2022 Movies That I'm Sure I'll (Eventually) Watch
General | Posted 3 years agoNee posted his list, so I'll post mine. XD
Let's face it, it takes me a while to watch most movies unless I'm REALLY anticipating them. I'm still likely to avoid the movie theaters for my brother's sake, so most viewings will wait until home media releases. This list consists of movies that are scheduled to be released in 2022 that I have some interest in and/or will likely be Nee's pick for a Movie Date somewhere down the road. Whether they all become Movie Dates or not depends on things. ^^
I first wrote this list at the start of the year so these are my original first impressions. I have watched or seen new trailers with updated info for some of these since then.
Scream (5) -- 25 years after the first murder spree the quiet town of Woodsboro has a new Ghostface reigning terror on a new group of teens and survivors. It was my first real horror movie series and the first film series I introduced Nee to. I do have my concerns on how it will be handled though. The original director is dead, the original screenwriter is just an executive producer, and there are survivors from all four films appearing that I worry won't make it out a fifth time. I'm not sure if I'll consider it canon because of the former two things, but I wanna give it a chance.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild -- Possum brothers Crash and Eddie fall back into the Lost World where dinosaurs thrive and are reunited with their hero, eccentric adventurer Buck the weasel. I like the Ice Age series, and I certainly enjoyed Buck's character, but I don't have high hopes that it'll be a good movie. It was originally conceived as a series so the animation looks cheap in comparison, and I worry too much Buck will do more harm than good. But I will still give it a watch at some point.
Marry Me -- A teacher attends a concert with his best friend and daughter and after holding a sign that says "Marry Me" ends up marrying the pop star performer live on stage. This is on the list because I actually read the comic this movie is based on. ... They've changed a lot; names, added/removed characters, and they didn't even try to make the actors look like their comic counterparts. I remember after they get married they try to avoid the singer's father by going on an international journey, but it looks like they're keeping it pretty domestic. Still, it's a neat concept and I wanna see how it turns out.
Turning Red -- A Chinese-Canadian teen girl suddenly finds herself turning into a giant red panda whenever she becomes excited or stressed. It's a Pixar movie. Nuff said.
Morbius -- Marvel movie about the origins of Morbius, the Living Vampire. As Nee hasn't "forced" the Spider-Man Universe films on me yet I won't be watching it for a while. It's only a matter of time though; he got me the Raimi and Webb films for my birthday. X3
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 -- The sequel to the film where a anthropomorphic teen hedgehog named Sonic finds a family and a home. But his nemesis Dr. Eggman has returned to find the Master Emerald with Knuckles the Echidna, so Sonic must team up with a two-tailed fox named Tails to stop them. We saw the first one so we gotta see the sequel, y'know? Nee's pick.
The Bad Guys -- A Dreamworks film about a criminal gang of anthropomorphic villains trying to make good. Nee called dibs.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness -- I can't look up the plotline without risking spoilers for "No Way Home". X3 But it's part of the MCU, so I gotta see it for the other movies to make any sense. If there's any sense to be made. XD Goes without saying, but Nee's pick.
DC League of Super-Pets -- Superman's dog Krypto must save the Justice League with help from a group of super-powered shelter pets. ... Admittingly this one is more iffy. I'll have to see more trailers and reviews to be sure, but I usually like animated DC stuff.
Lightyear -- The origin story of the human character that inspires the toy character seen in the Toy Story films. OK, so I'm not really a Toy Story fan, but since this is more an origin story of the human Buzz Lightyear I might be more willing to sit through it. I'm sure it will also be Nee's pick.
Minions: Rise of Gru -- As of this writing we haven't watched the first Minions movie, so I'd rather not look at the plot outline. But it's only a matter of time. X3 And it will be Nee's pick.
Thor: Love and Thunder -- The fourth solo Thor film that I risk not looking up the plotline for. Also part of the MCU. Nuff said. Nee's.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish -- The sequel to the original Shrek spin-off and I'm assuming genies are involved. Sheesh, this movie's been in various stages of development since 2012, so I'll believe it when I see a trailer. Still, I'll see it whenever it does come out because I like Puss. I just hope it's not overhyped or something.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) -- Rather not check the plotline, but it's a Spider-Verse movie so-- Wait... Part One? Oh, [toast]. Hopefully any cliffhanger it has doesn't tick me off like Infinity War's did. Hopefully I can avoid the spoilers better than Endgame's. X3 Nee's pick.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever -- Besides knowing that T'Challa won't be in it I don't know much about this one, besides that it's yet another MCU piece. Yet another Nee pick.
Avatar 2 -- On Pandora Jake Sully and Neytiri have raised a family but an old threat returns to finish what they've started. The first of four planned sequels. Hoo boy. I don't know, it's been 13 years since the first one... maybe it can trick me into getting suckered back in.
Untitled Mario film -- ... I mean... maybe if I saw a trailer. I'm not gonna hate on it right yet just because of the casting choices. I can guarentee I won't subject Nee to it though.

