Mikayla Raines, founder of SaveAFox Rescue, and runner of the youtube channel of the same name, took her own life after a long term campaign of bullying and abuse from several people online.
Her videos, showing the antics of the animals on the rescue, and the work that goes into running it behind the scenes, were one of the things that kept me sane during the height of the pandemic, especially after my own pets passed away around the same time.
I'm not sure what problems people had with her that caused them to drive her to this, I'm not sure I really care either. She was passionate about her work and empathetic towards her rescues and always a joy to see her post, and the world's a lot darker without her.
I feel like I'm barely not breaking down into tears right now.

Posted 4 months agoSo the image site E621 has a couple things going on that I'm not fond of:
1. The 'Tag what you see' policy which is debatably transphobic, queerphobic, and non-inclusionary (I think 'debatably' is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, in the wrong direction)
2. The 'e6ai' site that they're also running (which I'm not going to link to)
I'm pondering if I want to throw in takedown requests for all the art featuring my characters as well as put them on the DNP list. It's maybe a symbolic gesture but it's also like, I'm increasingly not fond of this site.
What would you do?

This is the sort of story that I realized that, it wouldn't exist unless I just did it myself. Nobody's doing long form furry vore fiction of this sort. (At least not that I'm both aware of and that are still doing it.) And *definitely* nobody is doing it for the specific combination of flavors that I want.
And god damn it feels good to write again.

I'm glad we have *something* but, well, this really should have been a core feature from the start? Especially for furries, who have by default reiterated their identities at least once already to *be* furries, right?
I'm also glad that the undismissable gofundme link in the banner is finally gone. I have a few other problems with how the fundraiser was run (that I won't get into here) but that they kept the link to it covering everyone's profile art banner for so long was kinda annoying.
Anyway I'm Kalo Division now, matching the name I've started using elsewhere.

Take five seconds and ask yourself "If discord's email servers were hacked what other signs would we be seeing" like, posts being made on tech sites, official notifications, etc
Also before you forward *anything* like this, you should make sure it has a source! "Someone said it in another server" is not a source!
Begging and pleading for people to recognize chain letters in the year of our lord 2025.

State of the Kalo 2025

I still have an art upload backlog, I'm going to try to chew through it pretty soon here. (where have I heard that before?) Part of it is I want to add commentary to each and that takes time and attention, and various shades of executive dysfunction mean that when I remember that I have unposted art is also when I don't have time or attention (typically when I'm winding down for bed)
... But it'll all get posted here eventually!
I'm also writing more. My new years resolution is to write *something* once a week. I'm not holding myself to any word counts or story completion timeframes, I just need to write *something*. So far, I'm 1 for 1 - I wrote 1000 words today to start a new story. Not my highest output day, but 1000 words is better than 0 words.
When I do write something, you can see it first on my personal discord server, along with all of my art backlog. Join today via the link below, invite expires in 1 week from today (for security/safety purposes)

State of the Kalo/BLFC
Posted a year agoHi! I had a rough couple of days, probably related to not getting enough sleep. I'm starting to recover and turn things around, though it's taking some effort and time.
Pokemon Smash/Pass is going again. Kalo Direct is going to finish with the last 3 announcements in a few days. There's some specific things that I was hoping would be ready first, and those things are not ready, and it's out of my hands.
In other news: I'll be going to Biggest Little Fur Con! I'll be staying with a friend nearby who's kindly hosting me. I've never been to BLFC (or Nevada at all) so I'm excited for the trip.
Pokemon Smash/Pass is going again. Kalo Direct is going to finish with the last 3 announcements in a few days. There's some specific things that I was hoping would be ready first, and those things are not ready, and it's out of my hands.
