Emergency Commissions!!!
General | Posted 10 years agoFirst of all, I know I'm not the best artist. But I am hoping for some help here.
My dog Thunder is a Siberian Husky, only a year and two months old. He is a very active, happy sweetheart, with an abundance of energy. We have an apple tree in our backyard that he pulls the apples off of. He plays with them and ultimately eats them. Yesterday, during dinner, he got himself an apple and was playing with it. He always does it, and always is so silly with them, bouncing, rolling, that we didn't expect anything to happen.
The vet said it was a freak accident. One of the times he flopped down, he landed wrong. I... never want to see anything like that again. It was like his neck twisted, and his head was stuck on his shoulder. He couldn't stand. Honestly, we thought he'd broken his neck. I lifted him in my arms, trying to keep his neck immobile as we rushed him to the ER.
Someone must have been looking out for us, because the x-rays came back clean. He does have cervical trauma, but there is no break, no paralysis. Still, he had to stay in the ICU overnight. He is home now, heavily sedated, and we're looking at having to give him physical therapy to help him fully heal from this.
Now the reason for this journal. He is alive, and getting better, but the costs of having him in the ICU are harsh. And I can't exactly make any money right now, since I am homebound for my own medical reasons. So I am hoping I can alleviate a bit of the $800+ cost of his emergency by doing some commissions. I can do headshots, fullbody, couples, simple backgrounds, complex backgrounds. I can even try my hand at NSFW, but those will cost more. I can do closed species, OCs, FR dragons, Clanheart pets, furries, basically anything as long as it is a feral creature. Humans and anthro are the only thing I can't really do. Examples of some of my work are below. Please, any USD amount would be so very helpful, even if it's just a $5 commission.

Rainbow Bridge

And left you far behind.
Don't cry for me, I'm not really gone
I'm in your heart and in your mind.
I'm in a better place now
Free from all the pain.
My wish for you, a happy life
And one day I'll see you again.
We may be parted, for now it's true
And you feel all alone.
But when you reach the Bridge someday
I'll greet you and lead you home.
There have only been a few times in my life where I could write a poem. This one came to me as we went to free our dog from the pain of cancer. I dedicate this to her.

A bit of self discovery
General | Posted 11 years agoChanging my fursona doesn't come without reasons or explanations. It started about seven years ago. My sister and I were doing an online roleplay, and we were rp-ing as guys. At that time, I chose a male name for myself. Why? I dunno. It felt more natural. But it took until the beginning of this year before I could admit to myself that I am happier as a male. I enjoy men's clothes, I enjoy it when I bind and look down and don't see giant breasts. I like being able to actually see my feet. And it just feels so much more natural to consider myself male.
With that, comes a new fursona. I never really fit into the fox role, but it was the closest I could come. But Cheetahs... since an early age, I've had feline related nicknames in some form or another. I tend to chirp when I hiccup, and a lot of the time it sounds like the sounds a Cheetah makes. I can growl, but I can't purr. And I've always loved looking at Cheetahs. Discovering the King Cheetah pretty much sealed the deal.
There's still a lot to do on this road to self-discovery. I've already burned bridges with it, and coming out to my family is going to be a nightmare. But at least in the furry community I have felt accepted, felt like I can be myself no matter who or what that is. Sorry for the long ramble. I just felt like an explanation was in order.
