No hugs at AC please
Posted 6 years agoI cant wait to see everyone at AC! BUT this year please no hugs. I am wearing a portable heart monitor and you could damage it costing me thousands of dollars and possibly also injuring me in the process.
For most hugs wouldn't be a huge issue but because I am 5'2" and tiny some people think its cute to hug me supper hard and pick me up. At FWA someone did this so hard they injured my back and I was in pain for weeks. Please do not hug anyone like this especially someone you don't know who is already encumbered by a costume. Someone does this to me I'm kicking them in the groin. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Closing Kandorin Creations commissions indefinitely
Posted 7 years agoNow, I know this sounds big and scary but it's not I assure you. I am not going to become a pre-made only company, however, I have thought long and hard about this and it seems to be the only reasonable course of action. THIS IS NOT PERMANENT.
Why?
Because it has become clear to me that I have too much on my plate. I have too many people in queue and because of this there will ALWAYS be someone waiting too long for their suit to absolutely not fault of their own. It is stressful to me me to know I am letting them down and it isn't fair to them who have done everything right. They paid in full up front, they are a delight to work with and have been ridiculously patient with me. The two things I have always prided myself on the most are my customer service and quality. But due to wait times my customer service has suffered. This fact was brought out from behind my own denial and to my attention by one of my commissioners who couldn't have been more eloquent about it, and I couldn't agree with them more. I let them down and that is not something I take lightly.
What do I plan to do?
Well it's quite simple really. I will stay closed till my queue is empty and start over fresh. I want to get everyone who is still in my queue completed and sent out before I take on anything new commission wise. When my queue is empty I will open again.
What will I do differently?
This will be the biggest change, I will only be opening for a handful of suits at a time, finishing them, then opening again. My hope is that this way wait times will be minimal and I can open more frequently. Less on my plate will keep me from getting overwhelmed and keep me working faster.
How will you pay bills in the mean time?
Pre-mades. I will be throwing a pre-made into the mix about once a month to keep all of my bills paid without adding to my queue. I can always set a pre-made aside to work on commissions if need be.
How long do you think you will be closed?
This is the one that's harder to answer. I want to be open by MFF. BUT if my commissions are not done it wont be happening. If I think it will happen sooner you will all know! I was truly excited to open this month, but after a great deal of thought and a final push from my commissioner toward my reality, I had to admit to myself that my commissioners and myself would suffer while I scrambled to keep up.
To those whom I have talked to recently about commissions,
I am sorry. I know this will be disappointing and I hate doing this to you. The cold hard fact is that if I wait to open and take your commission when everything I have is already done or I take your money now and get to it as soon as I can you will likely be waiting just as long. I would just as soon not be holding on to your money for a year before I could turn your beautiful characters into physical creations. I WANT to work with you. But you also deserve to not pay for my mistakes. I hope I still have the privilege of working with you all some day.

NO HARASSMENT POLICY
Posted 10 years agoReally two of these journals in a row I need to post? People you are better then this I know it. Instead of disappointing me for once try to impress me. It's far more pleasing goal on both ends.
I WILL NOT TOLERATE HARASSMENT OF MY COMMISSIONERS IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM!! IF YOU ARE HARASSING THEM YOU WILL BE BLOCKED AND MY COMMISSIONERS WILL BE ADVISED TO DO THE SAME ACROSS THE BOARD! IF YOU ARE ONE OF MY COMMISSIONERS YOUR COMMISSION WILL BE TERMINATED AND YOU WILL BE REFUNDED AT MY EARLIEST CONVENIENCE!
Refunds will NOT include the down payment as per my TOS. That portion is non refundable as it immediately goes into material purchasing.
Harassing other commissioners because they got theirs first, or how long they waited vs. you or any other douchbaggery is simply unacceptable and is something I will not tolerate. I will also not tolerate someone who is not willing to talk to me directly and actively tries to send other to harass me in their favor. Be an adult and talk to me in person, privately as your transaction with me is just that, a transaction between you and me and nobody else. I will not tolerate slander either, weather it be of me or anyone else.
Be nice to others,
be kind,
even those you hate deserve a level of respect,
if the fight is merited fight fair or you look like the jerk in the end.

