agoKat and I are going through a very tough time right now...
One of my steady flows of income has ended (the guy I drive to and from work got another job in another state) and as such I'm basically in between jobs on that front. Today I was supposed to drive him to the airport and he was going to give me $100, but that fell through due to a perfect shitstorm of bad luck.
Unfortunately, I barely have time to react because all my bills are already behind. We only made enough to stay afloat, and every time something happens like a car repair ($400 about 2 weeks ago) we fall a bit further behind. Currently, I'm behind on rent, car, and electric and those things have joined together into a massive mountain of debt that is all due between 10/31 and 11/6.
I need $300 for rent by 10/31, $157 for electric by then as well, and $450 by 11/6. Missing any of these will have severe repercussions, such as eviction, power shutting off, and/or car repossession. With our current cashflow there is no way for us to get all three, and I'm now in panic mode.
PLEASE if anyone can help in any way, it would mean so much to us... This is a bump in the road, but the bills are coming at us faster than we can do anything about it. I'm looking for jobs, but that won't help us until at least a couple weeks from now when I get a check. And we are pretty desperate.
We need to raise $900 in the next 4-6 days. A little less than that actually, since I do have my pizza delivery job, but seriously that won't help much in that timeframe.
My paypal is jtigerclaw@gmail.com .... I can take commissions (link in header, footer and on my profile), and I will be making giftart for anyone who donates.
Please, if we can weather this storm and hold off these incessant bills until I can find more work and get some cash flowing in, I think we'll be ok and we'll start to catch up. But we've been holding our head barely above water so long this could finally drown us unless we get help.
Again, anything will help. I don't know what else I can say or add.
Thank you.

Off to WWFC!!!
Posted 7 years agoI should've already been heading to WWFC by now, but I had to finish this video because it's basically about WWFC and uploading it right after the camp would be kinda pointless.
How am I going to drive 8 hours on no sleep, then enjoy being at camp? Idk, I just hope I make it there in one piece.
Anyways, please watch this video I slaved over. Depending on the response, there could be more fursuit videos to come. Lord knows I've got tons of ideas and footage already, just need the time to put it all together. ;)
Aaaaand off to Ohio! See you guys in a few days! ^^

Standard Commission Info
Posted 7 years agoSince I noticed the last journal I listed my commission prices on was an old rant about work, this journal was made to list my prices on commissions and that's pretty much it.
This journal will probably be linked to for a while regarding my prices, so no, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm open for commissions. But if I am open for commissions, well, that's probably why you're here. ;)
Feel free to discuss your idea with me if it varies from what's listed here.
NSFW/Adult work is extra. How much extra varies. Maybe $5 extra for sketch, $30 extra for full render. More than one character, same applies, as well as extra character costs. Some things may be custom price or case by case. Ask me if you have any questions!
Sketch: $15 (waist up), $20 (full body) - Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Ink: $20 (waist up), $30 (full body) - Example 1, Example 2
Flat Color: $30 (waist up), $40 (full body) + basic background (more complex, ask) - Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Cell Shade: $40 (waist up), $55 (full body) + basic background (more complex, ask) - Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, Example 4
Fully Rendered: $50 (waist up), $70 (full body) + basic background, (more complex, ask) Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Colored Headshot Icons (w/ shading) $20 - Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Animated Flail Icon: $20 static, $30 animated Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Rectangular Badges $30 - Example 1, Example 2
Shaped Badges $40 - (waist up shot with name)
Full Body Badges $55 (full body, shaped badge with name)
Yearbook Photo: $30 (Example 1, Example 2... color and b/w. Some props extra)
Paypal is jtigerclaw@gmail.com.
I don't usually go by deadlines (as I usually miss them) but I can accommodate certain deadlines if needed. Just let me know if you need something by a certain date for a specific reason (birthday, etc) and I'll see what I can do. :)

