Birthday in One month
General | Posted 13 years agoI'm not one to usually ask or make a deal of these kinds of things, since anyone who knows me knows it's not my style. I appreciate the well wishes from the people I care about more than anything but still...
Could people at least pretend to care about my birthday this year? Please?

Perfect Tablet when you're on a budget
General | Posted 13 years agohttp://www.monoprice.com/products/s.....mp;cp_id=10841
Bottom line I was using a Graphire 4, old as hell but very reliable, got my hands on the 10x6.25 and it works like a freaking CHARM. It's kind of crazy, the low price tag and the... slightly off translation in the quick start manual was slightly off putting, but after uninstalling the Wacom drivers and installing the Monoprice drivers this thing has very quickly become a pretty amazing little tool. Little to no lag, it works amazingly with stuff like SAI and Open Canvas, reads all sorts of pressure sensitivity levels and frankly it kicks MAJOR ASS.
If you're looking for a budget tablet that ISN'T a Wacom, this is definitely your best choice, and save for a very few minor issues that are hardly a deal breaker? You'll be hard pressed to find a better deal. And honestly, 50 dollars for an amazing piece of hardware as opposed to spending 500 on a pretty good piece of hardware? Well, it's really not that hard of a choice to make.
If you're not convinced, there's this handy little review by an real professional who swears by the thing now over his Yiynova and his Cintiq. HIS CINTIQ.

3) Tell you my first memory of you.
4) Ask you a question.
5) Tell you something I like about you.
6) Tell you the object that is in front of me.
7) Dare you to do this yourself in your Journal!
I dare no one at all to do this but if you wanna post up go right ahead!

SO I BEAT LA MULANA
General | Posted 13 years agoFinal time was at around 20 hours, and it only took me 4 tries to take down Mother. I am immensely pleased by this, and honestly knowing that the game IS as hard as it was is a great delight to me. Seriously, if you have any interesting in Metroidvania type games, go get it NOW and vote for it on Steam Greenlight while you're at it. Seriously, go now. It's 5 dollars on Playism right now, you sincerely have no reason NOT to get it.

Appropriate attitude when facing the New Year
General | Posted 13 years agoWhat Defines Me
General | Posted 13 years agoEveryone has a trait that they adhere to, something that they can hold onto that defines them as a person over all else. Some choose pride; an admirable trait that keeps them strong and above all, indomitable. Some value vanity, which while not a lesser trait, can be a source of strength as self-service and gratification can lead to the most successful and stalwart of individuals.
My defining aspect, what I use to create who I am, what I am as a human being above all else? What makes me tick and pushes me ever onward instead of flopping over and dying like so many dull, lackwitted creatures in this world?
Loyalty. I value loyalty and trust over all else. I don't give it out freely, in fact I'm actually pretty afraid to trust most people, and I'm actually reticent to give it out.
When I do though? Make no mistake that you are someone that I value. I would never hurt or betray anyone that I care for, never intentionally, and I consider this a strength, because when you're loyal to someone, you have no fear. Only the desire to see them happy, to see them succeed.
So when I say that you are my friend? Take that to mean the most sincerest of meanings. That I love you, and I never want to see you in pain or suffer.
This gives me strength. This is what defines me. Your happiness. I am no one's better, simply a friend, and I most certainly am never anyone's bitch.

Hard to express
General | Posted 13 years agoHow do you convey the message that all you ever wanted to do is care before it's too late? That all you ever wanted was to let them know that you think the world of them before something goes wrong; before you let your own mind bring you down with it's own terror, it's own inadequacies and problems?
How do you tell all the people in your life that you wish you could have been a better person for them, that all you ever wanted was for then to be happy before it's too late?