NO SOLICITING
Posted 10 years agoThis is certainly not something I ever thought I'd have to put on my page.
NO SOLICITING!! - NO I will not spread your kick-starter, go fund me, or anything else around so do NOT publicly or privately ask me to do so.
Private notes are for my COMMISSIONERS ONLY!!!
DO NOT send me notes with links to go fund me's etc asking me to donate or use my watchers to spread the word. After this day should this happen again you will be blocked. The ONLY time I will spread out and solicit things like this is if it is a personal friend asking for help, AND if i feel the aid is warranted. I WILL NOT SOLICIT S FUNDING FOR SOMEONE I DON'T KNOW ASKING ME TO HELP FUND A FURSUIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE I DON'T KNOW. This is something that has been happening to me a lot lately and it's rather insulting to have someone talk to you once just so you know their name and them have them ask this rather then to genuinely want to get to know you.
I am a suit builder, that's what I do, and something I enjoy, not WHO I am. I am not a machine and I do have feelings. I get sick, I get sad, I loose loved ones, and I need a hug every now and then too. I AM NOT A MEDIA HUB TO SPREAD YOUR SELFISH SHIT, GET A DAMNED TWITTER!
***
I am sorry to get ranty, something I normally do not do, but its pretty hard when you spend three days out of town at a funeral with countless family members who have just lost an Uncle, Brother, Father, Grandfather, and friend to a horrible illness to come home to a note like that. It's downright insulting. You act like this persons life will end if they "don't get their dream suit". Guess what, it wont.

Live stream help please
Posted 10 years agoSo, I would very much like to be able to live stream on occasion as opposed to tinychat so I can stream movies while I work. However; every time I click on the LS client, it opens its little loading bar, them promptly crashes and defaults to the "send error report" page. What do I do to fix this? Yes I have googled it and the few things that did some up included some degree of coding...I promise you if I try this my computer will explode. I am computer dumb dumb here. I have uninstalled it, re-installed it...three times. I tried chrome and firefox, I restarted my computer after each install, closed all other running programs. ...I'm burnt...someone please help me. I have been coming back to this to fight with it for almost three months now...I give up doing it on my own.
Duct Tape Dummy Requirements and Tutorials ADDED TO>>>AGAIN
Posted 10 years agoLet me start off by saying once again that this in not an attack on any of my commissioners. This is taking the opportunity to remind people of my requirements as they are constantly not met.
When it comes to commissions the one area there seems to be issues EVERY time is when it comes to the DTD. I have a list of very firm rules when it comes to DTD's as they are what determines the ultimate fit of your body suit. For your sake and my sanity READ through them carefully and make sure they are met.
In this case it was once again a DTD that was too thin. Here are some thing that will help you determine if it's too thin.
*If I can see light though it, it is too thin
*If it weighs less then four rolls of duct tape, it is too thin
*If the painters suit is visible, it is too thin
Take fours rolls of duct tape, and put them on a scale. If your finished DTD weighs less then this OR even better if you have any of these four rolls left. IT IS TOO THIN. IT should take more then four rolls. Please also take note that I am talking about 45yard rolls and NOT the 10yard rolls that come in pretty colors. If you use the colored rolls that are 10yards it means you need A LOT more then four!

