Where will you be most of the time during the days?
At panels. On friday evening I'll mostly be in Int'l A, Sunday you'll probably find me in New York. When I'm not in panels, you'll find me roaming around the corridors. You're more likely to find me in the morning before the panels start!

What/where will you be eating?
I don't know. I'll figure out when I get there!

Can I come with you for food/fun etc?
I don't have much to offer... but sure.

Can I look in your sketchbook?
I don't draw, so there's nothing in my sketchbook, but sure.

Why am I going to cons? I should be schoolworking! Bleh~ I hope this would make me energized for work though.

Sorry for the journal spam, but are anyone in Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal able to offer a ride to Midwest Furfest?

So I came back home to find a slip of paper under my door, informing my house will be steamed because of a bedbug problem. I had an experience with a bedbug infestation two years ago, and it was an ordeal. The landlord called someone to apply insecticides, but bedbugs are highly resilient creatures, and seems like they have been found somewhere else in the building. So this time, they are applying hot steam to the house, which is the sure fire way to eliminate bedbugs, because they cannot survive the heat. For this reason, all the clothes have to be dried on high heat as well.

Which poses a problem for fursuits, as the fake fur and foam can be badly damaged by the high heat. So, what should I do to clean the fursuit, and is it necessary? What I plan to do now is put the fursuit in a bag and shelf it before I find a way, but that's only a stopgap measure before I find a treatment.

I'm also worried about my other stuff, like electronics, two shelves of books, plushies, and a self-inflating mattress. Any advice will be grately appreciated.

The house is set to be steamed on Wednesday and we just got the notice today. Which means I have tomorrow to dry every clothing I have, including the ones that aren't to be dried. It's also the week for midterms; I have two, and a chemistry lab to prepare for. To top it off, I lost a fursuit handpaw on the bus and has to check the lost and found. So good.

*whimper*

This is to remind that I'm planning a fursuit park meet on the 17th, less than one week from now!

Also, is there any Toronto furies who are willing to let me sleep at their home on the night of Sunday the 25th? I'm going to Toronto for schoolwork from the 22nd to the 25th, but I would like to stay a bit longer. The youth hostels downtown seems to be a very nice place, but that isn't very fun.

So because I got bored waiting for other people to plan fursuit meets, I decided to plan a fursuit meet myself.

Activity: Meet fellow furries, relax in the park, have a good time!
Location: Downtown Ottawa. War Memorial, Byward Market, Major Hill's park and environs.
Date/Time: Saturday, September 17th 2011. 12h30-17h30.
Reason: We haven't had a public furmeet for a while.

We'll gather at the war memorial around 12h30 (be sure to eat lunch/brunch before this). After people arrive we'll walk around the market a bit before heading to the park and play there until around 17h (that's 5pm). Then we'll go to the Rideau Center food court for noms!

Fursuits, tails, etc are more than welcome! But even if you don't have one - that's okay too! Do note that fursuit heads must be taken off in Rideau Centre. Bring your cameras, frisbees, volley balls, and whatnot!

In case of bad weather the meetup will be held on the next week.

Posed in front of a mirror?
It's a must! For a fursuiter it's hard to judge your performances without seeing them from the outside. I didn't realize I had my head looking downwards all AC until I looked in the mirror. I've also very often just go in front of the mirror and enjoy my fursuit's irrestible cuteness. "Who's a good puppy? Who's a good puppy? I'm a good puppy! I'm a good puppy!" I blame this akita. 那是一定要的啦！作为兽装穿着者不用从外面看而评判自己的表现是一件难事。直到照镜子之前我都没有意识到自己整个AC都在低头。我也经常会到镜子之前什么都不干就是享受我的兽装的无法抗拒的可爱。“谁是只好狗狗啊？谁是只好狗狗啊？我是只好狗狗！我是只好狗狗！”这都要责怪那只秋田犬 (YouTube链接)。(后来这只重做过了:YouTube链接)

Been shopping/to a supermarket/store in fursuit?
Subway and Macs (convienence store). As for supermarkets, naw. The local mall forbids masks, and I fear some venues would have the same policy. Plus, I'd rather not have somebody filming me and add a creepy sound track saying "he wants to live his animal life so much, he would not take his costume off."