NEW FURRY EVENT IN OCTOBER - WORLD WILD FUR CAMP!
Posted 7 years agoHey all! ^^
katalina and I will be going to a brand new furry event on Oct 5 in Hamilton, OH! But it's not a convention... it's a CAMP!
It's called WORLD WILD FUR CAMP!
It's a first year event started by our friend The Dogfather Al Cabone (seen in this video with Kat in his old fursuit), hosted by the friendly neighborhood YMCA. There's gonna be fun outdoorsy activities like hiking, fishing, campfires, rock-climbing, archery, camp games and much more! And it's fursuit friendly! [note: fursuits are not campfire friendly X3]
There's a 300 member attendance cap so it's meant to be more like a small, intimate furmeet, but like a summer camp! There's like 12 cabins that house a group of campers (called a "guild") although we expect there to be less than that in each cabin. Kat and I are leading one of the guilds, called Furrie Haven. So if you want to hang out with us a bunch, joining our guild is a great way to do it. ;3
Also, this is the most involved I've been in planning for a furry event in like, forever! I'm going to organize some basketball games at the YMCA court, a fursuit friendly basketball tourney, and also I'm planning a full hour long solo musical performance in fursuit! And I've only got 2 months to plan, record, and practice. Good lord... X3
It'll be similar to this (below) except I'll be playing ALL the instruments (and you'll be able to hear me sing, hopefully).
That means that I'll have no choice but to jump into this and start playing music... and MAKING VIDEOS! So my New Fursuit Music YouTube Channel that has no videos right now? Yeah, that's going to have videos somewhat soon, and hopefully plenty of them. ;3
But back to World Wild Fur Camp. Because it's a camp and not a con, it's just $115 for the entire thing! That includes registration, lodging, 3 meals a day in the cafeteria (yes you can go off the campsite and eat or get drinks if that's what you want to do... although note that alcohol is not allowed on site at camp). It's really just like a furry summer camp! ^^
So if that sounds interesting to you, hurry and register! There's only 2 months to go!
Yes it'll be small, yes it's the first year (so expect a couple bumps) but the main goal is to create a fun and friendly furry camp atmosphere and to enjoy activities with new friends. I think it'll be a blast, and I hope to see a couple of you there. ^^

1st Con In Over 3 Years! ANTHROCON 2018! (Also HI I'm alive)
Posted 7 years ago*dusts off FA*
Oh wow, so much dust... have I really been gone that long? O,o
It's been... well, 4 months. But that was just one streaming journal in March, so really it's been a lot longer. Sorry about that.
It had been a lot longer than 4 months since I've been to a furry convention too. 3 years and about 4 months. Life just got complicated for a bit and I didn't have the time or motivation... well, I had the motivation, just not the time or energy to focus on accomplishing things in tiny allotted increments of time in between the cracks of my schedule. So as a result, I mostly fell off the furry map (although I've been slowly working in the background).
If you guys are still here, thanks for sticking with me. I don't have the free time like I used to and so many other things going on in life, but I'll always try to keep making things that make myself and others (namely my commissioners) happy. ;)
Anyways, about my con... ANTHROCON 2018!
It had been a full 4 years since I'd been to AC, and even though money was super tight as always, me and Kat managed to get there with
thediversezabuza and
goddess_of_the_dead as road trip buddies! Yes, for once I didn't have to drive and could sleep in the back! Which I needed because of course I closed at work the night before and packed through the night, that being the only time available to do it. X3
We left early Thursday (as early as possible) and got there right on time to check in at the Double Tree. The walk to the convention wasn't too bad, but when you had to make multiple trips back and forth from the main hotel, it can get a little tiresome. Also was a little concerned about walking around at 4am in costume, but ultimately nothing bad happened. ^^
The con itself was really a blur. A slow blur, if that makes sense. Or since it doesn't, I mean the 2.5 days we were there flew by in a heartbeat, even though I was doing everything super slow, especially when you consider most of my time was spent either trying to get to/from hotel, trying to find food, getting dressed/suited, and just in between down time.
I completely ignored any and all panels, concerts, fursuit games and even the parade, even though I wanted to do all that stuff. It just didn't mesh with my f'ed up sleep schedule (I stayed up til 8am Friday doing nothing in particular. Well, I did get to dress up and hang out in the lobby as
jaynitigerpaw (who by the way, has a slightly different account of things that happened at the con. ;3)) Then I crashed until nearly 7pm, because OMG TIME FOR SLEEPING. X,x
I didn't do too much, all in all. But I did get to see a good many people I wanted to see (missed a few others) and had a few simple, but memorable moments. Dinner with
katalina. Riverside chats with
toraie and Kitt. Running into
clemfox and
aisufox then going to the rave. Strolling through dealer's den in suit and seeing
gideon. And trying out a new experience as
jaynitigerpaw.
There was so much more I could have done, but nobody ever gets to do everything on their list at AC. Also, we had to leave early Sunday or there may have been time to do more, but plenty of relaxing and fun was had still, even though I only fursuited once. And it's been 4 years since I've been to AC, so at this point I'll take whatever I can get. ^^
So yes, I'm alive. I'm well, or well enough. Plenty of stuff going on, but trying to remain connected to the furry fandom. I've still got plenty of projects up my sleeve (and commissions to complete) and I'll be working on those. Slowly, of course, but they will get done.
Also, I will be performing a musical act for the first time solo at World Wild Fur Camp (if I can put it all together in the next 2.5 months). August and September will be a frantic race to get that show set up and prepared, so I'm definitely going to be active in some ways. It will mean more videos for my new YouTube channel that hasn't officially launched yet but will do so in the near future (more on that later). Will likely upload clips and recordings to Patreon as I go along as well. ;3
After WWFC, I dunno what's next. Hopefully I can get to more cons in the future, though my money situation will have to change for that to happen (working on it). And perhaps Kat and I can go as vendors and try to pay our way that way. FWA could be possible if we do it like that, as well as the con in Raleigh 2.5 hours away, Anthro Crossroads. Plus it would get us dedicating more time to creating cool stuff for you guys (to buy).
It's a thought at least. ^^
(Remember, if you want a different look at my weekend through the eyes of
jaynitigerpaw, follow her and read about her Anthrocon Experience. If you're interested.)
I'll try to be more active here! Lots of stuff planned so I think I will. ^^
Anyways, see you guys later!

