They both use Recaptcha to prevent automated registrations.
Google currently operates Recaptcha.
Chinese ISPs doesn't like Google very much.
Result: It's not possible for a furry in China to register for Weasyl or Inkbunny directly :(
If you wondered why you don't see them very often, that's one of the reasons. (But they exist! )

I'm going to stay at home and rest, not doing anything. Although knowing myself, sooner or later I'd be out home for some reason... and then just spend the whole day outside.
At least I'll get some nice photos about it.

我准备在家休息，什么都不干。虽然按照我的习惯，迟早会因为某种原因出门……然后在外面呆一天。
至少最后还有些照片留念吧。

General | Posted 11 years ago2月底在上海有一个名为ComicUp的同人贩售会，和上次十月份的Y3在同一个地方。
我准备带着兽装在周六那天去；在Y3 柴犬兽装受到大欢迎，但是由于是秋天，而且场地没有空调，所以没能坚持很长时间就走了。希望这次能够呆得更长一些。
不知道有没有上海的兽友一起去的呢？其实我认识的中国兽友并不多，也不知道他们聚集在什么地方…咳咳，该是做自我介绍的时候了。
There is an anime fair (doujin/fanzine vending event) in Shanghai called Comicup, happening at the end of February this year.
I plan to bring my fursuit there on Saturday; the shibaken was very welcomed at Y3, which happened at the same location last October, but because air conditioning wasn't on, I couldn't stay very long in the autumn heat. I hope this time I can be better prepared!

希望下个月至少能找出时间写点什么吧。

④ Review: Guardians of the Galaxy 银河护卫队观后感
General | Posted 11 years agoWent to watch the Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday. I've watched Captain America and The Avengers before, but for this movie I'm mostly watching because of Rocket and Goot. Yet Marvel does not disappoint; this movie is every bit as enjoyable as others in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
昨天去看了银河护卫队。之前看过前作《美国队长》和《复仇者联盟》，但这次主要是去看火箭和格鲁特的。结果这部电影并不比那两部差；漫威出品，必为精品。
Rocket was an interesting character. He might be tiny, furry and having a tail, but he is no friendly saturday morning cartoon; make no mistake, this guy's a veteran and a wild beast at heart.
火箭是个有意思的角色。虽然他不高，毛绒绒还有尾巴，但他可不是什么可爱的小动物；这家伙有一身历经沙场的经验和一颗野兽的心。
Many talked about how all Groot can speak is "I am Groot", so I expected to hear a lot of it in the movie. Turns out he's a person of a few words, only speaking up occasionally, but his grunts can be very expressive. His personality is better displayed in actions. Kudos to the writers and animators for bringing these two extraordinary characters to life.
许多人都在说格鲁特的台词只有“我是格鲁特”五个字，所以我原以为会听到很多次。结果他竟然沉默寡言，只是时不时嗯啊一下。
This isn't to say the humanoid main characters are boring. It took them the half of the movie to stop fighting each other for the orb, and start taking on the villains as a team. The villains were memorable, too. Even though Ronan only directly crosses the protagonists' path twice in the movie, he's clearly established to be a powerful murderous sociopath.
我不是说剩下的主角就很无聊——电影的一半都在讲主角如何从互相争斗的对手成为同仇敌忾的搭档。同时，《银河护卫队》也塑造了印象深刻的反面角色。虽然罗南和主角直接会面仅有两次，他作为一位强大的杀人狂的影响力却一直可以感到。
Among the minor characters, Nova Prime, the commander of the Nova Corps, really stands out. TVTropes calls her a "cool old lady", and for good reason. Being the head of a planet's defence force, she maintains a calm demeanor, even when the planet is under assault. Plus, she's dressed in a kick-butt uniform.
次要角色中 Nova Prime 算是英姿飒爽的老奶奶，作为星球防卫部队的总指挥官，即使大敌在前，她也从容不乱。并且那身制服帅呆了。
The music was also enjoyable - the soundtrack features many 70's hits by way of the main character's mixtape; it makes me want to dance. The locations were also visually impressive.
音乐也相当动听——主角一直在听的随身听，许多70年代美国最热门的音乐，让我想要跳舞。各个场景也都具有视觉震撼力。
Guardians of the Galaxy is shown in China with English dialogue and Chinese subtitles. I expected the subtitles to be bad (okay, not "backstroke of the west" bad) but it turns out to be just... kinda meh, really. It's mostly accurate, but some of the coarse language have been toned down. (Which is why it wasn't dubbed, I guess.) The subs did have Chinese slang, but it didn't feel as snappy as the original dialog.
银河护卫队在中国上映的时候是英文配音，中文字幕。观看前听说字幕质量不好 (还没有《西斯的反击》翻译成 “西方仰泳” 那么糟糕) ；观后感觉算是……马马虎虎。基本上翻译准确，但是有些原版是粗话的地方，中文用了一些没那么强力的俗语，总觉得没有原文有味道。
Also, the Chinese subtitle font is pretty much the equivalent of Times Roman. Which looked rather awkward in a space opera, especially with the futuristic font in the opening credits. The subtitles are also a little distracting, but I suppose that's just how subtitles are.
另外，中文字幕居然用的是宋体。对于这种太空肥皂剧用一本正经的字体，实在是不得其解。和开头工作人员列表未来风格的英文字体形成了强大反差。另外字幕有一些烦人，但是字幕都是这样的吧。
As an addendum, the movie is shown in China as "Galaxy Guard Team", which is a pretty close translation. In Taiwan it's translated as "Interplanetary Special Attack Team", and this is the name TVTropes quotes. I don't know where they got that name from... Must be the same people who translated Final Fantasy as "Space Warriors" (not making this up).
最后说一下，台湾把片名翻译成“星际特攻队”，而 TVTropes 说这是中文的翻译。我真不知道这是怎么翻出来的，一定是把 “最终幻想” 翻译成 “太空战士” (确有其事) 的原班人马。

