Tales of Anima Probable Release Delay
Posted 2 years agoHey everyone.
SORRY ABOUT THIS! Tales of Anima might not be ready for an October release. I'm going to push for it, but my Editor is warning me to finish writing the whole script before locking down chapters with finished art. I promise I will get it out as soon as possible. I want to see it done, most likely more than anyone else lol.
At any rate I am not going to release Anima until my editor thinks its ready. He's a professional screenwriter and has made films before so I trust him. But yeah I may have jumped the gun on my release date speculation journal.
You'll see development artwork for anima up to the release though, that for sure I can promise.

Tales of Anima Progress Update
Posted 2 years agoHey everyone. We're about to jump into October now and I want to leave a note about where I am on this project for the sake of accountability.
The comic will release some time in the middle of October. Currently I have the first 10 pages at the coloring phase and all of the base colors are blocked out. I have to shade and render on those pages now.
I will not start releasing Anima until I have a backlog of 20 finished pages and I think that I can have that sometime within three weeks from now.
The release schedule will be Monday and Thursday mornings, one page launched for each day.
As far as story progress for the first arch is concerned, the first two chapters are locked down and there are three more that I'm still revising. I have faith that I'll be making Anima for a long time at this point and just see how big of a brand I can create for it.
The Anima metroidvania game has been stalled a little because of drama that happened to the unity game engine. Allot of indie developers including ourselves made the decision to switch away from Unity to Unreal and the work is being done. The game has no release date at this time but we are looking to have an interesting demo done by the beginning of next year. I think the game will release in 2024 or 2025. We aren't planning to make a very big game here.
There is other content besides Anima on the way as well, the majority of which is from my commission list.
Thanks all. Happy fall!

Tales of Anima News and Release Date speculation.
Posted 2 years agoHey everyone. So I want to be transparent about where I am with making Tales of Anima. Right now the story/plot are entirely figured out and locked down. The final script is being written right now and I have finished script up to chapter 3. That means that I have allot of pages that I can just start making, and I already have the first four pages in the middle of production. Tonight, the first page may even be finished.
There are more things to design but I have a concept for pretty much every prevalent character in the story. I dont have allot of environments though but thats okay because settings usually come to me pretty fast.
I have completely and utterly decided that Tales of Anima will be in the painted style that the Scalebound comic uses and I'm really glad that the comic was a success with you guys. I'm going to now gun it on these pages and build my 20 page backlog. After thats done, I will be releasing a page of the comic on a biweekly or weekly basis. I am not sure which is better and I'll have to ask around for that.
Weekly or Bi-weekly what do you think?
As far as a release date is concerned, I want to see how many pages I can do until this October. October is when I'd ideally like to launch it.
I am not averse to streaming development of the comic when im working on it and I may take a week off my other projects sometime soon to see just how far I can get within a week. The only issue with streaming is that it could spoil the story for some of you who care about that. That is why I hesitate.
Thanks for the support everyone so far, thats all I have to say for now :D

FFXIV Friends... Can I join your freecompany?
Posted 2 years agoI'm having trouble finding decent freecompanies on my server (Exodus) and I now know that many of you guys are playing the game. If you are in an active freecompany i'd like to join one with likeminded furries. Let me know if such a thing exists?

New Transformation Comics coming s00n
Posted 2 years agoHey everyone hope your summer's going well. I'm drawing all the time these days and will hopefully be sharing art allot more often than previously. Transformation comics and sequences are on the way, the first of which is a Ratchet & Clank themed Lombax transformation. This one is probably the longest TF comic i've made yet. Its around 19 pages long and maybe more coming afterwards if you guys like it.
The story is about a human who gets kidnapped by a well known R&C villain who plans to turn him into a super weapon to be used against Ratchet & Clank.
As you guys probably know, I spent two years working on Ratchet & Clank games for the PS3. This comic, which was commissioned by
ratchet_raccoon is my chance to revisit the past. I want to spill my guts over my past. Another reason is to just make the best art I can for my commissioner who wanted to turn into a Lombax.
I've been posting allot of Tales of Anima art lately and I'll just take this moment here to clarify that it is going to be both a webcomic and a metroidvania game featuring Roxah the dragoness. This material is highly TF related and is mainly concerned with post-tftg struggles.
That's all I have to share for now, cya l8r