Monthly VIP Stream (a day late)
Posted 7 years agoIt's that time of month again! The time when I work on the $25 Patron VIP Stream commission!
I've been super busy lately (14 days of work in a row X,x) so these streams have been practically all I've had time for lately.
Nevertheless, I persist! Streaming tonight for a bit. Come have a look see! ^__^

Done. Thanks for all who showed!

First stream (and journal) of the season!
Posted 8 years agoShit, I'm late aren't I? D:
3 weeks late you say? Hmm... yeah, sounds like me.
Well anyway, uh... Happy New Year! :3
Yeah I meant to write a New Year journal earlier, but you know how it is. Work, life, procrastination... the usual. New Years isn't gonna change that unfortunately, as the track record has proven.
Yes it is a new year, and like every year, I have goals. And 2017, well... like every year, I didn't meet my goals. :< But at least I always try to strive for excellence, as even falling far short is still better than not trying, right?
So I read last year's New Year's journal, and of course I had to laugh at how insanely optimistic I was in my ability to produce artwork at a reasonable pace. That didn't happen, truth be told. I did have a detailed plan laid out, but I really need to work on my execution of said plan. And that all amounts to self-discipline, which mine is pretty awful tbh.
Nevertheless, I did complete 18 of my Productivity Revolution projects, a few side projects that didn't count (YouTube banner, JT logos etc), and I did some sketches that will become completed works later. So I wasn't completely unproductive.
I kept my Patreon going for a full year, averaging around 5-8 patrons a month. I created a new YouTube channel (shhh... it's a secret), and I helped Kat with a few videos of us as well! ^^
Yes 2017 could have been a lot more productive. But it was an ok year (aside from politics but we won't get into that). I worked a lot and did routine home stuff. Not too much for excitement (the trip to the cabin for our second honeymoon was nice) but overall it wasn't horrible personally.
Now as far as 2018 is concerned...
I made it to space 18 on my Productivity Revolution gameboard in its first year, so I want to ratchet up the pressure a bit and try to hit 60 by the end of this year (a total of 42 completed projects). Ideally I'd like to complete a new project/commission every week, but I'm gonna have another job soon and this is still me we're talking about so uh... yeah, let's keep this attainable.
I'd like to focus on commissions this year (boy that sounds familiar) because the sooner I get those done, the sooner I can put more focus and energy on other stuff. Of course I'll work on other stuff as well, like setting up YouTube, playing music, making videos and maybe even some comics. And I gotta keep up with Patreon rewards and such. I have some new calendars and spreadsheets to hopefully help me keep on track. Maybe one day I'll be able to actually stick to the schedules I write. Hopefully this year.
All in all, as long as I make a stronger effort to be productive and reach my goal (#RoadTo60 #PRODREV2018) I'll be happy from that standpoint. ^^
And on that note...
If you wanna watch me draw some stuff tonight, I'm streaming over on Tigerdile! Like the title says, first stream of the year! ^^ (it's the Patreon VIP stream, so working on my $25 patron's commissions).
Come join me for a bit if you'd like. :3