③ Night owls, code monkeys, and siege lions.
General | Posted 11 years agoToday I want to talk about a few words that are curiously similar between English and Chinese, and one word that is just curious.
In English, we tend to call people who are active late into the night, night owls. In parts of China, (small) owls are called 夜猫子 yèmaōzi, literally “night catty”. (I don't know which parts of China would that be, but I guess it's northern China.) More often, it's figuratively used to refer to people who stay up late - the same as English night owls. The Contemporary Chinese Dictionaryalso offers another word for late sleepers: 夜游神, literally “nigh-roaming god”, refers people who wander at night.
英语中对晚上还在活动的人叫做 night owls 夜猫头鹰。中国某地的方言 (北方吧？) 管猫头鹰叫做 “夜猫子”，也用来指晚上很晚睡觉的人——和英文night owls 一样。对这种人，现代汉语词典记载了另外一个可以用的词：夜游神，比喻晚上游荡的人。
Also in English, you might know people who program as “code monkeys”, invoking the image of a million monkeys banging on the keyboard. (Wiktionary editor Equinox notes this word is “slang, sometimes derogatory”. Of course, it can also be used self-deprecatingly.) Chinese has the perfect translation for this phrase: 程序猿 chéngxùyúan, pronounced exactly the same as 程序员 chéngxùyúan “programmer”. However, instead of using the character 员, that marks a person's occupation or membership, as in 驾驶员 driver, 服务员 server or 演员 actor, instead the character for apes, 猿, is used, making it “programmape”. (Well, humans are apes...)

Sometimes typos also make new words: one jocular name for engineers is 攻城狮 gōngchéngshī “fortress-attacking lion” or “siege lion”, again having the exact pronunciation as 工程师 gōngchéngshī “engineer”. The story is like this: Tencent is the company that developed the hugely popular IM program QQ (800 million users) and WeChat (300 million users - about the total population of United States) among other services. One of its microblog accounts posted that one of its security guards managed to go through rounds of interviews, and became an engineer at its research institute. A rare event in itself, and a notable accomplishment indeed. But instead of 工程师, the post coined the word 攻城狮, or siege lion. And the rest is Internet history.

