I would like to officially announce that I am enrolled in Western University's Bachelor of Education program, class of 2018 <3

In less fancy terms, I'm going to teacher's college next year ;P :)



I hope this doesn't come off as brag-y, but I'm unbelievably proud of myself. Maybe it's not medical school or nursing or anything like that, (I did briefly consider med school since I had the grades but that wasn't my dream lol) but coming from a family where women didn't even go to high school...I still remember how proud my mom was when I finished high school. She framed the diploma and hung it on the wall along side my brother's.

Now just a few short years later, I have two degrees and I'm about to start earning my BEd, and become a teacher like I've wanted to since I was 8 or 9 years old. This is my dream and it's finally starting to feel in reach!



And don't worry about my online presence. This changes nothing in that regard, I'll still be here, I'll still be making hats and doing my art thing and loving all of you guys <3 <3 <3 just much more excited for the future now!!! ^^ :'D

My birthday is November 27th. I've never gotten birthday art before.
In fact, I've never gotten any gift art unless it was through some kind of giveaway, and one time when someone took so long on a commission that they ended up not charging me. And I'm not saying I don't value the art I did get! I love every piece of artwork I get, even commissions. I'm just saying some surprise art just for me, without a catch, would be nice? :) So I figured what would make it easier for people than putting a journal with some links?

So for once, I end day one of my university year feeling very positive. None of my classes seem like an unbearable work load yet. I prefer having just a few projects worth more marks, over having constant assignments that are so hard to keep up with, and are worth nothing. It's easy to miss a few, and then they start adding up...



ANYWAY, I've made myself a few goals since it's my fourth and final year of my degree;
- sleep more (I sometimes got 3 hours of sleep a night, or less...)
- study harder (I studied enough previously, I just need to study harder. Which will be easier when I'm not always exhausted)
- go to more "optional/extra" class help (not always, just more)
- take care of myself more. I know everyone says they are busy, but I really...REALLY am. It is RARE that I will take even a few hours off for myself. Last year, I worked over Christmas without a single break. And I'm talking go-go-go from when I wake up, until I go to bed, And usually only slept 3-4.5 hours, 6 if I was lucky. Day after day. No end in sight. (plus occasionally dealing with angry customers that don't get their orders "fast enough," I'd have to stop sleeping entirely or drop out of school to do them faster!) I need to take time to refresh...mentally and physically. Take a few nights off every week. Take a day off at least once a month. I'm going insane!

Then I realized that I can't make time for these things out of thin air. For the past three years, if I need more time for something, I'd just sleep less lol but I need to sleep more so that's not an option. I need to take care or myself and I'm wearing myself too thin. So here goes...here's the announcement......





~~*~~*~~ I WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY MORE ORDERS, CRAFT OR DRAWING ONES, UNTIL SOME TIME IN 2015. LIKELY WILL REOPEN IN MARCH. ~~*~~*~~

For those of you who have already placed orders, they will still be finished at a regular time. But I've basically finished all my regular orders and just have custom orders to do. I usually work on regular orders and custom orders at the same time like they're two separate things, since custom orders take longer. I don't like making someone wait two months to get a hat I could make in a week because someone else ordered something complex. But now that I'm finishing up regular orders and not accepting any more, I'm not putting that extra work time into the custom orders. I will be continuing custom productions at a regular pace, and put that extra time into the things about.





PLUS MY BROTHER IS HAVING A BABY IN LESS THAN A WEEK AND IF HE WANTS TO COMMISSION ADORABLE BABY COSTUMES FROM ME, I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SAY YES!!!

As you can see, still busy, but normal busy. Doable busy. Not "I'm going to have a mental breakdown soon" busy.



Wow I'm so proud of myself. The ability to just look after myself is insane. I got home today, and said to myself, "I have 1.5 hours until I have to leave for that event I'm going to. What do I want to do for fun to refresh?" I can't even BEGIN to describe how good that felt. For the past 1.5 years at least, (probably more like 2.5) I would have come home after a tiring first day, and said, "only 1.5 hours until I have to leave, quick! How much sewing can I get done? HURRYYYYY!!!" I honestly feel like a queen, and my kingdom is my time, and my riches is being able to choose what to do with it.

You see, I couldn't afford to do this before, but I can now because OSAP is moving to give students a bit more money and with how well my business has been recently, I've managed to save up a bit too. I only hope that closing commissions for a while won't leave me back at square one, getting no orders, when I re-open...but even if that's the case, it'll be well worth it just to be human for the year, that's all I need to make me happy. Just a tiny bit of time to myself to remain sane, earn good grades, and sleep a normal amount (most of the time. School work might still take from my sleep sometimes but that's ok)

FINALLY!!!

IF I find myself in a financial jam and/or IF I have free time to do some more commissions, I will post a journal. Though the odds are, what I'll do is make a set of four Toothless hats and sell them as first come first serve. (rather than my usual made-to-order system) Honestly, if you REALLY want something, you should just ask. Because I do have some hats built up as extra stock. And you might just get lucky! Otherwise, I can put you on a list and contact you when I re-open so you're ahead of the rush.

But basically, it was awesome!!! I had a great time :D Drawing commissions wise, I sold four on site commissions which I will post later after I FINALLY get my butt around to finishing my challenge, and I sold 3 off site commissions that I will be doing over the next few weeks.

Crafts wise, I sold $215 worth of custom orders, as well as one Toothless order, which I will be making over the course of the next two months (custom orders take a long time) Add to that all of the on-site craft sales of things I pre-made and brought with me, and I'd say I did pretty good for this size of commission.