Home Sweet Cabin!
Posted 8 years agoHello all. ^^
Been a crazy few weeks, but it's all been worth it. Despite all the obstacles and uncertainty,
katalina and I are sitting in our favorite Honeymoon Cabin in celebration of our 1 year Anniversary!
We've really enjoyed our time here. The view is amazing as always. The leaves are so many different colors and so beautiful. The hot tub is mmmmmmmm.... And while there's been plenty of relaxation and unwinding, we've even had time to do some fursuit video shooting (despite technical difficulties) and I've got some art to work on for fun, getting back into the flow and rediscovering why I enjoy drawing. I played banjo on the deck overlooking the woods too. Felt like a true southerner. ;3
Tomorrow we return to a stressful reality of money woes, car repairs and both trying to find new jobs (me an additional job, Kat because her workplace is f'ing her over). But for tonight, we dance...er... relax. And enjoy a much needed break from the world. ^^
My commission obligations return to normal when I return, and I will be streaming soon after I'm back.
I also have some stuff to upload soon. Sorry for neglecting you all. Love you guys! <3

ART! Raising Money For Anniversary Trip in 2 weeks!
Posted 8 years agoActually more like 12 days! O,o
So yeah, my sneppy wife
katalina of 1 year as of 10/15 (Happy Anniversary Sweetie! ^^) are planning on making a return to the wonderful cabin in the woods where we celebrated our wedding with an amazing, relaxing honeymoon! ^^
We booked the cabin again as soon as we could this year and have been looking forward to it since the day we left. Life (car) has made things difficult lately, and while my calculations tell me we should have enough, that includes a lot of estimating and I actually have less hours this week than I'd planned on. Sooo...
I'm holding a small livestream art fundraiser on my two days off, Tuesday and Wednesday Oct 24-25!
I'll start with a previous commission, then segway into taking commissions live (with the intention of doing them semi-quickly on the spot). If I can get even $100 it will help give us a bit of a safety net in case we come up short. Or let us go to the cabin AND have food! XD
I'm planning on streaming from around 6pm to midnight or as long as I can. And that's for both days, Tuesday and Wednesday. That's the plan anyways.
It might start a bit later (since this is me we're talking about) but I will stream for at least a few hours the next two days. So if you've wanted to grab a commission but didn't really want to wait ages, now is your chance to get something a little faster! And it's for a good cause! ;3
Stay tuned for a streaming announcement here when I start. It'll be on Tigerdile of course. ;)

Posted 8 years agoOne More Emergency Commissions Journal... Need To Pay Rent.
Posted 8 years agoI really didn't see myself being unemployed for this long, but...
I am.
There are a few different reasons I guess. Some of them are valid and out of my control, while some I feel I could have avoided if I went about things differently. But I didn't, and here I am.
I shouldn't say I'm "unemployed", because I do have a part time gig (other than commissions) that I make about $200 a week on, plus I got a random personal run from an old cab customer that paid me $140. That helped pay some bills like phone, power, student loan (ugh... had no choice). But once the end of the month came around, it wasn't enough.
I still have a "main job" I'm shooting for, a full time job that would have solved this problem. And it's that job that I was hoping I'd be closer to having by now. I put off getting another random crappy part time job in part because I had my sights set on that one job in particular and I didn't want to have to get a brand new job I was just going to quit in 2 weeks. But unfortunately, things kept getting in the way of my goal.
Basically, I put all my eggs in one basket and stayed dormant too long, and now I'm in a bind. That was my mistake. But it's too late to change that.
I do have a part-time job lined up, which I should have as soon as Tuesday. I may also go for another part-time job to go with it, which would make 3 total (which will put a damper on my art time, but gotta sacrifice something). But that isn't going to help me much right away. :(
Now I have rent to pay, and while I had believed I was going to get some help from a friend on that regard, I didn't. Guess I assume too much.
So I'm putting it out there one more time, I'm open for "emergency commissions."
Once again, here are my prices. Feel free to discuss your idea with me if it varies from what's listed here.
NSFW/Adult work is extra. How much extra varies. Maybe $5 extra for sketch, $20 extra for full render. More than one character, same applies, as well as extra character costs (around half of the cost for 1 char for each additional). Some things may be custom price or case by case. Ask me if you have any questions!
Sketch: $10 (waist up), $15 (full body) - Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Ink: $20 (waist up), $25 (full body) - Example 1, Example 2
Flat Color: $30 (waist up), $35 (full body) +$5 basic background (more complex, ask) - Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Cell Shade: $40 (waist up), $45 (full body) +$5 basic background (more complex, ask) - Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, Example 4
Fully Rendered: $50 (waist up), $60 (full body) +$10 basic background, (more complex, ask) Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Colored Headshot Icons (w/ shading) $15 - Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Animated Flail Icon: $15 static, $20 animated Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Rectangular Badges $25 - Example 1, Example 2
Shaped Badges $35 - (waist up shot with name)
Full Body Badges $45 (full body, shaped badge with name)
Yearbook Photo: $25 (Example 1, Example 2... color and b/w. Some props extra)
And of course you can always support me on Patreon (which I'm happy to say I've gotten a couple more patrons recently!) However, that still won't pay out until next month, and I need help right now.
I have been making progress on commissions, if you've noticed. I'm not the fastest, but I've been putting work in. So to those who commissioned me a month ago (THANK YOU!), and even earlier than that (again, THANK YOU), your commission WILL get done. Just the fact I'm getting more support on Patreon means I can't put those off. I've even updated my Productivity Revolution board.
I'm getting there. I'm just slow.
Once I get my job situation ironed out and money becomes less of a problem (I can dream...) I won't be taking commissions for a while.
But for right now, I need all the help I can get.
So please, if you would like to help, I'd appreciate it. I just need to get past this one last big hump, and then hopefully I'll be ok.
Note me if you're interested in a commission, or you can donate through PayPal to jtigerclaw[at]gmail.com (though I'm gonna want to do something nice for you anyway).
Thanks everyone for your support and your positive thoughts.