②Chinese National Week, and other holiday-shifting weirdne

十月一日是中华人民共和国国庆日。
In the United States and Canada, statuary holidays like this tend to be on Mondays and Fridays, which creates a "long weekend". The National Day in China, however, is a little different. The whole country do no work for a whole week! Many take vacations, so people call this the "golden week". As a result, the tourist spots become crammed with people, expressways get congested from one end to another, and plane tickets sell out (I don't know how are the trains doing). Hardly a way to take a relaxing vacation.
在美国和加拿大，这样的法定假日大多都在周一和周五，这样的安排创建了“长周末”。但中国国庆有些不一样。举国上下一周七天全部放假！许多人会去旅游，所以人们称这是“黄金周”。于是，旅游点看到挤满的人山人海，高速公路从一端堵车堵到另一端，而订机票也成了不可能的任务 (我不知道铁路那边怎么样)。完全没有放松的假日。
But the National Day is only a 3-day statuary holiday, so how is it possible that everybody takes a week-long vacation? The keyword here is "transferred holidays": weekends that are swapped with days in the "golden week". The State Council publishes a notice every year (like this one for 2014), deciding which rest days are swapped with which working days. Then add another weekend that would fall inside the golden week, and tada! You get a 7-day holiday.
但国庆法定只放三天假，怎么会所有人连休七天呢？这里的关键字是 “调休”：用平常的周末，与黄金周中的工作日对调。国务院每年会发布一份通知，决定哪些休息天与工作日对调。再加上黄金周里本来就有的周末，连休七天的假期就这么产生了！
The drawback is of course, you still need to work these two days transferred out. Before 2014, that means working 7 days in a row. Even for students, that's tiring. For 2014, the days are shifted from a week before and a week after, so only two weeks of working 6 days in a row.
当然，调出去的那两天还是要工作的。2014年之前这意味着有七天要不休息连轴转。即使是学生，一周下来也精疲力尽。2014年调休，是从前一周和后一周各调一天，所以只要两周连续工作六天就好。
The same holiday transfer is also applied to the Spring Festival, which is like Christmas in that it's a traditional time for family gatherings; applied to a country that has as many people as China, this results in even bigger traffic every year. Before 2007 this is also applied to the International Labor Day on May the 1st; after 2007, Labor Day is no longer a 7-day holiday. Instead, three traditional Chinese holidays are now designated as new statuary holidays (Qingming, Dragon Boat, and Mid-Autumn festivals). For 2014, all three fall between Friday and Monday, making these also "long weekends".
调休不止在国庆，也对春节使用；春节有些像圣诞节，两个都算是传统的合家团聚的节日。对于有中国这样人口众多的国家，其结果就是春运。2007 年之前，在五一国际劳动节也调休 (美国、加拿大的劳动节在九月份)。2007 年之后，五一不再休整周，而将清明、端午和中秋，设成新的法定假日。2014 年，这三个节日都在周五和周一之间，中国也有了自己的 “长周末”。
In the three holidays, the Dragon Boat festival and the Mid-Autumn festival are based on the traditional Chinese calendar, in which every month is 30 days; so the dates on the Gregorian calendar fluctuates each year. (Instead of leap days, the traditional calendar has leap months.) But the Qingming festival is always April 4th or April 5th; this is because it's observed 15 days after the Spring Equinox, and the Gregorian calendar is designed to track the seasons, and the Spring Equinox in particular very accurately.

New glasses!
General | Posted 11 years agoGot new glasses yesterday. They are -1.75, Nearly the same prescription as my last pair of glasses, which are -1.50 and -1.75, but without astigmatism correction this time.
昨天拿到了新眼镜。度数是175，和我上次的眼镜度数150/175基本一样，但是新眼镜没有矫正散光。
The new frame (okay, it's one of these "frameless" styles) is harder than the old one, which should stop the glass from deforming and sliding off my nose. The lens are Canon-branded asphrical lens, and are kind of pricey. Hopefully they would last a while, as long as I remember donning and doffing with both hands.

Then after picking up the glasses we went to Nici. They are a German brand of plushies, where I got my fox pencil case. They also have their own take on My Little Pony G4 plushies. And very adorable snow leopard slippers and messenger bags, although the bags aren't very practical. Then to IKEA to see chairs. Ended up buying a bunch of unrelated stuff of course, including a pepper grinder.

After being in Shanghai for the summer, I've just arrived in Ottawa last Friday.
But I won't be staying for long this time, it would only be a little more than two weeks as I clean up the apartment for sub-letting.
I'll be living in Shanghai for the next year. Then I would come back to Canada, hopefully to finish my degree. I wouldn't have much free time outside of Saturdays, and probably not even then.
For now though, I'm in Ottawa, and very much intend to stop by at the Thursday meets and say hi to everybody! If you don't live in Ottawa, add me on Skype/Steam/Twitter/WeChat. Keep in touch!

General | Posted 12 years agoBack in China, meeting parents, grandparents and family, and being generally busy.
Shanghai has changed so much in two years. Not the very least are my grandparents, who all seem suddenly much older.
My parents are also trying to share as much advice as they could in my admittedly short stay here. It's a lot of advice, to he honest. Almost as much as the amount of technobabble I'm giving them.
Grandma's old Yamaha synth keyboard, I just found out, has a toy piano voice. It sounds so nice.
Can't get onto Twitter, so that's why I've been quiet over there.
I'm set to be back in Canada after Christmas. I miss you all.

