Those who follow me on Twitter already know about this -- last Tuesday  Hamakei and I became a married couple. Ceremony was in the Denver courthouse on Colfax avenue. Along with Hamakei's parents, we had  ZilchWoofs,  KampieStarz and her partner Callie (who does not have an FA account).

He will return to the UK this Sunday, after which he will start the process for my eventual immigration sometime next year.

Sorry for this being brief. Not sure what else to write here, other than I eagerly await the day when we will finally be together without any barriers in between.

This is not a journal to say I'm having a creative block or am otherwise struggling with work. Far from it. I just fell compelled to write something after reading another artist's journal, going into details about how he goes about his work -- https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9983103/

In a way, it is a bit comforting that I am not the only one like this. Just like Tanraak, I need to stop working on some ideas and start others, because I feel the need of taking a break from some ideas. This is a big factor on why I decided not to charge commissioners until I am close to finishing their respective requests -- I do not think it is fair to hang to someone's money while I take my time to finish their request. Not to mention that the pressure of owing someone just makes it harder for me. :|

With plans for moving next year and making art my "job" of sorts, then I will have more time and things hopefully move faster. But the same process of juggling which pics get worked at a specific moment will certainly remain.

I want to clarify something about the previous journal.

I don't want people to think I don't like any opinions different from my own. I don't mind people voicing their opinions, and if they wish to counter something I may have said, they are welcome to do so, as long they do so respectfully. If I say, "I believe in X", then I would want anyone believing in "Z" say something to the effect of "I see your point, but this is why I don't think the same."

Who knows... it could be possible that I may be wrong in some things, and at the very least I would consider the other person's words. But if someone just says "You're stupid for believing in X" and goes hellbent on a hateful tirade of why X and everything related to it is crap... then we have a problem.

That is what someone did in my journal. I barely read a couple sentences, and decided it was enough. That one person whose comments I removed (who must have been a watcher who unfollowed after leaving his comments, because I can't see how else they would have found my journal) was in that latter camp. I don't want insults towards me, towards my boyfriend, nor all my followers who enjoy my works.

If anyone reading this thinks the only way to make their point across is to be rude, I kindly ask that you unfollow me. Otherwise, you are welcome to stay.

Almost like an unintentional gift from the US government, starting this November, they are finally opening US travel to fully vaccinated people from the UK and EU. Which means,  Hamakei can visit the US again, and for us to get married here in Colorado.

After that, we can start the process for me to get a visa that will allow me to relocate to the UK. There's going to be lots of things that will need to happen as well, like selling my apartment and car, and either ship, sell or donate my belongings. So, sometime at the beginning of next year my path here in the US will end, and a new one will begin.

Today was the 1-year anniversary of my current job. It has had its ups and downs. The lower pay, later start time and crappy benefits certainly are less than ideal. On the other hand, though, I'm left alone to do my work -- no constant and pointless meetings, no bullshit about how my work has to reflect some "vision" that some middle management comes up to be fed onto the bottom rungs of the corporate ladder, nor how I have to list my "achievements" at the end of the year for some "performance review" bullshit. So I'm just bidding my time, slowly gathering and boxing some of my things at home, while I wait for the day when this COVID crap will finally allow me to make the ultimate move.

I have a few pics in progress that I will try to finish hopefully soon. And there are stories I need to finish. I know people are wondering how "Unresolved Paths" will get, well... resolved (*rimshot*). Also wrote one about that "Servicing the Cow" pic (completed, but needs polishing), and I have an incomplete one of how Grell joined the Archosaur Patrol.

Sorry for the silence as of late. Just been having some "art funk", where I can't get myself to work on any of the pics I have pending, much less finish any of them.

Gonna try to get something going this weekend, that hopefully will get the gears moving again.

I have barely made any progress on the darned thing, hard pressed for time, and coming home often from work too tired to want to do much other than vegetate in front of the computer. Anyway, I've had a few things in my mind that are bugging me...

-- Reusing some ideas from my old stories: This ought to be fine in the sense that since I came up with them, and they fit my planned story, it should be okay to use them. More so when I don't intend to publish those old stories. But since the novel would be under some pseudonym, the last thing I want is someone with good intentions but unaware of this, writing a review saying "This writer stole ideas made by X, the furry writer!"

-- Conversely, if the novel gets published, how would one go about promoting it here or Twitter without anyone writing a review and saying things like "I first knew of this writer from his sexy dinosaur porn"? I'm sorry, but there are quite a few reasons why that would not be a good thing. Nor would I like others to think I have any relationship to that darned Chuck Tingle's books. :P

I'm just rambling at this point. I guess I need to write the darned thing, then worry about these things.

As people guessed from my recent posting, I was out of the country for two weeks, visiting  Hamakei . And as the pic showed, we got engaged.