Emergency Commissions... Lost My Job. :(
Posted 8 years agoAh, well this bites.
I was informed by text that I've been fired from my job delivering pizzas.
The reason? I was "caught on camera" taking a paper cup. :/
[small work rant]
Yes, so we're allowed unlimited fountain sodas but touch a paper cup and you're GONE, you dirty cup touching sicko. How will the company ever withstand the 3 cent hit to its bottom line?! Oh wait, I was also written up for not putting a trash bag in a can in October. Oh the humanity! You know how much of an inconvenience it was to put that bag in AND fill out all this disciplinary paperwork, you delinquent scumsucker? Next thing you know you'll be shitting on customers' food and pissing in every paper cup individually! But you know, they're right. The company has "standards" I guess. That and I'm completely expendable and worth less than a goddamn paper cup but it's ok...
[/small work rant]
Anyways, I'm trying not to freak out too much because it's just a pizza job that I wasn't getting enough hours at anyways. I suppose I could walk into another pizza place tomorrow and get another pizza delivery job. But I was already needing another job badly due to lack of hours. Now I either need 2 part time jobs or 1 really good full time job, but due to the unyielding weight of bills always pressing down on me, time is not a luxury I have. Nor is money unfortunately. :(
So I'm going to open up for some Emergency Commissions.
I know I owe people commissions already (and I'm still good for those), but I 100% promise I'll have these done as soon as possible, in the coming months. I've been grinding over on Patreon (some of the results I'll be posting here finally), so I have been active. I just will have to prioritize my time better. Once things fall into place, with steady effort I think I can do just that.
So I'd like to take a few commissions. Pretty much everything is on the table and I will take as many as I can get.
Here are base prices (note some are slightly cheaper than normal prices because circumstances)
Feel free to discuss your idea with me if it varies from what's listed here.

So yeah, if there's anything you've ever wanted me to draw for you, now would be a good time to act. Again, I will prioritize these commissions so that hopefully most of them (or all) will be done in the next few months.
I thank you all greatly, and any commissions or spreading the word would be great! I hope these funds will help pay a bill or two that I otherwise wouldn't be able to pay, or put food on the table until I get my job situation worked out (which I hope is really soon).
Also, if monthly support for extra bonus content is more your thing (and the possibility of winning FREE ART) head over to My Patreon and see if you might be interested in a small monthly donation! The new billing cycle (and new content) is approaching fast! Every little bit helps and also encourages me to create more. :)
Thanks everyone.... I'll get through this. Hopefully.