Drink — break between every half an hour, and drink a glass of water. So no headaches, no flu, and no con crud this year!
I'm still disappointed that at fur cons, people stay up late and sleep in, so there aren't much stuff happening in the mornings.

This year What The Fur has moved to Delta Centre-ville. The bad is it's a large, expensive hotel, so there are many other guests staying. Also, the convention floor is underground and completely lacking in natural light, so photography is hard. The good is that the convention floor is spacious, and has a hub-and-spoke arrangement, so it's easy to find and mingle with people. Also, there are many other guests staying, including families, tourists, and engineering students here for the annual concrete canoe competition (seriously)!
今年What The Fur 移动到了Delta Centre-ville. 不好的地方是这是个大型酒店，价格不菲，其他宾客也很多。另外，整个会议中心在地下二层，完全没有自然光，所以照相难。好处是会议中心面积很大，并且呈放射性排列，所以很容易和大家打成一片。另外，其他宾客也很多，包括家庭、游客、以及来这里参加每年的混凝土划艇比赛的工程系学生们 (真的) !
（How spacious is the convention floor? Every year in January, the very same hotel plays host to CUSEC, the Canadian University Software Engineering Conference. This year, 12 universities in Canada have have sent delegations, each having about a bus full of attendees. And 18 organizations set up tables at the career fair after lunches.

Spent a bit of time today playing with the photo raw files, but it just takes too much effort for little gain.

And I've finally got around to say something about the first Furry Convention I've been to in almost a year and a half!

anime conventions, and they have very awesome people as well, but it's just not the same...
自2011年的Condition：Red之后一年半没有去过兽展之后(动漫展虽然强人很多，但是毕竟不一样)按耐不住决定去了
多伦多的Furnal Equinox。今天终于有机会写一下回顾了。
Unfortunately I had a cold that week, so I couldn't be fursuiting on Friday. That said I took the time to take some photos,
which are on Flickr if you haven't seen them! And also this time I finally got to hear one of
Nuka-kitty's lectures sessions panels on furry psychology in full. Because SCIENCE! And of course
the improv night was hilarious, especially with Nuka in fursuit. Almost braved and went in fursuit too, but I decided to
make sure not to overexert myself.
不行的是去之前感冒了，所以周五没有机会穿兽装。不过趁这个机会照了些照片，传到了Flickr上，没看的话赶快去看。 （很
抱歉，Flickr在大陆不能正常访问。）另外，终于能够从头到尾地听一次Nuka 的兽控心理学讲座了。(国内动漫展好像没有讲
座的样子?)科学万岁！还有晚上的即兴表演，笑翻天笑死人不偿命～特别是当Nuka穿兽装上去的时候!
(今年第二次感冒参加展会了，怎么回事啊。）

Woke to an early start on Saturday and fursuited as much as I can. The sponsor pizza party was cool, although the
first batch of pizza was a bit stale (later batches are fine) and I can't decide which table to sit at. Did a little fursuit dance
then went to bed.
周六早晨提早起床，尽可能地多穿兽装。升级到赞助者级别彻底发挥作用了:早饭是赞助者休息室的火鸡三明治，午饭是赞
助者休息室的火鸡三明治，晚上是赞助者休息室的匹萨派对……不过第一批匹萨有点潮了(后面几批都没问题). 晚上稍微
跳了一下舞就睡觉了。
On Sunday I went to watch the dance competition. I could still hardly believe that this is the first time Furnal Equinox
hosted a dance competition, and the first time almost all the contestants are participating! (And almost all of them didn't
sleep or eat much...) All 9 of them are full of energy and rhythm, and their performance are very fun to watch, as well
as full of surprises! Especially the first place
snapback, who built their own suit and is just as adorable as an otter
can ever be; yet on the dance floor, she is a force to be reckoned with. Kudos to all the participants - the Original Nine
Crew!
周日早晨去观看了舞蹈比赛。记忆已经模糊，但忘不了的是参赛的九位兽装穿着者，每个都那么充满了活力和激情。真不能
想象这都是他们第一次参加舞蹈比赛 (而且大多都没吃饭没睡觉)，也不能想象这是第一次 FE 举办舞蹈比赛……特别要提
一下的是第一名 Snapback, 平常是再可爱不过的小水獭，一到舞池就成为一股不可抗拒的力量。而且ta的兽装是自己做
的，这家伙有多厉害?!这里再次对所有参赛者致敬!
The con wasn't as exciting as I thought, as a whole, and perhaps it's because the novelty has worn off, or perhaps
because I was too worried about school; but nevertheless it was full of highlights!
总体来说这次兽展没有像想象当中的那么刺激，也许是新奇感已经退去，也许是太担心学习；但是仍然有许多精彩的瞬间，
值得回忆……
A lot of time was spent at the sponsor lounge eating and mingling. Food at the sponsor lounge is simple, but the turkey
sandwich was okay and at least I didn't go hungry. But I did not eat much and moved a lot, so I lost a kilogram (2-3
pounds) during the convention. It would have been even better to have someone to go together to Tim Hortons for
breakfast, but I don't know any people who sleep and wake early at fur cons...
这次到FE, 很多时间在赞助者休息室吃东西聊天。休息室供应的食品很简单，但是火鸡三明治还凑合，至少没饿着肚子。不
过我吃的不多，动得很多，所以整个兽展瘦了一公斤。如果早晨有人能陪我一起去 Tim Hortons 吃早饭就好了，不过我不认
识谁在兽展那么早就起床的……
(题外话:2011年去AC的时候每天早晨卡库尔第一个醒来，吃完早饭带回房间一盒子甜甜圈。）

