Dang! It's been a while since I posted an update on what's been going on. A year ago! I'm sorry about that ya'll. So here's my update!

It has been a CRAZY year so far. I have had a ton of health issues, but foremost is tremors. I've been having tremors in my hands for a long time, but this year, it has gotten progressively worse. It's gotten to the point where everything is hard to do, especially drawing, but even eating! The doctors prescribed meds and diagnosed it as something I don't remember, but it basically means they don't know why the tremors are happening. HOWEVER! I suspected it was tension and my therapist has helped me figure out how to relax. And the tremors are going away. I'm totally excited to be able to draw and especially cross stitch again.

There have been a lot of other health issues between James and I. We're also struggling financially. We're trying to start bankruptcy, but we have to get the money for the lawyer first. It sucks. Our pets are not faring well, either. Our little sable ferret girl, Cocoa developed a mass near her rear leg a few months back. We went through surgery to have it removed, but the vet said if there's even the smallest bit left in the muscle, it will grow back. I felt a lump two days ago. I'm praying it's just internal scar tissue, but I don't think so. I've felt her several times since the surgery and never felt it. If it is the tumor, we have no choice but to put her to sleep. My cockatiel, Sprite, has redeveloped an air bubble on her back. It happened several years ago and she got better. So we have to take her back into the vet. My siamese cat, Slush, had a urinary blockage. He's fine now, but we have to keep his stress levels way low and put him on better food. My dog, Bitte, had a fluid pocket show on the side of his head. Luckily, it was just a clear fluid and it's nothing to be worried about. We have 8 pets (3 ferrets, 3 cats, 1 dog and 1 bird) and so far, 4 of them have had issues!!!

Which leads me to this. I'm embarrassed to have created a GoFundMe. I feel deflated, scared and hopeless. I'm not expecting anything from ya'll, but if you do give, I would be beyond thankful. I might be able to attempt some art for you, but I don't know if I will be able to. I would try! So yeah...

Hello all! Long time, no speak! Good news, bad news and meh news!

Bad news: Initially, when hurricane Irma was at it's worst, we were unsure. As it crept closer inland, we were almost certain our house would be destroyed by a Cat 4 or 5. So we packed 3 ferrets, 3 cats, one cockatiel and one dog, along with our computers and other valuables we could into our van and hightailed it to Tennessee, my home town and my family. That was weeks ago. Irma faked us out and it was only a Cat 1, if that, that went across our home. So no damage done! Yay! The house was without power for about a week, so we lost all our food stuffs, but FEMA helped everyone out with that. We shall be returning home this weekend. Yay!

Good (great?) News: I keep going through my Facebook photos and seeing all the drawings I did in the past. It's been over 9 months since I've drawn, but seeing all those pieces of art is sparking me. I think it's time to pick it back up. I know it probably won't be pretty in the beginning, but damnit, I want to create again! So cross your furry fingers that you'll be seeing more from me.

Meh News: Health-wise, I've got a lot going on. I'm not like horrible dying or anything, but I've got a new doctor who is very thorough, so she's actually making sure I get the specialist help I need. So yay to that as well.

Not a lot has been going on. I'm still battling with my depression and anxiety. It seems to be getting better, but it certainly hasn't helped with the drawing thing. I have some Pokemon drawings I've got sitting in there, ready to be scanned and colored, but you see how well that's going.

So yeah...nothing exciting. I'm sewing a Lot again. It takes up a lot of my time while awake.

I've had a pretty awesome one. Got a new gaming computer. This means my art programs are back. I've been doodling with SAI in the past few months, but now all the cool brushes and effects are back with Photoshop. So hopefully you'll be seeing more from me. More melty, my friends??? ;)

I'm so freaking scared to make this run on my own (well, with my dog). I am NOT making the whole 14 hour run in one day. I'll be stopping in Opelika, AL overnight, which is about 6-7 hours into the trip. And I'll be stopping in Murfreesboro, TN to visit a friend. Might spend the night with them. We shall see. SO!

I am planning on taking my paper, etc to TRY to do some drawing. I won't promise anything, but I kinda' am itching to draw still.

Well then. It's been kind of a crazy time. I won't go into most of it, but I was in the hospital in December for a high white blood count. They pumped me full of vancomysin, an anti-biotic. Well that was a bad idea. It killed off all the good bacteria in me and gave me C-diff. Nasty bathroom stuff. So back into the hospital I go for that! That was January. Now last Tuesday, my doc ordered labs (more blood drawn). I happened to look online at the results and my white blood count was 18.8! YIKES! I was obviously concerned. When I started having abdominal and back pain on Saturday, it scared me more. Finally Sunday, I couldn't take it. In I went. And out went my damn gall bladder on Tuesday. It seems it was FULL of stones. Like bad. I finally came home on Wednesday, but haven't been doing anything but sleeping and taking it easy. I have 12 staples in muh belly! Moving around is kinda' painful, but no so much. Like a bad bruise in my stomach. SO! I'm kinda' in and out of things for a while.

I thank all of my watchers for sticking with me. Things haven't been quite so good recently and the fact you're still with me brings me joy.

I'm behind on a lot of things. I've been in the hospital again. I was in from Dec. 4-7th and because of all the antibiotics they gave, it caused something called C-Diff (shortened name). Basically all the antibiotics killed off the good bacteria in me and I've been having diarrhea since then. So back in I went. Good thing is I had my own room this time, though! lol They didn't want me to contaminate anyone else and everytime a nurse came in, they put on a throw away gown and gloves. It's not like C-diff is airborne. Basically, they'd have to come in contact with poo particles and ingest them. BLECH. But I washed my hands like THOROUGHLY all the time. But meh.