Actually, I expected more people. It was the last year this convention was running so I went thinking there would be 350-400 people. I don't think I'd ever do a convention this size again, I'd rather just go as an attendee if I really want to go, even if it is local. (and therefore, saves me hotel and travel cost) It's too small a profit for a whole weekend plus all of the time actually making the crafts, not to mention the cost of material and the cost of the actual con badge and table......I wouldn't do it again, but it was the last year and it was a lot of fun. And profit is profit, right? I'm not in the red and I had a great time and got to see friends I rarely see so that's what matters :)

To clarify, my last journal didn't mean I'm considering stopping the challenge I'm doing currently.

This is a reminder that I am selling hats and crafts at the convention, Anime North 2014. I haven't mentioned it in months, so I thought I should say something :) They gave me less than three weeks notice that I actually got a table...not much time to create!

So it's this weekend (May 23-25) and while I was originally hoping to finish my challenge before I go, I just can't, I just need my time to myself to prepare. Even though it's just four more days, I can't wrap it up quickly because it has two of the most time consuming days; "a group of monster girls" and "monster girl with her significant other."

So to AstralWolvine, Deaflores, TexasWildCat, elderwyrm, xRin-Sanx, Nereza, KuragariOokami, coren64, Royalwolfknight, KimmieFootman, GalaxyAlmiraVex, TheMostCasualOfClones, and Badass_Badger_Gal, I apologize for the delay but I need to get more crafts made. I know most of you will understand :) And if anyone doesn't...well, it's my time and I can use it how I want. The rules say don't rush me so just be patient.





I also wanted to ask if any of you guys are going to the con? I'm offering small free items for anyone who knows me from online if they come say hi at my Crafter's Corner table. It'll be something small like buttons or random volumes of random mangas.

Firstly, I wanted to say I'm sorry if this sounds petty or complaining, but I have to point this out...I'd be a lot more motivated to do more request if I had more support with it. I mean, I know I've been uploading a LOT of art, and I obviously don't expect anyone to comment or even view all or even most of it. But most of my uploads get 0 favs. And usually one person comments. Two or three if I'm really lucky.



It's really discouraging because I'm spending a LOT of time every single day to deliver this art for free and with the exception of 1 regular comment-er, I don't get anything. I don't mean to sound ungrateful for what I do get. But people kept telling me how great this community was and how supportive and friendly they are, yet I'm doing tons and tons of free stuff and Some of my best works get less than 5 favs, is this normal?



When I take requests, you know that EVERYONE gets something. Most people do raffles. Like hundreds of people write journals for them and they do three requests of their choosing. That's not even charity, they benefit as much as they give. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, but I feel bad doing that so I only want to do requests where everyone gets something but that means a lot of uploads. And if a lot of uploads means people don't bother to look at any of it, than that obviously means there's no reason I should do requests. People aren't even always happy or grateful for what I draw them which is discouraging too. And I do this to make people happy, it's a little backwards if I have to get a little down in the process.



I'm still going to do my chibi plush raffle, but that one is not free to enter. If things improve I will still do my other free requests after that but I didn't join fa to belch out tons of free art and get nothing out of it, I really was hoping for that community people talked about :( I'd love to get to know at least some of you guys

The good news is I'm back home because my aunt has been discharged. The bad news is, they still don't know what's wrong with her. Right now they have her on meds for what they thing it might be, but they said they're very unsure and the meds could take up to three weeks to take effect. So basically we have to wait it out and if nothing changes, we're back at square one. Though if she has to go back to the hospital, they actually told her she'll have to travel to me town (it's the closest larger town, with specialists) so I wont be leaving completely again, but I will be less present because of course, I'll ask if my cousin would like to stay with me so she can visit her mom without having to find a ride into town and back.



I have other things to catch up on, so today I will be scanning my uploads that I took pics of with my phone, and responding to SOME comments and notes. I'll try to get to some replies, but I'll have to wait and see how long everything takes.



I can't thank you enough for those who commented!!! I told my aunt I had some people online sending her well wishes and prayers, and she was very flattered. She's kind of way behind the times in terms of technology so knowing there were people all over the world thinking of her was pretty mind blowing. My aunt has fallen ill and is in the hospital. She's been there for a few days now, but they can't figure out what's causing the problem. (a dangerously low platelet count) So I'm going to go stay with my cousin (her daughter) because she's taking it pretty rough, being home alone and worrying.



I'll still be working on my challenge (because I sleep way less than any sane person, and have nothing else to do while my cousin is asleep) but I wont be able to upload them. When I get home I will put up a new journal, and scan and upload everything.



There's no way to know for sure, but I think my aunt will be ok, she's in good care now and they can keep supplying her with platelets until they find out what's killing them in her body. Any well wishes or prayers are highly appreciated.

I’m doing that super cool 30 Day Monster Girl Challenge, but I’m doing multiple works for each day. I will do one original design, potentially fan art, and up to three requests per day of the challenge. Most requests will be sketches, but you never know what you might get :D





Don't feel like you can't get something because you don't have zombie OCs or something like that; as long as you have a non-human female OC she'll fit in somewhere! Just ask. There are places like True Monster, Dragon/Reptile Girl, Canine/Feline Girl, Favorite Monster Girl, A Group of Monster Girls Together, and Celebrate Monster Girls! where I can fit in whatever species I want.



There aren't many rules, so please read them. (or I might ignore your requests) Also, I’m only taking the max of three requests per #/type of monster girl. So popular ones might fill up, but I’m sure many will stay empty.



I will NOT be doing one every day of the month. I plan to start Day 1 on April 9th, and I plan to finish all 30 days by May 21st the latest. Its exam time, and I’m doing this to
re-sharpen my skills and improve my time, not stress myself out or make myself way too busy.