KatNee Movie Dates Season 4
General | Posted 5 years agoHello, creatures of the internet! It's February, so that means Season 4 of the KatNee Movie Dates should be starting, right? ... Well... sorta-kinda.
Nee works at an essential business so his schedule is about the same. And my father passed away suddenly in September so things are different at home, and I have less drive to work. It doesn't help that there are several of Nee's action movies in a row.
So this season of the KatNee Movie Dates will be more sporadic. We'll start with a few updates that we have ready soon. There are more than double the entries from last year, so please be patient with us.
On a side note please consider donating to
's GoFundMe which, after a year, has still not reached its end goal. It is just under $1000 from it though. ^^ https://www.gofundme.com/f/kun4da-hit-and-run

Aerokat Needs A New Drawing Tablet!
General | Posted 7 years agoCreatures of the internet, I feel obliged to pass along a message from a friend who is in need of a new drawing tablet.
aerokat needs $1200 for an iPad Pro while her Cintiq is on its last metaphorical legs. She's selling line art pages of her comics Starfire Agency and Nightshift, so please consider taking a look!

And it gives me an excuse to replace a 3-year-old journal entry. X3
UPDATE: Goal met. :3

1) Post these rules.
2) Post 8 facts about your character.

4) Post their names along with their creators' avatars.
I was tagged by
aerokat so let's get a new journal up here XD
1. Maggie shares two sorts of name themes with her siblings; first names based on classic elements (Air, Earth, Water) and middle names have angelic origins. She takes the "Earth" element, as her name means "Pearl" and her middle name Nitika is the name of the angel of precious stones.
2. Her mother Bella was an angel who became mortal when she married Maggie's father Leo. However all of Bella's remaining angelic powers found their way into her first-born, Skylar. When Maggie was born Bella was completely mortal and had no more angelic powers to give.
3. She took up sports when her sister was transferred overseas so she would not admit to any sort of depression.
4. As part of a senior prank Maggie arranged for a crane to lift her principal's car up to the roof of the school during a game.
5. One of the first things she saw when she arrived in Megakat City was a shekat short-circuiting an ATM machine with electric powers. Sort of an anti-hero, this shekat would later become her room mate.
6. She works as the cook in a gothic vampire-themed bar owned by her brother-in-law's "aunt." She's currently unaware that it actually is a bar for vampires and that the "aunt" is actually his vampire grandmother.
7. Recently she was pulled through a dimensional rift into a mutated swamp version of Megakat City where she was given a serum to more easily escape the dangerous creatures. Now technically a mutant (or mutate if you wanna go by Marvel standards) she is able to stick to things and can climb walls.
8. Although her code name is Spider, she does not have any other spider-like abilities or gadgets.
Alright, I made it through! Now, for the tagged 8... ^^; I don't typically tag individuals. So whoever feels like trying this out... or you can tag someone for me. :p

Cats n Cameras
General | Posted 12 years agoJust a reminder, folks, Skylar is guest starring in Chapter 11 of the webcomic Cats N Cameras! She's on the very first page. :3 She's so cute in that style! <3 Additional reminder, CnC at times is NSFW with topless and (once in a while) bottomless females. Only NSFW male nudity and more (hardcore) female nudity are in the randomized guest art to the right of the strip.

'Cuz I Need a New Journal Entry X3
General | Posted 13 years agoOK, so SWAT Kats, one of my all-time favorite shows ever, has a chance of being revived by its original creators, the Tremblay brothers. Joy-gasm! It would be extra-great because it would be a continuation from where the series left off, rather than a reboot... much like Batman the Animated Series and Biker Mice From Mars. I only hope they get a good chunk of the surviving cast...
If anyone's interested here's a survey to take to see what demographics the fandom has. I don't think it has anything to do with getting the show going again but hey, it's interesting to see the results. http://swatkats.info/fan-survey
And here's an interview with Christian Trembley about the show's revival. http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/commen.....ron_tv_series/

