Well...it's April 16th in the UK with GMT, so I'm officially 25 years old today. I don't remember if I made birthday journals before or not.

Something bad happened yesterday and the day before. So if I sound down and depressed, it's cos of that. But I'm not going anywhere. I've told a few people about it but not everyone I've ever spoken to. I don't think I should post it here because it may trigger bad memories for people and the last thing I want is for someone else to feel terrible.

So if you'd like to contact me about it, I will disclose it to you. If not, it won't change anything between us. I get wanting to avoid hearing bad news or drama in this fandom (it's not fandom drama in this case by the way, it's a personal tragedy). Either way, I hope April 16th for you is a good day.

Hi, all! So, my birthday is April 16th and I'm hoping to get something for it! I'm a model train guy, so the choice was obvious!
I pre-ordered Accurascale's Class 31 on a payment plan since around October last year. Of the total of £170, I've paid £130 towards it. That means there's just £40 to go!

Because it's a pre-order, there's no timeframe on the release, so I can't guarantee I'll get it on my birthday. Still, it'd be lovely to look forward to and it'd be a wonderful gift! Class 31's are my favourite diesel locomotives!

Hello, everybody

So, to maybe stave off my anxiety, I'll go ahead and write an update. I apologise if it's long or maybe a bit boring!

Right now, I'm on medication that was prescribed to me in February. It takes a few months to have an effect, but I kind of already feel a lot less anxious. Still, whenever normality changes, it can set it off again. I don't like to talk about the exact details (not because it's personal and super secret), because I don't want to seem like a massive idiot or potentially crazy.

In short, it's health anxiety and fears that things could lead to a lethal illness. Panic attacks used to be pretty bad, but now they're rare. However, it does mean that when they do happen now, they're more extreme cos I'm more sensitive to them, I guess.

Doesn't mean I don't worry about things any more, just that they're not causing extreme panic.

Anyway, with that explained, lets talk about model railways for a bit! So I'm in a model railway club in my town and we currently have about 12 members. I'm the secretary, so I manage the paperwork and attendance figures and such. Also I manage the minutes and records for the meetings we have every week.

I'm sure they won't mind me talking about it here. I know that nobody on FA will be able to attend, but if I can get some pictures of what we're working on, I'll definitely post them.

I'm hoping to build my own model railway, too. Not gonna be insanely huge, but decently sized and that'll be something to update you on, too. So far, I've had a mixed experience when collecting model trains and some have had to be sold cos of personal finances.

I still have two which I'll be keeping, though! It's worth mentioning I'm a diesel fanatic. Steam trains are cool, but I don't have much interest in collecting those. I just say each to their own!
The first is a Class 20 in British Rail Blue, numbered 20 052, that being the 2004 tooled version from Bachmann. That one is a really smooth runner in my experience and I got it used, too. It's definitely a keeper, for sure.

The second is a Class 60 in Railfreight Metals Sector livery, numbered 60 008 and named 'Moel Fammau', being the Lima version from the 90s. Old-fashioned motor in that one, but I've got it running fine and it's satisfactory for me. Moel Fammau is the highest hill in the Clwydian Range in Wales and today is spelt as Moel Famau. I think there's a lot of historical names for it.

Currently, I've got a pre-order for the Accurascale Class 31, numbered 31 409 and a deposit on a Class 24 from Bachmann, numbered 24 035. Super excited for those and I might post a review of those when I get them. Could even be a video review, but I don't have a proper camera, so I'll just be using my phone.
