Posted 10 years agoSo yes, heading off soon to celebrate around a bonfire and mark yet another turning of the Wheel of the Year in the most wonderful of ways, but before I did, wanted to wish all my lovely watchers, and the lovely friends among them, a very happy and fun Halloween, and for those that may follow or honour pagan traditions an equally wonderful Samhain and hope it's full of all kinds of special blessings for you, and the ones that we share with each other also find their way to those that have come before us and we honour tonight.
Samhain is here, cold is the earth,
as we celebrate the cycle of death and rebirth.
Tonight we speak to those through the veil,
the lines between worlds are thin and frail.
Ghosts and spirits in the night,
magical beings rising in flight,

Posted 10 years agoFinalising editing passes, tweaks and additions and delivering final versions of stories for Kristen Reid, Frysco, and Vip651, is what!
Now that I'm done with classes and workshops that have made a bit of a dent in my schedule, I'll be moving briskly along on the few outstanding commishes I have left to pull together now over the rest of this week, with the majority of them being delivered between Wed - Fri. Plus attempting to make a dent in my uploading backlog without drowning you all like last time!

EROS: A Kinky Voyage Begins - Explaining the little refs.
Posted 10 years agoFor those watching and who enjoyed the first story in my erotic space adventure series, (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18004138/) you might be wondering just what those references were I mentioned were in there. Some of them were a little old or obscure, so thought I'd run through them so you know the story behind them. Can rarely resist throwing a pop-culture ref or two into my stories when I can!
EROS - In addition to being a carefully-chosen acronym, Eros is also the name of the Greek god of love. Sadly overshadowed by his Roman equivalent, Cupid. So yeah, definitely seemed fitting for a series name!
Page 1 - Space Channel 5 - This is the name of an old Sega Dreamcast dance/rhythm game, that I thiiiiink got a re-release or sequel on the PS2.
Page 1 - Krista and Captain Emmanuelle - These two are linked references. The emanuelle I refer to here was a softcore porn series of the mid-to-late 90's and featured the still rather delicious Krista Allen.
Page 2 - Astro Chicken - Though there's a astrophysics meaning to this term, this one refers to a mini-game you could play in the old Sierra point n click series, Space Quest.
Page 3 - Ceti Alpha V - The name of the planet that the villainously charismatic Khan (or Khaaaaaaaaaan xD) was stranded on in Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan.
Page 4 - Monolith Burger - - Another Space Quest reference here, itself a ref within that game, and a intergalactic burger chain that served awful burgers in the SQ universe and was a little jibe at McDonalds.
Page 5 - Personal Expedition Assistant / PEA and its other rude acronyms - No pop-culture ref here, just a slightly puerile play on words with PEE being another way of referring to it, and Personal ExpeditioN assIStant (PENIS) being the other non-regulation acronym. And yes, it is vaguely phallic shaped.
Page 7 - Engineer Wilco - Yet another SQ reference, named so for the main 'hero' of that game, Roger Wilco.
So yeah, that's all the little refs in that first story. xD

First of all, thank you so very much for those of you reading this that grabbed story commishes from me during my recent fundraising drive. I managed to help out not just two, but four friends in need in various ways, so yeah, thanks! You'll see some of the fruits of the pledges hit my gallery too soon, as they're all artists and took the help in exchange for commishes. :3
Speaking of that, here's the list of peeps getting story and first chapter drafts from me over the next four days:
Frysco, vip651, Reuven, Grantneodude, a-lycotonum, hammerstriker001
I'm also working to finish off the last of my backlog, another chapter for the awesome Fang. I now have another backlog of stories to upload too as well, but won't be snowballing you again with them like last time! Slow and steady.
I've also started organising my stuff into folders, starting with Jax's artwork and stories. So Jax fans out there, you'll find it much easier to go between the 50+ pieces I have of her. xD
So yeah, little update for y'all and I'm gonna post another journal tomorrow with another little request in aid of something I'm going to organise.

If you've ever thought about grabbing a story commission from me, and haven't already or already doing so, now would be a fantastic time to do so. Why, you ask? Two of my closest friends, cantdecideonausername and nautilusta, are faced with pretty hefty vet bills for their dogs, Skye's needed paw surgery and though insurance will cover some of it, it won't cover all. Naut's is having fits and needs tests to find out why. So yeah, I'm going to pitch in what I can out of my own monies to help them, but would love to help them a little bit more with your help. Any commissions I take this week will be going to both of them, so this is a signal boost for myself really in aid of that. I've got lots of slots on offer in various Q&D categories, but if there's something not covered by them, you're always welcome to poke at me for a custom story.
Oh! Both are them are very, very fine artists in their own right, and open for emergency commissions too. Why not grab a piece of amazing art at the same time as a story? ^.~

