There was an attempt on Bluesky that got solved, but now I've found out there's a Telegram account using my name here.
PLEASE BLOCK AND DNI WITH @/kaymiika on Telegram! My REAL TG is @/kayfoxii and I have yet to use it to contact clients. I mostly use discord instead, but I do have one at least.

Personal Update + ETSY PRINT SHOP!

It's been a hot minute since I posted something here, although I was chugging along with work until late August ^^;
My relationship went through a break recently, and I've been on hiatus for the last.. month and a half ish?
Luckily things have improved in the past few weeks though. I took a long mental health trip to visit my cousin over in CA and that helped me a lot.
But now I'm also taking baby steps with my partner to see about picking those pieces up again.
During this time, I also had to move into my parent's place :') Which I'm not super happy about, but at least I'm saving money for now haha.
Hopefully by early next year I can be in a new apartment but I'll have to see what kind of work I can put out in order to do that ^^;
So that's the goal, now that I'm finally finishing up the moving process this week, and getting back to work. Cleaning out my queue and moving forward!
In other news.... I now have an ETSY PRINT SHOP!! :D

Updates / Changes for 2024!

Unfortunately I may be getting a full time job for medical/health insurance reasons very soon </3
This has put a delay on my release of new Patreon/Ko-fi revamp, and very likely means I won't be taking new commissions for an even longer period ><
For now, I may be taking more sketches until sometime in March, or just until I get hired by someone.
Patreon will be kept on pause, or re-opened with the understanding that it serves as purely a DONATION platform for the time being! I do not want to guarantee content if I'm getting a full-time position, but my current patrons seem to be voting that they want this left open <3
Of course this doesn't mean I'm stopping art! It would give me the opportunity to finish my queue without the worry of adding more work, which is great actually! Besides commissions though, I would definitely be taking time to produce things like personal or fanart for enjoyment. I still want to grow my pages as much as possible for an eventual return to full time art :D

Sorry my updates here get a bit sparse, I do need to work on not forgetting to post journals here haha :')
The end of 2023 was super busy for me irl, I went to two conventions in October and also right before Christmas and got sick afterwards for... a week both times (rip) So that was unfortunate, but the experience was still rewarding <3
I'm not sure if I've mentioned here before, but I do also work for a design agency called Creative Workshop alongside my regular commission business! When I travel to conventions it's usually to work events with them 🥰
My contract work for them does put a slowdown on my commissions sometimes, but everyone who is currently waiting should have received a DM from me about this a while ago. I'm slowly working down the list of large/rendered pieces on my queue, and until further notice I won't be accepting anymore slots/YCHs like this to make sure I catch up.
In the meantime, I've been accepting quick sketch style commissions when I need to pay bills. I haven't been posting openings super often due to Patreon snatching up most slots, but keep an eye out if that's something you're interested in- I will likely be sharing a post about one next week!
Also- don't fret if you're someone who's been waiting to order a full render piece! They will be available again when I'm able to work through my backlog- albeit *one* at a time until I'm sure I can handle more.
I just don't want to make the mistake again where I have people waiting too long. I'm very grateful for the patience of my clients, the first 2 years of doing art full time has been a major learning experience for me <3
In other news, Patreon and Ko-fi are actually on pause for this month! There are some brand updates/changes I've been thinking about for a while now, and just never set aside the time to do.
Plus this gives people time to consider the new tier rework that will go live February 1st!
I'll be sharing again when this is officially available- but there's also a public post on my pages for in-depth tier info. Hopefully by the end of the month, I'll have a new website look, plus shiny new banners/icons for Patreon/Kofi :D
TLDR:

Side update: Rauru was the fanart character selected for June, however I've opted to leave his piece in its sketchy/messy painted format for now due to the other work I need to focus on.
I REALLY love how the concept was going, so I'd prefer not to rush the polishing and just post him at a later date when I can finish <3
So if anyone was curious, that's why there's no fanart post this month - sorry! He will come eventually, but you can also view the rough one on my Patreon + Ko-fi still ^^