Duct Tape Dummy Requirements and Tutorials
http://www.plus3defense.com/how-to-make-a-dtd Note: This tutorial was made by another fursuit builder and varies slighting from my requirements!! You must build DTD to go over your heels!
http://www.roofur.com/commission/dtd_info.php Note: This tutorial was made by another fursuit builder and varies slighting from my requirements!! You must build DTD on a painters suit and not pajamas!
*DTD's must be at LEAST three layers thick. If they are too thin they tend to fall apart and stretch making them useless. Note: if you hold them up to the light and can see any light coming through them they are too thin! You should not be able to see any of the material from the painters suit coming through the tape. Another way to know if it is too thin is if it doesn't weigh anything. DTD's should take up at LEAST four standard rolls of duct tape.
*DTD's MUST be taped back together, NEATLY, before being shipped to me! If a DTD arrives that has not been taped together or has been taped back together weakly (as in it will break apart if I stuff it) You will be charged a $50 service fee for me having to take my time and materials to assemble it. If It is too thin and I need to add layers there will have a $100 service fees. If you do not wish to pay these fees then be prepared to make and ship another one! (Or just do it right the first time..cause it saves us both a lot of hassle!)
*They must be made over a painters suit, not pajamas or other clothing. Some clothing can be elastic and will warp the duct tape. If the painters suit is not long enough for your arms and legs you can use things like paper towel or plastic bags to extend it.
*The DTD is REQUIRED to go down over your heels at the least. The entire foot is preferred.
***ATTENTION!!** DTD's must meet standards to be used. If it does not, it will either need to be repaired or be thrown out and you will be asked to make a new one. If I have to repair it there will be a service fee. I have received too many that have been unusable or would not provide accurate dimensions for the commissioners body. I am not willing to put my time and your money into something that very well may not fit due to the inadequacies of poorly made DTD.

I am now on FURGATHER!
Posted 11 years agoWhat is Furgather?
It's basically a furry exclusive Facebook. It launched earlier this month and currently mirrors much of facebooks layout only much more streamlined in my opinion. As the team continues to work on the site it will gain more and more originality and more fun features.
So far out of all of the other furry exclusive networking sites I've checked out this one is by far my favorite. At less then a month old it already has over 4000k members and is quickly growing (That number may very well be much higher already!)
I strongly recommend checking it out!
Don't forget to friend me to see building progress updates that I don't post on FA, random keeatah daily life silliness, and much more!

ATTN: NEW DTD REQUIREMENTS!!!!!
Posted 11 years agoHere are my current requirements:
Duct Tape Dummy Requirements:
*DTD's must be at LEAST three layers thick. If they are too thin they tend to fall apart and stretch making them useless. Note: if you hold them up to the light and can see any light coming through them they are too thin! You should not be able to see any of the material from the painters suit coming through the tape.
*They must be made over a painters suit, not pajamas or other clothing. Some clothing can be elastic and will warp the duct tape. If the painters suit is not long enough for your arms and legs you can use things like paper towel or plastic bags to extend it.
*The DTD must go down over your heels at the least. The entire foot is preferred.
*When cutting the DTD off, please only cut as much as you need to get out. It should not be a puzzle to put back together.
***ATTENTION!!** DTD's must meet standards to be used. If it does not, it will be thrown out and you will be asked to make a new one. If I have to repair it there will be a $50 service fee. I have received too many that have been unusable or would not provide accurate dimensions for the commissioners body. I am not willing to put my time and your money into something that very well may not fit due to the inadequacies of poorly made DTD.
WHAT IS BEING ADDED!!-
New rules:
*DTD's MUST be taped back together, NEATLY, before being shipped to me! If a DTD arrives that has not been taped together or has been taped back together weakly (as in it will break apart if I stuff it) You will be charged a $50 service fee for me having to take my time and materials to assemble it.
Amended rules:
*DTD's must be at LEAST three layers thick. If they are too thin they tend to fall apart and stretch making them useless. Note: if you hold them up to the light and can see any light coming through them they are too thin! You should not be able to see any of the material from the painters suit coming through the tape. Another way to know if it is too thin is if it doesn't weigh anything. DTD's should take up at LEAST four standard rolls of duct tape.
*The DTD is REQUIRED to go down over your heels at the least. The entire foot is preferred.
WHY:
Taped together-
~This saves me a considerable amount of time when working on suits. As some may know I have had surgery on my right wrist (I'm right handed) where they removed one of the bones. This will never get better and because of the pain it causes me doing mass duct taping gets really painful really fast. When I have to tape a DTD back together that's pretty much all I do that day as afterwards I hurt too much to do anything else.
~%50 percent of my commissioners have failed to cut their DTD in the correct places. I have revived three different DTD's that were cut so horridly I could not figure out how to put them back together. DTD's should be cut down each leg and down either the back or chest ONCE! However, now that the DTD maker will be the one taping it back together you can cut it off however the heck you want...have fun. I am not putting together any more puzzles.
Thickness-
~If I can put it on a scale and tell it weighs as much as one and a half rolls...don't tell me you used six. If it fits in something the size of a shoe box IT'S TOO THIN. I can not stuff something this thin and have it not fall apart or stretch.
Over the heels-
~This is especially important if you are getting digigrade (which is %95 of my commissioners!) The feet for digigrade suits have a significant portion of the digigrade padding directly on them. So in order to make the body pattern I need to be able to put the feet ON THE DTD. If your DTD stops at the ankles there is NOTHING for me to put your feet on an I can not properly pattern your body.
I'm sorry I have been so quiet Also Will be at FM
Posted 11 years agoIFC was good, I wasn't feeling it for the first day and a half but once I got out of my funk I had a blast hanging out with everyone and test running Omen. (There will be pictures after FM)
I WILL BE AT FM!!! (Furry Migration) I am slowly working on con stock for the con as I have a dealers table there. All commissions will resume normally after I get back from the con. (I had two cons two weeks apart life has been a mad house here. I'ts also why I am so far behind on notes. I will be reachable on and off till Weds. night when I essentially leave for the con. (I wanted to stream the last few days as well as tonight and tomorrow but I managed to pick up con crud AGAIN at IFC so I have been in bed the last couple of days wishing for death. If I can find the energy to work I will but as I have already woken up on the floor of my workroom once today I don't see that as highly probable today.
I wish you all the best!