Productivity Revolution Update
Posted 8 years agoHey all!
Well, my so-called Productivity Revolution has been off to a poor start...
I've lost 2 of my 6 Patreon supporters sadly, and while I've been doing my best to keep up with posting sketches and bonus content, I haven't been able to post any real content other than a couple of videos I had stashed that I didn't need to edit.
To be honest I'm still having trouble finding time for everything, and this is even before I've gotten another job (which I'm still working on). I'm trying to maintain a balanced life with time for my wife, recreation/exercise, and a bit of fun and relaxation in addition to the time I already have to dedicate to work, sleep, eating, hygiene, errands, and other life stuff/responsibilities. But I'm realizing, as I have for a while now, that there's just not enough time for everything. I still waste too much time being idle, checking twitter/internet, doing trivial/unimportant tasks (like organizing computer files) and procrastinating like I've got all the time in the world. But I don't, and I have to learn to make some sacrifices while pushing myself a little more than is comfortable sometimes. I feel like eventually if I keep harping on it, I'll get there.
Besides, I haven't been wholly unproductive. I have recorded a few fursuit videos, I just haven't edited them. I've been spending a lot of time decorating my office (which doubles as set design for my videos) and it's looking epic but is still not done yet. I've been doing behind the scenes planning and preparing to take the next step in my productivity. But a couple of hours a day isn't enough to make much of a dent, and I know I have to do more. Furthermore, I know that it's up to me to take that step and make the effort, because wanting it and doing it are two different things. I want to do more. I know what I need to do. Now I just have to do it.
The Productivity Revolution isn't dead, it's just stalled for a bit. And yes, there will always be something getting in the way of progress. But as long as I'm constantly making at least some progress and trying hard to accomplish my goals (a work in progress at the moment), I'll eventually hit my stride and you'll start seeing more content.
Now that I'm done babbling and overanalyzing my situation (another great time-wasting tool of mine) here's the actual relevant info to what I hope to accomplish next.
The Productivity Revolution board has been updated (slightly).
Projects I will be completing next:
1)Mikaylah Marley bonus art (4/4 is her birthday. ^^) DONE!
1.5)Mikaylah Marley Elkley Ad (personal art I spontaneously got inspired to do) DONE!
2)Ian Histon commission (just shading left to do, and an alternate uniform version) DONE!
3)Free Color Headshot for Bingo winner over on Patreon (DONE! - Patreon Early Viewing)
4) Hopewell Dragon logo commission (moved up the list 1 spot)
5) Kellster Kitten animated logo (moved up the list 1 spot)
6) Pitiful Writer commission (huge commission with over 50 hours put in, just shading and touch-ups left)
7) Wendy Brown backstory and story (part 2 of a 4-5 part series from last summer)
8) Finish decorating office
I also have more job searching, taxes, a date with Mom, Patreon bonus stuff, health insurance stuff, possibly taking my cat to the vet, eye exam, and shooting another video or two on the agenda, as well as trying to keep up with fitness/basketball and other various life demands.
Busy busy busy... let's get it done.

TIGER JAM DEBUT! SPECIAL SECRET PRACTICE VIDEO!
Posted 8 years agoHere, have a sudden video! (Sum41 - "The Hell Song", in preparation for IndyFurCon 2013)
https://youtu.be/IfIRdsyYgRM
Guys, I have a confession to make.
I have dozens, if not hundreds of unedited fursuit videos, just sitting on my harddrive waiting to be edited or uploaded. :(
Due to many reasons (lack of time...too many other projects and responsibilities...life) I haven't been able to edit them, polish them up, put a nice little bow on it (intro/outro/graphics) & stick them in the video buffer.
You know, the buffer of awesome videos that I never get around to making but hopefully will someday post before I'm old and grey?
I mean hell, I have fursuit basketball footage I took in 2009 I have never posted. I wore a Lebron jersey from BEFORE he left the Cavs the first time! O,o
I have a crapton of footage of Furry Punk Rock Massacre performing at IFC 2013 that I've never posted online because I've never gotten around to editing them. That's like 3.5 years they could have been getting hits while being enjoyed in their less than perfect state.
So when am I planning to release these? After I'm dead?
OR... Maybe I'll finally release these in a sort of tribute to my younger self, 20 years in the future! "Hey, here's all the cool stuff I USED TO DO when I was younger and able to! It may be 20 years late but look how cool the intro looks, EH?! Ow my body."
Yeah, forget that. :P
The idea is to make a decent sized buffer so I can release high quality material consistently, but what the hell is a video buffer for if they never get released?! D:
It may not have fancy graphics or channel marketing, but at least it's something. And it would be nice to build a little interest first...
I may release a couple more of these on my YouTube channel, but many I will hold on to for future release. However, supporting me on Patreon will get you access to them faster. ;)
After all, what good is a hard drive full of fursuit videos if people can't enjoy them?
Still-Busy-And-Overwhelmed-But-Figuring-It-Out-Slowly,