I just get excited to finally see in the fur like flowkitty. And then there are new faces like Kelsey(

Woke to an early start on Saturday and fursuited as much as I can. The sponsor pizza party was cool, although the
first batch of pizza was a bit stale (later batches are fine) and I can't decide which table to sit at. Did a little fursuit dance
then went to bed.

On Sunday I went to watch the dance competition. I could still hardly believe that this is the first time Furnal Equinox
hosted a dance competition, and the first time almost all the contestants are participating! (And almost all of them didn't
sleep or eat much...) All 9 of them are full of energy and rhythm, and their performance are very fun to watch, as well
as full of surprises! Especially the first place
snapback, who built their own suit and is just as adorable as an otter can ever be; yet on the dance floor, she is a force to be reckoned with. Kudos to all the participants - the Original Nine
Crew!
周日早晨去观看了舞蹈比赛。记忆已经模糊，但忘不了的是参赛的九位兽装穿着者，每个都那么充满了活力和激情。真不能
想象这都是他们第一次参加舞蹈比赛 (而且大多都没吃饭没睡觉)，也不能想象这是第一次 FE 举办舞蹈比赛……特别要提
一下的是第一名 Snapback, 平常是再可爱不过的小水獭，一到舞池就成为一股不可抗拒的力量。而且ta的兽装是自己做
的，这家伙有多厉害?!这里再次对所有参赛者致敬!
The con wasn't as exciting as I thought, as a whole, and perhaps it's because the novelty has worn off, or perhaps
because I was too worried about school; but nevertheless it was full of highlights!
总体来说这次兽展没有像想象当中的那么刺激，也许是新奇感已经退去，也许是太担心学习；但是仍然有许多精彩的瞬间，
值得回忆……
A lot of time was spent at the sponsor lounge eating and mingling. Food at the sponsor lounge is simple, but the turkey
sandwich was okay and at least I didn't go hungry. But I did not eat much and moved a lot, so I lost a kilogram (2-3
pounds) during the convention. It would have been even better to have someone to go together to Tim Hortons for
breakfast, but I don't know any people who sleep and wake early at fur cons...

Amico and blondiepup, some I didn't expect to see like Zanni (therian). Some people I just get excited to finally see in the fur like flowkitty. And then there are new faces like Kelsey(
karlounichou) (finally I get to see a

Some things to improve next con: take more photos, post more on Twitter, practice fursuit movements before con,
mingle with non-fursuiters more, drink more water, and DON'T STAY IN FURSUIT for all of the dance competition. (I
was highly dehydrated on Sunday and came back home with a headache! Buying a sport drink at the bus rest
stop helped, though.) A final regret is haven't bought the "Blueper" hand puppet. (Practically 20% off if you figure in shipping!)