In bed with a fever, week work plan, notes
Posted 11 years agoI wont be around most of the day I know I still have a few notes to go through so please be patient with me you have not been forgotten!! (unless it's marked as red and I haven't responded, this means I was an idiot, opened it, then wasn't in a position to reply and forgot to do so later. If this is the case please feel free to send it again so my dumb ass can make sure I respond to you. <3 )This weeks Projects are Omen and Riddle, I will try to get something done a bit later in the day. Cheers!

Blue eyed white
white and grey spotted tabby
Siamese
any other light suggestions?

Posted 11 years agoThis is not one of my suits or even suiters but I still want to help give them a chance. I just cannot fathom why people do this. I HAVE had one of my own stolen and it took me four years to find her. No one should have to go through that.

Back home and making life changes.
Posted 11 years agoAfter a long time a other shop I'm finally back home for a long period of time. I will be much easier to get a hold of now so if you have any questions feel free to note me or hit me up on skype.
On a side note, I am sorry for being so hard to get a hold of the last month and I am sorry if I have made anyone feel uneasy. I am trying my best to kick it into full gear and get everyone their products in a timely fashion. Thank you for everyone who has been so patient and understanding and for those who haven't been so patient, your feelings are not without merit and I am sorry I have made you feel this way. I have had to stop and look at myself a lot over the last month and realize just how much of a ball of shit my current process is. Now I'm not bashing my quality but rather the time it takes me to finish a commission. It's not the commission that takes all of the time up in my day it's me worrying about it, or worrying about what one needs to be done first, worrying about this that or the other thing half of which do not even pertain to my work and then worrying to the point that I'm so stressed out I simply shut down and nothing gets done that day. This shit has to stop with me. I am not yelling at any of my commissioners, I am publicly yelling at myself. partially because people who have spent money on me deserve explanations for the delays and mostly because if I do I can no longer deny my problems as a human being. I want to be better, I want to make my friends and family proud, I want to make my commissioners happy they chose me, and I want to make myself a person who I like rather then the person who goes to bed every night cursing myself for all of the things that should have gotten done that day. I call bullshit on myself. Today is a new day and while I know I can't fix all of my flaws over night, I'm done with my own bullshit. I will be in my shop all day cleaning it up and then starting production as it should be and working till its time for bed.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this,

