Fuck I've left the same damn journal up there for 3 years, let's fix that.
So to sum things up real simple like: I've still been plugging away at my Doom mods and steadily trying to get better at doing art. I've also started a patreon to see if I can drum up some more support while I work. I've decided once my two big main mod projects are finished, I'm gonna break out into standalone games, and I'm pretty stoked for that.

May as well throw out another journal. So, video games:

I just got done playing through Serious Sam 3, I was not happy with that shit. They put such an emphasis on conventional weapons that require slow reloads and that just feels dirty in a Serious Sam game, also the laser gun and sniper rifle are hidden weapons. Which is pretty shit. The new enemies are a colossal pain in the dick as well, who the hell thought it'd be a good idea to add a teleporting monster that goes invulnerable and becomes shootable as they begin to SLOW YOUR MOVEMENT AND LOCK YOUR AIMING UP in a game like Serious Sam?

The ending sucked too.

Fallout 4 looks pretty badass, I'm gonna get a PS4 in the near future to play it, Just Cause 3, and MGS5 because all of those look great too, lotta sequels in my near future, funnily enough.

Also wrapped up the first 3 Ratchet and Clank games again recently, god those games are awesome, it's amazing how well they've stood up over the years, though Ratchet 1 sure as hell shows its age in the gameplay with the shitty aiming and inability to pause time when using the weapon wheel.

Mario Maker looks cool as shit, I want that. I need that.

Other than that, I've been dragging my feet on my Doom modding as of late because work's a bitch.

Man, looking back I gotta say this website and this fandom has changed me and affected my life quite a bit. Made a few good friends, found and lost love, found it again. Gotta say I've enjoyed the time I've spent so far, and I plan on sticking around too.

I don't know I just like having journal-based conversations with people and answering questions. For those of you following my mod's progress, I've been fairly silent about my future character plans on the doom forums but I figured I may as well fill you guys in here because that's fun.

The second hero, Kustam, is going to be a tall lanky bastard specializing in ranged weapons, I still don't know WHAT he's going to be though, in terms of appearance other than his height.

the third hero, Samson is going to be a Kobold "alchemist" and I use that in the loosest sense of the term, he got his claws on a bag of holding that gives him a bottomless supply of glass flasks to throw at monsters, along with any other flasks you might find. Not sure about his design though other than he's going to be the shortest and a Kobold because they're cute as hell.

I guess this is equal parts "ask me shit because I'm bored" and blog-posting.

Really I just wanted an excuse to post this, it's a tune that always stuck with me when I played this as a kid.

Holy shit 1996 was nearly twenty years ago what the fuck.

Hngh, I'm so damned torn. I haven't seen one of these "roguelike platformer" games that actually gets one of the more vital parts RIGHT, as in make the world feel alive with the interactivity and how shit reacts to one another, (knock torch over, lights wood bridge on fire, lights goblin on fire, etc), and it looks fun as hell to play.



On the other hand it's early access and I've been burnt by that shit before.

I just caught wind that they're remastering Borderlands 2 and Borderlands the Presequel together as a bundle pack... thing, for the PS4 and Xbone.

I thought the whole point of buying the next gen consoles is to play new shit, not shit that came out less than a year ago.

Boy am I glad I went with a Wii U and PC this generation, so I can play Nintendo's franchises that've been going on for like 20 fucking years on the Wii U and Doom, a game that's legally old enough to drink, on my PC.

I'm pretty sure there's some irony here but I'm too tired to give a crap. All I know is these ports of last gen games to the next gen are incredibly dumb

Just a random thought I'm throwing out here on FA, I stream myself on occasion playing games while yelling at them and the audience. I bounce between all kinds of things, primarily actiony games, as of late it's been Doom, but I'd be willing to embarrass myself in Spelunky, Rogue Legacy, Cave Story+, and a shitload of retro games.

This is also a journal to push off the new years one.

I'd like to think 2014 was a pretty good year for me, what with taking up doom modding and a few other important things that've happened pretty recently, and I welcome 2015, let's make it a good year.

I just did that earlier today, I wound up linking an image of my new sona design to a friend who's not into this community at fucking all.

I was seriously contemplating suicide from extreme embarrassment, thankfully he shrugged it off, but holy shit that was seriously one of the worst things I've done in the past 6 months.

Moral of the story: the "copy link" button in dropbox is a filthy fucking liar, make sure to always right click and cut the link that appears in the prompt box people.

Like your really old journals, I know I still got mine up, and boy I was a bit of a spaz waaay back then. I mean I'm still a spaz now, just not as notably so. The worst part is I'm willing to bet that there's gonna be some folks that not only look back on their own past journals and cringe. But look at my own.

I'm not sure how many of you who follow me particularly care about this sorta thing, but I've been thinking about giving my sona a new species/look.

Maybe a lizard of some kind, I don't know. I'd need to mull it over and maybe grab an artist to draw it out.

Damn man I haven't posted a journal of any kind here in a year. To sum things up quickly what's happened that time:

Lost my job in november, which sucks, spent 6-ish months jobless and trying to search, lack of money and food and I wound up losing quite a bit of weight. That -really- sucked

Picked up doom modding in January to help pass the time and help take my mind off my shitty status, been creating a gameplay mod that's a total labor of love

scored a job at a nearby walmart's electronics department in may, it can be shitty at times but it's better than gamestop, plus I actually get hours over there so now I've been able to afford such luxuries as food.

Other than that, just been modding, playing games, and working. Been feeling kinda lonely as of late, but hey that's par for the course when you live on your own.