The Reboot Loops of Galaxy Nexus
General | Posted 13 years agoLast night when I was eating out with friends, my phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) restarted itself during use. Since it has been doing that for a while, I didn't think too much of it. But on my way back home I noticed the phone would restart after just a few minutes of usage, sometimes even stuck in a "reboot loop" where it would restart before the boot sequence is completed.
昨天晚上和朋友出去吃饭的时候我的电话 (三星Galaxy Nexus) 用到一半自己重新启动了。因为这样子不止是一天两天了，也就没在意。但是回家的时候手机开始用几分钟就重新启动一次，有时候甚至会不停重启。
After searching for similar occurrences, several attempts to reproduce the problem (under the assumption of a misbehaving app), and detours involving safe mode and recovery mode, I noticed in a forum post about Galaxy Nexus tips on xda-developers mentioned finding and posting LAST_KMSG (the Linux kernel message log from last boot) for trouble shooting. Since I already had Android SDK installed, I pulled the message log using adb. Normal apps shouldn't trigger reboots, so the kernel log will likely offer more clues as to where the problem is.
搜索相似情况之后，找了多次哪个程序是罪魁祸首之后，数次切换安全模式之后，我注意到 xda-developers 论坛上一条置顶消息中提到哪里可以找到 LAST_KMSG (Linux 内核最后一次启动时的消息日志)。因为我正好已经安装了 Android 软件开发包 ，我用了 adb 从设备上取得了消息日志。
Caution: Saving the log (or full device backup or bug report) in the same directory as adb and then updating Android SDK, may delete your saved log (or backup)! It's good to backup, but save your backup somewhere else.
注意： 将消息日志(或错误报告，或设备备份)保存在 adb 所在的目录之后更新 Android 软件开发包，可能会删除你保存的内容！ 备份是好事，但是请保存在别的地方。
While at first I was misled by the "no errors detected" message at the end, as well as the stack trace there, soon I understood that the problem has to do with not able to write internal storage leading to file system not able to maintain consistency, causing the reboot:

Since I can't replace the internal storage, I sent it back to the carrier (Wind Mobile) today for repairs. It should take up to three weeks for (in-warranty) repair. (Unlike Dell's out-of-warranty repair, which returned the computer in only one week!) The store rented me a LG Optimus 2X for $10, which is a pretty cool phone actually.

This isn't the first time I had a problem with failing storage. Back when my Nexus One still had a working power button, the memory card corrupted, leading to some interesting pictures. And my XPS laptop went through two failed hard drives.

Considering the underlying causes of the reboot, the general advice (and my first reflex) of resetting the device would likely only result in temporary relief.

This still leaves two other questions. Even though I only had the device for 4 months, it can take a long time for apps to respond, especially with Google Search. I always thought it may be because beginning in Android 4+, user-accessible data is stored together with system files and data, but could it have been a sign that the storage is failing? Also, would a file system check help any in this occasion?

Since I can't replace the internal storage, I sent it back to the carrier (Wind Mobile) today for repairs. It should take up to three weeks for (in-warranty) repair. (Unlike Dell's out-of-warranty repair, which returned the computer in only one week!) The store rented me a LG Optimus 2X for $10, which is a pretty cool phone actually.

This isn't the first time I had a problem with failing storage. Back when my Nexus One still had a working power button, the memory card corrupted, leading to some interesting pictures. And my XPS laptop went through two failed hard drives.

Considering the underlying causes of the reboot, the general advice (and my first reflex) of resetting the device would likely only result in temporary relief.

This still leaves two other questions. Even though I only had the device for 4 months, it can take a long time for apps to respond, especially with Google Search. Also, would a file system check help any in this occasion?

What kind of feetpaws do you have? Do they have padding? Are they shoe-based or slipper-based? Are they indoor paws or outdoor paws? What kind of sole material do they use?
I'm thinking of having my fursuit maker make a pair of feetpaws to complete my fursuit. He usually uses anti-fatigue mats on the bottom of the paws. I'm a little worried they might slip on wet surfaces.
There are proper shoe sole sheets available (for example, Vibram makes some), but they cost more and are harder to find.
Also pondering if I should get padding on the lower legs. They look nice, but are harder to carry around.

We recommend that if you have a con-badge or id badge with your fursona on it that you bring it along and wear it. It’ll make it easier to identify everyone.
We expect there to be no fursuits at the brunch portion of this event unless you’re bringing say hand-paws, foot-paws, ears, tails (small pieces) for “show and tell” and you keep it rather discrete. Not everyone is comfortable being around people in fur suits and this is our way of not “outing” them as a fur. However, the park portion of the meet welcomes and encourages fursuits. At the park non fursuiters are encouraged to bring cameras to take photos!