A Little Update...
Posted 8 years agoSo, as you guys can tell, things have been a little slow around here. I apologize for that. I've had a lot on my plate in terms of looking for another job and dealing with a lot of car trouble. It's really thrown my schedule (and bank account) out of whack and taken most of my free time. :(
But fear not! There is still some content happening behind the scenes! Truth is I have been jumping around a bit to a few other projects because, well, I get randomly inspired! They didn't get very far, but there's enough for a WIP pic at least (well, if you follow me on Patreon. PLUG PLUG! )
That being said, while I will continue to provide some bonus content over on Patreon each month (like sketches, WIPs, and videos like THIS ONE (consider it a free sample ^^), actual progress on projects may vary. I might have to utilize some older work or skip around my list just to put something out there. And while I'll upload some things early on Patreon, all completed work will be uploaded here eventually (like this one with Jayni I had forgotten to upload here. X3)
Just please have patience, and I will be posting more content for you guys soon. The upload rate will likely increase once things fall into place on my end, so stick around and I promise to make it worth it. :)

Patreon VS. Life... Life is winning... 3rd job time :(
Posted 9 years agoHallo peeps. Been a while, eh? ^__^
So my Patreon (<--link)has been going for a month and a half now. I still have the 6 initial supporters I had from almost the beginning, so that's cool. I don't really expect more until I start posting more stuff, although I DID post my first Patreon Bonus pack over there, including a bunch of sketches and some cool art process pics! And I have something planned for next month's bonus pack, so I'm excited about that. :)
But as far as appearing active where people can, you know, see me? Yeah, not so much... T__T
I'm expecting a little more out of myself where Patreon is concerned, because I've been a few hours away from finishing a piece since last month, and I can't seem to find the time to work on it. I haven't been completely unproductive, as I posted the Patreon bonus pack like I said, I made a video for next month, and I did some more much needed time managing (though only on paper. :P )
I have what I feel is a rock solid schedule now, which will in theory allow up to 25 hrs a week working on art while also giving me an adequate amount of "free time" so I don't feel like I'm chained to a desk all the time (which would be counterproductive, as I'd burn out or just not do it). It uses what I call "Block Scheduling" to simplify my schedule so I know exactly what I need to be doing, and therefore keeping me from getting distracted doing all of the things (and so none of the things X3). I missed the mark the yesterday and today I napped too long, but I feel the sense of determination rising. Rome wasn't built in a day, and a procrastinator with Lazy Man Syndrome can't be made to jump into a self-imposed schedule and take to it right away. It's gonna take a warrior's grit and a lot of getting used to, but I feel ready. I feel like everything is in place and I'm ready to hit the ground running with making content again.
Except there's one small problem... money. And my lack of it. :(
My main job has been cutting hours down to less than 20 a week, and so I've been falling behind. Through I didn't want to, I have to get another job to bring some more money in. That will make 3 jobs for me, not counting Patreon (which I can't count as a job, as much as I'd like to).
So that 25 hours I could in theory have just became more like 5. T__T
The only thing I can do is literally go in with every spare moment straight into my art, but my schedule will make that really hard and I will feel like it's work then. I don't want to run myself ragged, but I'm barely getting things done as it is.
Something's got to give.
As of now, I need the money more than I need to get art done. Although I will try with more urgency to work on my Patreon and The Productivity Revolution, I will have a lot less time to do it until I can catch up. Of course any pledges made to my Patreon help push me toward my goal, but when I get that job progress will be stunted most likely.
That being said, I DO have a goal of attending a con and making a trip soon, which is another reason why I need that job. My dad hasn't been doing so hot health-wise, so I want to make a trip down to Texas to see him, sometime in late March. And if possible, I'd love to hit Furry Fiesta after the visit, because if I'm going to drive a rental car (can't risk my only working vehicle) all the way to freakin' Texas, I might as well make the trip worth it.
So I might as well say that at this point, I will accept some commissions out of necessity. $50 fully shaded character (and/simple bg) $40 color character, $30 ink & $20 sketches. +$10 for additional characters.
However, please realize any commission won't be done right away, due to the schedule conflicts I just mentioned. But I will get them done. This situation is only temporary, and I swear on my grave that I will get every commission done that I have taken. And I will prioritize this batch of commissions somewhat, given the circumstances. Probably aim to finish before the end of the year, realistically speaking. Sooner if I can help it. With Patreon driving my will to make art, I feel like I will make a strong effort to work around my schedule from hell and make progress. Because dammit, I will not be deterred forever! X3
And with that, I must go to work. BUT I will ask, is anyone going to Furry Fiesta? And is there anyone with 2 spots available in their room who'd like to have me and Kat share the cost of the room? Please let me know in the comments or send a note! We need to start planning now (but it will depend on if I have enough money. I will do my damnedest to save enough by then.) If for some weird reason you'll accept art, a custom song, or some other form of payment (no sex acts, sorry DX) I'm willing to negotiate. Just hit me up! :)
Ok... *deep breath* I'll make this work.
Let's do it.