Still Playing With Princess Dolls?
General | Posted 14 years agoIt's been too long since I posted a journal about how I was confused about switching names between my Siberians. X3 They're both sweet boys and we have their names down by now. ::chuckles:: But since I don't have anything really "art" or "animal" or "meme" related of some kind... gonna try something else. It's something I've been musing on for a couple of weeks...
The Disney Store began releasing the Disney Princess Designer dolls a few weeks ago for $60 each. The 10 Disney Princesses are fancied up into limited editions of 4000 to 8000, depending on the doll, from August 22nd to October 24th every Monday and sold to adult collectors. Cinderella, Ariel, and Belle have been released so far, and there's no hope of pre-ordering the doll you're really after. You won't know who is next until the next week, although if you go to the Disney Store Facebook you'll get a hint the day before. I have a hunch that Rapunzel will be released October 3rd following the inaguration in England when she's officially accepted in the Princess roster.
Ariel sold out quickly, lasting about 6 days on the Disney Store website before Belle became available (I read somewhere that everyone wanted Ariel the most, and she's selling for crazy amounts on eBay), and I noticed Cinderella sold out this morning after 2 weeks. It makes me wonder, who is the most desired Princess in this collection? And who will be the least desired? And how long will they remain on the shelves? I think I'll chronicle the collection's process for a while and see how it goes, because I'm honestly curious.
August 22nd: Cinderella from Cinderella (1950)-- collection of 8000, SOLD OUT 9/6/11 (about 2 weeks)
August 29th: Ariel from The Little Mermaid (1989)-- collection of 8000, SOLD OUT 9/5/11 (6 days or less)
September 5th: Belle from Beauty and the Beast (1991)-- collection of 8000, SOLD OUT 9/6/11 (less than 48 hours)
September 12th: Mulan from Mulan (1998)-- collection of 6000, SOLD OUT (1/2 a day at least)
September 19th: Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)-- collection of 6000, SOLD OUT (30 MINUTES OR LESS)
October 17th/18th: ALL SOLD OUT (In how long? WHO KNOWS?!!! LOL)
Aurora from Sleeping Beauty (1959)-- collection of 4000
Jasmine from Aladdin (1992)-- collection of 6000
Pocahontas from Pocahontas (1995)-- collection of 4000
Tiana from The Princess and the Frog (2009)-- collection of 4000
Rapunzel from Tangled (2010)-- collection of 6000
Sept 7th update: Holy crap, Belle sold out already?!! She was listed a day and a half, maybe, and when I went to the Disney Store website it said she was sold out! I love Belle, really I do... I could dress up as her because she's the only brunette in the bunch. ... And I was disappointed that I didn't like her Designer doll the best. I don't like the major beehive look and the dress... the top half's nice. ¬¬ That's all I'm saying. ... Also, apparently Mulan is the next Princess to be released; there are some pre-orders going on on eBay for this following Monday. I'm not sure where they're getting this info, but I want it. X3
Sept 12th update: I guess collectors are aware that they need to act fast; Mulan was listed as sold out online by the time I came home this afternoon at 5:20pm. I had actually gone to a Disney Store, opened at 11:00am with about 20 dolls, and by the time I got there at 11:45ish there were only two left. Too bad.
Sept 19th update: OK, so Snow White came out this morning... I guess everyone woke up early or stayed up late (depending on your location) to snag her and SHE'S ALREADY SOLD OUT ONLINE. Within like 30 minutes! I know 'cuz I woke up to see! I won't be going to the store this week to see how quickly she sells out there, but it seems pretty obvious now. Only 5 Princess remain: Aurora, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Tiana, and Rapunzel. I imagine they'll sell out just as quickly, too.
September 24th Update: Well, the Disney Store has listened to our pleas and here's the scoop: they're no longer releasing a new doll each week. Instead, the remaining 5 dolls will be released on one day, October 17th in the Disney Store, and then online October 18th, limiting 1 doll per Princess per customer. We're getting down to the 4000 limit here, so they're really trying to please us. Saves some of us from waking up at 3:00am, too.
October 17th Update: After a few long weeks the day finally came. My parents worried that if I went alone I would get in a bad situation, something of a mob scene resembling 5am on Black Friday, so I got my cousin to go with me to the Disney Store. We got there at 8:00 (their time) just as the mall doors were opening, with people standing outside. Some people brought their kids along, some still in their PJs. Nice parenting. All was calm, no one was throwing a hissy fit while waiting for the two hours. We were about the 38th in line and we knew how many of each doll was going to be handed out before they passed out the ticket vouchers (42 of Jasmine, 38 of Rapunzel, 24 of Pocahontas and Tiana, and 23 of Aurora). Most folks were getting all 5, so by the time it got to us, I got the last Rapunzel and a Jasmine. Then when the store opened we waited 30 minutes to trade the vouchers for the dolls. Those who didn't get the dolls they wanted were handed a paper telling when the online store will start selling tomorrow. Meanwhile, 2 and a half hours in line... I'm tired. X3
October 18th Update: It seems being at the store was less of a hassle than it was online. As soon as the dolls became available my computer couldn't load fast enough. I had the Disney Store app on my iTouch and did much better progress with that, getting the other three dolls in the cart quickly, but problems with logging in and getting to the check-out point and the website itself having issues... well, now they're all sold out.
Conclusion: So, who is the most desired Princess in this lot? As the availability of the dolls lessened with each week it would seem like it's Snow White, but I think it was just more people became aware that they were out there and wanted to make a quick buck on eBay, so I can't say the first Princess is the favorite. As far as I can see it's Ariel who is the most sought after, as people are paying three to four hundred dollars to purchase one in an auction. And the least sought after? Well with the last of the dolls released and everyone's trying to get one I can't judge the last group, so I'll have to judge from the first five, and from them... I'm probably going to say Mulan. Out of all the bundled groups of two or more dolls Mulan has been featured in the most. She also had the cheapest "Buy-It-Now" I've seen out of all the dolls, at about $100.
So, that's my two cents on the Disney Princess Designer Collection as of right now. I'll try to get a new journal soon to sit around on the main page instead of this. X3