I slept for 16 hours last night because of not sleeping hardly any while in the hospital. Now I'm all dizzy and kinda' walking weird. I think I have some kind of inner ear infection or something. Weird, right? I'm on all the antibiotics and I get sick! Argh!

Anywho... I'm alright. Not great, but alright.

I hope everyone had a blast over the holidays! Christmas was pretty awesome for me. I got the couch I wanted (is a futon, but anything is better than that old piece previously), I got a NEW laptop (courtesy of my awesome brother), and much more! And surprising my man with some awesome presents was totally satisfying. Did y'all get anything cool???

Not a lot has been happening, other than me finally getting into a doc. I'm anemic and have a thyroid issue. I'm taking more pills now that I think I ever have. But I'm gettin' better. I think I'll go for a walk. But I don't want to go on the cart... Ah hem. Monty Python fart. HA!

Anywho! In order to maybe actually get Christmas cards out in TIME this year, I wanted to go ahead and start compiling the list of names/addresses. So. Other than doctors, doctors, doctors...not much has been going on. We have 3 happy ferrets, Nimbus, Cocoa and Snickelfritz. Sprite, my cockatiel is sorta happy. She's molting currently, so she's always a little more grumpy at this time. Bit, the poodle is still his fat self. And Stormy the basement kitty without a basement is still sleeping in the laundry (clean or dirty).

Eric Storm (James) and I are doing just fine as well. I get regular spankings. ROFL



***************CHRISTMAS CARDS!!! GIVE ME YOUR ADDRESS!!!**********

I realized that the journal about Cumulus was still up. While I don't mind, I think it's better to update now.

Since then, Cumulus' sister/bond sis, went into a depression that first week. The day after, when she realized he wasn't coming back, she'd hardly eat or drink. She constantly slept in her little gator. We held her in the gator, just letting her know we were there for her. Eventually we started taking her outside and even to the pet store once. I think that helped to bring her out of her funk.

Last Sunday, we took in a rescued ferret who we have named Cocoa Pop (with the help of her foster mom). We were told she was found in a pet store, in a wooden box without a way to look out; she was even covered on top. We were told she had been there for about 3 months.

She is 5 months old, has an amazingly lovely coat (we believe she would be considered a milk chocolate sable), and is very playful. We are working on potty training. She is afraid of loud noises, so we're trying to get her over that, but it's not easy with the 4th coming up and all these storms. But it needs to happen. She and Nimbus are doing wonderfully. Lots of hissing still, but I think that's just the way it's gonna be. lol We have had them in separate parts of the cage (we have a 4 lvl Ferret Nation cage, so two levels per ferret), but when we're out there during the day, we open it up so they can mingle. So far, so good!

We're pleasantly pleased with the way things are progressing. We miss Cumulus like mad, but we know he's in a better place. It's so hard to lose something so vibrant of life and that brings such joy. It's hard to lose anyone you love.

We had to put our little boy ferret, Cumulus, to sleep this morning. He had previously been diagnosed with adrenal disease (very common to ferrets). Last night at some point, he started trying to go to the bathroom several times in just a few minutes. It kept on. This morning, we took him in. The vet was able to feel the tumor from the adrenal issue, but below that was a golf ball sized lump which was highly most likely the issue. We basically had 72 hours from whenever he started this and we were already estimated in the 48 hour range. We decided to go ahead and let him pass peacefully.

I didn't have long with my "Stinky", my fat little cloud who was going bald, but the time I did have was more than enough for me to feel the heartbreak of him being gone. He was such a sweetie. He loved giving ferrety kisses (especially when we had just eaten something tasty) and he loved stealing all the toys and stashing them.

He leaves behind his little 'sister', Nimbus, who we will watch diligently for any signs of ferret depression. She has been with him her whole life (as far as we know) and I know she will eventually catch on that he's definitely not coming back. We are having to make the hard decision of getting her a playmate, but it will be some time. We need time to heal our hearts.

Thank you all for you kind words and support. It's never easy to lose a beloved pet, no matter how small, no matter how stinky, no matter how quirky they are in life. Those little quirks are what ties them to our hearts and souls. Being one of our first ferrets, he will definitely hold a special place in our memories. I will be cross stitching his portrait to hang in memorandum.

On another note, Sprite (my cockatiel) is fine. She was scheduled for surgery on March 1, but the week before, I checked for the spot the vet was concerned about and couldn't find it. So we took her in the Friday before surgery and he couldn't find it either. Surgery was cancelled. The air pocket on her back had receded the week before. So... Much anxiety, several trips to the vet, but they never charged us for anything but the first visit. We were lucky.


As far as me other than not drawing? Not much is happening. I lead a damn boring life. No job, no friends to hang with, and anxiety bad enough that I do not like going outside. ... It sounds pretty bad, huh? It kinda' is. But I dunno. Ugh. There's nothing really to say here, I guess. SS, DD.


Anywho. Thanks all for the shouts and staying with me through this non-art time. I'm hopeful it will pass ASAP.

Oh gods. Yesterday, I brought my cockatiel out. I noticed immediately that she has a huge lump on her back. It's covered completely in feathers, but it...sticks out. I freaked out. Seriously. Panic attack of the highest order. Frantic online searches of what this could be. Asked many a bird group on Facebook. My man e-mailed an avian vet, asking what it could be and pricing and for an appointment.

Tomorrow. One pm. The vet said he's pretty sure he knows what it is (based solely on verbal explanation) and she should only require antibiotics. I'm hoping. I'm praying.

** Updates **
I'm still kinda' down when it comes to drawing. I get some ideas every now and then, but...still slow. It's probably going to remain that way until after the new year, as I will be in Tennessee from mid-December until the beginning of Jan. I will try and draw some things during then, but uploads won't happen.
