Crazy weather!
Posted 14 years agoWow, what an amazing storm we had last night!
I woke up around 11pm on Sunday to the sound of rushing water outside. Looked out my window to see intense rain, lightning and lots of wind. Oh, and my yard and the street were indistinguishable due to the raging river that had suddenly appeared! It was a mess. I had to run out in the storm to pull my car around to the back yard, which is a higher hill. I was afraid of the poor thing getting washed away! I managed to get some sleep, but it was rough. Kept waking up to the tornado sirens going on and off in the city. I eventually moved down into my basement to sleep on my couch down there. It ended up working and I'm all in one piece!
Unfortunately, my front room isn't!
You see, I have a split-level home. It's a little bigger than an average house, but not enough to be two full stories tall. The lower half of the house is flooded with about 2 inches of water! I had to move all of the furniture up the 5 stairs and into the kitchen and dining room. All by myself! @=@ It was tough work for 5am, but it was worth it. Thankfully, I won't have to worry about water damage because the lower level of the house is nothing more than a concrete slab with walls. I borrowed a friend's industrial sized fan earlier and I'm currently in the process of drying out the front room. The water's gone now, but the fan remains to air out the baseboards along the wall. I might just end up replacing them if the water damage is irreversible.
Interestingly enough, my basement is perfectly dry! I'm so happy that I got this place with an insulated and finished basement! Otherwise I may have woken up in an underground pool!
Anyways, moving all the furniture and cleaning the water out took up the whole day, which was meant to be a drawing day. I want to get cracking on my commissions! I now have a little bit of tonight and all of tomorrow to get as much done as possible. I have to be back into work on Wednesday, which is why I want to get this stuff done!

Commissions anyone?
Posted 15 years agoSo I'm thinking about taking commissions sometime soon because I just learned that the company I work for is going to be making some cuts and I haven't been working here long enough to guarantee that I will be staying.
So I was wondering if anyone would be interested in commissioning me! I know I don't have much up here yet, so should I upload more examples of my skills here? What do you all think?
I'm also going to get a PayPal set up for this too. :)
