Zabaikal Curly horse.

The breed standard was established in 1940 and is valid up to the present time. Curly different about half of the representatives of this breed.
Transbaikal horse - native breed horses that steppe nomads bred in the first millennium BC. In this breed of horses in the blood largely preserved its wild ancestors, and with it the valuable biological and economic characteristics and differences. For a small increase in the horses of the breed differ surprising endurance, perfectly adapted to the year-round maintenance of a herd in a sharply continental climate, undemanding to feed, tireless in work, especially under the saddle.
This breed of horses, mostly Turkic-Mongol origin, developed and for many centuries in what is now the Chita region by mixing horses ancient Turks who lived in Transbaikalia, horses and Mongolian tribes.
Until the XVII century Zabaikal curly did not differ from the Mongolian horse. Containing a herd basis over the years, it acquired remarkable qualities - simplicity, endurance, good health, to heat and frost resistance, the ability to find food on their own.