Kahze's 2023 Furry Art Battle Plan
Posted 2 years agoHey everyone, this is going to be a very big year for me regarding furry art.
I'm contributing to a number of projects right now and I'll mention all of them here so you guys can get a look at how I'll be spending my days as a sniveling art slave.
Projects I'm on:
- Tales of Anima: This is my graphic novel / webcomic project that is about a human, male game developer dude (named Roxah) in his mid twenties who goes to a furry convention with his roomate, Wrothen, and accidentally activates an arcane portal to another realm called Anima - a world ruled by anthropomorphic animals. Both of them are turned into dragons during the portaling, but Roxah specifically turns into a white female dragon. Roxah really wants to go back home and resume her life as a game developer, but her roomate, Wrothen, is thrilled by his new life as a dragon... It makes sense for Wrothen because he was always a die-hard otherkin and believed he had a past life as a dragon that he always longed to return to. Roxah however, is not as fascinated by the concept of being a dragon as Wrothen is - though Roxah did dabble in Otherkin and Furry subcultures in his youth with a dragon-sona. I digress though, Roxah and Wrothen are seperated after they get transported and transformed, and Roxah is left alone to find some way home back to earth. She will meet many friends and foes as she quests to regain her humanity and her old life - but i'll spoil this part: it turns out that it is impossible for her to go back to the way things were. That is to say, Roxah is a dragoness forever now. To make matters even more unsettling, there is a dangerous sorcerer (Neuro) that can wield mind control magic who is locked in a conspiracy against the Akadian Empire - the biggest empire in Anima. Neuro discovers Roxah the white dragoness and now has his eyes on her for his plans... Specifically because of what she is (a white dragon), he thinks she will be very useful for his mission to dethrone Akadia's Emperor, Lotharo which he feels is so necessary he would expend the lives of people to do it.
I'm being vague as to WHY Neuro wants to dethrone Lotharo because I don't want to spoil the whole story, but I have to say I'm really excited about this project. I've gotten to talk allot about my personal experiences with becoming schizophrenic (which to me was analogous to turning into a dragon in this world) and spill my guts about mind control technology and Brain-Computer-Interfaces which is what allot of the content of my schizophrenia was about. Eventually mankind will develop the ability to control the brain of a human being or animal via a machine and while that could be very cool tech for things like video games and has incredible medical applications (such as curing the deaf, speaking to someone who is stuck in a coma, curing the blind, or just generally promoting a better sense of mental health) it is also highly dangerous and has very serious ramifications for society if it ever were to be made available. I have always loved the theme of dangerous technology that can be exploited and miss-used because those kinds of problems are right at our doorstep now. Just take a look at all the discussions we've been having about the ramifications of AI or Transhumanism. Or, more obviously, the debates over the existence of Nuclear Weapons. "What is fair technology to develop and what is evil and too powerful for humanity to own" will rage on into the future and I really want to make something that is a part of that discussion. Moving on from that point though, Tales of Anima also has the whole gender-bending theme Roxah has to deal with which - if you know me - is way up my alley being a TF TG fan. This project isn't going to just be a webcomic either. I also have a metroidvania-esc game in the works where the player controls Roxah. It is set after the webcomic's first arch is over in which Roxah gets involved in a war between Anima's Dragon and Gryphon factions. I'm also going to dabble in hand drawn animations for this project and WILL make the time to animate 1-2 minute long sequences of the webcomic's story so people can get a feel for what Tales of Anima would be like if it were an animated series. I know I can definitely pull this off here and there, I just need to scope it properly so I don't wind up taking on project features that are impossible to pull off. You can see a teaser for the webcomic right now at: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme.....78272/tall.jpg These pages are effectively an art style guide for the rest of the project. I've done allot of work to my process to make my 3D comics feel less stiff feeling and i'll continue to find ways to make the comic look more illustrated even though ism using 3D as a base for my painting and coloring.
- Tail Hearts: I met
Nuraka at Furpocalypse last year and we really hit it off. It turns out that he wants to develop his own furry game, so I offered to help him out with it. Now we're house-mates and I spend time working on his game which is basically a 3D furry dating sim, but I'll let him introduce his own project when he's ready. We've been having allot of fun living together though. I've always wanted to live in a furry household and now that dream is finally coming true! You can find a few Tail Hearts concepts already in my gallery if you're curious about it.
- Legends of Equestria: This is a My Little Pony MMORPG that I have been brought on to contribute to. I am doing interface design work, 2d, and 3D art for this game. It's even already playable! You can check it out at https://www.legendsofequestria.com/ I've always wanted to experience what its like to work on an MMO, and I recently fell in love with MLP so i'm very happy to be doing some work for the ponies on this team. I'll share some of the work i've done later when the team leads let me. Being an entirely volunteer project, development is going at sort of at an "at-your-leisure" pace. I'm okay with this because (as you know) I have plenty of other things to do.
- Commissions: I'll still be working on my commission queue that I got from Midwest Furfest and the rest of you who have asked for images from me via FA. Right now i'm working on two new transformation comics. One is a male human to herm-Gryphon and the other is human to Lombax. I'm excited about both and I'm sure you all will like them allot. I'm especially excited about the lombax comic because I haven't made Ratchet stuff since I was working at Insomniac 10 years ago. It'll be nostalgic to make Lombaxes and their world again.
- Standalone TF Comics: If I can find the time, I'll still be making my own TF material that isn't a commission. I have ideas written out and partially drawn here and there and will be getting around to making them and even some sequels to previous comics when I can.
- Conventions: I'll be hitting whatever conventions I can along the way. I wont be doing dealers den but I may do artist alley to sell prints and take more commissions once I get my current batch finished. My next conventions are: Motor City Furcon, Furry Weekend Atlanta, Anthrocon, Furrydelphia, and Megaplex. A bunch of people did tell me before I left Furthemore last weekend that I was awarded guest of honor for 2024. The convention has yet to email me about that though, so I don't know if its actually the case. We'll see I guess!
So that's pretty much my battle plan for work for this year. I've been enjoying my time as a full time furry artist and can't wait to get all this stuff done. I hope to make awesome stuff for you guys and feel free to hit me up on discord or telegram if you wanna chat.
Godspeed to all of you.