As to what that means is that some day in the future we hope to get married, and myself packing my bags and belongings and move to the UK. It's not something that will happen any day soon; this COVID crap really needs to be put under control and become history before I can think of doing anything.

I must confess feeling a bit anxious about it all. While I've been to the UK twice already, there are still many things that feel very different from life on my side of the world. And as expected, there are quite a few things that I feel a bit attached towards that I would have to let go, like my car, some types of stores, and even some food and food places.

But a big incentive for a move (besides of being with my partner) is healthcare. The American system leaves quite a bit to be desired, and it will remain so as long as corporate profits is the motivator. The thought that one major health issue could result in bankruptcy, or finding that care is being denied for some capricious excuse, is enough to keep one awake at night.

Of course I would either look for employment there and/or look to earn some money through art to contribute to the household bills and stuff.

For now, though, it is life as usual for this Carno.

Hello, everyone. Just a quick note that I'm currently away from my computer and will be for a little while. I'm enjoying a small tour of the UK with my boyfriend  hamakei.

I will resume work on commissions once I get back home.

I interviewed for an office position this morning, About an hour later, I received a call that they want to hire me! I had never had such a quick response to an interview, but I will accept it.

The pay for this job is 30 cents less per hour than another that still had not given me a firm offer, but the commute is 10 miles less each way, so it makes better sense financially. The pay is higher than that place I left earlier this month, but it is still well below what I was making when I was laid me off last June. So I will still be offering commissions, YCHs and adoptables so I can have additional income for bills and food.

In any case, I am glad to have a job again in this economy.

I quit the job I started last month. Some of the working conditions were rather stressful, resulting from the company's apparent lack of coordination on how to schedule and stage the items they prepared, resulting in lots of last second rushes to have items shipped.

As a result of this, I will be opening commissions later this weekend. For now, they will be single-character only, to make it easier for me to get back into the swing of it. There will be two tiers of work. They will not be on a first-come, first-served; I will try to complete as many as I can do comfortably. so i will try to choose those I feel I can do a better job at creating.

More details to come tomorrow.

Good news -- I was given an offer for employment, and will start this Monday the 13th.

The not so good news -- it is an entry level position, and as such my pay will be just over half of what I was making at the job I lost last month (I had been there for 10 years, in a place that consistently scores high among the "worst places to work for" in the US). At least I won't have to deal with the "outsourced headaches" I had at my previous job.

What this means is that while I will not be as pressured to make money from art, I will announce whenever I open for commissions/YCHs/adoptables in order to earn some extra money. And I will keep looking for opportunities for other careers, whether at the new place or in other workplaces.

When advertised, slots will not be on a first-come, first-served basis. I know how frustrating that can be, so I have decided that any openings will be kept open for at least two days, with selections made after the window closes. No system is perfect, and I know some may not be fond of this process, but I think it is the most equitable way to do this.

Anything in the lists below is not exhaustive, and it is not necessarily limited to what is shown. Any examples in some of the entries in each list are as a guideline and may include/preclude similar scenarios. I reserve the right to change the contents of any of the lists at any time, and to reject any designs that may not be listed below.

I realize the stuff below makes me look very picky, and you would be correct. Unlike many other people, I find it very hard to draw if an idea starts bugging my brain, so my apologies beforehand if anyone feels I'm placing too many demands.

Comfort zone (will draw):

- Many types of creatures that are based on or may resemble reptiles, birds, mammals, and amphibians of the extinct, real or imaginary kinds. Fish and Insect may vary depending on species.
- Body types include humanoid, feral, or "taur" varieties of the species mentioned above.
- Some features on species that normally would not have them (eg, nipples and/or external genitalia in reptiles, birds and sharks).
- M/M and M/F, and solo situations with either sex.
- Non-erotic scenes.
- Young characters in non-adult situations (like this image).
- Partial or full cybernetic/robotic characters that are animal-like in appearance (depends on complexity).
- Nudity, whether sexual or artistic.
- Size difference, up to a limit (something like my Grell and Darkthunder).

- Transformation (only from one species to another; same as F/F above).
- Cock worship.
- Macro (*ONLY* if it is a "gentle/helpful giant" scene).
- Extreme BDSM/sexual/psychological torture.
- Partial amputation of limbs (two extremities max).
- Extremely detailed characters and/or backgrounds.
- A few types of male and female, non-humanoid genitalia (As a rule, nothing outside of male human dicks, only reptilian-like or cetacean-like. For females, just slits.)

