Furbooru and E621
Posted 5 months agoFurbooru and E621 are Boorus for furry art. On these sites, anyone can post anyone's art, with some restrictions that may vary, but the users are expected to provide artist names and sources. Any artist who has verified themselves can request a Do-Not-Post entry, which limits or completely prohibits reposts of their work. Although both sites allow 18+ users only... If you're a minor, writing something like "do not repost" on/under the art is about the best thing you can do... E621 also prohibits art made by users known to be minors, even retroactively (meaning that if someone was known to make a picture at the age of 16, this picture cannot be posted, even if they're now 24... Sounds like BS, but I don't make the rules).
"I don't like that someone reposted my art to Furbooru/E621, can they remove it?"
There's no convenient way to remove anything from these sites, UNLESS you have a DNP entry on there. Only verified artists can request DNP entries.
On Furbooru artist verification is simple:
1) Create an account
2) Click Artist Links in your profile
3) In the 1st field, type in your artist tag (e.g. "artist:stinkek"). In the 2nd field, insert a link to your profile page on DeviantArt/FurAffinity/Newgrounds/Instagram/etc. You can choose whether this link will be visible to everyone or to staff only. Double-check everything. Click Submit.
4) The site will generate a text code. Copy-paste it somewhere on the aforementioned profile page where a staff member can see it.
5) Wait... Once verified, you will see your artist tag and the profile page link in the Artist Links section, and you can remove the code.
6) [optional] Repeat steps 2-5 to list additional profile pages.
Creating a DNP entry on Furbooru:
1) In the bottom, click Do-Not-Post List. Click Create an entry. Click Yes.
2) Select a reason, fill in the DNP Request Form, click Submit Request.
3) Assuming the staff don't ask any questions, you can just wait... You'll know the DNP entry is active when you find it in the DNP list, or when you click your artist tag. It is technically possible to make more than one DNP entry if the reasons are different.
On Furbooru, images violating DNP conditions can be reported under Rule #1.
As for E621... sorry, can't help you with that one. And it allows c*b, which is blacklisted by default, but I'm still not sure you would want to go there knowing this.
"They should've asked my permission first"
Oh, I'm sure every artist is still alive and cares enough to log into their account they didn't use for at least 5 years to answer that. And if a site dies for any reason, any of its exclusives should be lost because the artists never said "yes".
Sarcasm aside, you should post your art to at least 2 websites, preferably those that don't turn everything into JPEGs. Instagram better not be one of them, unless you're okay with feeding your art and maybe selfies to AI.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
If DeviantArt allowed disabling comments on journals, I would've done it there as well. I wish they allowed us to disable Notes and private chats too, there are more bots than humans messaging me. But no, it's so much more important for DA to turn their site into discount Patreon where any talentless meatbag can sell AI-generated imagery, and have AI ADVERTISED too.

You can blacklist tags now
Posted 10 months agoTook them long enough to implement this, but hey, DeviantArt also didn't have this option for like 2 decades
Disabling Notes
Posted 2 years agoin order to reduce likelyhood of people asking for RQs/ATs/coms, doing small talk without actually talking about anything... and spamming, which is actually the least of my concerns here.
Wish I could do this on DeviantArt.

I have amazing fucking questions
Posted 2 years agoIs it furry to like Worms the way I do?
(I really just made this journal to hide the previous one because it makes me cringe)

May move stuff to Inkbunny
Posted 2 years agoI got a tad paranoid with the recent announcements. I don't feel like asking the staff whether my pictures with the first two little pigs in Blitz Wolf are deemed acceptable (ambiguous age), it was enough mental effort for me to ask the Tumblr support about a shadowban (which thankfully was just a glitch and they fixed it). There's also Caligula Minus art which I suspect was mistaken for shotacon before, guess that should also go, I have most of it on Pixiv already.
Your fursona's species?
Posted 3 years agoWhat it says in the title. Tell what it is, why you picked it. Or why you created it, if it's something from your head.
Thinking about removing expansion art
Posted 4 years agoI don't have much of that, but it's a set of kinks/fetishes I'd rather not associate with. I was never into that stuff to begin with.
I plan to be nice though and reupload it on my Sta.sh, so that I don't get notified about it.
Sept. 4 Edit: Here https://sta.sh/2vm80tmpnop?edit=1 If you wanna repost something... fine, you may, with credit.

Dogmatix cartoon
Posted 4 years agoThere's an animated series about Dogmatix and it's already available for French viewers, although a few episodes (still French only) are also open on YT.
Wonder if it ever attracts furries. It's a kids cartoon but still.

Custom thumbnails?
Posted 6 years agoI still make custom thumbnails for some of my pictures (the most recent one has a cartoon human character), but they don't seem to work, instead I see the usual miniatures of all my pictures. I checked settings, but I didn't find anything involving custom thumbnails. Am I missing something?
Discord
Posted 6 years agoI added my Discord to the Contacts section on my profile. I don't come on Fur Affinity everyday, but I'm always on Discord, so if you have a Discord too, we can use that.
Some things you should know in advance:
- I won't reveal my voice
- I won't show any photos of myself
- Don't ask about art requests, trades or commissions, I don't do them nowadays
- Don't ask me personal/creepy questions
- Don't bring up controversial topics (history, politics, the number of genders, etc.)
- Don't send disturbing photos (violence, gore, pornography)
- Don't send guro art
- Don't try to make me draw Adolf Wolf and von Vultur. You can still talk about these characters generally, I suppose

Username change
Posted 8 years agoI wish we could change our usernames on this site.
When people want to take a new username, they create new accounts and sometimes CLOSE previous accounts. Too much for just a new username, right?
I hate my username on this site but I'm certainly not making a new account just for a new one.
On Inkbunny, if you want to change your username you simply need to write to the mods (or what do you call the people responsible for this?..).
If you want to change your username on DeviantArt, you need Core membership (which you can buy either with real money or points which you can earn without necessarily spending money), but you can't change your username back and you're not able to change it again until 6 months pass.
I see there are updates on this site but I usually ignore them. Username change is all I want at the time.

Wallpart.com, stolen art, phishing

Always write site addresses right
Posted 11 years agoOnce I wrote "furaffinity.com" instead of "furaffinity.net", and... Well, I think I ended up on a porn site (and there were no furries). XD
I'm looking at some galleries here and thinking
Posted 11 years agoI guess it must suck to be a really nice person who, however, can't draw. :(
My problem is opposite: I draw much better than I communicate.