Sorry I have been so quiet...
Posted 11 years agoI do still have a lot of notes to get back to and I am sorry there has been a wait for replies. It came to my attention some time ago that I do not have enough space in my work shop to do many things required for fursuit building, mainly bodies. That is why at this time I am out of town at another builds house who has considerably more space to work and lay out body patterns. I have two bodies with me to work on as well as the two masks seen in teaser images. Until I can afford to move my time will likely be broken up between these two shops in order to better my production. This however, also means that when I am not at my "home base" I will be considerably quieter online. (at least until the guest computer is repaired, after which I will be my normal noisy self) I do try not answer notes when I'm away from home because I save commissioners notes to their own folders so that no information gets lost. When I am away I can not do this and things get lost or forgotten if they are not saved and people find me asking them the same questions over and over again.
I will be home some time next week and I will power through all of my notes. <3

MCFC and notes!
Posted 11 years agoPlease give me a couple of days to catch up on note. In pure after con fashion I am swamped per normal...
To answer a few right here:
Kelsters base is finished and ready for pick up
the Black leopard is almost done and will be ready for shipping on Monday (My sewing machine is out of commission and I needed to get a loaner from a friend to finish it.) The head is done save the ears.
any other questions will be answered as I get to the notes one by one. There are A LOT of them!
MCFC was great! I wasn't originally planning on going, hence I didn't post saying I was going to be out of town. I made some new friends and got to spend time with some old ones as well. It was great to see you all! I will post some pictures from the con in the next couple of days. Things are moving a bit slow here as I got con crud as soon as I got home...lol

Holy Notes Batman......Getting back to people
Posted 11 years agoOkay, Finally back from FWA and in the work shop. As you may have guessed but the title...I have a TON of notes. I will be answering them as quickly as possible so please be patient and I will get to everyone as soon as I possibly can. I do have some errands that will take me away from the shop for a portion of today so I will most likely still be responding to notes tomorrow.
*****If you ever note me and do not get a reply, please for the love of (insert word of your choice here) send it again. I have a habit of trying to read notes right away on my phone but I'm not always in a position where I can answer a that moment. Then when I do get to my computer it's already marked as read and I forget about it. Please do not throw a fit saying I'm ignoring you or post a public comment in either my submissions, journals, or shouts. As I have not brought this to attention before if you have done this, let bygones be bygones I'm not gonna hold it against you. I will do my best to not read notes until I can sit down and answer them right away.

FWA!!
Posted 11 years agoAs of Monday night I will be out of town. We are heading out for FWA on Tuesday with an overnight stay at Mammoth cave on the way to the con.
I have a dealers table at this con! I will be selling:
Finished masks
Cut/hinged feline blanks
Uncut fox blanks
Cut/ hinged Fox blanks
Some resin claws
Feline tongues
canine tongues
Rokemi tongues
silicone feline noses as well as the molds
Pre painted eyes
a few sets of paw pads (neon yellow, gold, pink, black/pink)
As well as possibly a few "full kits" that include a cut/hinged resin base, tongue, teeth, eyes
Other bits and bobs (little trinkets possibly a decorated fedora)
ALSO!!! I AM STILL CASTING CLAWS FOR THE CON!! If you know you will be there and really want to buy a specific color please let me know! I have large feline claws and small canine right now. I will try to get to any that get listed in the comments! (I AM NOT ASKING FOR SUGGESTIONS! If you list claws it means you are going to be at FWA for pick up and are interested, but not required of course, in buying claws in a specific color.)
SEE YOU THERE!!
***As for my suiters! I want to have a photo shoot at the con! If you will be there please note me and I will give you my phone number so we can meet up!