OUTSIDE comfort zone: (Apologies beforehand for the long list, but there are varying personal reasons for it, from 1) not fully understanding the topic and thus unable to give it justice, or 2) it is a subject that does not attract me, or 3) it is an idea that I really don't want to touch. There could be some exceptions to some of them, but those would be extremely rare and far between, and like the group above, acceptance for one person does not mean others would be. Terms of service:

- By placing a commission, you agree to all the terms and conditions in this page, and you certify that you are of legal age (18 yrs or higher depending on your jurisdiction) to enter a contract and to order adult material.

- Price is for *one* version of the image. Small detail changes could be done, but will incur additional costs, and are subject to artist's decision whether to do so based on complexity of request.

- No guarantees as to whether I may draw items in parts two ("SOMEWHAT") or three ("OUTSIDE") of the Art Topics shown above, even if I may have done so before in the past. (Those were unique exceptions.) If I decide not to, you can come up with an alternate idea or rescind the commission.

- Character references must be provided, otherwise, that means I will assume I have complete freedom to design. If changes are requested to this design, an additional charge of at least 30% of the commission price will be added, depending on complexity. Reference pictures for desired poses are welcomed. Provide links of RL sex images (of consensual acts by *ADULT* humans) if you want pose to be almost exact (deviations may be needed to consider anatomy of characters). References using drawings by other people will be altered to avoid the "furry drama" that could follow (even when poses *CANNOT* be copyrighted).

- For references, if one is provided, it will be followed as is. If changes are requested to this reference, they must be specified along with the reference. If changes are requested *after* work has started, then the same surcharge as above will be applied. For this point and above, if the surcharge is not accepted by the commissioner, then work will be stopped and picture will not be completed.

- -While an idea will be provided for the general direction a drawing will take, sometimes it may be necessary to deviate somewhat in order to accommodate things like a character's anatomy or to make corrections that may have been missed or some required detail. Also, depending on idea and/or pose, it is possible that some of the details requested may not be seen (for example, visible penetration where it would require one or more characters to be drawn in a way where this normally would not be possible, or wanting both pecs *AND* the butt to be entirely visible). Pose may need to be altered otherwise.

- Micromanaging of details will result in terminating the commission. While you can request changes that are clearly my mistake, do not request that things in the image must be done to some very exact specifications.

- A Paypal invoice will be sent when payment is due, which will be after flat colors are complete but before shading (at which point the image will be close to completion). This ensures that, if I take a long time to complete any drawing due to some unforeseen circumstances, commissioners are not left wondering when they will get what they paid for. It also saves commissioners from requesting refunds if for some reason I cannot complete a work.

- That said, the finished work will not be delivered until invoice is paid in full.

- Please do not request nor expect that the image will be completed within any arbitrary timeline. I'm far from being one of the fastest artists on this planet, and I work better when I can draw at a relaxed pace. (This is the main reason why I no longer accept payment until image is nearly complete.)

- Unsolicited payments (full or partial) or sent outside of the invoice process above will be returned.

- Two low resolution versions will be offered before completion: 1)A pencil sketch, at which point you can ask for corrections in things like some details, body proportions, etc; 2)A flat color version to correct deviations in color patterns as such. No corrections will be accepted outside of these two points. Please note that changes may be needed to the original sketch in the case of missed errors in the original sketch that may require corrections.

- I do NOT draw "exclusive" images. If you wish to have an image that will be seen only by a select few and never anyone else, then kindly look elsewhere. I can hold off posting your commission for some time if requested, but every image will eventually end up in any of my online galleries.

- While you and/or other people will own the characters in the image, all other rights to the artwork at all stages (both in progress and finished), including commercial, stays with the artist. As such, I reserve the right to use part or all of the commission in the future to: 1) advertise for commission openings; 2) include in art portfolios or collections, and 3) upload to online galleries and/or social media like (including, but not limited to) Twitter, FurAffinity, SoFurry, Weasyl, DeviantArt, FurryNetwork, Itaku, Mastodon, or Patreon.

After commission is complete:
- You will get a high resolution PNG file. You are free to post either the full or a smaller version to any site, as long as credit is given to me as the creator.

Disclaimers:
- Artist is not responsible for any consequences from commissioner viewing the image while in the presence of people that may not approve of its contents.
- Images with adult contents should not be given to anyone younger than 18, as it may harm them.
- Do not open image while driving or operating machinery -- please keep your eyes on the road and your work at all times, people.

Two hours into my shift today, my boss' boss scheduled a chat to let me know I am out of a job. They will pay me this week in full, but I already lost access to my work tools, and I need to return my work laptop tomorrow. So I guess there is no point in completing what I needed to finish.

