I've met with my study partner, made 300+ flash cards, reviewed it countless times.
and STILL I feel like it's a hopeless effort on my part.

Posted 16 years agoToday, I realized that I don't need a blood family. Family isn't determined by those simple ties. it's determined by love.
I've made new friends, and gained a new family. They'll keep me strong, and I'll keep them strong. I've found a new family in the friends I've made. I know that they have my back, and they will stand by me. They are my strength.
Therefore, I am enlightened. Let come what may, I can handle it. I'll come out the other end standing strong, prepared for what is next to come.

Posted 16 years agoSo today, I get a phone call from my sister, explaining to me that our Mother, who until now has stood behind me through almost everything, has really been rather cold and downtrodden in her personal opinion of me.
Apparently, she believes that I am wasting my time in college, and that I will soon flunk out and end up at a dead end job living at home.
See, hearing this for years from my father, one would think I would be used to it. NO. Because even though I received this sort of verbal abuse from my old man, my mother supported my decisions and allowed me to follow my own path.
So now that I'm standing here, broken emotionally, with a knife in my back I truly realize how alone I am.
Apparently, she believes that I am wasting my time in college, and that I will soon flunk out and end up at a dead end job living at home.
See, hearing this for years from my father, one would think I would be used to it. NO. Because even though I received this sort of verbal abuse from my old man, my mother supported my decisions and allowed me to follow my own path.

Posted 16 years agoToday I helped a friend of mine, she was leaving class with me and it was pouring. I had an umbrella and she didn't so I walked around with her for like 30 minutes while she did whatever she needed to do, and I kept her dry :3

Posted 16 years agoI got to talk to the guy who's car got flooded last night, no permanent damage. He only needs to go have it checked for some wiring issues. Other than that, his car runs fine. Nothing got damaged, except for a lone CD case.

It got particularly bad tonight, a few people's cars got flooded when the drains by the road to campus stopped draining, and flooded the parking lot. We had to go help push some cars out of the water. Feel bad for that one guy though, it was his birthday today, and his car got ruined.

Posted 16 years agoWell, I'm Derick, I've been a furry for around 6 months now, just got into the fandom, I'm a rabbit by nature. I draw, write, play guitar, love video games, and movies. I'm a freshman in college this year, college life is really awesome, living on campus is the way to go, it gives you so much more experience, and you make life long friends.