I'm so exhausted, but wanted to journal first
Posted 10 years agoOmg, I'm sure you've realised now I wasn't kidding about a whirlwind or storm of Jinx stuff hitting you. For those that didn't see it creeping into your galleries over the past almost four hours and now are faced with a solid wall of Jinx, I hope what you find makes it worth my dominating them so heavily!
Excuse mushy typing and thoughts right now, I'm falling asleep at my chair right now after a solid evening of uploading and its almost 1 am here across the pond from various sides depending on which one you are in.
In addition to the wave of stories (I didn't even get them all uploaded, I ran out of steam to do so!), you've no doubt seen the new commission types I have on offer. I hope some of them pique your interest, especially those that have never commissioned from me before.
For those few people now that I owe commissions to, I'll be doing yours first and have them all in various stages of completion. This week I've been working solidly to knock them into shape after the stop-start of feeling ill and then dental surgery. Thank you for your patience, it's good to be running back on full steam.
One thing I have to toy with now is a small price increase. As you might be aware, though I'm a Britfur, I charge in dollars, and take the conversion hit to pounds myself, rather than charge nearly twice my prices in dollars for the same amount in £ that I charge in dollars (e.g. $18 dollars commishes would have to rise to $28 or so for me to get £18). The vast majority of my commishers are US-based, and I'd rather take on extra commissions and work a bit harder to make up the difference than put my prices up to levels that I feel would be unacceptably high for those based in the US. It's not your fault we have two separate currencies, and I value your custom too much to price gouge.
That said however, the $-£ exchange rate has really taken a blow recently and paypal fees might have increased too, so I'm seeing a 10-15% drop in what I'd usually get after conversion and fees over just a few months ago. With my hopeful plans to go as freelance as possible still in the air, I'm gonna have to up my Q&D's from $18 to $20 and be a little more circumspect about the amount of discounts I usually give, as it'll make a real difference in off-setting those niggling percentages. Hopefully it's not so much of an increase that it'll put people off now and you and they understand the reasons why. I'll make sure you get something in return though - some extra wordage for your stories in thanks.

I'm all caught up on studies and stuff that I needed to do after coming out of a dentistry-induced haze and got a few outstanding commishes out of the way and done and will be uploading a whole crap of stories tomorrow and Monday, and finishing off my last handful tomorrow, monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Been a stop-start-stop-start couple of weeks until now, so it's good to be able to look ahead and see that I can do my usual speedy turnarounds again from mid next week, and feel okay about opening up new slots :D
Oh, anyone whose note hasn't been responded to properly, I'll be doing so tomorrow.

Posted 10 years agoOkay, its not quite that bad as it might sound, but it seems Lady Luck is throwing me both awesome amounts of luck for some things, and total curveballs when it comes to more than a couple of days of uninterrupted writing this past couple of weeks, that have knocked my schedule askew a few times.
I ended up having to have some dental work done yesterday (friday) and I'm doped up on painkillers to manage the discomfort I'm in from it. It means I'm loopy as hell for periods of the day and / or just grumpy and sleepy and flaked out. Through periods of more focused lucidity or not-so-profound loopyness today, I'm managing to get some amount of work done, just at a slower pace. The worst of it should wear off by Monday, so yeah, sorry guyses and galses, hopefully next week I can get back to my usual turnaround schedule.
Hope y'all have a good weekend and aren't as fluffyheaded for the wrong reasons as I am right now.

Just a quick update as I'm just coming up for breath this evening after a crazy few days, especially the last two. I've had to pretty much drop everything until tonight in a mad scramble to get a business plan put together and attend some self-employment workshops and sessions in order to attempt to put an application in for an entrepreneurial sponsorship program that I'm taking a stab at and only found out about it at the last moment. It's a slender chance of me getting it, but I felt it was worth taking as it might just help secure my future as a freelance writer and devote as much time as possible to commission writing as I really want to and have been and have it be long-term sustainable.
So yeah, sincere apologies for not responding to notes and not uploading my backlog as I said I would, I've been pushed for time and my timescale for completing commissions is going to be a little bit extended again, but not to a great degree and I'm holding off on taking new ones and working long hours over the next few days now to catch up. Again, accept my apologies, sucks I've had to delay a couple of these, but I hope you can understand the reasons behind it. Thought it best to just focus on the non-writing stuff for a few days, rather than trying to do little bits here and there and not giving commissions my full creative attention and time.
Here's the game plan afor the remainder of this week and watch out for your names:
Wed 23rd - Hammerstriker01 (edits and extension completion) & aco (Q&D hypno) BOTH COMPLETE
Thursday - Barisaxophone (chap 1 of Q&D) WIP & Kristen (extension / sidestory) COMPLETE

Saturday & Sunday - final edit pass of Barisaxophone commission (COMPLETE) Rahka (Hypno mermaid chapter 2) & Barados (latex conclusion) (COMPLETE RAHKA and WIP BARADOS)
Monday - Attack1942 & starting HSR new chap & Jaycen Slaanesh hypno / corruption
For those like HSR and Barisa who have had to wait a bit longer, I'll be making the subsequent chapters of your stories a priority for next week, same with the ever-awesome Aco as thanks for patience during an unplanned for delay.

