Adding to the list of things I'm not
Posted 7 years agoDead. Totally not dead.
Also not a millionaire or blessed with copious amounts of free time.
But, also not unhappy!

2 years further
Posted 10 years agoSo, it's been about 2 years since my last post.
The extreme basement reno is starting to show signing of finishing. With a little-one scheduled to be on the way in June, I expect that I will have plenty of time to start producing art!
:)
Yes, there may've been some sarcasm there. But it's that happy sarcasm, y'know!
You can tell by the happy face!

Monty Python quote about not being dead.
Posted 13 years agoYou already know how that line goes, so I'll leave it to your far-better-than-my-writing imagination!
But it's true... I haven't been doing much art outside of my day job, but I have done a hefty helping of photography. As I move things forward in real life, part of my plan is to put more paper to pencil.
And yes, I do get the impression that my other (much more daunting construction projects) may be getting closer to an end.
Stay tuned! Don't give up! And for gosh sakes, don't forget your secret decoder ring!

I'm so mad, I'm going contrapposto!
Posted 13 years agoBut never fear, it's just my stance.
Scootch book auction cancelled
Posted 15 years agoThough I had been intending to offer Scootch Books for auction, it seems there are too many technical difficulties involved in getting the book to stay in place and the relative randomness of by dog scootching.
Plus, with all the home reno going on right now there isn't much space to work and folks may not be interested in short-distance scootches as much as a full room scootch.
FINAL WORD: Scootch Books -> Bad Idea.

Still not dead.
Posted 15 years agoCome now, it's not nice to act so disappointed!
And yes, some day I will finish working on my basement, which means not only will I have time for art, but I'll have a workspace as well.
What's 2 years, anyway?

Hurt hand
Posted 15 years agoYesterday I hurt the hand that I DO NOT draw with. Because touch-typing is now a bit more laborious this means that perhaps I'll try drawing with my good hand!
Or I just needed a new journal entry.

Define my image, will you?!
Posted 16 years agoSo people're posting a request that people let them know what their defining image is.
I think this is sort've interesting, but also a bit of a belly-rub.
What I would prefer would be for folks to look through my stuff, pick an image and say "hey, you were going to a good place with this, but then you changed directions. Any interest in pushing that boundary again?"
That would be rad.
Of course, it'd be interesting to see what "defines" me, too.
Everyone deserves to be thrown roses.

What's this?
Posted 16 years agoI go work on my basement renovations for a couple days and everybody gets their knickers in a twist about some cut-budget daytime drama-show motif?
Honestly! Glad I missed it.
Now, resuming usefulness.

1000 views.
Posted 16 years agoLook at the fireworks.
That deserves some sort've reward for someone.
Or if you're viewer 1001. That's a nice round number.

Time for a new journal entry!
Posted 16 years agoTruthfully.
Time is short. Home renovations, wedding, clients, television on DVD, and a short attention span.
Add 'em together and what've you got?
I DON'T KNOW!

Posted 16 years agoIf I get 1000 views, I promise to do something nice.
Like stomp out a burning old lady, or something.

Motif.
Posted 16 years agoMotif.
It's not what you think it is, motif.
You can definitely check out their motif. There's the proper use of motif. The improper motif. The accented and resigned motif. The motif for all ages. The motif of exclamation, the motif of sorrow. The motif of endearment and of friendship.
It's simply motif, motif.
A beard will also make everything wise. Including your house.

Three things I've seen today.
Posted 17 years agoBeaucoup, not buku. It's French and it means "A lot". And the pronunciation is "boku".
C'est la vie, not Say Lavy. It's another nugget of francais... literally translated it means "It is the life", but you can take it is "that's the way it goes".
Damn, I thought there was a third.
Oh, it'll come to me. Until then, I stew!
Or eschew.

Keep regular with proper monthly commissions
Posted 18 years agoAs of late (and perhaps the last long while, in fact) I'm a bit slow on actually producing new work.
I ponder the idea of accepting a couple small sketch commissions to kick things back into gear.
It could either do wonders to get me working out of my own safe little circles, or it could be a bit of extra stress. What a gamble!