Commissions Delayed due to Mental Ilness
Posted 3 years agoHey everyone, my commissions are delayed due to schizophrenia rearing its ugly head and generally making a mess out of my ability to make art. I have to get this under control before I do anything for anyone right now. I'll let you guys know when i've resumed.
Sorry for the delay.

Three new big TF comics coming.
Posted 3 years agoHey everyone I've got three TF's on my plate, two commissions and one personal and they're all long. One in particular is very similar to my Protogen TG TF comic, but with another species. Commissions are still closed for now.

Blizzard Update and general life stuff.
Posted 3 years agoHey everyone so its been a week or two and I wanted to let you guys know what happened with Blizzard.
The interview went really well! I spoke to the art director of hearthstone and we really got along in the interview, but I got a question wrong when it came to him asking me what I thought a finished hearthstone card was. After I said my answer he basically said something like, "well I'd usually end the interview right here and send you on your way but I really like your personality and the work you brought to us so we're going to keep in touch"
The hearthstone team officially moved on from my application today but HR told me that they are sending my portfolio to other teams in the studio. So, if I want to work at Blizzard some day, not all hope is lost. In fact, it seems like I made a pretty cool contact there because of how my interview went. Some people spend their entire lives trying to work for Blizzard, I actually have the time and ambition to be one of those people so I'm going to go for it and improve myself to see if I can fit in one day. But for now, its' back to commissions and progress on my TF TG webcomic Tales of Anima which i have very big plans for at this point.
There is allot to be said for wanting to be a Full Time Furry Artist too. I've been in big game studios, I've run my own 15 man studio, but I haven't yet given my Furry operation "Kahze Art" all the attention that it could have. It was always more of a side thing, and I wonder what life would be like if I just sat down and gave all of my time to Kahze Art and Furaffinity. What if I was releasing TF comics every week? Or even animations? For right now being a Full Time Furry is actually my choice and I am not going to pursue working for any other company other than Blizzard because I just happen to care allot about their games and their talent. But Blizzard aside, its time to be a full time furry!
I'm sitting here in North Carolina in a hotel about to attend the Bewhiskered convention tomorrow. I'll be doing artist alley there mainly to sell prints and take a few more commissions to do at home. Commission work has now been RESUMED, but I am CLOSED for any online commissions that aren't coming from this convention I am attending. I pretty much have enough to do at this point!
Hope all is well with everyone.

I'm a Full Time Furry now: Lot's of TF coming
Posted 3 years agoHey everyone, so I closed my game studio DreamSail Games and became a full time furry. CEO'ship was too stressful for me for allot of reasons. That said, I remain open for commissions and allot of transformation material is going to be submitted from here on out! Let me know if you want anything i'm still PWYW.
For those that have gotten a commission request from me in the past I will get to you I have you on a list, but it doesn't hurt to reach out again to show you are still interested.
I have a Kobold TF TG in the works called Kobold Karma. It is a pretty long (protogened size) medieval fantasy war comic between humans and kobolds and one Warrior, Vollen, gets afflicted with a kobold curse.
Anyway you will be seeing stuff from me soon.

Posted 3 years agoHey everyone I just finished my protogen tf tg comic and was thinking that I'm now down to make some more TF art now that my class has ended. I can balance TF comics and game work pretty well. If you're interested in a transformation of any kind please send me a note or drop a comment here or contact me on discord or telegram.
Hope everyone's doing well!

Game Development Update: The Haunting of Emoren
Posted 3 years agoHere is our latest gameplay video for our anthro indie rpg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjSrEaaEaKM This video features a level I put together using assets made by people on the team, a spirit sight mechanic, and an early look at combat.
We had a name change from The Haunting of Shuma to the Haunting of Emoren. It won't change again from here on out!
In other news, I am returning to finishing my protogen tf tg comic and i'm slowly working on finishing my animated short Skyfishy which some of you may have seen in the past. I'm planning on animating Tales of Anima afterwards instead of making a webcomic. We'll see how it goes. I will probably hire animators to do in-betweens so i'm not swamped with work.
Hope everyone's doing well and let me know what you think of our gameplay video!