What the frak?
General | Posted 15 years agoOK, so I've had Lilo and Paton for about two weeks now, and they've warmed up to me quite a bit since my last journal entry. They're still pretty shy and hide/sleep during the day. Today I sent an email out to their original owner, the breeder she got them from, and the breeder who got us all together and told them how things were doing. Just a few minutes ago I got an email back from the owner... who just informed me that I had their names reversed. O.o I had been calling the gray one Lilo and the brown one Paton when it's the other way around.
The owner never really specified by picture who was who, but when the original breeder sent us pictures of their parents she said that Lilo looked like his gray father and Paton looked like his brown mother, so we had to assume that way. I remember the owner mentioned having to take Paton to the groomers to shave his back end, but the silver one--the one I thought was Lilo--was the one who was shaved. I dunno, I guess I just thought she was the one mixed up instead of me.
I've known of these cats for almost a month, and now I have to adjust to calling them different names. ... I had pondered the idea of renaming Lilo Leo before and kinda wished it was the brown one, because he looked more lionish. ... I'll see how he likes it. X3

Noseeums
General | Posted 15 years agoI've been trying to get a Siberian Cat for a while now, looking at different websites, e-classifieds, all kinds like that. They all were either too far away or had some kind of social problem with dogs or other animals. We've been in contact with a semi-local breeder who kept an ear open for anything available earlier than waiting for a kitten. Earlier this month, she told us about a pregnant woman in Kentucky who had developed trouble with her asthma and had to get rid of her two 18-month-old Siberian brothers.
We brought them home Saturday night (after they put up one hell of a fight transferring between crates), and like most cats they've been prone to hide whever they could. I opened the empty drawers on the other side of my platform bed and they'd rather hide under them. Sunday they both retreated under the bed, which is no easy task, really. First they have to squeeze behind the headboard and then move to the 15x16" space. The bed's held together by three pieces of plywood and supported by X-shaped beams. It's too small to fit through and too deep to pull them out. They stayed down there for a good day and a half before we had to remove the plywood to pull them out, then seal them out. They weren't happy. The dominent of the two hissed as I picked him up and struggled to get away. I'm amazed I didn't get scratched or bitten then.
Today (technically) I kept waking up to the random sounds they made during the night. Eventually, around 4:30, I gave up and got the laptop out. After a while the more dominent of the two sat by the door and began meowing. I figured he was hungry so I tried giving him a treat. He wouldn't touch it. I tried wet food. He wouldn't come near it. My room doesn't have a lot of other good hiding spots so I think he wants to go find one. Nope, sorry, big guy, you're gonna be in there until you learn to be affectionate.
Yeah, so most cats I've had before were more friendly and wanted to be petted after a day or two, but we're heading into four. I'm thinking maybe I should get some of those "calming" collars or sprays I've seen to see if that'll help them relax, feel less afraid. I'll post pictures when they're more social. Until then, they are referred to by the family as "Noseeums," because they keep hiding.