First off- thank you to all the new watchers I have here! I'm stoked to be over 1K and more of you keep coming in :'D
I'm truly honored that you enjoy my content, and I'm always looking to improve! So I'm always happy to receive feedback as well <3
As a personal update - I went on a vacation trip with some family/friends last week over my birthday!
It was a nice rest at the beach, but I'm also glad to be back so I can hunker down on the rest of my queue.
This is especially important because I'll be traveling AGAIN on the 22nd to go work an event with my team at CreativeWorkshop, and I'm planning to open a few commission slots right around the end of the month. I've been a very busy bee the past month or two and will likely continue to be until... September? And hopefully it slows a bit but I'll be okay :D
So the plan is: today I'll be releasing another YCH, and then depending on how well that does will determine the number of commissions I open in a few weeks ^^

With student loan debt looming in the very near future, I'm either going to need to up my pricing and see how it goes, or consider getting a new job- and of course I'd like to avoid that if possible haha. I LOVE doing what I do, and even though it's very challenging as is, I'm extremely fortunate to be able to get by how I do and make art for a living on my own. So THANK YOU very much to those who are supporting me on this path, it truly means the world! <3
That being said - I'm thinking about potentially consolidating my style options as well. Sketch lines with full render shading seems to be the most popular option for those who order commissions, and since I've never been a huge fan of doing line art anyways - I may just remove line art altogether, and polish up my sketch lines the best I can.

Currently, my clean line art + full render style is $200 for a single character, and I would love to know if you:
A: Think my prices are too low, or fine as is for now
B: If you feel I should raise my prices, what do you believe is a fair pricing? (For the example of a single character, full body, in my most polished full render style)

Graduation Update!

I'm just popping in to say I have confirmed my final interview date which is a big part of what determines my passing/graduating this semester!
It's on May 4th, and I'm hoping I'll have nothing else due after that, but if anything I believe the very last day is May 7th ^^
So I once again want to thank those of you who are waiting on something from me, I really want to make it clear that this has not been a normal wait time for me - and my first goal after all of my work for school is turned in is to get ALL commissions done!
Thank you VERY much for your extreme patience in this stressful time in my life, and if I'm being honest I quite literally couldn't have made it without the financial support of that work. So from the bottom of my heart, I really do appreciate that. <3
Schedule wise, my goal is to have my entire queue cleared by May 14th - and after that I can pursue plans for further commission work, Patreon/Ko-fi sub rewards, and shop products c:
A little scared of the financial difficulty that comes with running your own business, but I'll be damned if I don't at least try my hardest and see what happens haha!

Personal Update 2022!
Posted 4 years agoFirst off I wanna thank all those that have cared to follow my account here, I really hope I can grow it more, as so far I've met some extremely kind people and that means so much 💕
So tomorrow is my first day back for the spring semester, and thank God it will be the last! I've made it 5 years and I could not be happier. I'm scared too because of the huge project I have to tackle, but also very excited to try my best and get it done 🥰

Updates + Notice of Slowdowns!

I hope whoever is reading is having a lovely day so far 💕
This is just a courtesy journal to let my followers here know I'm still working when I can, but school has unfortunately slowed me down a lot. ><
I really wish the beginning of the semester had more work than the end instead of the other way around, because I always seem to lose my steam around this time of the year sadly ^^; It would make it so much easier if I could focus more on my online presence and I hate it haha.
Im supposed to graduate in May of next year, and Im having to produce my own animated film by that time. Im currently still only fleshing out the story/ script and starting on the storyboards, so I have a LOT to do! But I believe I can make it happen :)
After all that is over though, I was really hoping to pick up my freelance full time again, and maybe even work towards setting up Patreon and rewards for that. So hopefully my activity online doesn't have to die down too much in the mean time haha.
Right now I can manage maybe 2 days a week where I get to focus on non-school art, but its coming along still, I promise!
I send my biggest thanks to my EXTREMELY patient and kind commissioners, you guys are incredible. You have no idea how much I appreciate you, and feel free to ask me questions if you need to. <3
