Hey folks!

I'm pleased as punch to say that all the roles for Gang Trouble are SOLD OUT. Congratulations and big thanks to our supporters. Noel (aka Cwoissant) is sketching away at the designs for the characters now that everyone's sent in their information, and subject to the cast's approval we will be moving forward very soon!

Noel has already color-sketched Conner, our star, and has done some character study headshots of the villainous Aito and Conner's reaction to him! Stay tuned for more updates and developments as they happen!

Hey folks! So as of now, all the major roles in "GANG TROUBLE" are gone. That leaves two CAMEO roles remaining-- meaning an appearance in the comic although you may or may not have any lines. But you will get a digital copy of the comic when it comes out!

Folks, I'm super excited. Noel (aka Shuffahlong , aka Cwoissant) has sent me the preliminary sketches for some of the assigned roles in "Gang Trouble."

All the roles are now spoken for except for MOM and DAD. (By the way, no one is saying both parents have to be different genders! Want two Dads or two Moms? We can TOTALLY do that!)

Production will begin sometime this week, so if you want either of those two roles, now's the time to speak up!

THE PLOT: The high school football star falls victim to a jealous fellow student who resents his popularity. Cornering him one day after school, the jealous gang leader and his two enforcers make the poor hero wet his pants-- and take pictures for use as blackmail! Things can only go downhill from there until our hero ends up in diapers!

Hey folks, Happy 2015!

I have big plans for Karis' Playground this year -- including finishing that gosh-darn redesign of the site-- and that includes NEW COMICS.

I already have two diaper comics with the art done; I'll be making them available for purchase on the site once it's up. More on that later.

But the time has come to put out a call FOR NEW ARTISTS. Yes, I would like to start auditioning talent for upcoming projects. I need artists that do sequential work like comics, not just pin-ups; that have a reasonable, reliable turnaround time, and are dependable.

If you know someone who fits the bill, please ask them to contact me with links to their portfolio and I'd be happy to take it from there-- please DO NOT VOLUNTEER people or send me links, simply inform the artist that I'm looking and if they choose to contact me, I'll follow up. Thanks!

So, the community involved with ISB #5 gave Marci a deadline of today-- and she met it! The interior art of the comic is complete!

Folks, it's been a long time coming. But now I think Karis' Playground is finally ready to admit that the digital age of comics is here, and that folks need and want their content available digitally. So many folks have emailed me wanting to get my comics discreetly because they still live with family, or have privacy issues, et cetera. So many have said they don't or can't travel to conventions.

Finally, all of you who have been waiting, that day is here. From this point forward, all Karis Playground comics will be available as digital downloads from lulu.com. It's been a month since I posted my "Flakey Artist" post. I've tried to get communication going with the artist in question, and nothing. Not on here, not via private email, not via PayPal, nothing. No response whatsoever. Not even a "Later" or "Can't do it yet".

I'm so sorry, folks, I just don't know what else to do.

Folks, Please avoid kangaroo-boy. :icon:kangaroo-boy I have sympathy for artists when life gets in the way, but I can't excuse a total lack of communication. I think waiting a year has been more than fair; would it have been impossible to email, or ask a friend to email?

If there were complications, health-related reasons, anything...there could still have been communication. Some attempt to keep me in the loop.

Sorry folks-- don't want anyone else to lose money on this artist.

I know-- such a rare and unused title in the Furry world.

I work with so many artists who are great. Whether it's full-on comics or just personal commissions, I've had some truly great experiences.

Of course, there are people out there of varying levels of talent who for whatever reason will take your money and not deliver. And it's not just that; hiccups happen. It's when they avoid all communication and can't speak up to let you know what the delay/problem is.

About a year ago I commissioned someone for three pencil sketches at $40 a pop -- $120 bucks total. They don't usually take commissions but they were in financial trouble and needed help-- so I helped them! I get commissions and they get money-- yay! But then they couldn't do the work. Stuff happened in their life, and they agreed to refund my money.

Six months later they DID try to, via PayPal. But they sent it in the wrong currency, shortchanging me by quite a bit. So I refunded the payment and asked them to send it again in US Dollars-- and nothing.

STILL nothing.

In the Furry world, there's really nothing I can do to get my money back. I still hope I will get it back but the reality is probably that it's gone. And that's sad. And there's really only one thing I CAN do, and that's publish their name and ensure no one else gets screwed like I did.

In this community, your reputation is all your have. Once it's tarnished-- that's it. Some people may forgive you but you'll always have that stigma attached to your name from that point on. So as an artist who displays their work on FA, do you really want people to know you're a flake and a thief?

I'll wait for a month longer. Then I'm afraid I'll have no choice but to try to save others some time and misery by publishing the name of the artist in question. I hope some attempt at communication with me will be made before that.

I just now, seconds before posting this, sent Marci my draft of the COMPLETED SCRIPT of ISB #5. There may have to be some tiny revisions, but folks, the story is COMPLETE and DONE from my writer's perspective and is now in the hands of the ARTIST.

It's very much like this world only the humans are furries.

There are no humans.

Yes they exist, they are treated the same way they are treated in this world. A dog furry can have a dog as a pet.

There are mythological animals, though they are not mythological in the context of my world. Dragons are dragons, but they don't breathe fire.

There is no magic. Makes for bad story and is a the panacea of a lazy writer, in my humble opinion.

I forget names and have the WEIRDEST mnemonic devices to try and remember them. I tend to remember impressions of people more than their names, so when I try to recall things, I'll say: "Oh hi, barbecue, beach ball, shopping mall, mall, oom-mow-mow... MARK. Hi, Mark."