Nevah. I've been fursuiting with a group on Canada day, but that's like a mini-parade than actual group suiting.

With my hometown, Shanghai, 11337 kilometres (7044 miles) away from Ottawa, it's a little bit difficult... But it will be done, someday.

Fursuited at a con? If so, how many times?
I bought this fursuit on impulse at AC2011; wore all Saturday and Sunday. Also at Condition:Red (2011). Not as much as at AC, but definitely more than my roommate who barely fursuited at all.

I want to resell this fursuit later, so no eating. Plus, this fursuit isn't that good for eating; the mouth is glued on the sides.

Yeah, lots of water, but no beverages, because my plastic water pouchs will need cleaning if I put beverages in it. Oh, you mean alchohol? I don't drink alchohol. If I need my self-restraint turned off, I just put on my fursuit. In a few moments it would be like I have drank alchohol.

Put on someone else's fursuit?
It is my ambition to wear every fursuit in the world (that fits). To date, I have tried on 7 fursuits that I don't own: Zets (head only),  Prefectionist's,  Windrunner,  ~BlueMoon, head swap with  Clouwy,  Amico (first time wearing a full fursuit), and a fursuiter who probably would not prefer to be mentioned (his bodysuit is done, but he's still looking for a good maker to build his head). In addition, I swapped my fursuit for  Shekka's fursona cosplay.

I have walked around in AC with my head off for quite a long time. As for the general public, I took my head off when a group of children at a park demanded it, as mentioned above.

I fursuited on a Greyhound bus once, way back from AC2011. (Some passenger asked “are you one of those people on CSI” -.-) And also a few times on local buses both in Prefectionist's and my own

I used to pounce people before I even had a fursuit! I did try to pounce someone in suit (make sure to approach the suiter from the -front- if you do this), but I forgot what happened next.

Most of them are afraid of me. But the group who demanded me take my head off were ectastic.

Wouldn't last three seconds. I should try learning streetdancing like breaking, or even better, para para. Next year's Anthrocon is themed “A Midsummer Night's Dream”. Perhaps someone should go and do non-street (tango, ballet, etc.) dancing.

Never had a group as large as street jugglers. Aformentioned group that demanded my head off was the largest group.

I had people who watched CSI but they mostly just find me cute, if a bit kinky. However at Condition:Red, there was a child being carried, who enjoyed seeing me. But when I tried to apporach, her mother turned around and said something like "How dare you apporach my daughter like that!" As for real "GTFO FURFAG" haters, no.
经历过仇恨者吗？
不少人看过那集CSI，不过他们大部分都觉得我很可爱，虽然可能也觉得有一点点变态吧。不过在Condition:Red有一个被抱着的小孩子，看见我很高兴。不过当我上前去的时候，抱着她的母亲说 “你怎么敢这样接近我的女儿！” 至于真的“你██的滚开你这兽控变态”仇恨者，还没有。

I once went to downtown CBD/around parliament and suited up, where a group of children at a park demanded my head to be taken off. I've only taken my head off twice that trip.
一次一个人去议会附近转悠，公园里的小孩子集体要求把头摘下来。那次出去只把头摘下来过两次。
About three hours. I'm a new fursuiter, and still learning how to manage between dehydration and having to empty the bladder. Usually I have to do that every hour.
一共大约三小时。我对兽装还是新上手，还在学习怎么保持在脱水和经常清空膀胱之间的平衡。一般一小时就要上一次厕所。

Condition:Red fursuit games, specifically the musical chairs. I won! But I've never exerted myself so much since I graduated from high school. You can read all about it in my con report! The section on the fursuit games is about as long as the rest of the article.
