Actual FWA Report
Posted 17 years agoFirst of all, props for my immune system and rental car for making it through this trip without a hitch. XD
Wednesday - Grabbed a rental car and at about 10:30 am was on the road to NC. Once I got there Solstice and I went Valentines day shopping for her bf. We took some really dorky pictures and of course, first damn night I'm there, I bust my digital camera on the floor of Party City and yeah, pretty lame. We buy some alcohol later on, get a little buzzed and sit around, unpack and chill.
Thursday - Solstice had to go to work. Out of boredom I washed her dishes then stopped by her work for a bit, we chilled outside, then I went to a nearby park to jog, she got home a bit later.
Friday - We got up a bit later than planned, were packed and on the road by 11am or so. Solstice, Runi and I headed to FWA, we actually managed to get a room in the main hotel after all. Nearly ran ourselves off the road going 90 on the way, but for some reason it was hilarious later. We unpacked then met up with Bastian, we got dinner at the cheapest "4 and a half star" sushi resturant we've ever seen. XD But the food was excellent! In the mean time I had stopped by the artist alley, made a quick $200 and left for the night.
Saturday - I got up early as hell, and sweaty as hell too, for a second I thought I was sick, but GA was just so fucking hot compared to what I was used to, and our room was 65 degrees,.. my ass. I was in the artist alley before 8, chilling with all the groggy people until things picked up. Made a total of approx. $850. Ran into tons of people I was dying to see. After things died down, Anjel, a friend of hers, Solstic, Runi and I went out for sushi, it was Amazing food, and one hell of a wait. When we got back it was late so we just chilled in our room, drawing and getting a little drunk. My drunk ass went back to the artist alley to find people to share alcohol with, we had SO much! XD
Changrin came back to our room but at that point it was 2 am and we were crashing hard.
Sunday - I got up early as hell again, went to the artist alley, sat around with Korrok and Banrai, Banrai and I couldn't sell if we wanted to, gave up and left. My roomies and I packed up, tired to say goodbyes, everyone was asleep still it seemed. Ran off for one last sushi meal, dropped Bastians stuff off, took him back at the hotel and headed back to NC. When we got back her roomates brought up an old offer for a free meal, we were all over that so we all hit the local Chili's. Which was pretty amazing, not just food wise. We got drunk at the bar, I ordered a margarita with a few refills and a shot of Bailey's Irish Cream. We smoked, drank, watched Nascar on the big TV's, Laughed at really bad jokes, then went to Wal*Mart. Solstic and I stayed in the parkinglot since we didn't feel like walking around drunk in Wal*Mart. We took pictures of ourselves posing on cars like retards and seeing how far we could spit, and laughed our asses off when we spit on cars, but, dehydration fails that idea.
The guys come back out, we drive home, the trip consists of us dancing to really loud hip hop the whole way home. We get home and get wasted. Solstice and I were dancing more, I felt the need to wear a cowboy hat apparently, and ate my leftover food without realising it. I left some people drunk voice mails, no idea who now. I don't remember the last hour or so, but I bet it was funny, once I couldn't really stand anymore I gave up and passed out. I didn't barf, Solstice nearly puked her lungs out, and amazingly, I wasn't hung over the next morning.
Monday - I re-pack and watch movies and draw with Solstice until it's time for me to hit the road. About 2 and a half hours into it the traffic just stops, there was a fatal crash on the turn pike, so once I realize that wont change I turn around. I get back to NC, tired and hungry, I get a veggie pizza, get a beer, barely dig into it at all and am out like a light by 11pm.
Today - Got up at 7am and just ran out the door, everyone was asleep and I wanted to get the driving overwith so yeah, I realise I forgot my Parrot Bay and wine and pizza, oh well, y'all can enjoy it yourselves! <3
I got home at about 2:30.

Posted 17 years agoFWA was great, made some good money, had a great time with Bastian, Runi and Solstice! I loved seeing everyone and meeting new people! Terribly sorry for not really being social to speak of. I miss everyone terribly. The con went so fast. I'm still in NC, going back to Ohio tomorrow. I actually left today, made it about 2 and a half hours into the drive and there was a fatal accident on the mountian, after an hour I turned around. My thoughts are with the families of those who died.
Just ordered a veggie pizza, sitting next to Solstice watching TV, I should be drawing, but I'm exhausted.

solstice and her bf Runi and meet Bastian in Atlanta for the whole weekend.
I'll be in the artist alley, come say hi!
I will be taking badge commissions for $20 and have a selection of 50 glossy prints on hand, most of what you see in this gallery, going for $3 black and white and $4 ot 5 color. I will probably bring my lamination machine with me too so I can complete badges on the spot, and yes, you may use it if you ask me.
I will not do sketchbook sketches or commissions as that backfired very badly at AC'07, from what I heard about someone who can't say it to my face. 8(

But I worked my Ass off so I'll be getting two or three bonus's on the next pay check.
I have tomorrow off, I'm sleeping in, aka - till 8:30 am Maybe.

How Did You Get Your Characters Name?

As for mine. "Kamilya Storme" I first designed a character in 1998, a white wolf-dragon, named Okami, which means wolf in Japanese.
In 2001 I changed her from white to brown and I wanted to change her name to "Tamohawk" and did for a week, calling her "Tammy", and quickly grew bored of it and since didn't like Okami so I dropped the first letter and just called her "Kami".
In 2002 I gave her the last name "Storme" for the boring reasons that were I love storms, and some guy I was with, if you could even call it that, made me a necklace with an "E" on it, just because he welded, and had it around and liked me. Therefore, an 'E' was added.
In 2003 I began posting my art online, DeviantArt, Side7, VCL, I wanted the same name on all the sites. "Kami" was taken on DA and proved to be a VERY common name online, it being Japanese for "God" or "[High] Spirit", I added some random letters to it that I felt made it sound pretty, that was all. Turns out it's a Russian name.
In 2006 I gave her a middle name, "Jane" because it's a name given to anonymous people, and that appeals to me in a way.
So it was kind of a name that grew with me, no big fancy meaning I suppose. And as for yours?
