So, in the interest of moving forward and expanding my knowledge/skill base of all things, I will be looking into the market for a digital art tablet.

However before i do i would like to get the input of fellow artists on why they use whatever tablets and software that they do. Decisions on these things need to include features and pricing, as well as shopping deals from various retailers (as i am a broke college student).

Please don't start a console war in the comments, please just state your opinions and reasons and keep it civil.

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated, and if it helps to know, the computer i will be using is my MacbookPro, running the latest version of SnowLeopard (yes i know it's out of date but i like it better)

So today I turned 22 years old, and for my birthday the universe gave me a new start. I'm moved out of my parents house (in a manner of speaking) and living on a university campus in a new town where nobody knows my name... for now.
And I'm okay with this. It's time for the hard work t begin, and with that comes new responsibilities and new opportunities.

Okay, so, I've been reading a lot over the past month, primarily Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series, and I finally got my hands on "A Memory of Light" (book 14 of the Wheel of Time series).

The whole book was a page turner, as expected from the final volume. The last few chapter in particular had me freaking out, heart broken, scared, and crying tears of joy and sadness.

A few implications were left int the last couple of pages for things that could possibly be written about in a new series, but I doubt the Brandon Sanderson has any true intentions to continue Jordan's work like that. It's very possible that Robert Jordan wanted his story to end in a way that was free to interpretation, purely for the enjoyment of the reader.

If any of you have already read this series, please feel free to send me a note so that I can have someone to discuss this with. Seriously, none of the people I know in real life read these, it's a bit soul-crushing.

If you haven't read these books, go get them. Like right now. "Eye of the World" is volume one.

And get ready for a story that will change your life.

So, a lot of people have mixed feelings about this time of year. The joy of Holidays, the pain of loneliness, the company of relatives, the music, the gifts, the cold, the stress... just emotions running rampant.

Personally, I love this. Music is a huge part of my life. As I have stated once before, "Sometimes I can feel the music resonating with my soul." Christmas music, I can understand, gets old very quickly. The place I work at has played Christmas carols since Black Friday, as I'm sure every other store and radio station has too.
I ask that you guys ignore the over-hyped, retail oriented aspects of the Holidays, and reflect on the effects the ideals this time of year has to offer.

It gets cold outside. Regardless of your feelings about being cold, you have to admit there is something about the idea of looking outside a frozen window pane, while sitting back wrapped in a fluffy blanket with a steaming mug of coffee/tea/hot coco. That feeling of walking inside and having the warmth rush back into your cheeks after being in the biting wind.

Friends and family might drift apart to do their own things to celebrate (or not celebrate), but you know that they mean something to you in a way words can't describe. Gifts are over commercialized for an expression of affection. So whether you can't afford to get someone a gift, or can't think of what they could possibly need, just be near them and let them know how much you care about them. Presence is the best present.

I may have gone off on a random tangent there... meh.

Anyway, I hope you all are having a wonderful winter so far, and I'll be checking back in with you when Christmas is here to spread the love ^w^