Thanks much for your well-wishes on my last journal, much appreciated. <3 Seem to have managed to kick my cold and headache that made staring at the screen for very long at all uncomfortable and difficult, and now getting back on track with shizz to be done. I've managed to do a few bits here and there during my convalescence anyway, but tomorrow its full steam ahead, and will be working four very full days to get everything outstanding that needs to done, and with minimal delay as possible. I'll produce a new schedule tomorrow when I pass on the first two completed commishes tomorrow, and then pretty much aim to pass on two each day until they're all squared away and the editing that's left to do has all been done..

Posted 10 years agoI've been fighting a cold on and off all this week, managing to plow on through my commishes as on-time as I can anyway, but think today I'm just gonna have to call it a complete day off today (Sat), just so I can rest and come out firing on all cylinders tomorrow. Shouldn't have too much of a knock-on effect on my schedule, I'm a good 60% of the way through and should only be a day behind on some of them at the very max.

Mainly aimed as an update to my commission work list previously journal'd, but shifting back my schedule of finished commissions back a day so I can just kick back and recharge my creative batteries today and come out fightin' tomorrow. Plus catch up on the uploads I have backed up later today.
Thanks everyone for your commissions and continued interest in the stuffs I do, and hope you're all getting that Friday feelin' for a restful weekend ahead.
Mainly aimed as an update to my commission work list previously journal'd, but shifting back my schedule of finished commissions back a day so I can just kick back and recharge my creative batteries today and come out fightin' tomorrow. Plus catch up on the uploads I have backed up later today.

Been a chaotic last few days, so bear with me until then so my lovely commissioners for the shark slots and remaining edits to be done can see where I'll be busy bee-ing them in for story completions. Phew, that's a long list, and will look better when I transfer it to my new trello tomorrow. What does flexi-day mean, you ask? Those are days where I'm planning to just recharge my personal batteries and chill and game a little, and if I write, it'll be for work on personal or gift projects. But! I may also get into a twitchy writing mood afterwards and work on commissions early, hence the flexi part. I plan to hit those deadlines set for delivery and there's a 95% chance I will, but there's always a 5% chance life will throw a spanner in the works like it did on Friday just gone with attending a workshop. Next Thursday and Friday, I plan to tie up the bits and pieces I've been doing on the next thrilling chapter of The Eternal Corruption of Aja Winters for the Amazing Aco (Yes, he's that amazing!), hence holding off on posting the last chapter I have sitting on my desktop ready for upload, until it was closer to that date, so the wait isn't so long, cause holy shizz, it's a doozy. Uploading that tomorrow!

Friday commission completions pushed to Saturday
Posted 10 years agoJust a quick update on my schedule journal (linked to below), due to being offered a place on a care course skills workshop today (currently breaking for coffee as I type this) and more than likely won't be back until late evening, Friday's completions will be pushed to tomorrow (sat) nstead. I'm going to try and get one of them done anyway, but if not, those penciled in for those dates (Fang and Hammerstriker), will both get their finished commissions tomorrow.

Heya watchers, been a couple of weeks or so since my last journal, but much has happened during it and continues to happen, so thought it was time to post an update, especially when I have stuffs to give away, both vidya game related and for my own literary commissions.
Firstly, I got just over 500 of y'all! A little milestone worth marking, I think, plus the almost 10k page views! Wew! Naked sharks and kinky stories has much to do with that, I think. xD Thanks all for your interest, definitely helps keep me motivated. As has the absolute explosion of popularity that my recent new 'Quick and Dirty' commissions have gone through and continues to. Holy shizz. It's keeping me a busy sharkskoon of course, but I'm loving it. It also means that if I can keep up the momentum of them and they keep growing as they have, I can actually seriously consider freelance kink and furry writing as a part-time career. I'm entering training for care work in September, so it definitely means that if it consistently does, then I can take a part-time position in care work. Big if though; I'm not hedging my bets yet. It's long been a dream of mine to do something like that though, writing for a living on my own terms, so we'll see! If I can build up a solid client base, then yeah, it's doable! Those of you who have commissioned me over the past couple of weeks and have been giving me such positive feedback too and are watchers or notice this journal, then thank you, truly for helping make my Q&D's a total success.