General | Posted 13 years agoI'm going to take a shot of Jack Daniels for every journal I see that says 'FUCK OBAMA' or 'OBAMA IS THE DEVIL' or 'THE COUNTRY IS RUINED NOW' or something along those line.
Seriously, you're going to make Fur Affinity a forum for your immaturity because you can't have polite discourse about your grievances with who was elected.
That kind of petty bullshit makes me sick to my stomach. Valid discussions, and a polite, sincere exchange of ideas? I am totally for that, but when you spew aimless vitriol and hatred for the sake of it?
Fuck you people that take this approach. I'm not waxing semantics or anything when I say this; shame on you for being that kind of low, baseless human being.
Let's at least TRY and pretend we're all mature adults here so we don't hasten my demise due to literary and alcohol poisoning.
Bets are saying that I'll be dead in 2 hours following these rules. Takers? >:C

What my friends mean to me
General | Posted 13 years agoThere are two kinds of people that I tend to meet in my exploits around the internet, and pretty much only two: Those that I stay loyal and stand by pretty much forever, and those who I just don't feel anything for. It's pretty strange, but I have a 6th sense about these things, and by and large with the laws of averages on how it's gone thus far, I've learned to not discount the validity of this feeling.
Here's what it boils down to: There are people I've tried talking with, but prior to engaging in conversation with them? I usually don't really have a feeling that it'll work out. Not that it'll be a disaster, just no spark, no real inherent sensation that I'll be able to relate to the person. Which is fine and all, there's nothing wrong with not really connecting with someone else, it's just a lack of chemistry.
A great majority of the people I know seem to be great artists, but I never make it a point to try and cozy up to them and suck up for free artwork. It's not who I am, it's not what I am, and frankly it makes me uncomfortable to even suggest concepts and ideas, not because I don't want to share with them, but because it'd be insinuating myself upon their time and talents. I've even tried testing this, trying to talk with people I don't have the initial connection with, and yeah, we'll talk but there's nothing -REAL- nothing that would mean an actual emotional connection.
And then there are folks who I meet, and to me at least... Something happens. An ignition if you will, some kind of spark. I can't quantify it, I can't explain it, and I've the feeling that it's not something I -want- to try and rationalize, but when there's that feeling, I follow through with my instincts and go with it.
And my life, as it is, is that much richer for it.
So this is just a shout out, a message to anyone I know, who knows me, and generally the people that I feel for...
You are everything to me. You are my friends, the ones I choose to let into my heart and my life. You are the people that make my meager life worth living, what keep me going in these times where I feel so lost.
Friends are family -you- choose. I take this statement very seriously. You all know who you are.

Killers, Thieves and Lawyers
General | Posted 13 years agoI love Tom Waits. Very little compares to the macabre tones of Beetlejuice having downed a fifth of bourbon and gargling gravel. Something so deliciously DELIGHTFUL.
Cookie Monster is the only proper puppet analogue for him, really.
I mean, it's only natural.
Xotchal needs more love

Comment on this Journal, and I'll...
1. Tell you something I learned about by looking at your FA page for 13 seconds
2. Tell you a colour you remind me of
3. Tell you my first memory of you
4. Ask you a question
5. Tell you something I like about you
6. Give you a nickname
7. Tell you the object that is to the left of me
8. Dare you to do this yourself in your journal
Time to cheese it before Johnny Law breaks my balls.

Field Trip through Anor Londo
General | Posted 13 years ago"Came to a sudden halt when I encountered Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough. I managed to survive for a grand total of 15 seconds before I was skewered, shocked, and then sat on by the fat one after it smashed my head through my tummy with it's massive fuck-off hammer. Finding myself back at the bonfire, I proceeded to summon Solaire, aka Sunbro, and charged back into the fray. Of course, I neglected to account for the fact that I'm squishy as all hell and again was sat on by the smiling fat bastard.
I called the pair Biggie Smalls after the first encounter, but I'm now referring to this tag team of terror as THE ASSHOLE BRIGADE."
Seriously, fuck these two. There's about 18 levels of bullshit going on here in this fight and I'm not pleased with ANY OF IT.