I can manage this for a while -- I have savings that can last me several months, and somewhat longer if managed very wisely. And I certainly will be filing for unemployment and start combing around for jobs later this week, after the initial shock goes away. But until the time I can find a job again (hopefully), I will have lots of free time available, so I see two options:

1 -- Commissions: I know several of you have wanted a drawing from me, yet I had not opened due to feeling a bit drained from my job. Now will be your chance. However, I don't want to just open flood gates and start feeling overwhelmed. It will be a little bit at a time to start, and maybe grow progressively from there. Regardless of volume, I do not wish to take payments until I am fairly close to deliver the completed image. I found out that the thought of owing a pic because I already have the money just adds to the stress. That said, however, I will not deliver the complete work until pay arrives. I trust my followers; I just don't want some opportunist latch onto this to get free art.

2 -- Patreon?: That dirty word, I know. I had thought about it before, but only as some sort of tip jar. I have always been content to share my work in its entirety to everyone, and I do not wish to change that. Which means, there would be no exclusive contents, no censored/cropped artwork here, no plastering of messages on images to get people to subscribe, no tiers that give more to those that can afford it. If anything, I would be just one basic tier with higher resolution images as a thank you for those who wish to give a bit of their hard-earned cash. Certainly some voting so people can decide what I should work on next. Maybe some early posts, with the understanding that all of them would make it to my galleries within a week or two. Not sure how I would go about giving rewards, if any. (And no, I would not inundate it with very rough sketches or 3D renders -- it would be just for works that I have put a good amount of effort to make.)

I hope I am not imagining things... but I vaguely remember reading something by someone, I believe here in FA, about a program they use to create rooms for use in their drawings. I don't think it was "Sketch Up"; the output I've seen with that program looks more like your regular CAD software.

Don't know why the name of Disney comes to mind... maybe because it is used by their animators? Somehow Zaush comes to mind as well -- he may have mentioned as using it for some of his images, or someone else did while reposting a pic by him. He seems to have left FA for Patreon (likely after all the controversy surrounding him) so not sure if any notes would be answered.

Anyway, if anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, links to said program will be much appreciated.

My last journal here was a few months ago, where I was feeling a bit down because I could not find the will to get back to drawing.

Well, the drawing bug has bitten again, and I hope this time it stays. I have several ideas in mind, so I am working to get them out.

Some of you may be wondering, when there will be a new Kaa drawing? That's something even myself can't answer. I've been trying, posting the occasional doodle on Twitter, but that has been the extent of it for quite some time. Every time I try to do more substantial, I struggle a lot trying to come up with ideas, or poses, or anatomy. So I end up erasing it, discarding, or not completing it. Nothing that I try looks right. I have even tried to look at other folks' works for ideas to spark my own, but it also fails. The inspiration and motivation just aren't there.

But unlike the Manilow song, I don't know if it's something that one can ask a doctor.

It is a slump that I want to overcome. But when I will triumph, or even if I will, I cannot say.

I mentioned this on my Twitter account a few days ago -- I have set myself a personal goal to improve how my body looks and feels. While I am more or less at my size's average weight, I certainly don't have a few things I want. Namely, strength and stamina. I decided to do something about it, so I ordered some dumbbells from Amazon, and will start training with them. My first goals will be to get rid of my belly and growing a bit of muscle. Hopefully I will look (and feel) better where I may feel less embarrassed to step inside a gym for more training.

Now, I am not looking to become a human version of my Grell. While Grell is the ideal version of how I would like to be (if I were some dino dude) both in body and general "bad ass", it is an impossible goal for me. To be as strong and muscled as Grell would take far more effort, time and dedication than I can put into it.

But regardless of where I end up in my quest, hopefully both my body and self esteem will head into a path I can feel proud of.

Does anyone know of a way to change the default Argonian player voice in original Skyrim? A while back I found this mod, Player size adjuster -- https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32155 -- so I figured I could use it to play a young, mid 20's-like Argonian. All fine and cool, but somehow the default Argonian voice doesn't seem fitting. I have been able to change the dragon shouts by downloading an elf male elf voice, and renaming the folder with the sounds as "maleargonian". But all the grunts, attacks and heavy breathing are still the default Argonian voice.

Anyone gotten around this?

As the title may suggest, there's a very high probability that this Carnotaur may drop by for a visit. It will be my first time to the UK, and my second international trip.

Barring any complications, the plan is to arrive during the first half of April (which happens to be the Carno's birthday!) and stay for about a week.

While I cannot promise for certain when I may resume drawing again regularly, I can say for certain that I intend to keep a promise -- there will be no paywalls for my characters.

Whatever other people do it is none of my business, but I am quite fed up with finding lots of "low res" works, scraps and censored stuff from people. Some even walled themselves completely behind Patreon.

You will not find the same from this Carnotaur. I will make my images freely available to everyone. And following the example of one of my fave artists, high res versions of my images will be made available on my sta.sh account, with corresponding links given with every submission. There will be no "patrons only" content ever.

And because of this, I have rescinded permission to have my characters used on anything that will be walled behind Patreon, whether a lower res version is made available or not.