New Year, New Stream & New Things to Dream! :3
Posted 9 years agoHAPPY NEW YEAR!!! ^__^
Welcome to 2017, where ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!
Even something as absurd as, ohhh I dunno... Me streaming art on the first day of the new year. >,>
Yes, that's actually happening! (albeit way later than originally planned XD)
I'll be working on a long overdue commission, the first of a long line of many long overdue commissions and other fun projects I've had stowed back on the artistic backburner for years.
You see, my friends, another new year means a sense of a "new start". And that new start means another spark of determination to get things done. The chance to hit the ground running, so to speak, and make 2017 as productive as possible.
I've been psyching myself up for it in the form of a New Year's Resolution (which has worked so well before, but yanno, I still try). However, rather than this being a simple, fragile resolution (which is more like wishful thinking than anything that actually works), I'm thinking of this more like a Revolution.
A Productivity Revolution.
I've discovered over the last 4 years or so that life and work really get in the way of doing creative things (no duh, right?). Either I'm too busy, or I'm just too tired. For years I've continued the same cycle of futility, and my attempts at getting back on track were never strong enough to overcome my elite procrastination skills and my otherwise being uninspired (sitting in a cab with my eyeball glued to a screen wasn't the best of creative environments). When I did get inspired, I didn't have enough time, and I was just really bad about using what little time I had in a productive manner, for various reasons.
But that was then.
Now I've got a plan.
The Productivity Revolution is a plan I'm launching today, 1/1/17, to aid in keeping me motivated and productive. I'm hoping it will give me some much needed structure and a step-by-step plan which I can focus on and follow. There will be a more in depth video on it later, but in a nutshell, the Productivity Revolution plan will arrange goals and tasks like a job, and I will dedicate a certain amount of time to those goals and tasks every week... much like a job. I'll make my own hours, but I'll clock in and clock out, follow a schedule... like a job.
Basically it will be like another job, and I'm hoping a sense of responsibility and obligation will follow. The schedule I'm planning will be pretty demanding, but I will do my best to make it fun along the way so I A) don't burn out, and B) can make it as fun as possible for you guys! :3
That's why I also went ahead and created a PATREON!!! <---- ;)
So not only will I be churning out more art than I have in a LONG time, but there will be added bonuses and games for you guys! Even a pledge as low as $1 a month will get you all kinds of special access to stuff like early viewing (which, when I'm making buffers for things that won't launch for months or YEARS, that is a big thing) and a chance to play BINGO for a free full color commission!
Oh, and there will be frequent polls giving you guys the option of choosing which of my projects I work on next! (there won't be a vote every time, but they will happen a lot). All the while showing me a bit of support and urging me to continue. And I will do my very best to meet your expectations and mine. I think it stands to benefit everyone involved. ^^
Of course I will still post pretty much all my works for free online, eventually. But with the amount of stuff I have planned, literally hundreds of ideas and projects in various stages of completion, there's a lot you won't be seeing on FA or YouTube for a while. Because another goal of mine is to build up buffers for certain projects so they can update consistently when they do finally launch. Throwing $1 my way via Patreon is the best way to get access to all of that stuff as it's made and stay in the loop, so to speak. ;3
There's also more cool stuff for slightly higher donations, including WIP and sketchwork, time-lapse videos, high res images, Photoshop project files, behind the scenes videos and bloopers, rough musical demos and more!
My goal is to use Patreon to help me work through my backlog while making it fun and hopefully gaining some support along the way. Plus it will help me rebuild good habits and learn valuable techniques for when I'm ready to jump back into my career field (motion graphics, graphic design).
Or heck, maybe one day I'll be able to use Patreon to support me at least part time so I can dedicate more time to producing more content for you! ^^
I realize I have a really long way to go to make this successful, but every journey begins with a single step, so I'm trying to make this one hell of a sure step. I know I won't gain any financial support until I start showing that I can produce, so I'm going to focus on doing that.
And what better time than now? ;)
Come join me for a bit of a late night stream on Tigerdile!
https://www.tigerdile.com/stream/jtigerdraw/
It may be just for 2-3 hours, but it's at least a start. (Come on in and hang out, I'll be getting things moving shortly. Making coffee. ^^)
